No Idrissa Gueye ed001? Kante imo was the best defensive midfielder when he was at Leicester and first season with Chelsea. Gueye was Second best in epl for a few seasons and is doing well at PSG so I think he’s better than some of the players on your list. Not sure what has happened with Kante but think he’s playing out of position at Chelsea.
{Ed001's Note - Kante has never played defensive midfield. He played central midfield at Leicester and continues to do so at Chelsea. Gueye can't pass and his touch is awful plus he lacks positional sense, which is why he has to make so many needless tackles. If he was better, he would not have to make so many challenges and would not pick up so many suspensions. Gueye is not that good and never has been.}

I think he has improved since he left us like, I reckon he could have been really good if he got to work with a manager like Carlo earlier in his career, instead of the jokes he had to suffer at Villa and us.

Spot on Ed. Gueye for all of his good qualities was often in areas tackling where he needn’t be and we found ourselves wide open in the middle with the opposition carving through us. His passing was improving but was known to be a weakness. Still a million miles better than our current options. I’m hopeful that Gbamin will be a player.
{Ed001's Note - I was really looking forward to seeing Gbamin this season, I had heard a lot about him but never saw him play. Hopefully we will get to see how good he is.}

I know I've asked this a few times over the past few months, has anyone seen a return for him?
{Ed002's Note - The suggestion was that he would be fit and perhaps make a cameo at the end of the season if there was no risk.}
