Ed, is it just me or do Sky Sports not like the blues? Haha.

When we sold Lukaku I was under the impression it was 90-100million. With an initial 75mil paid. I could be completely wrong haha and please correct me if I am.

But now we are buying someone top dollar with a reported 35mil up front possibly rising to 50mil.

So it’s reported we pay 50mil for our player.

But

Utd paid 75 for Lukaku. Haha not that I’m bothered about the money it’s not mine. Just wonder why it’s different.

And if I’m completely wrong I apologize haha.

Always thought that having a Transfer Window, in particular the summer window over-run into the season start ridiculous so glad that this year it ends 9th August. However in our case that leaves 16 days to gather in the 6 players silva wants. Not a lot of time left.

There are systems in place to speed up the transfers now ktf. We’ll have deals in place, ready to go. I’m quietly confident we’ll get a few more in after Richarlison.

Never doubted (if you read some of my previous comments) that they would have a plan and irons in the fire lads. My comment was just to add a bit of pessimism that should some of those fires go out we would get desperately near needing thinners to relight them because matches alone would not work.

Silva saying he wants 6 signings worries me, that's too many in my opinion, we bought a load of players last season and everyone was delighted only for a rubbish season to follow. Looks like we have as good as signed the Watford kid who I don't think we need. A CB a replacement for Baines and a forward would have done. All new players need some settling in time but last season they didn't really get that time because after the first few games the confidence of the entire squad was shot. I fully expect Kane Gilfi tuson and Walcott to be much better this season.

Can’t say I agree with you there as it was not so much the amount but the lack of balance in them.

Richarlison is a left wing attacker which we have been week on for a few seasons, so very much needed imo.

If we had made just 3 signings last summer the fixture list would still be the same and we would have struggled even more as we didn’t sign a striker.

We clearly need defensive strength. Maybe as much as 3 players needed there. We also need a left attacker, almost signed. A striker just to help out with the goal scoring as Niasse and Tosun will not give us 30 goals between them (maybe 25ish) . And I still think although we have plenty of midfielders, we need a box to box power house.

That’s 6 right there. I get the concern of what happened last season, but this season offers a completely different set of opening fixtures and hopefully if the acquisitions are correct, a better starting 11 too.

Agree with TA. Aslong as we buy what we need and integrate them into the first 11 with some kind of common sense then we shouldn't encounter the same issues as last season.

Integration is at least easier with Richarlison. The lad already knows what to expect in the EPL and theoretically should be more advanced than any of our other players in terms of knowing what Silva wants from his team. As long as he can link up well with his new teammates quickly then he should be raring to go in opening game.
