As fans, we all crave success, and with Mr Moshiri's involvement - allied to our history - we expected to be making progress. However, it's not happening as we wanted.
How many of you would accept a period (up to 5 years) during which we could see a manager and squad given the opportunity - under a clearly communicated plan understood by the fans - to develop the club as a genuine contender for Champions League football and domestic trophies? Or would you expect instant success and bay for blood when the inevitable setbacks occur along the way forward?

I think that answers itself.

24 Feb 2018 21:45:11
As long as someone would guarantee our remaining in the top flight during that period you mention, I am on board BobbyC1878.

It has to be with a new manager. Sam is clearly not the answer. I don't like chopping manager all the time but We've made a huge mistake here. he's a good manager with low expectations but when you are a club with a tradition of quality football he is not in that bracket.

Agree1 Disagree1

24 Feb 2018 19:52:11
Here comes the get rid of SA posts. We lost, we are a bang average side at best. Sam is the best manager for job at the moment. Name a better option?

Stop the negativity. get behind the club at this difficult time.

Good post Tiffa I 100% agree.

Agree2 Disagree10

24 Feb 2018 19:59:43
Him and Steve Walsh need to go for bringing in Tosun. Rabbit in the headlights. Not sure how you can say he’s the best man for the job with his negative lineups, negative substitutions and negative style of play.

Agree10 Disagree2

24 Feb 2018 20:42:10
We have become the most boring team in the prem thanks to fat Sam, and I see the holiday in Dubai worked? what.

Agree5 Disagree0

24 Feb 2018 20:55:26
SA will manage this season to the extent of getting results at home and anything away will be a bonus. It’s small time, it’s survival mode and it’s pretty crap tbh. I want this guy gone by the end of May.

I can’t stand what I see. It’s business football not entertaining football. And as a spectator and not an invester I’m just not happy.

With SA I just get the feeling that the team is set out to make his role in this club justified. And honestly I am not joking when I say that I preferred the Martinez football that at least had a bit of integrity to the game, which this crap we are being served up clearly doesn’t.

Agree4 Disagree1

24 Feb 2018 21:17:32
Perhaps we are seeing how empty the cupboard had been for years. Moyes won it with smoke and mirrors, Martinez coasted on Moye's solid yet dull system, and RK was just a mess. We have a number of quality players with no system, and no experience playing as a unit.

Sam can get the club to safety, then it will be a big summer of clearing things out, proper training, and team building. Who the manager may be is.

Just athought, based on recent rumors and banter. Big Sam becomes DOF and Raffa or Silva or Howe or? as manager?

Once we get to safety, we can play all the youngsters like an early pre-season.

I did like Tosun's hip check on Defo.

Agree0 Disagree3

24 Feb 2018 21:38:58
Have to say (and I being an advocate of Sam for some time) that perhaps Koeman if given time would have got the same results and dare I say it eventually improved us. That was a truly awful game and for Sam to find positives out of that is treating us as idiots.

Agree4 Disagree1

24 Feb 2018 21:40:27
SA as DOF, you are joking right? The man couldn't direct piss into a 6ft bowl.
The negativity and direness of the stuff he perceives as football is a joke, at the 70 minute mark we had Tosun up top in the opposition half alone, 20 minutes to go, at a Watford side that ain't all that and he went all defensive to hold on for a goalless draw, that is absolutely diabolical.
I thought the first half as poor as the game was, we looked like the team in control, we should have then went with a 4-4-2 and took the game to Watford.
Then to top it off, we go a goal down and he takes the 2 players that can score from any were off the pitch so actually reduces our goal threat. Any fan who defends this man needs to lock themselves in a padded room with a straight jacket.

24 Feb 2018 21:55:04
I feel your pain DFS. I said give him the benefit of the doubt and see what improvements are made with new recruits in January. Well he’s had his window, he’s had a holiday in Dubai and the football (if you can call it that) is still bad.

Call it wishful thinking or sheer fantasy, but to expect SA to change his playing philosophy at this stage of his career is just madness. We played it safe, we will be safe and we deserve nothing more.

Let’s hope that he’s gone as soon as it is safe to do so.

24 Feb 2018 19:24:26
Yet another bore fest, 5 shots 1 on target how on earth do we expect to win games with stats like that.
Very poor! Just really want this season to be over and start again!

We play for draws Wakka. And so invite pressure. We have the ability to make crap teams look good, and it ain't going to change.

24 Feb 2018 19:50:50
To top it all off Allardyce has just referred to Michael keane as William Keane. He doesn’t even know the players’ names.

Agree4 Disagree2

24 Feb 2018 21:23:35
Was frustrated because he was going to bring on Schneiderlin just before they scored obviously to play out for a draw!
No attacking intent I wonder if Walcott wonders what he got himself into!

24 Feb 2018 19:42:40
With a new manager!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2018 19:23:58
Please just get out of our club.
Take all the rubbish with you and just go.
Wtf has happened to my beloved blues?
We are worse than ever and a warm weather training week in dubai is a disgrace.
Get out allardyce an take everything you brought with you.
Sack the board as well because the rot is well and truly at home in there.
Lets see his regulars defend him after that!
GET OUT NOW!

Believable9 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - maybe we all hive a higher opinion of this club than is warranted pauly, mid table club with mid table players and a mid table manager...and thats not changing anytime soon mate..

24 Feb 2018 19:33:00
We won’t be mid table, we’ll be bottom half. As I said
2 weeks back, “winnable games for the rest of the season bar 2, however look at the away record before feeling too comfortable”.

24 Feb 2018 19:39:04
I don't enjoy football anymore.
We are woeful.
I am worried that he will take us down.
That was, without doubt, our worst 90 mins i have witnessed.
I seem to say the same thing each week!
Tosun looks absolutely attrocious.
Im sorry if it sounds harsh based on a few games but today he looked so far out of his depth it was unreal.
No pace. No confidence. No positional sense and no idea what he was doing.
Vert very worrying.
He was also just about to bring on yet another defensive player untul they scored.
Truly woeful management.
I am disgusted and hurt by that debicle.

Ed025: those amongst the board, staff, players and fanbase that aren’t delusional wishful-thinkers are instead lacking a truly winning mentality.

{Ed025's Note - you may be right bobby..

24 Feb 2018 21:27:39
I am curious. In what way is criticising what we saw today deemed negative? Just how are we supposed to react to that?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2018 21:43:40
Can't really judge Tosun as he had no support and no service and until we actually play to attack, this will remain the same.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 00:51:24
I agree Bluegrey. No matter who you put upfront it will never improve unless you give the player somethig to feed off.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 07:59:03
Just look at Rom, he is struggling at Utd due to negative tactics and lack of service, does that sound familiar to Tosuns situation here?

25 Feb 2018 10:12:10
At least rom plays 🤣.

Anyone still sticking up for the fat ogre? He's destroying the club feel sorry for the fans travelling down today. Another horrendous display.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - the effort was there, but a lack of quality means we created very little joe..

24 Feb 2018 19:27:58
Those fans that travelled today deserve a refund in full take it out of the Dubai fund.

Agree1 Disagree2

24 Feb 2018 19:38:41
Sorry ed but we should have buried this lot. Lack of effort, skill or anything positive going forward.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i did not see a lack of effort woburn, quality yes confidence yes and possibly cohesion, i just want this season to end now mate..

24 Feb 2018 21:05:08
I'm still going to support him.
He is here to keep us from being relegated, Just leave him to do his job.

24 Feb 2018 19:54:14
Let's hope we still have a place in the PL when it does end Ed because quite frankly the way we've played this season we don't deserve one.

{Ed025's Note - i thik we will be ok mate, surprisingly enough the sides as bad as us are a lot lower..

Well if he is GB I will support him, Also if he is not then I will support whom ever replaces him. I will not demand sackings or say I will stop supporting the team. Wonder if I am alone in thinking like this?

Agree2 Disagree3

24 Feb 2018 14:04:06
He isn't going to come out and say "I knew I was only getting until the summer but waited until Everton got desperate and therefore I negotiated an 18 month deal in order to get a 12 month payoff"
Of course he's going to say its not short term but deep down does he honestly think he is getting any form of extension to a contract that is already 12 months longer than it should be?
