Its a badge. Not the team. I do not like it, but it doesn't sway my love for Everton.

Very laudable attitude by the OP, but what if new owners, say from the far east, changed the club shirts to red - their lucky colour?q What if they changed the club name to something like Mersey Mandarins? What if they called our stadium "The Temple of Celestial Promise"? All way too far fetched of course, but many fans do see the new badge as a step too far already.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did we moan when it was changed in 1991, or 1978 maybe 1983? no! and its a far cry away from changing name or colour of the kit! a step to far! please! iv said before just over 20 years we had this badge, from 1920 to 1978 we had just efc, so that's our history, let's go back to that! its a bit off, but I think it looks worse because of the shape of the sheild. but all this i'm not buying that, or supporting this, let's petition here and there, its done! nike will already have it on all our kit for next season, nothing will change this season! and we will have no impact just like we have had no impact with them stupid blue union marches for new owners! stop finding something out of everything to moan about, everton football club is more than a 20 year badge! {Ed025's Note - thats your opinion mate..i will make my own mind up thanks..

I have just emailed the following to the club using my real name.
"Hello,
I have supported Everton man and boy through thick and thin for fifty years. I have remained loyal to the club whatever the disappointments, but the new badge is an absolute disgrace.
It's no wonder that "nil satis, nisi optimum" is missing from the new badge, as anything but the best seems to apply to the new design.
Any thoughts I might have had about buying a new replica shirt - or new entire replica kits for the youngsters in my family - have been completely destroyed by the fact that it would have this abomination of a new badge.
Judging by the overwhelming negative response on social media, I'm not alone.
My attitude remains "once a blue, always a blue" as far as supporting the team on the field, but I'll never buy any item with the new badge on it.
We are a proper football club with a proud heritage and devoted fans. In my opinion, the new badge is contemptuous of that heritage and devotion. As the "people's club", please listen to the people - not to some contrived unrepresentative marketing focus group that you might have used to approve this change to the badge.
No matter what rationalisation, explanation, justification, or whatever that you might dole out as the club's official line, the negative reaction of so many fans is a clear indication of a massive foul-up by the club in this matter.
I have used my real name and not used abusive/bad language so that you appreciate that I am sincere.
Respectfully,
My real name"

How does it read, my fellow posters? {Ed007's Note - Sid I am actually talking to Steve EFC on Twatter just now about the badge. I don't know if you guy know but he is a very talented artist/designer, he has designed a strip and badge (probably for college work), I'm sure he wouldn't mind me linking it up here, I'm not an Everton fan but I do think he has made a cracking job of it, what do you guys think?

That badge that has been designed by ed's mate is well better.
I read online though on evertons website they said the reason they changed it was because it was difficult to replicate the badge on certain media things, due to the text and small detail. seems a bit of a blag like, but even so, I think they would say the same about that badge that ed's mate designed.
good badge though, I like it.
i don't mind our new one, bit dissappointed nil satis has gone though.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree the new badge is a retrospective move, is totally unnecessary and robs us of our heritage.
The club should be concentrating on securing Vitor Perierra as our manager and not pampering to Nike or some wanton PR guru.
Nil satis nisi optimum - a motto that we should live by and NEVER forget.

Great that we've got ourselves in this tournament and playing teams such as Real, Juve, Benfica and both Milan teams will be great publicity. BUT everyone in the world will be watching this tournament despite it being pre-season and believe me if I wasn't familar with Everton and I saw that badge I would be laughing so much at it, quite embarrassing really that we are going to showcasing that piece of s**t. Anyway will be a good chance to test ourselves, see our new tactics and hopefully a few new players. Really looking forward to it especially seen as last year's tournament was cancelled.

Getting a bit bored now, people spouting crap from every angle I know this is a rumours site but people seem to be trying to outdo each other for most ridiculous and far fetched names possible, however one thing does worry me, at times like these Kennright usually refers to type and trys to get things 'on the cheap' This is not a time for penny pinching. The new badge is awful! It looks like something from a comic, does not reflect the history of our club and everything we stand for! I would like to think that it is the start of a new era in which we can start bringing home the trophies and becoming more successful. I'm excited about the prospect of a new manager and I'm pretty hopeful of retaining our players, one thing is certain, if we keep Fellaini and Baines then they must have had some pretty decent assurances about our future! Posters who submit views different to the majority of views on this forum are often accused of being reds from the darkside and not genuine blues. Whether that's right or wrong I can't know for sure, but there's something I am now very confident about: a blue submitting a post supporting the new badge is almost certainly being contrary just for the effect OR really is a red posting support for the badge as a wind-up.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Posters who login - and therefore have their "name" in a highlighted box at the end of their comments - are surely less likely to be submitting wind-ups than unnamed posters. I'm not accusing unnamed posters of being the only culprits re wind-ups, but anonymity is the usual cover. If the Eds made this website a "login only" forum that'd be sad, but at least for petitions (such as suggested about the new badge) it'd stop abuse by mischievous posters who vote multiple times to deliberately corrupt the result.
Eds: any views on this? {Ed025's Note - i would like the log in only status mate, but the site , at this moment in time, dont seem to agree with me..

This forum is suffering from premature speculation.
Lots of those posting rumours too soon are claiming it's never happened to them before. Yeah - right.
But it's completely understandable given the emotional distress of the end of a 11-year relationship.
Finding someone new is always difficult and it will take a time for things to get back to normal - but once things are bedded in, it'll all come together.
Everybody - just keep your peckers up and let the club rise to the occasion.
;-) {Ed025's Note - great post that jonesy...really cheered me up that mate...cheers..

On a positive note the change of manager has been very divisive the fans are completely as one on the badge!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 May 2013 19:04:28
I am usually supportive and loyal to the club, but I am disgusted by the decision to change the badge. Whoever chose the cheap and nasty new design has done a massive disservice IMHO to the the tradition of our great club. I can only imagine it's less expensive to produce and threfore increases the profit margin on replica shirts - not that our club seems capable of generating acceptable commercial income anyway! I dread to think what we'd end up with if the naming rights for Goodison Park (hopefully modernised in situ or a new location elsewhere in he city, but I'm not holding my breath on that) were up for offer. If the same clowns who redesigned the badge were also responsible for the naming rights, I fear we'd be watching football in something like "The Dyno Rod Arena", which would soon be nicknamed "The Stadium of Sh*te".
Even though we have no money and we haven't won a major trophy for nearly two decades, we are a proper football club with a proud heritage and devoted fans, but this new badge treats that heritage and those fans with complete and utter contempt IMHO.
Am I a solitary voice in his matter?

Many suggesting that Bill has set his heart on an ex player who knows the club.
To counteract this, I have come up with a cunning plan!
For all fellow VP wanters, if we were to have a 'whip round' we could hire a top hypnotist. He would appoach Bill in one of those top London restaurants, it might go like this.
'Bill look into my eyes, not round the eyes. stop eating your caviar and chips for a mo and reach for your mobile. Remember VP Bill? He once played for Everton and scored more goals than Dean, ring him Bill, yes now Bill before your pudding arrives, you must offer him the job Bill, when I click my fingers you'll find yourself back in the room'.
So whip round now, send money to ed (no la it's not your ale money because I know a top hypnotist so pass money onto me please).

Know this may not be how everyone feels, however, I am not in a minority of one. I am overjoyed to see the back of Moyes, and his back room crew, this is not a reaction to his move to united or the disrespectful way he has conducted himself since, but, his lies, about the circumstances, do not help. Still I can see why he went to their victory parade, he wanted to see what a trophy looks like.

Everton have unveiled the new club badge.

After an extensive consultative process involving season ticket holders, fan groups and branding experts the new evolution of the clubs badge has been unveiled to the press.

All I can say is which Microsoft application did the 6 year old use to design it and were any of the fans consulted Everton supporters?

On one of the pictures I see a oldish woman, I know who she is and she is a big everton fan, but also friend of BK, makes you wonder if the fans were hand picked!
But when you look at the full research and when you see it next to all the other badges, it don't look to bad, and we have only carried that style for just over 20 years, not our full history! And the tower actually looks more like it!
Not sold on it yet, but think it might grow on me to be honest!

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more pal, it's a shocker. Season ticket holder for most of my 47 years and no one consulted me, still, i'm sure they'll ask me who I think the new manager should be, after all, Kenwright said he would

I could have done a better job on MS Dos paint. I think we need to get the fans designing, vote on a winner and put it to the board as an alternative.

Just been shown the new club badge by my daughter all I can say is WHAT THE **** IS THAT! whoever designed it, and ( i'm guessing they got paid handsomely)and whoever gave the go ahead to accept it need smashing in the face with a sock full of diorreha. And those fans who were consulted, of which I very much doubt they where, but if did should hang your heads in shame. {Ed025's Note - that sock should be widely used jimmy mate..

I don't understand all these posts who say certain managers haven't got PL experience so let's not employ them! The majority of football managers, eat sleep and breath football, yes they might not have been in that league before but they know what it is about! Our previous manager, said in an intervew that he watches all the top leagues in Europe and watches their styles of play!

So please stop saying they have no PL experience because I would rather have Bilic, Pereira or Jrgen Klinsmann than have some of the persons that have managed PL teams! (Pulis, Hughes, Martinez, Redknapp)!

And Linvoy Primus, he's a 'smashing, t'riffic lad' according to 'Arry. We'll be seeing Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan on the touchline at GP next season.

Baines is a true professional he is talking about building on what we have and moving on without Moyes looking forward he is. Where as afro man is trying to sell him self to Manchester United never heard him say that many good things about Moyes before and here is the best bit I only want to play for a manager that really wants me hmmm che ching. I don't really care if goes I just hope Baines stays which I am confidant he will. Stef the blue

Totally agree, Baines staying is a priority, and even though I'd like to keep Fella I wouldn't be as disappointed if we cashed in on him compared to Leight

There's a lot more other cheaper alternatives for Fellaini but there's no one no who could replace Baines

As we finished 6th this season you would expect people to be queing up for the job. I find it a little worrying that nobody has actually come out and said they want it. Plenty have distanced themselves from the speculation though. This leads me to think Bill may pull a rabbit out of the hat with someone so far unheralded by the media and bookies.
Also why does nobody want Lennon because he has only won a 2 bob league but treat Priera as the second coming for pretty much doing the same.

Yes but Porto are a lot stronger than Celtic IMO. You would never see any of Celtic's players being sold for the amount that Moutinho and James just got sold for. And Hughes practically begged for the job and Lennon and Rafa (yes I know he's gone to Napoli now) hardly ruled themselves out, there are many managers who would love the chance to manage us and if the latest rumours are to be believed and we do offer Martinez the job, he will take it.

Lennon seems classless, angry and personic. Pereira seems intelligent, suave and has bettered Jesus' benfica 2 years in a row now. His transfer workings have been excellent, and he's the latest in the Porto line it seems.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because Lennon has only won the league when it became a 1 bob league. Pereira also went unbeaten this season against far superior teams than the SPL.

Just heard its going to be David Weir

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It will not be David Weir, either Martinez or Pereira.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is david weir get ye money on him now at 40-1 all hinges on martinez staying at wigan {Ed007's Note - Weir has been heavily linked with the assistant manager job at Hearts. I know it seems crazy, just letting you know what is floating around up here in Scotland.}

There is 1 or 2 people on here who were so sure about vp i'm starting to think there reds and they have been leading us on all along. what they were saying was quite beleviable but think they have had a laugh at our expense.

Solomon maybe but Svenny has been posting on here for years so he's not a red

Hi, I personally think that Robbie Di Matteo would be perfect for Everton job on the basis that he won't cost loads and he won't be always asking for money, for any players off Bill Kenwright. I also think he has twice been wrongly fired. So if offered the job he would want to except it to prove himself to Chelsea ( the club who he gave the champo league).

Not for me plays same squad every week does not do defending and its obvious he got a bit lucky with the cl getting 11 players behind the ball vs barca and bayern missing some great chances etc

Not a rumour, but is anyone else peeved that Moyes is conducting managerial duties for one of our rivals, whilst still contracted to us, as our manager? I just feel it is embarrassing and belittling for our great club. Let him go now and let's get our new manager in!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm disgusted with his behaviour. He's quoted as thanking two departing Manchester United members of staff for their contribution. The more he gets away with without criticism the more he does.

Its in the past, he is not our manager so let it go ffs, move on and let's look forward and stop hanging onto little things just so you can have a moan about something.

Who will be the next Everton manager?
Neville no chance no experience try again in 10 years
Stubbs big dunc weir new coaches with no league experience try again in 5yrs
Lennon McKay de Matteo average managers at best not big enough name
For Everton
O Neil Hughes pullis all crap managers
Stay away unless we want to go backwards bottom of the barrell
Redknapp could proberbly do a the job
At Everton but would we move forward
I think not
Martinez the early favourite try's to play
Good football can work under tight budget likeable guy but his win average
Is terrible and how many top clubs appoint a relegated manager the easy
Option IMO
Pereira this guy developed himself under mourinho and AVb then went on to win back to back titles has Cl experience an bloods young players he
Is no mug and would want assurences
On transfers would come with a point
To prove IMO the outstanding candidate
Come on Bk make the right choice

With this long winded manager saga going on who thinks man city Chelsea and even stoke will all have someone in place before we do it really is doing my head in we just need to know something anything at the moment with the speculation we will have more managers than playing staff so come on bill talk to us and put us out of misery!stefc

As we speak, player and agents are in the process of desiding where they will play next season, thus any further we delay in makeing an appointment, whoever gets the job, will find that the pool of good player, who might take us up a level, is very thin indeed.
