Just a quick one on the victor and kone debate that seems to be on going yes kone has not worked our I honestly believe due to the injuries but to keep saying it was such a bad bit of business that we sold a "striker" for 6 mill that over his carear has played 190 games and scored 27 goals an average of 1 in 7 that has been boosted by his 3 goals in 4 for Sunderland if u take those out he averages 1 in 7.75 games for a striker who has played 347 games scored 111 goals at an average of 1 in 3 what is mad in that really on paper it was good business yes it didn't work out but I don't remember many objections at the time really. Even if you take there record at Everton only it's very similar victor 131 games 18 goals 1 in 7.27 kone 45 games 6 goals 1 in 7.5 so all in all it wasn't awful buisness.

James2134 your point at the end with the stats showing similar careers at Everton re goal to games ratio only agrees with my point that started the debate. both players were valued at around 6 million. yet Anichebe was 22 and Kone 30 ish. My point was not that one was much superior to the other. but as your goals point out. neither are great goalscorers. Kone probably has a better touch. but Anichebe is bloody awkward and strong. But my point was that similar quality players. one valued at 6 million at 22.and we got rid of him to replace him with a similar quality player for 6 million. but one ccoming to the end of his career and likely to have zero sell on value. whereas Anichebe must still have a fair few million sell on. especially now he is starting to look hungry again. Some did tell me that Kone was better. but I honestly do not see the extra quality that I was told about.

I'll say it again very easy to be wise in hindsight.

Really Degsy, you knew that Kone was going to be out injured just as much if not more than he would be available to play? Before we signed him? At the time he was worth the risk. As BlueJohnUns points out it didn't work.

No one could forsee that happening. Not even you Degsy. It happens. Kone is not the first it happened to and won't be the last.

NBTB. yes when we sold Anichebe and bought Kone I was fuming. I had some real humdingers with Swan and a couple of others. so yes I did foresee that in my view it was bad business and that Kone was pretty rubbish (or at least no better tha Anichebe) . just older. But BlueJohnUns is right. let's flush it and move on. one thing is for sure though boys. I certainly know how to start a debate that gets more than one poster involved and runs it's course over a good time period. Thinking of that. mmmmmmn. does anyone think we have ever really replaced Osman or Pienaar? (only joking) . seriously though. we always had goalscoring midfielders. Osman, Pienaar, Cahill, Fellaini, Donavon, Arteta, Graveson and Carsley all chipped in with a few. Only Barkley out of our current lot gets the goals. I think we need to prepare for when Lukaku goes and start signing some attacking midfielders who get a few with some consistency.

Neither were fit enough to lace Naismiths boots, should have offloaded Kone and kept Naismith.
