So we have some negativity on here about our new manager. I understand trepidation because, well, its Everton.

However, you have got to let this go and back the club and manager. It's so important that we mend as a club and as a fan base. there's so much bitterness among our supporters it is making it an almost impossible place to come as a player or manager.

Now it's not blind faith we have it's just faith. I mentioned this in a previous post to DC. I will give my support to any player or manager we have. Until I think that they have lost their own belief in what they are are doing. For Silva it was the Shef United game when he made panicked and rashed decisions. It was this point I felt he realised he didn't have answers.

The reason I still believed is because I've been a blue for 45 years and I've seen many managers turn situations around when they look bleak. Including Silva last season when it was worse than it looks this season.

With Koeman it was very similar in his first season but turned it around from christmas into probably the best 5 months I've have seen at Everton since the 80s.

So blind faith it isn't, its experience. However, to not back a manager, whoever he is, is not right and is not being a supporter. You can call yourself a fan which is a flimsy, self gratifying, glory hunter and is the usual type that does nothing but slate the manager, team and players and can't even bring themselves to say anything good even when we are winning.

Me and many others will continue being supporters. We'll even have a go at players and manager if we think so but will balance it out with the positives. Criticism is fine, being spiteful against your own for no reason at all is not, especially when a manager has not even got his feet under the table yet.

I will always believe we can win the next game, our players and manager can do the unthinkable. Faith in the players from the manager, faith in the manager from the players and faith from the stands in our club is the only way we will ever be successful again.

Good post bluejohn I think big dunc has done what many will agree was unachievable under silva, galvanised us again. I wish silva good luck in his future it didn't work out we move on, that's football. I look forward with excitement yes we all should, but let's remember this is not his team and there's still deadwood floating around. While I believe we will start to improve I don't expect us to be fully amongst it till at least season after next, there's no quick fix here just progression.

To be honest guys I didn't want to post it because I'm on such a high. Even if this doesn't work out, we are starting to think like the Everton I know again.

Plus our owner for the first time managerial wise in my opinion, is doing so as well.

Bring on Burnley, Man City and Liverpool. I don't care who you are, WE ARE EVERTON!

Nailed it there, BlueJohn, absolute cracking post. Maybe the previous few managers have been uninspiring but if someone can't get slightly excited at the prospect of CA then I don't know what would please them. The foundations are now firmly in place so let's see what Brands and Ancelotti can bring to the club.

Really good post BJU. I think it captures perfectly the optimism from the vast majority of the fan base in the appointment of CA who is recognised as one of the best managers of his generation.

I'd also like to echo Dunc09's sentiments where he wished Silva good luck in his future. It didn't work out for him but I hope no one would doubt the effort and commitment he put into the job. He was often first in and last out but couldn't find the answer. I know a lot of you say he getting a big pay off and maybe he is but not one of you should have failed to see the stress, the true concern and the character he showed in the last couple of months. It's a shame a couple more of the players couldn't have shown the same
it's always the manager, not the players that pay the ultimate price of a sacking. I'm not saying it wasn't deserved but - at Christmas time especially- we should show compassion to someone who did try his best

I wish him well for the future

Spot on with that post and the responses, wish Silva well myself hopefully he will take something away from it all and come back stronger!
I am so glad Dunc is still in the setup, really want his passion giving the players that fire in their bellies!
It’s going to be an uphill struggle but as BlueJohnUns says we need to get behind the team the manager the staff and the club! COYB.

Is this a site now where anyone who doesn't have an opinion which follows the blind masses is now called a SPOILT BRAT if so it's really deteriorated and Ed 025 that was ill-mannered.

{Ed025's Note - it was not direct at you personally BL, it was in reference to getting a present (like we have just got with carlo) and not being content with that but wishing for bigger and better(who i dont know), why cant you just be happy with what the club are trying to do which is imorove and move forward?..

24 Dec 2019 11:19:31
I never criticised CA read my posts all of them.

{Ed025's Note - then please explain the negativity you have about his appointment? and who you would have preferred BL, im sure we would all like an insight into how the appointment of one of the top managers in world football can be seen with such apathy and disdain..

This isn't aimed at anyone but I'm positive a few fans would love us to be relegated, just so they can give a cheeky smile, tut and happily say "I told you so". Can't they see this is probably the highest calibre manager we have ever appointed. We could attract a different class of player just down to the fact players want to play for him. Let's all enjoy the festive period, sit back and enjoy the rest of the season. That's what I'm going to do anyway. Merry Christmas to all Eds and fans on here.

I’m a little surprised and made up Carlo’s our new manager and as far as experience goes I don’t think we could of hired any better, not to mention the success he’s had in his career so far. A big step up in class if you ask me. Don’t think Bonnie Langford would ever cut it as a premier league manager anyways, she’s much better off in the theatres. Reckon that was just the kenwright link :) Merry xmas all! Get drunk.

I can't think of a way that this will not sound like a wind up but I am asking it anyway. BlueLagoon, I am genuinely interested in hearing your answer to ED025 or are you sulking in a corner?

Merry Christmas folks - I'm hoping for a centre half, and a striker for Christmas.

Maybe we could recycle naisse, Keane, kean and Iwobi to raise some of the money.

Kenny having a good season in Germany. He's playing most of the time and Schalk 04 only been beaten x3.

Kean before Tosun?!

I would like to see what Ancelotti can do with Kean
Add a Centre Mid to that list for me, I know we have Gbamin and Gomes to return but feel we need some depth and if those two or Delph make it on the pitch it will just be a bonus ☺️.

Just go and get Docoure and loan a CB and we'll be fine.

The mind boggles Hugo. My opinion on Kean still hasn’t changed. The lads a future superstar imo. If that’s at us or elsewhere remains to be seen though.

Its a tough one to ask the board to splash out on new midfielders in Jan. We desperately need a couple of new guys to freshen it up and add abit of steel and creativity, but then is it wasted money when our injury plague is over? Gbamin is going to be sensational i feel, and Gomes is quality when he wants to be. Doucoure would be a dream signing imo. Watford won't sell in Jan though and i think he'll have a lot of interest if they get relegated.
I think Kean will develop into a fantastic player with the right guidance but is looking likly that will be with a club back in Italy. A shame but we don't have the right setup to allow a big money signing to ease in slowly. Imagine how good he could be if he followed the Chelsea development plan!

Sig could bring us some good money because, unless Carlo gets something new out of him, then he won't feature much more than as a sub. I believe Richarlison as the deep lying forward will improve with every game and keep him out of the 11.

It really is the same old story though, no matter who we bring in, unless we get a clinical goalscorer then we'll never kick on to the top spots in the league. Big Rom Lukaku being supported by Gomes, Richarlison, Bernard and Digne would have been unstoppable. I just hope Carlo points Brands in the direction of someone who can finally replace him.
