Well went for a walk on the beach to clear my head, and have read people's opinions on what happened tonight, and have commented on a few.
Do I have the answer to the problems on the pitch? no. But what I was tought from a young age as a manager and when I had my own buisness was if someone is not performing then get rid or they will set the bar that others will follow.
In my time I got rid of a few, those I kept knew what I expected and performed to a high standard. Winners breed winners and right now our club is full of losers, and so the bar is low.
Get in winners and raise the bar. Those who can't reach that bar bin and move on.

spot on woburn.

Taught and brought up with the same ideals Woburn and passed them onto my kids same no doubt did many others. Seems to me that modern day footballers in particular have everything done for them and this in turn breeds indolence. Like you and most others I don't have the answers. A couple of valid points in my view, you do not get rid of a 'key' member of staff (I. E. The ball roller) unless you have a replacement lined up, that is just pure basics, in this instance Everton have acted appallingly and unprofessional in being reactive and not proactive. Second point the buck stops at the top, again I see no action or communication coming from there. Lastly and somewhat off topic, did anyone else have nobody to talk to last night (if they went) , I had 3 or 4 seats to my left empty and a whole row to my right occupied by just a couple of people. Everton take note.

Not here on the wind up but you know things are bad when a liverpool feels sorry for your plight.
I thought in the summer that Koeman had a kid in the candy shop approach much like Rodgers did in his spell with us but you have some decent players that are criminally under achieving at the moment. What's the solution? Getting a manager to take you to the next level in the short term is going to be difficult with Silva and the big names unavailable (and would want plenty of transfer funds in Jan) but surely an alardyce or a pulis for 8 months to keep you in the league has to be the stop gap till the summer. On paper you are way to good to go down but in practise it's looking pretty dire.

Agreed. We need to quit moaning and name an experienced manager pronto. We don’t need pretty this year, we need survival.

Call Big Sam, he can fix crap like this and at least make the Everto jalopy run mid table. Give him a 3 year contract and with a buyout if some great manager shows up next season. That is unless we’re in the Championship.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Nov 2017 23:11:13
even big sam would struggle with this bunch.

This may end up a rhetorical question, but what is the answer?

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Nov 2017 22:46:45
NOW WILL ALL THOSE WHO WHERE SO SNIFFY ABOUT ALLERDICE, GET REAL, WE SHOULD GIVE HIM WHAT HE WANTS, AND BEG HIM TO CHANGE HIS MIND. THAT WAY WE MIGHT STILL BE IN THE PREM NEXT SEASON, WITHOUT THAT ALL THE BIG PLANS, NEW GROUND AND ALL, GO DOWN THE DRAIN.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i still cant stand the guy JCW but we do need a manager ASAP, just not him imo..

23 Nov 2017 22:52:53
JCW100 - I agree, mate, but there’s no need to SHOUT!

23 Nov 2017 22:55:41
Here here, we need long time manger mate.

23 Nov 2017 23:00:09
Every 3 years someone calls for Big Sam to save them. Guess it’s Evertons turn. Maybe he can kick things in the right direction. If Sam can’t perhaps my first trip to Goodison will be to see a League game versus Exeter.

Derby two weeks Sunday could be the worst one yet!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - dont remind me eddy..

23 Nov 2017 22:45:08
Trying to think of a way to avoid it. If moshiri is desperate for Silva and Watford want £30mil and he thinks it will save us do it!

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Nov 2017 22:45:15
The club has to act. Kenwright and Walsh must know that Unsworth is not the answer. We have managed to get r points from 6 but we were lucky. We should on paper get 3 against Southampton but only because they are worse than us. Moshiri, we need a manager and one who is a strong character who can shape what on paper is a good squad into. well a good team.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Nov 2017 22:56:58
For me Walsh is to blame for a lot of this took a job which was too big for him! He is only a head about after all moshiri was I’ll advised about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Nov 2017 23:08:55
I feel sorry for Unsworth. He hasn't turned it around but he is inexperienced at this level and has inherited an absolute mess. I defy anyone to actually name our best team with any conviction. The whole club is a shambles at the moment.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Nov 2017 07:32:54
He's inherited a shambles mate but in six or so games he's somehow made it even worse. I felt sorry for him after the first couple of matches but he's proved he completely incapable. Last night but as an absolute farce.

Ed any of you Eds. please tell all of us true blues that we're going to get a Manager now!?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i would expect one appointed as soon as possible after that debacle mate..

23 Nov 2017 22:45:10
Who though Ed? Any clue?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - moshiri wants silva oumartime, i would take the lone ranger at this time mate..

23 Nov 2017 22:49:50
Isn't the Silva thing done and dusted though. not a goer?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if we want him we will get him mate..

No new manager will make us half decent. We just have to avoid getting relegated.

23 Nov 2017 22:40:31
Svenny we can't leave it as it is, we have to get discipline into this lot. To many players standing around doing sod all.

My point also, the squad we have are no were near the finnished article, and need. Refurb asap.

23 Nov 2017 21:37:46
martina is rubbish right and we still playing him at left back, what a joke. i'm afraid unsy has either got koemans ways in him or koeman is still on the phone picking the team finishing this season, not renewing next season. we are being absolutely robbed of our money.

its a total joke talk about the new stadium again are they taking the piss, get a manager sorted, get all the rubbish players out. in jan buy some good players especially a striker and stop taking the piss out of us its getting annoying now.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

23 Nov 2017 22:05:26
I wouldn't give a monkeys if we got shot of schneiderlin, Rooney, Keane, Williams, Martina and possibly klaassen. Absolutely painful to watch.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Nov 2017 22:06:33
Humiliated by a side that cannot score against anyone else except us. That is 8 they have put past us with a single reply. What a mess. The thing is as fans we are in the dark, we have no idea what is going on behind closed doors. I honestly believe (d) the Squad we have is at least capable of retaining the position of last season. This is just frustrating. At least I am retired now so no work to go to and get ragged at. Instead Gym tomorrow morning and beat the crap out of something.

23 Nov 2017 22:27:28
That's Atalanta's first away win this season, in all competitions, and its not even a 1-0 win, bloody 5-1.

{Ed025's Note - could have been more dentie..

23 Nov 2017 22:54:13
Only fun I had was when Atalanta's fans were jumping so much that the TV camera picture was going up and down. Had to keep nodding really fast just to watch the game properly.

I'd shot Morgan Feeney on. Like commentator said, the youth show now fear. Sandro going to do nowt unless we play two wingers who can beat defenders and whip a cross in. Up to now, Sandro's first touch is a pass back to Roles.

Silvas latest interview was still stance again all he had to say was I am seeing the season out with Watford and this would stop the constant questions about Everton for him. He might not want to seem like he’s saying no to Everton on the other hand just depends what angle you want to look at his interview.

according to elstone they want to put planning permission in by the new year sounds to me that they have the funding in place and once planning is approved we will start work.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Who do you think has funding is in place? And how long do you think it will take to get planning approval?}

23 Nov 2017 16:27:52
As far as I am aware the local council are funding it and planning permission could take anything up to a couple of years, unless I am mistaken.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Right on Geoff. I was worried we would get all on the moaners back when it is not finished by Easter.}

23 Nov 2017 18:30:51
We will have the biggest ground in the championship?
only joking lads, we have to laugh at ourselves, for now.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Nov 2017 18:47:29
Just some plans will do. Then we can just salivate and moan until it's built.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Nov 2017 19:08:03
Having a father who is an architect I know you can’t put a time limit on the planning there is a period that notice has to be up for so any local objections can be made plans need to be approved by the council planning department and these are just a couple of the stages and you can’t assign a fixed timescale at this point.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Nov 2017 20:15:05
It's not going to be that straight forward. there will be lots and lots of arbitration re the environmental side of things. especially given its setting. have to demonstrate no environmental impact on area. etc etc, then there will be the financial planning. phased release of funds, site planning, building plans, infrastructure plans, third party input. especially with consideration for third party investment for area. I think this is 5-10 years in making. and I'll be honest i'm more concerned with on pitch activity right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - me too jcl..

23 Nov 2017 17:29:02
that's not to say work on the site won't start as lots of hurdles need overcoming on the site before work on the stadium will start hence why I said work will start ease up ED it's the first good news we have had for a while.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You think Everton will be starting woring on the site illegally. Brilliant.}

23 Nov 2017 13:42:50
There are a group of useless managers who always seem to find a club. They're liker the Tim Henmans of football, crap but multi millionares.
I hope the board are looking a bit higher than the following:
Sam Alladyce
Steve McClaren
Alan Pardew
Ian Dowie
Roy Hodgson
Mick mcCarthy
Neil Warnock
Steve Bruce
I Can't see SILVA being the Saviour either.
The board need to keep searching please, our saviour is out there somewhere.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

23 Nov 2017 15:04:04
I like Steve Bruce! He's not the highest calibre manager ever and i think he comes up short when it comes to managing in the PL, but he seems like a genuinely decent guy who goes into a club, steadys the ship and builds a solid foundation for a new manager to then take a club forward that bit more necessary for a stay in the top division.
Not everybody can reach the highest echelons of the industry so don't disrespect him for doing the best he can.
No he's not the guy for Everton now, but if we ended up doing a Sunderland or Villa then he's exactly the kind of manager we would then want on board.
