Dear Mr Kenwright, I would just like to say a big thank you for putting up with some unfair comments from supporters who misunderstood your intentions over the years. I for one had no doubt about your loyalty to Everton Football Club, having witnessed you talking to a small boy in Goodison Road some years back. The words you spoke to him were obviously from a supporter and not a businessman. I am sure you are as excited as I am by the news of our potential new ground and wanted you to know (assuming you read these pages) that the vast majority of Evertonians were behind you and the club 100%. let's now move on to the next chapter of creating even more history for Everton Football Club. Thank you. (Well Ed, you never know. he might just read these pages? )

{Ed001's Note - I don't think he does, he certainly never used to. He is 100% a supporter first, lover of the city of Liverpool as a whole second and businessman third.}

Hi Degsy good post that mate, over the years many posters on here have slated Bill Kenwright, but i for one am really grateful for all he has done for Everton Football Club and hope when he steps down and when we get a new stadium it would be a nice compliment to him to have part of it named after him, GuernseyBlue.

Took a lot of stick Bill, but unlike other clubs, he remained ensuring it was a football Club steeped in history and not a boys toy. Mossi has now seen the true meaning of our club and we have Bill to thank for this.

I have stuck up for Kenwright many times when a few were slating him. I think he deserves a bit of praise now.

Really rate Surgudson, but would not want to see him arrive at the expense of losing Barkley. Barkley is starting to show some class, and like many top end players he is creating time on the ball and drawing in the opposition which is creating space elsewhere.
An attacking front three of Rom, Barkley and Rooney, would be fab; Bolaise on one side and another on the other? Would make me very happy and other defences less so.
Hopefully Rom can be persuaded?

Hi Ed latest news on the new stadium site saying we have purchased land from Peel Holdings, have you heard anything yet mate the wheels seem to be in motion, bring it on we have waited for this moment for so long, onwards and upwards we go, GuernseyBlue.

{Ed002's Note - As I explained the other day, it will need a planning application, consultation, planning permission etc. before work can even begin - I suspect it is still some way off - 2020/21 perhaps?}

23 Mar 2017 13:20:42
Do you mean to be built or to start building ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Once the application is made I would expect it to be three years before it is ready to use - if the application goes in soon then that should hit 20/21.}

23 Mar 2017 13:39:35
Quite right ed but we don't know what work has been done behind the scenes. Plans and planning permission etc maybe done and dusted based on us buying this land. May all have been done on the quiet. (we hope)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No that is not how it works. Planning permission is based on a public processes where the plans need to be reviewed, there needs to be consultation with all concerned parties, objections need to be addressed etc. before permission is granted. None of that has happened.}

So we are looking 3/ 4 years? D.

{Ed002's Note - See above.}

Sorry clicked too early. Do other countries have to go through all this beauracracy?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Of course.}

We can but wait. Looking forward to seeing plans and designs. Could be the massive boost the club and that area of the city needs.

Would be interesting to see if Liverpool got the CW games in 2020 would that hold up or speed up the procedure as always politics and procedure would be the biggest hurdles. interesting times ahead for the city.

My mate Jakub from down the pub who happens to be a polish builder reckons 3 - 4 month build if he and his 3 man team get the contract. Says he will need 75% cash upfront :-)
