Now Wednesday night and the fraud is still in a job. i'm hoping it's just due to us being respectful towards the families of the hillsborough victims and not making an announcement at the same time. 4 league games left in what's been a disaster of a season. Sack him now, leave unsworth dunc sheedy or big joe in charge til end of season. Blood a few youngsters and step up search for new manager now. It will give us a head start as signing players will be harder due to euros so we need new guy in charge ASAP to get business done early.

27 Apr 2016 23:17:10
I presume as usual some of the backroom staff will go. I think some of them may have to take some blame too. The new manager usually wants to bring in his own staff. Just hope the new guy is one who can attract the players needed. I don't think many would want to come to Moyes and he seemed to have a problem dealing with big names. Eddie Howe while highly rated has yet to cut his teeth and could not attract big players at this stage of his career. It all depends how much Morishi is prepared to pay to get his man. Same old same old each season really gets you down. OK two semis this season but no real hope of what I would call progress where it counts.

29 Apr 2016 14:15:46
Talk is of Hughes (but in the lazy papers so make of it what you will) , personally someone is just grasping at straws. Isn't Hughes of similar ilk to Moyes I.E. he will have us top 8 but that is it. Part of the problem in attracting a profile Manager is Mr Kenwright, Everton is his toy and he needs to let go of the reins for any real progress to be made.

Instead of wasting time n Mr. Bean at the game on Saturday, better we spend our time singing. "stand up for the 96" or
"justice for the 96"
I know we are blue's, but I for one have felt their pain for the past 27 years.

I've seen some stuff about ross barkley of late and I tend to agree with it he is only young and a blue nose so this must be hurting him as much as us all the only thing different is we are not being told to go out play awful football and always pass it backwards rather then run with ball which we all no is one of barkleys strong points I think we should really get behind this lad I've been to games and we are so quick to jump on his back I think he is a lad that needs the fans backing Spanish bob will be there until the end so no point banging on about him I would like to see dowell get a game as well before long all our local boys will be playing at other teams time to show a bit of love .

27 Apr 2016 19:23:29
Agree with all of that's about ross and Dowel. Regarding the young kids. what's happened to Henin and the young South American striker we bought last year. They were both supposed to be full of promise. anyone know how they are doing?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 19:56:37
They both went out on loan. Hennen to Fleetwood for a few months but is back now and Rodriguez to Brentford (think he is back too) .

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 20:53:51
Konehead, of course Martinez tells him to go out and play awful football, contrary to popular belief he also doesn't have a remote control to make the players pass the ball that is down to the player anyone who has ever played football knows that a manager can give instructions but the player decides who to pass to or when to pass it.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Apr 2016 17:11:44
Been thinking about all the recent posts saying we should get this guy or that guy, and all are big name managers. But ask yourself, when have we ever gone out and got a really big name manager. Certainly none that you would call Champions league level. Therefore given our history if Martinez goes my money would be on Howe. Hope I am wrong and we do get a marquee manager. But history doesn't support this.

I can think of one major difference this time 'round.

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Apr 2016 00:51:02
What would that be? If it's our new owner let me remind you he does not have control of the club, is not a board member, and to date has done nothing other than buy shares in the club. As for those who disagree with what I've said explain why. Name a top manager we have brought in?

What's the chance ed of Martinez going soon . I've heard after June 1st . we will save money sacking after that date?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - This has been done to death. Read the posts please.}

27 Apr 2016 20:20:33
We might save money on sacking him but if we drop any further down the league with him in charge we will lose out on place prize money. Damned if we do and damned if we don't.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 15:02:05
What if Martinez does stay?

First of all I think he needs to go but if he does end up staying what are we as fans going to do?

I don't think it is healthy for the club and the players with the current situation regarding the fanbase. Every home game is eerily quiet and the only fan Interaction are occasional boos. I know we are unhappy with what's going on but the toxic atmosphere at home games isn't helping and i'm sure its linked with our performances. e.g video of jags having to tell barkley we weren't booing at him at half time in wembely. Must be effecting the poor lad.

What's the difference between now and moyes regin? We nearly got relegated one season under moyes yet some regard him better than Martinez and want him back! Don't you remember the standard of football we had at times under him?

Yet under moyes the atmosphere was arguably the best in the league and contributed to our performances.

All I can say is I think we need to get behind the team and players and make goodison electric again no matter who is in charge and how the results are going. The club needs it.

Final point, the board aren't stupid especially now we have been invested in. I think we need to trust they will do the correct thing in the end. Rash actions by the board and fans isn't going to do our great club any good at all.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Just to be clear, as of this time there has been no investment in Everton per se - simply shares changing hands.}

27 Apr 2016 15:36:41
Ed002: good point about FM buying shares not being the same as him making funds directly available to the club.
No doubt, FM's involvement will facilitate improvement to the financial management of the club, but your previous point about "investment" being financed primarily (entirely? ) by the television money and outgoing transfer fees is also well made.
The club needs a strategic plan - for both on and off the field - that makes it a self-sustaining, sensibly financed, professionally run and successful (winning! ) concern.
There is no easy road to success - even if a "big name" manager/ coach rides in on a unicorn sprinkling fairy dust and waving a magic wand.
It will take intelligence, determination, courage and patience to make it happen.
I just hope that the fans (me included! ) can stop our knees jerking when things aren't going brilliantly.
However, I still want RM replaced - I just don't know by whom :- (

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Right, that is a pretty good summation. Sid.}

27 Apr 2016 15:42:38
Moyes did have two bad seasons in 11 which isn't bad given how little money he had. Martinez has had one good season in 3 and the club is moving backwards. I believe it was Moyes' effect on our backline which was still tight and organised that allowed Martinez's attacking football to be result effective in his 1st season. I believe Roberto isn't the man to take us forward but I'm not sure who is. Some of the names we keep saying are crazy, we won't be the next Chelsea or Man City overnight despite Moshiri's finicial clout. Let's look at the Leicester model get a good solid coach and fix the problem areas of our squad. Top 6 and hopefully a trophy would be incredible next season but that is no guarantee, we need some patience.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 15:56:50
In his last season as manager with us Moyes was booed at many home games because of his negative substitutions.

Anyone who was at the Norwich game in that season would see a lot of similarities to this with Martinez.

He used to get screamed at to put a striker on or an attack minded player to go for the win. He also used to complain in his press conferences as to "what do we expect of him" when questioned about it.

Stop looking at his management with rose tinted glasses.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 16:02:38
Great post Sid. I think the club is moving forward in every level except the senior teams results and performances (which to most people is the most important) .
Martinez has many fans and supporters of his Management style at Everton FC and i've heard this from a person within the club.
I too think he will have to go because his relationship with the fans is completely broken leaving his position untenable.
Who we bring in to replace him will need time to build their own squad of players and put their footballing tactics in place. Unfortunately like the majority of EPL clubs, patience is not something many fans seem to have.
The end of this season cannot come quick enough so we can move on and build for the next. Who knows we could do a Leicester next season, we now know its not impossible COYB!

27 Apr 2016 17:34:58
Yeah ed I know but you understand what I meant the incoming investment (new stadium etc hopefully) .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The stadium will become a reality.}

27 Apr 2016 17:48:00
The omly defence I can say for martinez is we have scouted and been linked with a lot of talented player who have gone to other clubs and been a hit. Batysityu, yarmalenko, payet, tadic etc were out of our price range and younger players have been blooded to quite good success. if he stays with finance added who knows. But I don't want return of moyes at his expence. top manager needed.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Apr 2016 11:32:21
Choice between Martinez and Moyes, then Moyes every time. This fella if he stays (and I must say the longer it goes on the more and more likely he is going to stay) , we are certainties for relegation, probably even next season especially if he does not admit that his tactics need to be flexible.

Any names not been mentioned that could be in the running Ed should Bobby get the chop?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am sure there will be a number that will need to be considered but I suspect most have been mentioned.

27 Apr 2016 13:35:09
I posted the other day Bobby will be sacked, but now I don't think so and there is one man to blame for this and that is mr Kenwright Bobby is in for a bashing on saturday from the fans and the board know this but are going to let him face it shame on them I just hope it does not get out of hand. I want Bobby gone aswell but will feel sorry for him on Saturday as he is for a lot of a abuse .

27 Apr 2016 15:56:25
He can always resign.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 21:17:28
Why is Kenright to blame?
Just because the fans demand him gone the board don't have to agree. According to a post above Martinez has many fans within the walls of Goodison. Many of these people know how to run a football club. Maybe they can see the good that Martinez has done, granted the results have not been great but it is not all Martinez fault.
The only way the fans are going to get what they want is to put the money up and buy the club, until that happens we can bitch and moan all we like but the board can do what they believe is best regardless of fan opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 12:04:12
Ed002.time to move on and have a mature discussion. In most organisations, especially football the manager is the figurehead and helps to build or knock its reputation. Surely the negative press we are getting about the manager press conferences and the football we play (he picks players, tactics, etc) , will play on the board. They are in it to make money and as such require a relatively successful product. If they feel it is not successful or will not be in the future then they will make a change?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There won't be any negative press bothering the board - their focus is elsewhere and they will not react without conscious thought to simply sack the manager. They may be forced, by the fans, reaction to discuss the matter before they planned - which would be at the end of the season. They are far more concerned with much bigger matters relating to the long-term future than to be dealing with this matter right now. If forced they will but it is ill-advised of the fans to antagonize the board of teh team they support. Press conferences related to the games are not something the board will care about at all although I am sure Mr Kenwright will have a handle on what is said. The club need to take advice in order to make the right decisions. Forcing them to do otherwise could result in issues further down the line.}

27 Apr 2016 14:57:00
Everton are a high profile Club in a high profile business, it is foolish if not naive to state that negative press from the press themselves, pundits, fans and others will not bother the board, that is a simple statement of fact. As to Martinez, some posts are bordering on the personal and that is just not right. Concentrate on the position he holds and for me whether he is a nice man or not is neither here nor there, for me he is a bad man-manager, an awful tactician but wonderful waffler, who will in my view, if allowed to remain make this Club go the way of Wigan.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is neither foolish nor naive.}

27 Apr 2016 15:45:51
Ed002: I'd guess that "the much bigger matters relating to the long-term future" are to do with infrastructure - mainly the stadium and, maybe to a lesser degree, the training and academy facilities - and managing (eliminating? ) the club's debt.
It's also vital that the club stays in the Premier League and continues receiving the huge annual television money - and that's where having the right manger/ coach is surely vital.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but those who will be investing in the ownership of the club see the much bigger picture. They will need to take advice on the footballing side as many clubs do.}

27 Apr 2016 15:53:23
It shocks me slightly that the board would almost ignore the football side of things. Surely as a football club, what happens on the pitch is a priority as opposed to an afterthought. I agree there is so much going on behind the scenes and I would imagine Mr moshiri has other businesses to deal with.
We all need a successful product, from training complex to merchandise and most importantly a new stadium, if possible but we generally focus on the entertainment side of things, I. e. What happens on the pitch. Which is why fans are venting. Because we feel (although we are not experts) that martinez time at the club has ran it's course.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They are not ignoring the football side and would look to deal with it on their own terms and not the terms of the fans when there are only three or four games left in the season. Mr Moshiri lives in Monaco and much of his business is done in Russia. He will be taking an active role in respect of the stadium.}

27 Apr 2016 17:09:02
I agree Ed002. I don't think there is much difference in sacking him now or at the end of the season. Either way getting a new manager in is not going to be during the closing stages of a season.

Sometimes we all look at this as if we are running the club but it is totally different on the inside and as a business you have to be patient and assess everything before making massive decisions. Changing a manager is the biggest one relating to the main objective of a club.

I do think he will go but at what stage? I would put money on it being after the final game.

The one thing we can all have now is a bit of patience whilst this runs it's course.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 11:25:23
Just a question, ed002, how many eds are there per club? We generally see you and Ed 025 the most on here?
Ed 25 is a blue, I presume so why don't you mod the Chelsea pages and leave us blues aline?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - There are a lot more Liverpool supporting Eds than others. But Editors are not tied to clubs they support.

As I have repeatedly said but you are clearly unable to grasp, don't bother reading anything that has Ed002 next to it and then you don't need to embarrass yourself by jumping to the defence of other posters because you feel I am not being nice enough to them. Others of course will be interested in what I have to say regarding transfers etc.. If you want to take that away from the other Everton supporters simply because of your ignorance and spite, we will have to look for a different solution.}

27 Apr 2016 11:53:46
Personally, ed002 is by far the most informed ed on here (no offence intended to the others especially 025 who does a great job here) . Although he can be a bit brunt, he has to deal with a lot here. If he stops coming on our page with genuine information we are left with rumours and thoughts. Although that is ok, I would much prefer to also have actual information.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps I could start all of my posts with tales of unicorns and rainbows to make them less brunt Cropper. Perhaps a webcast each evening of me reading stories around seven thirty, just as they are all settling down?}

First, Ed002, your insights and efforts as a moderator are appreciated.

Second, unless some of the posters are secretly a player, agent, or managers, we a a big conglomerate of passionate amateur fans who want this Grand Old Team to win, and do so with relative humility and dignity.

Third, it is clear that RM has been unable to move Everton in the right direction. From what I can tell, he seems to be a nice guy. I'd be glad to buy him a beer, but things just are not working out. I wish him well.

Fourth, I need to check my own emotions at the door. No one wants to be successful more than the players, managers, and owners. They will consider the coaching future of the team and move forward.

Let's make a mark the last 4 games and not be the ones that watch the Foxes celebrate the title. COYB.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Good for you.}

27 Apr 2016 17:20:08
I can't stand Ed002 sometimes and he sounds spiteful and rude. I've even resulted to insulting him at some point and calling him unprofessional. How unprofessional am I though for doing it.

He does though give a very cold assessment which sometimes we need. We could all do with a reality check especially when things are bad and we wouldn't get that maybe from another Evertonian.

As for the insulting or rude tone. I've had a million times worse down the pub with a few away/ home fans than what is put on here.

I do appreciate the effort put in by all the Ed's and you can have this as an apology ED002 for anything I may have said in the past.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no need to apologize and I am never rude at all, perhaps a little too honest and straight forward on occasion. I understand that you are just an ordinary football fan (a shaven-headed, lager-swilling, pot-bellied, tattooed, knuckle-dragging oaf - for want of a better term). Have a great day BigJohnUns.}

Ed, I know it's highly unlikely but if the players refused to train for martinez or refused to play under him, would the board have to take some action against him? The players don't seem to wanna play for him if we believe what were hearing.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Twitter is this? If the players refuse to train then the board will take action against the players and the reserve or youth players will play for the rest of the season.

I have to say again that a lot of the Everton supporters have little or no grasp on reality.}

27 Apr 2016 09:59:35
No I don't follow twitter,just curiosity that's all.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Clearly if this is what you are "hearing" it is coming from Twitter or some similar social media outlet.}

27 Apr 2016 10:21:14
How about this for logical thinking then. I believe the Club are getting ready to announce that Mr Martinez is staying. My theory is based on the comments from Robles and Unsworth in particular, maybe these are the only two the Club could find to come out in support, I don't know but perhaps.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2016 10:30:35
Ed002 your reply to daneefc was a bit harsh, he just asked a question. Saying that a lot of Everton supporters have little or no grasp on reality is in my opinion wide of the mark.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - It was not harsh at all - do you seriously think the players going on strike to force the board to sack the manager is what is going on at the training ground today? But that is what he is "hearing" - and not from Twitter apparently. You should read a lot of the posts of others to decide for yourself about people having a grasp on reality. One simple post on Twitter and suddenly everyone's friends who work for Everton are spreading the word that Martinez left on Saturday night, emptying his desk and taking his stapler with him.}

27 Apr 2016 10:43:17
Ed. it's obvious we don't see eye to eye but everyone is just speculating and even in the days before social media, everyone was still jangling in the pub. All dane did was offer a theoretical point. this is all due to the club neither sacking nor supporting the manager. we have spoken about how you speak to people. Only my opinion but surely just leave it at your explanation of the players being disciplined and youth players playing. No need to insult blue fans. we know you don't like us because you support Chelsea but please be courteous.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Idiotic - I don't dislike you or any other supporters. I would strongly advise you and others who are unable to cope with anything being said in a straightforward manner to simply not read anything I post. Therefore you will be perfectly happy and not needing to write these whining posts.}

27 Apr 2016 10:44:19
Ed002 of course I don't think that the players would even consider not training to try to get rid of the manager.

I just thought the grasp on reality statement was uncalled for, obliviously you don't.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A large number of the fans clearly don't have a grasp on reality - my advice is not to read anything I post.}

27 Apr 2016 10:46:59
There is more to the world than twitter ed. Everton fans are a close knit group so maybe, just maybe I and others hear things off other Everton fans and we go from there. As we're always told this is a rumour site and I was only asking thru curiosity but thanks anyway ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - If this is what the other fans are saying it rather demonstrates my whole point.}

27 Apr 2016 10:59:55
No disrespect ed but I thought the point on this site was rumours and banter, therefore we post rumours and ask questions but u can be rather blunt and harsh and don't have conversation with others. You just say it your way and that's it, maybe that's just your personality though or Chelsea fans in general as u seem to say Everton fans have no grasp on reality, maybe to u Chelsea fans it's your point that matters and no one elses

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Firstly, it has nothing to do with Chelsea or "Chelsea fans" - so putting all of that nonsense aside for a moment, I have no problems if you wish to ask me about transfers or how clubs are run and, generally most other things about the game. There will always be a few things I won't answer and I will say so if something arises. As for the "banter", it is very poor on the Everton pages. There is little or no reasonable banter and the pages are generally full of people spewing hate over Mr Kenwright, the manager and many of the players. It is tedious and boring - I get that most people don't want Mr Kenwright at the club, I get that they don't want Mr Martinez at the club and I get that they don't want many of the players at the club. They don't need to say it over and over again, it is tedious and boring - but they do. They are in many cases unable to articulate any meaningful "banter". This is not simply an Everton issue, the Liverpool fans struggle in a similar way, the Chelsea & West Ham pages have little banter and fewer posts, the Manchester United banter degraded in to nonsense in the same way as the Everton banter has. So my advive is when you ask a question, put a little not that you don't want me to answer it and I will find an editor from another page to help you out. Otherwise, when you see "Ed002" written against something, just skip over it.}

27 Apr 2016 11:06:57
Not whining. Just saying you can't tar all Everton fans as losing grip with reality.
We are just speculating. Liverpool did it when Rodgers went, Chelsea after mourhino, etc. because nobody knows what is going on with the club, INCLUDING yourself, we are just guessing.

I don't think anyone has posted that they know 100% what will happen. They are just posting rumours and heresay. This is a rumours site after all.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are whining and you did not read what I posted. I did not say "all" I said "a lot". Twisting things to suit your own needs is absolutely pitiful and very, very embarrassing. One by one your posts are degrading in to drivel. As I explained, I would strongly advise you to simply not read anything I post.

Your repeated posts about me (particularly the "southern softie" nonsense) are making you look rather stupid.}

27 Apr 2016 11:29:47
I only post about you because the vast majority of people and eds responses on here make it a good read, you just seem to want to show people up, shoot them down and show a complete lack of emotions. in all fairness I can't remember the last time I saw you agree with any post on here.

Football has got where it is because it stirs emotions in us and we display passion and sometimes this does come out in aggressive posts and drivel. But as I have said before all fans of all clubs do this and it is not solely an Everton problem.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The Liverpool supporters suffer exactly the same idiosyncrasy as you - they too have the constant need to deflect and drag other clubs in to everything. You might do best to step back a little and try and understand that the club is not simply about 11 players kicking a ball around on a Saturday afternoon. Their is the academy to consider, the stadium issues, the need to bring in new and fresh sponsorship and a whole bunch of other stuff the Everton fans are simply ignoring. They are screaming for knee-jerk reactions to be as disruptive as they can be. Perhaps it is the "passion" you mention, but simply looking at this one part of the club will all end in tears.}

27 Apr 2016 12:46:44
Although Ed002 and I have had some disagreements, I think his point is spot on.
I have seen very few posts on here that have critised the players for the results and yet there is only so much a manager can get the players to do once they are on the pitch and yet because this is our best squad for 30 years they seem to be exempt from being blamed.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and yet when you hear the same arguements over and over again that have very little substance and are usually hearsay and not based on facts it becomes tedious, so I can understand why he says things the way he does and why he says we should be more realistic.

Si going off on a slight tangent there are a number of posts questioning squad and martinez' methods/ tactics, formations. etc. What we have to remember is that every have played very well sometimes this season and blown games away in final moments, e. g. Norwich, Bournemouth, west ham to name but a few. Yes the players are accountable. they play their part. I think the reason most fans are jaded is because its the same mistakes over and over again. a lot of which is due to formation and tactics. e. g. Putting on john stones at half time when losing 2-0 at home. perfect opportunity to play another striker with rom. etc. If Martinez is our manager ill keep supporting and if he just tries something different ill b delighted. good luck to him. if he pulls a sir Alex brilliant. as a fan u just need to see something. some attempt to changing it. nit the same old thing and the same old excuses. just try somethingronerto. it may pay off.

What's with all the Eddie Howe shouts yes he is up and coming but what has he acheived nothing we as a club now have a wealthy backer and it's time we started to act like a big club again by appointing a big name manager De Boer Koeman Pellegrini or Mourinho it's time we started shopping in M&S and not Netto.

There is absolutely no evidence in Martinez Premiership CV that he can improve this Club but there is solid evidence that he can take us down. Everton do themselves no favours, lack of communication from a hopeless PR department only exasperates and frustrates a very loyal fan base, making some elements very angry indeed. Should the board decide to retain his (Services) they are doing themselves no favours, the atmosphere on Saturday win, draw or lose will be absolutely toxic.

I have been saying this since the Derby it spilled over at Wembley but at home to Bournemouth it will be toxic and I am dreading it. The only reason I am going is firstly to support the players 2nd like 1000's of others to make our feelings clear that Roberto should be removed.

Danny Murphy throws his two penny worth praising RM, claiming he signed Stones.
Don't you just love these numpties who believe Martinez is a great manager?
They're not Evertonians and really should shut up as their knowledge of our history and his tenure are lamentable.

Yes he talks a load of rubbish but he did not claim Martinez signed Stones, he said Stones was signed in January 2013. That was before Martinez. There are quite a few ex-players that are only pundits and not coaches or Managers and that is because they may have been good players but they are crap at everything else, Murphy and Shearer fall into that category.
