think its about about time them lazy rich board members get there wallets out cuz this gr8 club isn,t that far away from the top 4... moyes has done a fantastic job for us and those of u that still give the guy s*** ... GROW UP ..we av one of the best youth sides in the premiership and we av rich pickings from there without the transfers. take a good look and u will realise how good our youth are and we aren,t to far away from a trophy or 2 i,d like a rich billionaire to take us over and give moyes a big transfer chest.. of course i wud..... bk isn,t that bad of an owner if u look at portsmouth or rangers altho he cud open the wallet up just that little bit more .

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Mate if all the owners could give 5-7 million each we wud have money to spend its not that much when rob earl can have 1 b kenrwight has 70-75 ithink and another who is rich idont remember his/her name and we can have atleast 20 million to spend

Looked around a lot of sites now and says that yobo deal is off for lack of communications , heitinga will definately be going (which I dont buy, as johnny seemed to love it last season when he was getting more game time) also saying that sunderland have enquired for peinaar. Basically if we dont finalise a sale soon pienaar could go elsewhere..
And that the owen deal could be back on
What do you reckon ed? {Ed025's Note - i think yobo will go..johnny will stay..pienaar will come..and owen wont..

Fair enough Timmy is moving on but I get pissed off at those that say Timmy Cahill should be sold and so on.. He has been loyal to the club for 8yrs, played hurt a lot, yeah finally caught up with him the last 18mths but where would the club have been without him and his huge heart and will to win? He bleeds Blue and this is the reaction by so called toffee's? Ya all starting to sound like the red s#^*e to us Aussies who follow the club..

i'm just asking a question ed! if in the past 3yrs we've hardly spent a penny but sold quite a few,and got some of the big earners of the books ie arteta, now cahill, and we've just signed a so called lucrative kit deal with nike the deal with stub hub, and sky putting even more money into the premiership, plus season ticket sales new shirt sales etc, how can we allegedlly not afford 5m for peanuts? {ed025's note - wages, and running costs rise as well mate, its hard for not only us, but most football clubs, without putting the club in financial jeopardy..

full off optimism a few weeks ago, now again were are struggling to tie down a single player with players going the other way.

Im sick of everton fans saying get of bills back we have made little or no progress over the last few years, maybe when we start heading the other way then these fans will change there tune.

Whats point in getting up to the top6 and being happy where not portsmouth we dont flutter round leauges like a yoyo, if your happy just surviving you may aswell not bother

Believable2 Unbelievable2

All day i have sat back and been really laughing my head off how all the negative fans have been reacting to a story from THE MAIL its the mail, the transfer window as a whole as been quite for most clubs so papers like THE MAIL are writing any old crap, when a player leaves you will hear if first from the club just like tim cahill so ignore these paper stories { you should know better by now } they talk crap. As for Pienaar AVB as said it will be sorted when spurs get back from the U.S.A so can we all just chill out and have a couple of beers. Terry blue

Agree0 Disagree0

We're not 'just surviving' tho mate. We do much more than that. Yes, we've not quite managed to get over the line to get that silverware but in comparison with the big spenders we do very well. I wouldn't want to do a City. Where's the fun in that?! It's nice to see players develop and also have loyal players like Osman and Hibbert. I would hate it if we had a ready made team full of egos and flash cars. It's boring! Also, you can't forget about the rest of the board. They are largely anonymous and leave Kenwright to take the flack when they themselves, have a huge part to play in it all.

John Heitinga seems to be the topic of discussion in the media of late, with a move to Fenerbache mooted this week.

However, the Dutch defender has two years left on his contract at Everton – having signed a five year deal in 2009 – and said earlier this month that he has no intentions of leaving Goodison Park.

While acting as co-commentator on EvertonTV for the game at Dundee United, Heitinga insisted “I’m going nowhere.”

A £5m move to the Turkish club is dominating headlines across the web, but when less than a week ago the player himself was declaring his love of Everton, it’s hard to see it coming to fruition, especially when the same club won’t pay £4m for Joseph Yobo.

Heitinga added, “It’s a real family club and I love it here.”

toffeeblue {Ed025's Note - i really want johnny to stay mate...and we should not deal with fenerbahce, after them screwing with us over yobo.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Guarantee heitinga will stay the 2 years, run his contract down and go a free. ? Would it be better to cash in on him now and save on his salary.? Think that would be my preference.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I think the reason people are being negative is there is never any info from efc, if baines is not leaving say so, if he is then we,ll deal with it if we have no money tell us, but all we ever hear is rumours, mostly about us losing players not signing any. Everton could stop a lot of this by just being honest, whoever leaves it will be sad but we'll get on with it its what evertonians do but at least tell us! {Ed025's Note - i agree..

Have it on good authority that the pienaar deal is off, we won't meet there £6 million valuation which QPR are quite happy to do, we also have not been able to agree personal terms, we were hoping to get him for around £3 and a half million and on a 2 year deal they want the £6 million and he wants to be guaranteed highest earner on a 3 year deal So it looks likely a deal with QPR is going to happen, hope moyes has a decent player in mind to come in if he can't get pienaar, wouldn't mind the south Korean lad from Bolton or McLean from Sunderland both can play left midfield and both of decent ability, the south Korean showed a lot of promise obviously in an ideal world bill would stump up 6 million and get pienaar in? Anyone know who could come in and be decent for us realistically? Please no one say holtby! Not realistic in any world, you heard anything ed?

scoober C {Ed025's Note - no mate..

Before we all start panicking lets see where we are at at the end of the window! The way I see it we have gotten rid of two players and brought in one. I still think Peanut will come but if he doesn't Moyes will have a plan b. He always does. As for Johnny, I think he'll probably go and I'm not sure I'm happy with this or not. On the one hand he had a good season last year but there's no half measures with him he's either very good or very bad. No Matter what happens I'm still confident of a very good season!

Bluestu1878

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I agree we should remain optimistic. In the circumstances, I think it was time for Tim Cahill to move on - for him and us. We must, however, off-load Yobo, almost at any price - we can't afford to keep him on the wage bill.

Johnny Heitinga is an interesting one. On balance, I would let him go if we get a good offer, but I think £5m is too cheap for a current, experienced Dutch international - somewhere nearer £8m needed. To put it in perspective, Liverpool are reported to be paying £15m for Joe Allen from Swansea - who is he? Ok, it's Liverpool, but even so, I think it suggests that Heitinga at £5m is a steal.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jul 2012 13:48:29
So, I would just like to have the situations with Osman, Heitinga, Cahill and pineaar cleared up.
Is Osman leaving or has he left? Is Heitinga likely to leave and for how much? Is the Cahill deal official? And, are we close to signing Pineaar or are we still in the process of doing so?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

25 Jul 2012 13:46:11
Why is it our players are always under valued(in the press) ?
Baines £8m
Heitinga £5m
Yobo £2m
Cahill £1m
Arteta £1m
Piennar £2.5
Yakubu £1.5m

Where as rs players valuation like ngog £4.5m, babel £5.8,voronin (lol) £1.8m, Konchesky £1.5m, skrtel valuation was something daft like £20m

Some serious restructuring taking place. Kenwright would be doing everything possible to re-sign Moyes, and Moyes taking the opportunity to secure future financial commitment before he commits. While the commentary is all about banks recalling debt, the more likely scenario is that to secure long term player investment, the wage structure had to be overhauled.

In the past 12 months, Yakubu, Bily, Arteta & Saha have been moved out due to their super high wages vs their performances. Even Arteta who was a great player for Everton in his time, was earning much more than he was delivering back, and in the end (like Pienaar) requested to move. Cahill was destined for a bit-part role this year, and on serious wages was the right decision to move him on, Yobo the obvious other issue.

Distin, Neville, Hibbert & Osman are ageing but still useful. But essentially there is no point having Duffy, Barkley, Vellios, Gueye & Junior who can add serious value vs their weekly wage if we have OK players taking up spaces on big wages.

While we seem like we are a selling club, I still think that we have reached a cycle where players were over-valued in their wages (based on their most recent form), and we needed to move them on to generate space & value from our lower paid squad members, which is a good decision.

Everyone is getting impatient, but investment cannot be committed to based on intent, cheques need to clear before the finance controllers will allow new investment (contracts to be signed).

Pienaar, Phillips & a loan striker in. Donovan & Cahill back on loan in Jan. Still think we should all be positive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Heitingas not going!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jul 2012 13:18:38
Let me tell you all how it is:

1) Baines isn't going.
2) Heitinga isn't going.
3) Just because the lads from the rags say that half our squad is leaving the club DOES NOT mean that they are leaving the club.
4) If Pienaar is to move to another club from Spurs, it will be us, why oh why do people think he'd go to another prem club like QPR or sunderland, especially when they are smaller clubs.
5) Yes we don't have lots of transfer funds, but our club is well run, so you're stupid if you think we're going to become pompey or rangers or something. It's probably the other board members fault who won't put any money into our transfer pot.
6) Stop posting saying "Kenwrong out" or "Moyes out". You're stupid as well if you think that'd do any good, any one else in their positions and we'd be screwed.
7) Stop posting such negative things, most of the people of this site speak as though every rumour they hear is fact.

Big rant I know, but stay postive, transfer will come, big names won't leave and we will beat the mancs on monday the 20th of august!!

The to the first comment, the difference between my post and other people's is that I'm being POSITIVE. And why, can I ask, are you having a go at me for being positive? Do you want half the squad to be sold? It sure sounds like it.

Fenerbahçe supposedly put £5m bid for Heitinga I would tell them to shove it. They loan Yobo for 2 seasons then they want to haggle over the price which was agreed. Personally I believe the valuation is no where near what it should be yes johnny had good season how ironic it would be that every transfer window in the past him or his agent has made comments about leaving etc but this time he said he's happy. We need to have 4 cb in the squad jaglielka, distin, Duffy and 1more so if he was to go we need a replacement because I cannot see Yobo ever being made welcome back. Or maybe this is the season that rodwell moves into his original position. I am sure David moyes knows what he is doing and I have said it in other post we will have a better squad than last season

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Bundle Yobo in with the Heitinga deal. 7Mn both or just go back to 2Mn for Yobo.

Would rather Yobo off the wage bill and risk losing Johnny for a reduced fee in January. At least we will get 18 games from him in the meantime. If we sell Johnny and keep cant get rid of Yobo, then we get stung with close to 3 Mn in wages for the year without getting a game from him.

Ed do you think Johnny will leave? {Ed001's Note - it is very possible, last year of contract, holding off signing a new one, a number of clubs showing interest. It does seem likely, shame because I like him, I think his career would be best served staying at Everton myself. It must be said though, this is a chance for Rodwell to show what he can do in the position I personally think is his best. It might be best for Everton to get the money, put it towards Pienaar and drop Rodwell into the defence.}

I agree with all of them, except for Baines and Fellaini, who will probably leave.

Why are so many people coming onto the site and being soooo negative?

What's happened between two/three weeks ago and now?

We have got Naismith in, and Tim has left along with a few players who were never going to be part of the first team set up. Looks like Yobo has finally gone too.

The media has been banging on about Feli going or Bainsey going....and they are still at Everton.

Now the rumours about Jonny start (again), and Spurs play hardball about Pienaar. So what? Has Jonny gone? No. Timmy has gone, but let's face it, it is a good time for him to leave from both his perspective and the club's.

A few weeks ago there was genuine excitement at the prospects for the new season. We had a really good run in the latter stages of last season, and the squad is good. We have added to it with the signing of Naismith. For the first time in years we are lookign at starting the season with people who can finish the chances we have always created under Moyes.

I know some people would like Everton to suddenly have stacks of cash, but we haven't. I love the club just the way it is. We do things properly....about the only club in the Premiership that does (maybe Arsenal too, I agree). I do not want the whole ethos of the club to change because we suddenly get foreign investment....be honest, would you really want to support just another City?

Enjoy the club you have...it's simply great. It's not brash and trashy. It's just great.

So let's stop the negativity and get back to the excitement and expectation of a few weeks ago.

One thing I do know, when Man Utd come and play if there is an atmosphere of excitement and expectation, the players will pick up on it......but if the reverse is true, they will also pick up on that.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Some very good points there. I think everyones just getting a bit bored to be honest. As time is ticking the whole 'doing business early' thing goes out of the window yet again. It can be quite frustrating at times but I agree we need to be positive regardless.

Well said, I was going to have a major rant myself about the negativity floating about.
Next thing you know someone will post that the sky is falling on our heads and everyone will be running round in a panic.

Get a grip, man up and get behind whatever the club looks like when the season starts.

Just to add to this, we complain about lack of money... Arsenal has a 60,000 seat stadium and general admission tickets sell for up to £70 per ticket! We don't have that size stadium but even if we did it wouldn't matter as we struggle to fill Goodison... also our tickets and membership prices are alot more accessible price wise then many other clubs.

We need to improve our commercial contracts. Chang has been great but for what we are and our reach we should be earning alot more for shirt sponsor.

Merchandising is another Kitbag get a massive 'kick back' on all merchandising means only apercentage actually gets to the club.

If we can improve our commercial incomes we can grow at a far greater rate!

We need to stay positive have faith in Moyes, the players and the management and go as one unit into the first game against Man U.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, one of the great things about being an everton fan at the moment, is that everything means so much more, if we were the next city and we bought every trophy, they just wouldn't be the same as if we went and won the fa cup this season

Agree0 Disagree0

In theory your post is correct but it's pent up frustration which happens every summer you start positive and end up letting yourself believe things will be better and guess what there not.
We are a joke at transfers how can we loan someone out for two years originally agree a fee if six million then still need to haggle price and end up not selling the player.
Pienaar we want him but can't afford him it's shocking meaning other clubs start acting like vultures.
If we want some one we should know our budget and if we can afford it.
I would sell johnny to them cheating Turks and lieing gits.
I will keep trying to believe but again when you see others improve year in year it gets you down. Adi (miss u Cahill)

I couldn't agree more. This is the most sensible post I've read in a while. We are being scaremongered by the press and this will only be detrimental to the atmosphere at the games if it continues. We already have a good enough side to challenge for European places without bringing players in and with a good batch of youngsters coming through the future looks bright. Moyes isn't daft he knows what we have and what we need, have a bit of faith. If the rest of our signings are deadline day so be it, playing hardball with Spurs shows the integrity our club has.

Popeye {Ed025's Note - good post mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly!! What has changed since the end of last season?

Cahill has left, while a legend, would not have played more than a fill-in role this year and was highly paid.

Pienaar deal still likely, we have a new striker/quasi wide midfielder in. Club made a good decision about Rodellega, not worth the wages, Pranjic would have been nice but 31, and would be cover on the left rather than 1st team.

If we keep Baines & Felli, Rodwell, Barkley, Vellios and even Gueye are a year older and more experienced, and will give us some serious effective game time this year. Junior looks like a he can add something here and there when required.

The players that finished the season last year in so much form have been retained (assuming Pienaar signs) with one addition and some youth injection. The only significant exit was Cahill who had the least amount of impact since he joined.

If all the reports are true, there have been plenty of discussions that will or wont be finalised depending on what happens in the coming weeks. If there were no funds available whatsoever then why would scouts/directors/managers be spending time preparing other options...

£5million for Heitinga is half of what he is currently worth. He was player of the season and has played in the world cup final - he was terrible in the Euros though.
I think Moyes is getting rid of his top earners, Arteta, Cahill, Heitinga and Yobo. It could be good business as long as he replaces them or maybe he has one marquee signing in mind.

Blues starting to get edgy during a transfer window, nothing new there.

BTW has Naismith youth completed his transfer yet?

Nostrawigus

Believable1 Unbelievable2

1) Heitinga isn't going
2) Naismith completed his transfer weeks ago, thats why he's an everton player
3) He's not really youth, he's 25

How simple should pre season have been this year. Get pienaar back and keep all our best players maybe get a freebie or two, then there would be more than a good chance of european footy coming back to goodison, simple, not with kenwright driving he has to make everything a pantomime.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

It could have been simple mate, you're right, but it never is for us Blues. Sadly, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Look at how much of a shock it was with the Cahill departure. You never know, we could sign someone in a similar unexpected way. A bit more clarity from the club would be nice but we just have to trust them and be frustrated at the same time.

I don't know anything but normally when a company is about to be taken over they make a lot of staff redundant so that the new owners can start with a clean slate.

Perhaps we're losing so many players because a takeover is on the horizon and so the new owners arent stuck with a huge wage bill and load of players they don't want... Just a thought?

Heitinga for 5 Mil? Gotta be having a laugh, paper talk is always reliable for a laugh, if he goes, then shock of the summer in my opinion, quality player, loves Everton, plus Distin getting on, he's staying.

BlueCon

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Disagree. My take is that one good season is not enough. He says things in the press which can be negative or sometimes positive. He gives me the impression that he is not really a loyal servant like Cahill,Osmam,Hibbert; he justs wants to be thought as one - which is why he likes to give quotes to the media.
Just remember when he was trying to push for a move 2 years ago, hoping a bigger club would come looking for him.
My guess is that he is not one of the most popular characters at the club and that Moyes,an astute judge of character' has to ensure that above all - we maintain a special bond in the dressing room. He knows that when the going gets tough, weak characters impact negatively on that comraderie and prefer to look after themselves rather than the club.

If heitinga goes I really don't see baines leaving aswell when we have no replacements.duffy may have a chance starting line-up but also distin only signed a 1 year deal.its worrying at the moment.we have no money at all,the wage bill will look abit better with most of the kids cahill, yobo, heitinga(maybe) all off it that's better like but we need to faces in asap otherwise if we get injurys we are screwed big time.
