Good buys. Piennar , Holt , donovan , ince , huth , dempsey. 3 or 4 out of them to fill the positions we need. Quality players who may not cost a lot and would not be on massive wages.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Good buys indeed, better than all the other nuggets spouting on about Kalou and Owen

Ed, your thoughts on the fernandes saga?
Irish blue {Ed025's Note - i rate the guy...when he was with us, the team was not the best, and i dont think we seen the best of him for that reason, but now, in a much improved team, and with more experience, i believe he could flourish..

Believable4 Unbelievable1

There is no saga he has been released there has been no interest from Everton so far anyway and people are just hoping for him rather than actually having any sources that say he's joining. Thoughts Ed? Or is there interest from Everton?
Joe EFC {Ed025's Note - not as far as i know joe..

To be honest Cahill owes us nothing. I could see the Club allowing him to leave for free as a reward. Plus hes a big earner.

I reckon Bosingwa would improve us - he's way better going forward than our right backs, and I think his defensive game has improved as well. He was part of the teams that put in 3 excellent defensive performances in the champo's league finals, after all (even if they got a bit lucky with the Bayern lads forgetting how to shoot proprly in the final). Depending on his wage demands (I've no clue what he would actually ask us for) I think it would be daft not to at least make the approach. On a bosman after all, signing on fees notwithstanding.

Don't see Baines going for 15M. Lescott was 20 what? Granted that was silly City money. If it really is 20+ can you imagine some combination of Jelly, Fellaini, Pienaar, Donovan, Dempsey, Moses? Can we have 4? Oh maybe 5? I don't know about you but I'd like to watch that.

Big Bald Blue {Ed025's Note - so would i baldy..

People dont realise how good of a RB hibbert is! no need for a new one for a couple of seasons! spend the money elsewhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree about Hibbo

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed.

Getting a good right winger will improve our performances 10 times more than buying a new right back.

Hibbert is a really good defensive fullback who does get forward when he can, even if his delivery isn't great.

Bring back Fernandez for the right wing Moyes, he's awesome.

Nice team,,, don't think people realise fernandes is miles better in the centre though. He's a very powerful footballer and can bully people off the ball (which would be suited better to the middle of the park) before skinnin' the life out of them (think we all remember what state he left the arsenal middle men in a few years back!). I also agree with the hibbo shout.

Including hibbo right back, the only change i'd have is fernandes CM with gibbo and good ol' landon on the right wing providing we could ever get him permenantely! If not (which is probably the case) we could even try push Barkley out wide right and see how the lad features. Fellaini just behind the striker is proving a prolific role for him so that's one for the future, and does the jellyman even need an explanation?

Toffeejack {Ed025's Note - love it jack..

pre-season why doesn't moyes try Jelavic and Vellios upront or if anyone else thinks different both great heading abilities ed?

toffee haz {Ed025's Note - they are the same type of player kaz, obviously jelly is a more accomplished player, i would like to see a guy with pace and skill along side him...someone like moses..

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Haz* try mcaleny till we sign someone? {Ed025's Note - not a bad shout mate..

We can't count solely on Velios as back up to Jelavic for a whole season, so in an ideal world I'd love to get 2 strikers in. Wouldn't mind Rodallega on a free and another ( Rodriguez, Moses) or whoever fits the bill.

24 May 2012 16:56:18
Hey ed am I missing something with Kalou, every time I have seen him play he is SH**E, also Malouda is he really that good that we should be breaking our wage structure for these two.

Barbatov - why
Owen - another why

Come on guys this is not our way, we have little dough and what little we have we do not want to be spending it wages for these has beens (except Kalou as he has never even been a has been)

Pienaar
Rodallega
Right winger - prefer Donovan lol

Keep our players and don't bother with has beens, and Kalou lol

I would rather have Joey Barton or Robbie Savage than Kalou and they are both proper bell ends

Degsybluenose {Ed025's Note - good post that degsy...and i agree with all of it mate..

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Kalou and boswinga are hated by chelsea fans, it comes to something when your own fans hate you, no thanks, there are better signings out here for us, do you agree ed??

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - i do bez...i think they are well past their sell by date, and are looking for a pay day..

24 May 2012 17:24:20
United are not going to meet our valuation (which we would want at least 20mil), not to mention, I imagine United will target central midfielders before a left back. Not to mention, Everton are not in as much ***** as we were last summer, so we are under no pressure to sell a Baines or Fellaini. And finally, and most importantly, Baines is extremely happy at Everton, he is a good lad with the right set of morals and values. No chance, remember this rumour was started by the Mirror FFS

I think Mcgeady would be a good buy on the right what do u thik ed, i know he'll cost a bit but a brilliant player.Plus Bayern Munich offerd a 18mil bid for bainsey.COME ON EVERTON

Believable0 Unbelievable6

I would like us to go for moses, johnson or hoilett before considering mcgeady

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - i agree with moses, but feel that wages would be major problem with the other two bez..

Not really a rumour, but Kalou from Chelsea on a free... I'd have him on a free! Probs false hope but i think he'd fit in well with Everton.

chealse have allowed kalou to leave on a free, know his wage demands might be a problem, but with no fee, surley it would be worth thoughing our hat in the ring, he's no has been, still in his 20's.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Don't know what this thing is with Kalou, lots of people asking about him this season.

He is simply not good enough for our team, even on a free, I have never seen him have a good game in all the years he has played for Chelsea except his first season

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

He wants to return to his first club Feyenoord.

80k a week? Even more, since he rejected 80K a week. No chance, not worth the 80k anyway.

just seen chelsea are ready to get rid of kalou and malouda so thinking they could do a good job for us what do you think ed {Ed001's Note - neither are good enough, in my opinion.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Both on ridiculous wages, which we couldn't afford, and imagine a couple of CL teams would be interested. We don't have a chance, and as Ed said, they are not really good enough to command those wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

Champions League players arent good enough for us? Yet we have Seamus Coleman and Victor Anichebe! Does nobody even think they'd be decent squad players?! {Ed025's Note - they would be mate...but their wages would be out of our league..

If we sell Baines we should definitely look at Naismith and then get Criscito as a replacement {Ed025's Note - lets just hope we dont sell baines..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Why sell Baines? and for 12 million i reckon Mr Ferguson has been sipping a bit too much whiskey lately i noticed his nose is an awful red shade. Keep your best players and build the team around them simple as that..Hope everybody is well and enjoying the summer at last. RED RUSS

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't sell Baines ,don't sell Baines mAkes no sense gt him on improved contract he's that important

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Red Russ, hope the building goes well, think you need rid of Downing and Henderson - shockers mate!

In the present economic climate why oh why can't all Everton players accept that they are already extremely well paid.....most are earning more per week than even some of the well paid supporters earn in a YEAR....and cease being more greedy ! Also when will they realise that not every footballer who becomes a decent player can play for Man Utd,Man City,Chelsea,Arsenal etc. They are only wanting to go to these clubs for more wages and less playing time.......Adam Johnson at City,James Milner at City, indeed even Steven Pienaar when he left us to go to Spurs. The modern day footballer it would appear, wants more money and less playing time.....FACT ! Why do Leighton Baines,Maroanne Fellaini,at times,John Heitinga want to leave Everton to move to one of the "Top Four",when if they stay here at Everton earning the good wage they are already on.....playing for a Manager in David Moyes, who actually helped mold them into the great players they are today....they CAN achieve winning Medals etc. This team Moyes has put together has competed with and beaten the "so-called" Top Sides over the last 2 seasons,so please see sense Bainesy & Felli, stay here and achieve all your ambitions with Everton FC. Football has always run in Era's,and I think its time for Everton to rise again. The Fans don't want you to leave, even if it was for £20m+,Utd and Chelsea are going through transition whereas at Everton we now have the makings of a very good team, with a few more additions. Stay loyal.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I think with the economic crisis it's about time that the PL and other top leagues around the world employ a wage cap like in the U.S, it would promote players playing at a club because they want to stay there, not been tempted by the £££'s.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of the thicker ones see their weekly wage as a badge of honour - and their own 'ranking' in the football world - the cleverer ones see the whole picture, the club they're with, the fans, how much they're liked, how much the team fights for each other an the atmosphere at a club, trying to do things the right way rather than just 'buying success' - but a lot of footballers are just thick

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair point, but has Johnny, Bainesy or Felli actually said they want to leave? Don't believe what you read in papers, 98% b*llocks!

Any story, that contains a statement, from the players agent, an inside source etc etc tend to absolute rubbish.

I would be surprised if any of our 'top players' leave in the summer and if they do we will not be short changed and bullied into selling by anyone!

God for bid if Baines goes (doubt it though) personally we should sign two LBs. We have been lucky with Baines because he rarely gets injured but with out luck we will get a player who will be injury prone. Personally I don't think he will go because it would be pointless getting Pienaar, when we could get a younger left winger. The whole point of pienaar is his link up play with Baines. That's just me view anyway my January wish list...
Ins
Dempsey
Pienaar
Fernandes
New LB

Outs
Gueye(loan)
Rodwell 10 mil.
Mucha 1 mil.
Yobo 2 mil. (I like Yobo but he will be on the bench, it would be mean of Moyes to keep him)
My team
Howard
Hibbert
Jagielka
Heitinga
Baines
Pienaar
Gibson
Fellaini
Fernandes
Dempsey
Jelavic..........
