Does anyone know how Bernard played today?

Has anyone heard any news on Keane. I'm hoping the news being spread is wrong.

Puts football in perspective when something like this happens.

Fingers crossed pal that this is not accurate.

Just wanted to say, i love watching the Blues again, so much better.

Well Ricki is out for 3 games now - silly boy, when did names hurt anyone - Conjecure! Will we see now for the next league game how true Silvas words are about Lookman or will we see the lad once again sidelined despite the rhetoric. For me Lookman is a known and we have seen he can certainly perform, whereas Bernard is an unknown especially in this league - the toughest in the World, we have seen it destroy reputations to many times.

What has Lookman done in the premier league except score on debut against a keeper who couldn't catch a cold against an already beaten team? Leon Osman couldn't get anywhere near the adulation this kid gets and he was a wonderful player for us for years!

26 Aug 2018 14:18:11
In my opinion Osman was the best ball player we have had at Everton. Those that have watched him in training and reserve games will attest to that. But KingpinDuaney we/ I am not talking about Osman, I am talking about the here and now and who replaces Ricki for the next 3 games. Lookman is a very good player who just happens to be able to play (very well I might add) on the left and take players on. Whereas Bernard is an unknown in the Premiership and as I said none of the big boys went in for him.

I would like to see lookman on the wing and Bernard in number 10 position against Rotherham.

Blues 4th game on MOTD. Must be some great matches.

Nah it's just us Tedster, if we had won we would have been even further down the schedule. Hard not to get a complex about it when it happens so many times.

Better than the 2 mins at he end we usually get. Tedster.

Our back four did look suspect today. Coleman had an off day today. Holgate and Keane struggled with balls over the top with Bournemouth pace. Baines should never have given the penalty away, he should know better with his experience that had nothing to do with his age or legs going. I think we will see our back four sooner being Coleman, Zouma, Mina and Digne.
Richarlison will hopefully learn from it today. It does seem teams are targeting him in the first 30mins every time he had there were 3 Bournemouth players on top of him. Not a bad thing as it should create space for others.
Maybe an opportunity now for Lookman with Richarlison serving a three match ban.

Looks like Lookman is on his way mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 18:58:56
As impressed as I have been with Richarlison this may well be time for Bernard to show us what he can do. Lookmam doesn't fancy fighting for his place in our team so good riddance.

25 Aug 2018 19:10:09
I think we will miss Richarlison big time mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 19:34:30
We will miss him GB and he will learn from his mistakes but I thought Bernard was the most exciting signing we made, I could be wrong but let's stick him out on the left and see what he can do.

25 Aug 2018 19:47:23
You could be right mate, time will tell but hey what a goal from Theo. Keane was good tgoal as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 20:18:42
I would bring Lookman back in the team and make him stay. We need covered for both wingers. I believed like Marco said he our present and future. Why get rid now why we cannot get anyone till the Jan window and probably pay over the odds for an replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 20:57:02
That does make sense mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 21:34:53
I'd prefer us to keep Lookman but if he wants to leave then so be it. If any player doesn't want to fight for their place then what's the point of keeping them? I want to see every member of the squad hungry to win their shirt, if they think they are too good for that then it's wise to cut our losses. Nobody is bigger than the club, we don't need or want any negativity seeping into the changing rooms.

25 Aug 2018 18:11:55
Its amazing the change in the team after last season, going down to 10 men last season we could have lost but we are now fighting and playing very decent football. Richarlson will learn after today's game.
Thought Seamus should have got the capt armband again seem to have an off day today, onto Rotherham Wednesday.

It's been pretty poor from us so far and miles away from what I was anticipating. Several players aren't firing on all cylinders and need to improve second half. As I write this the incident with Richarleson happened. WTF Stupid Stupid Stupid boy. We'll be lucky to get a draw out of this now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Aug 2018 16:28:29
Well Well Well. I may have to eat my words. Great goal by Theo and then them losing the player involved in the incident with Richy, quite rightly too imo, has changed the complexion of this game. Then a great goal by Keene. Blimey. my neighbours must be wondering what's going on :-p.

While complementing Silva and his encouraging style, isn't it ironic that yet again we have an attack minded manager and the Team finds itself unable to keep a clean sheet. We need to find a style such as City or Liverpool albeit at the moment with lesser players.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 17:12:33
After 2-0 up and back to an even number of players I really didn't see them getting back into it. Just goes to show it IS a funny old game isn't it. Get the defense sorted and we will be fine.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 18:23:45
yep agree with that,

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 18:44:22
The other thing is our fullbacks are really wingbacks that can attack better than they can defend, Baines takes a good free kick and penalty, Coleman can scare the crp out of defenders when running at them. I would keep Coleman at this stage but swap out Bainsie for Digne. Perhaps we will see the experiment in the league cup. Keanes injury may see Silva play Zouma and Holgate or Mina and Holgate or Mina and Zouma. Mind you we are unbeaten now in 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 20:22:23
As you say KTF, unbeaten in three games is a decent start, particularly when two were away. We’ve looked more fluent going forward with attacking mindset throughout the team. On top of that we’ve got points from positions where we’d have lost them last season, so promising start for me.

Two reds in the first three games must be a record as well!

Eds, how likely is it Everton will sell lookman? will they consider loaning him out? From a selfish perspective I'd love Everton to keep him and integrate him more and more into the team, and give him a chance to prove his worth. If however Silva can't give him such assurances and the lad is doing all he can in training (which apparently he is) then why not let him go out. even if it is on loan, surely it's in the club's interest for him to play regularly rather than sit on bench. presumably behind Bernard.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - if the price Everton want is reached they will let him go.}

25 Aug 2018 14:03:14
. we just saw line up and he's not even on bench. think this one is a done deal. pity.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - unfortunately the lad wants a move and the club do not want to force an unhappy player to stay.}

25 Aug 2018 14:32:19
Absolutely. would love the lad to have had his chance though ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he showed in the Bundesliga he is a good option, seems a strange move to replace him with Bernard, who I am not in the slightest bit convinced with. Lookman was unhappy that he was pretty much told from the moment Silva came in that he was not going to be any more than a back up, rather than being told he could fight for a position. This is what happens when you tell players that. They want to feel they have a chance if they perform well, rather than being told he is not ready.}

25 Aug 2018 15:26:38
I’d let him go - I got sick of lakaku constantly being linked to leaving. He obviously wants off - get 28 million for him. That’s Mina paid for.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 18:26:24
I know he is small but I also am not convinced, like Klaasen there is a reason why the big Clubs do not go in for these players.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2018 09:28:11
How do you know what lookman was told?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2018 10:46:07
Been awake since 7am. Hard game today - let's hope it's 3 points! Never thought I'd say it last season but I think we will miss Schneiderlin. I would like to see Zouma in for hollgate but I think it will be the same at the back.
Hopefully see Bernard from the bench today COYB!
