Would like to see mgeady and Del Boy start on Sunday, they are both quick and direct potential to rip Fulham apart, we not only need to win but need to score goals to improve our goal difference!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think goal difference is a pressing issue. We are 3 behind Arsenal and 16 ahead of Spurs. Wins are all that matter really, a 1-0 against Fulham would be just fine especially given the high probability of City dishing Arsenal a mauling. We could be ahead of them on goal difference by end of weekend. Sure it would be nice to score loads of goals but not at the expense of leaving ourselves exposed at the back and not coming away with 3 points.

Hey Ed,
Can you explain if we are equal with The Arse on points and good what is the next line of to differentiation? Is it most goals, most wins, least losses?

Made up after tonight/this mornings result a very good Bday present for me!

Have a great nights sleep blues and enjoy the dream of European travel and the CL tune!

IRWT!

{Ed003's Note - Goals scored mate happy birthday.}

I thought it was goal difference?

Agree0 Disagree0

It is Goal difference, but if that is the same it comes down to goals scored.

Hi all, Can we start to believe, 6pts behind with a game in hand, and Arsenal to come at Goodison. At 3.30 on Sunday it could be in our own hands fourth spot. Most likely City will do Arsenal, possibly we might do Fulham and if that works out we will have our destiny in our own hands. Granted we will have to beat Manchester United but judging there performance tonight we have nothing to fear. Can see Arsenal dropping more points so we could still get fourth even if we were to lose to City. So all to play for, would'nt it be great if we went into the last game of the season just needing to win to be sure of fourth. COYB I believe.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I miss the stability that we had under Moyes :(

This trying to get 4th place is not on. Why don't we just settle for 6th or 7th like the glory years?

Agree0 Disagree0

And heres me thinking we reached 4th under Moyes, I think Osman may have played a major role in that season also. Nust have been a dream

Agree0 Disagree0

You are right sa90.

We did finish 4th once, and then we went and won the qualifier and played lots of games in the Champions League.

We didn't bottle it for once. I loved them Champions League nights. I'll remember them forever.

Please come home Moysie.

Hang on. Must have been a dream.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another jibe at stability, at the time we qualified for champs league the team we had were going to struggle no matter what, no one is asking for him back you donut and to assume that finishing 5th - 7th is no good when realistically there are 6 clubs that can spend more than us year after year says everything about you, we have a chance of 4th this year so just enjoy it rather being a kill joy its kinda sad

Flamini OG in the 90th minute now I genuinly have hope we can finish top 4, we should beat fulham while arsenal should lose to man city then if we was to beat them at goodison that would put us just behind them on goal difference with 6 games remaining. I genuinly believe we can finish top 4 and anyone know when Jags comes back.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are only 3 behind them on goal difference now, if we beat Fulham, they lose to city and we get a win when they visit us then I think its safe to say we would be above them in the league and goal difference! Then all we have to do is match or better there's results for the remaining games and were 4th :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

We could be ahead of them on good potentially. their good is +19 ours is +16 if they lose City & Us 1-0 that brings their good down to +17 we win 1-0 against Fulham and them our good goes to +18. BOOM!

I realised the goal difference thing after I postedit so yeah potentially we could be above themand I think the only games we have that we can't 100% win in man city at home and potentially arsenal at home but I think we can beat arsenal I shall dream of champions league nights and proper european football

Deloufeu was great tonight, as was osman filling the void of mirallas. Didn't even need mcgeady. Great performance both defensively and on the attack. Can't understand why they didn't start ben arfa, but I'm not complaining. Our centre mids matched and bowled over newcastle and that my friends is where games are won and lost. Our wings were also dominant against a poor newcastle side, happy blue here tonight as you all can tell and my wife is made up we won or she may have had me sleeping on the couch tonight! Onwards and upwards for the mighty blues while arsenal slip up on their first banana skin against swansea. let's concentrate on the next match ahead and carry this good performance forward and pray fouth spot is ours at the end of the season. Every game a cup final now and that message needs to be the focus around the training ground from now until end of may. Coyb

You deserved your win tonight.

Tonight proved how inept our manager and coaches are with their dinosaur tactics, no match for a real modern tactician like Roberto Martinez who I think can get you to 4th spot.

Coleman, Barkley, Deulefeu were fantastic. Brilliant goal from Ross, we just couldn't handle your attacks, dummett got absolutely destroyed.

When will my beloved newcastle united start playing attractive and attacking football like the ever ton's and the arsenal's do.

Proud of u jtoon to come back and not only humbly accept defeat, but praise our performance and management. I have a soft spot for newcastle and wish you all the best in both this and next season and as long as it's not at the expense of efc hope newcastle start to play this attractive football you crave and brings you back up the business end of the table fighting for European places.

We beat Fulham on Sunday and the arse lose to city that puts us 2 points behind arsenal with a game in hand is still to play them! 4th spot is very achievable!

Sorry 3 points not 2 :-)

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, All you Leon Osman knockers, Stand up, drop your trousers and get someone to spank you across your buttocks until you draw blood, and if your a fraction of the True Blue Osman is you might just bleed blue. Yes, the legs have gone but the man`s footballing brain is still light years ahead of others, his movement, his passing, his awareness, his body swerves, his goal. Was totally made up for the man. For any of us to pull on the shirt and run out onto Goodison Park and kick a ball in earnest for our beloved Everton would be a dream to end all dreams. This man has been pulling that shirt on for almost 400 games. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
I do love him. But not in a gay way.
BTW Fookin` great result. COYB.

People had a go at me when I said it would be a failure for Martinez if we didn't finish at least 5th this season.

Now do people see what I was getting at?

Mike is right yet again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Er no IMO if we don't finish 5th it still would not be a failure it may not be what we want but it certainly would not be a failure.

Anyone going to slate Osman today then?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Leon Osman is absolute crap and has been for about 4 years now.

A half decent game tonight changes nothing.

There you go mate.

25 Mar 2014 22:31:28
Usually agree with your posts mike, but on this one I can not. Although osman is getting older and his legs can't hack 60 mins never mind 90, his football brain is still there and he could play a useful role off the bench for 20-30 mins of each game to keep our attacking players like barkley, mirallas, deloufeu, mcgeady and pienaar fresh. This is where I personally see osmans role going forward if everyone is fit. It's also where I see naismiths role both this season and into future seasons is likely to be.

Something has to happen tonight. Every season, the big game, the momentum changer, the cup tie, when the pressure is on, no matter if it was Moyes or Martinez, so far, for far to long, the pressure games end in disaster.

Come on Everton, win tonight, Arsenal will feel the pressure, they could capitulate after the 6-0 drubbing, make them earn 4th don't just give it to them. If we keep on winning, we still have them to play at Goodison, we can, we really can with Tottenham make them crumble.

I will not be gutted if we lose tonight, the result is not so important for me, it is a cliche but its about the performance. Wigan last season in the Cup, Arsenal this season, Liverpool at Wembley prior, I could go on, we don't just lose the pressure games, we don't even do ourselves justice. Just do us and yourselves proud, play to your potential, the result will come then its almost inevitable as at our best we are better than them.

So come on Everton, the time is now don't make me write a stella fueled rant tonight
