In a nutshell - no

Some cracking players but I think with all the issues we are facing with potentially breaching ffp there’ll be very few incomings.

Can’t see us actually moving many on in the summer either as can’t see anyone actually wanting to purchase the players we want to move on.

Well that's a nice positive way to start the day :)

I think we will see a few incomings and outgoings, possibly not A list superstars but definitely good underrated players who can be improved. Centre mid (possibly mids if we sell both Sig and Schneiderelin and god i hope we get sangare as he's class) , centreback, right mid and right back all need to be strengthened plus let's be real, there is no way Ancelotti would have come to us if couldn't build a team to compete. The guys a winner and i can't see him signing on to a project if there finances were not available to strengthen the side no matter how much we pay him.
Summers is going to be exciting i reckon. in Brands and Ancelotti we trust.

I don't reckon he'd have come to us to spend loads of money, break ffp rules and be banned from European competitions.

Efc, are you one of the chaps who also trusted the last four managers before Carlo.

We will get rid of five players if we don't renew any contracts at the end of the season. if Kenny comes back and we don't buy Sidibe we may be able to afford extra additions depending on wages. If we can sell a few players it will be easier to balance the books but we are looking at 2022 before we can say good bye to a fair few players that don't feature but are on big wages.

Sorry Brassington if you think I’m being negative, just think I’m being realistic for a change.

Would love us to go out and spend money recruiting some top class players but as Ed002 has pointed out on numerous occasions we are living beyond our means and may incur ffp penalties, so can’t see us splashing the cash as in previous windows.

Regards moving players on - do you honestly think any team will come in for Sigurdsson or Schneiderlin and offer us a reasonable price? I reckon lucky to get £15mil for either of them which wouldn’t be enough to recruit some of the players we’re being linked with.

If we sell Richarlison and or DCL for the prices being mentioned we may then recruit some of these decent players being mentioned but then we have to replace those 2 as well.

Brands definitely got his job cut out for him this summer, fingers crossed we can make some decent recruitments and move some on whilst not worsening our potential ffp predicament.

Ciacina to be fair mate I've always been a more than a little sceltical, more so with silva than koeman granted.
I don't think were going to go and spend a load of money, we ll not to the degree we have been but i think well offload the players we have with some commercial value who are surplus, say siggurdson, schneiderlein and plus a few others and we will have some money to spend.
one thing i do think is we will spend wisely, i can't see up signing 50m+ players but i can see us signing players who are underrated and have the potential to develop. basically brands needs to earn his corn this summer, he needs to be spot on.

ToffeeDavey, we have an rich successful accountant who runs the club, if anybody knows how to handle FFP it will be him, spend and keep us out of UEFA's bad books it will be him.

That isn't how it works.
A player is bought for a fee and that fee is split over the length of his contract. A 40 million pound player on 5 mill wages a year signed on a 4 year deal would cost us 10mill plus his 5mill wages per season or 15 million a year.
The same player sold for 40 million doesn't mean we have 40 million, if he was 2 years into his contract he would still be on the books as owing 20 million, effectively he would be a 20 million pound player.

Siggy for instance will still stand us at around 15 million depending on what his exact purchase price was (45million? )

There’s nothing concrete out there I think. But for me, if he sees any meaningful minutes this season I’d be surprised.

Hypothetical question, just gauging peoples views on a possible but very unlikely signing.

If Watford are relegated, i imagine Doucoure will be available and there's no reason we couldn't persuade him to join. However, i understand Carlo is/ was interested in signing his Napoli enforcer Allan.

Which would be the better signing for us, that would give us back the steel we lost after selling Gueye?

If it were possible I would take Doucoure, has prem experience and a good engine. Never seen Allan play, and before Carlo turned up had never heard of him. Even so he has no prem experience so would take time to settle.

Doucoure for similar reasons as Brass, and isn’t he a lot younger than Allan?

25 Feb 2020 20:44:24
Agree with above - Doucoure with his premier league experience would trump Allan who is an unknown could be a Bernard or a Sandro scenario.

The only thing I know about Allen is he's made more tackles than any other player in seria A over the last 3 seasons.

Doucoure is a fine player. I’d take him any day. If Watford go down it will not just be us sniffing around him.

Congrats to DCL becoming the highest league scoring English Everton player since Kevin Campbell in 99-20.

5 more this season and he becomes the highest league scoring English Everton player since Lineker in 85-86!

Let’s remember boys Lineker had a very good creative midfield behind him whereas DCL as well as Ricky are expected to both create and convert.

DCL is a fine striker in the making. His contribution since Duncs stand in has been outstanding. It wouldn’t shock me if he got an England call up. It’s not fair to expect a goal return like Linekers but a more realistic comparison would be Sharp. If he delivers in the same way GS did then the lads done well.

Well done DCL for your form and hard work thus far.
