I don't understand why people are so bothered about Mirallas potentially leaving. There's no doubt he is a great player on his day, however his truly great days are few and far between. I'd like him to stay but I certainly won't be losing any sleep if he goes.

He is one of our better players and is a goalscorer too. We always seem to lack goalscorers. Unless we get someone better to replace him I do not want him to go as losing him would mean the team and squad weakening. I would very much hope he stays

He is our best player in terms of technical ability to the point where nobody in the squad is anywhere near him

Agree svenny, his importance is underestimated even if he is hot and cold at times

He is great performance but attitude in doubt.

Attitude has only been bad last 2 seasons. He was good before RM!

Another young player that we should look at is RB Leipzig's Yussuf Poulson.

I Havnt got a clue about his value or if any teams are looking at him but for me he can play as a ST or behind the St and he looks just a good as Lukaku and he cost 28mill.

I can't imagine him costing more than 10 mill, surely it's worth a look

Have you actually seen him play or just bought him on football manager? Honestly don't mean to be funny but I have a decent knowledge of football and haven't really heard much about him so a 10m price tag seems a bit much. If you have seen him a fair bit and he looks decent then I could clearly be wrong.

Possible only seen him live a couple of times but he first came to my attention a few years ago and I have kept tabs on him since.

To me he looks like the biz and when you think of who we have signed over the last few years in terms of strikers he looks better than Kone or Jelavic or someone like that.

I feel with players like this if there going to be any good we have a 1 year window to get in there before he's going to Chelsea for 30mill.

My main point Cropper is that we don't have the money to go out and buy a proven goal scorer. Forget lukaku who was a huge mistake at the price we paid imo.

3 weeks to go before he big kickoff; I just hope us fans want be kicking off due to the lack of investment in the team. I am getting worried we should of done the majority of our signings by now so they are settling in with the squad and playing pre season games to gel with the team. Well RM said he knew who he wanted and this is pathetic now. Still need CF.Creative M. Centre H and another winger. So 4 more players and time running out.

At this moment in time RM has weakened the squad and we are going backwards.

So ed any news on possible players coming in? Cheers

{Ed025's Note - i wish i could say yes zulu, at the moment it seems like it could be a very difficult season ahead mate..

25 Jul 2015 10:22:15
Unfortunately I agree with you ed; I think at this moment in time we will be fighting teams for 10th spot. Gutted lad

{Ed025's Note - im as sick as as a sea going parrot zulu, im just hoping that things change over the next couple of weeks and we bring in a couple of quality signings mate..but im not holding my breath..

25 Jul 2015 16:45:20
I agree more signings would be beneficial but give Roberto and my sanity a break how has he weakened the squad? Galloway and Browning from what I have seen look better than Distin and Alcaraz. Delboy is better than Atsu and Cleverly isn't replacing anyone. So how exactly have we become weaker without selling anyone?
Look we need a cb, a striker and ideally a number 10.
I'm fed up like the rest of you, I have not booked any of my normal 5 journeys to Goodison nor have I bought my kids the new kits for the 1st time ever essentially because the maths don't add up and I will support the team but until I see where my and our money is going I'm struggling to support the club right now.
However we can't start being ridiculous saying things like we are weaker when really we have simply got a slightly better winger than what we had last season and that's about the only change

Seems that a few manager´s heads (of the top 10) are on the line by Christmas. Van Gaal, Rodgers and Martinez. The first two are panic buying because they know they have a short time left to meet the demands of the owners. As for Roberto, he either squeezes the last bit of juice out of Piennar and Osman or he must find a creative playmaker in the next few weeks to save his neck. We have too many sideways passers, and Gibson has a radar but unlikely to get through a season without injuries. Hope one of the support staff are shouting in the manager´s ear what we have lacked for so long. the one who will split defences with a killer pass.

Agree with you Oscar but having a midfielder who can play killer passes must have someone who can make the runs to receive the pass we have 9 men behind any forward pass at any time in any game so you would also need attacking midfielders which we don't I get frustrated because I think martinez has a team in his head of all ball playing forward moving players but on the pitch is a different thing you could do what moyes did and have pinnear as you ball playing midfielder with the holding midfielder s to fetch and carry for him but Pissed off again new season same old same old I have seen us win leagues and cups but I'm afraid as the song goes and if you know you history I've seen ours made these poor young kids now are like lemmings go ever year to see nothing at the end except overpaid poor players walking around with there kids applauding the people who have the stomach to stay and clap them back they should hang there heads in shame but are off with there other half's 60 minutes later heading for sunny shores are players of old who created are history with blood (hickson gray Dean read) sweat and tears along the way must cringe at this lot now cob luv ya

I think that's the best post in ages. Everyone knows I go on and on about Osman. and last season proved his worth. At the beginning were ok. Then he got injured and we had a terrible run. Then he came back and we picked up again. Well I agree with you Oscar. especially about Pienaar. The combination of Osman and Pienaar has been badly missed. It is no coincidence that Baines and Coleman have both suffered with form due to no Osmann or Pienaar there to receive the ball on the half way line with backs to goal. Both are the best at holding it up then turning and setting the fullbacks away down the line. I am also annoyed that we are considering selling Mirrallas. our 2nd top scorer. We sign a donkey like Kone who is yet to score a league goal for us in over 2 seasons. and yes Swan. he has been injured! So what. he has also been fit for a long time! McGeady has got less confidence than Giant Haystacks walking over a frozen lake! Barry just looks past it. Besic looks promising but could be sent off at any stage. Cleverly clearly will struggle with the fans and if we sign Jonny Evans, I don't know a better way of getting the crowd on players backs! Lukaku, Besic and McCarthy are decent signings but the rest are terrible. I really believe our squad has gone backwards big time and I think we will struggle. I did like the Bayern player Shiquari or whatever he is called a couple of seasons back, but I hear he has lost it now. I put a controversial post on here 18 months ago stating we would struggle to break teams down and score goals if we kept on signing non scoring players. I stick by that post and if Lukaku gets injured or loses form like he did last season for a while, we will struggle. If Mirralas goes I think we are in big trouble. Negative I know! see it.

I wish I could Cobyone! I am actually quite happy except for the progress of EFC. This is a banter site and I am allowed to put my point of view across. If I thought everything was hunky dory and red roses, I would say so. I actually think things are far from it. I really think we will struggle this season.because of a lack of ability to break teams down. Enough said.

Agree Degsy and our lack of ability to get the quality signings we so badly need we will struggle this season.

That post not for you degs :) onto yours I do like pienaar and osman both can still do a job for us this season mainly as sub though I agree that Baines misses pienaar as they work really well together I don't want to sell mirallas his goals are important I don't think osman was a factor in us winning and losing for long periods last season no matter what way you put it, to say most Martinez signings are rubbish I disagree Robles good buy small fee, alcatrash bad buy but free,Galloway going be a top player small fee, got garbutt to stay, McCarthy excellent buy small fee for player like him, besic another top player small fee, Barry small fee not at his best anymore but great experience good player to have around squad, deulofeu could be martinez best buy yet potential to be world class again got him for next to nothing, clev never bin huge fan but think he will do alright do wonder where he will play can only c him playin instead of Barry again for nothing, mcgeady never expected much from him but cost very little anyway, henen exciting youngster small fee, leaving lukaku and Kone, lukaku big money but worth it IMO Kone prob his worst buy but also unlucky with long injury so I'll disagree that Martinez signings are all bad outta the lot you could prob question three rest are all good and young and no we are not going backwards I liked moyes but he is gone move on,pretty boring post that sorry if you read it lol

Like I said mate. all about opinions. y opinion is somewhat different to yours on most issues there but we will leave it at that except for Del Boy. I see lots of posters go wax lyrical about him. I see him as a very naturally gifted footballer (like a kid) who has no brain. He turns into defenders rather than going around them and I doubt he will ever fulfil his potential. I truly hope I am wrong but I see him as having one good game in every 10. The other 9 will stinkers. I hope I am wrong!

I'm with you on that way of thinking cobyone. I find it hard to believe we are not an attractive team for talent to sign for, with several England regulars inc. The best young CB in the PL (for now, at least), two top Belgian internationals, two top ROI internationals, a World Cup sensation goalkeeper (regardless of last seasons form), a Spanish prodigy, not to mention the legend that is Hibbo (ok, got carried away there!) to name but a few.
