I'd actually claim the treble as 3 wins on bounce home or away :)

Just watched the match and have to say the energy once again was fantastic throughout the whole Team,3 vital points today and now moving away from the dropzone with a clean sheet as well, would just like to say a big thankyou to the lads this afternoon WELL DONE.

Well, definitely a work in progress but I'll take that

We looked solid defensively although some of that was down to Burnley's lack of ambition. Mina and Holgate cancelled out their attackers
Sidibe at wing back was a surprise but it worked. Coleman gave him the defensive cover he sometimes needs whilst showing some good attacking intentions himself
Offensively a little bit unexciting but we still created quite a few chances. Great cross and header for DCL's goal
Bernard looked lively and Siggs did well to win the ball for the goal
Ricky was always involved and Kean showed touches when he came on

CA's changes worked. All we could ask for really at this early stage

COYB NSNO.

The new role for seamus was a masterstroke. A few other tweaks too Bernard playing in the del piero position. Also the change in pace when the ball moved into the Burnley half. Loving it.

Bw2412. I like the fullback/ wingback configuration, it secures the flanks against the opposition. We also had a DM - Delph and in effect two AM's - Bernard and Siguurdson. All seemed to work well. Onwards and upwards.

I guess that's why we pay him the big money. I'd never of considered Coleman/ Sidibe both playing (and I don't remember hearing it from any other posters) but it worked a treat. Also Bernard was given a more flexible role and I thought it worked, same with Richarlison.

Early days but as you say onwards and upwards.

It's also good to see a manager who isn't afraid to play his preferred formation/ system on day one.

27 Dec 2019 15:57:16
Delph looks a better option in midfield, as he has more dynamism than Schneiderlin and is a better passer of the ball than Davies. Looked solid all over the pitch yesterday.

Coleman today. đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź hats off mate and I thought you was finished.

Yeah looked a lot better today. Might have had something to do with Sidebe being in front of him?

Really happy with that result and clean sheet to boot as well. Didn't expect Coleman and Sidibe to start if I'm honest but it worked. DCL scored a cracking header from a lovely cross from Sidibe. I thought Burnley were out of sorts today but regardless of that we persevered and got the much needed 3 points in the end.

Unbeaten since Silva left! Might not be pretty at times but effective. A lot of credit even at todays game goes to Ferguson for his positive attitude. Carlo and Big Dunc, a great partnership in the making.

Not sure how much you watch of Burnley but they don't get any better than that today Howie.
It's an awful flat 442 with 2 on the posts for corners. It doesn't get amy better than that for the Burnley fans.

Your right mate up the table we go.

26 Dec 2019 21:13:35
They’re like a modern day stoke, very physical and direct, I thought Siggy pulled his finger out today and was getting stuck in and won the ball to pass to sidibe. On another point did the commentator on Amazon really annoy anyone else with his pronunciation of the players names.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2019 22:45:43
I turned the commentary off and just had the stadium sound. Like being at the game haha.

27 Dec 2019 05:14:27
Yes Big C, he was over doing the “son” on Richarlison and Sigurdsson. Started to distract me towards the end. I think he would have bust my telly if one of them had scored.

27 Dec 2019 14:52:21
Yeh the commentary was shocking. I noticed the son exaggerating lol. And why we have a sudden influx of women commentating and being pundits I don’t know. I am not be sexists before any jumps on that. My point is the level of football that the lady pundits have played at is lower league and don’t think they have a good knowledge of elite football so cannot take their opinions or their explanations serious. If there was a player from Accrington Stanley on Super Sunday I’m sure someone would say something. Unfortunately we live in a society that we can be honest incase we get judged as sexist etc. People should get jobs on merit not on gender or race to be seen as PC. Surely there are better ex elite players who can give their opinions as pundits/ commentators.

It was Sue Smith co commentating. She’s a Toffee just like us. She’s often on Sky and to be fair she knows her stuff. As all blues do.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2019 16:55:41
40,000 inside Goodison park know their stuff doesn’t mean they get to be paid for commentary. I also think Alex Scott is knowledgable of the game but not at the top level in the men’s game. Just my opinion and interested to see if it’s just me on this maybe it is.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2019 20:07:47
Its just you i think Singing the Blues. There's nothing at all to suggest a woman or lower league male player is any less knowledgeable about 'elite' football. If they're passionate about the sport and hoover up all available information like many of us on here do, then why not let them fairly get involved (especially if they can string a complete sentence together unlike some ex-pros doing the job)

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2019 20:18:13
Always good to hear other people’s opinions. I agree not all ex pros who have played elite football are great. Look at Paul Merson, Steve Mcmanaman and Michael Owen.

Is it just me or is anybody else really excited to see the team sheet and formation for CA's first game in charge? Obviously I'm hoping for 3 points to get his reign off the mark and a clean sheet would be nice but Burnley are no mugs. Whoever gets picked for the team I just hope they do well and we don't pick up any more injuries. I'm really not sure what to expect or if we'll play any different but do know I am excited about it.

With you there Howie mate 3 points today, Bring It On.

26 Dec 2019 12:30:39
Me too Howie. Carlo has said he isn't going to change too much in the short time. I do feel we will see the team sheet and formation and there will be something we didn't expect though.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2019 12:48:57
3 points yes but let's keep our expectations in check. Tricky opposition but even with our sick bay heaving, should have enough plus the Carlo bounce and the Old Lady will be on form. Short of a disaster, should be good 3 points.

No surprises for team selection. Maybe a sub or 2? I'm looking out for a reaction from 1 or 2 for sure. Even in the few days the new man's been in, I think Sigs and Co have to show they're re motivated and put in a performance.

Just watched Howard's Way the Docufilm about the 1980s brilliant brilliant, highly recommended to all Blues especially new management team as it shows what it means to be a blue, although I think they get it already. I have to confess to having a tear at the end.
