Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

We are a club that is usually very cautious in it's spending, with the exception of Lukaku, which I still maintain that as an instalment plan is actually a decent bit of business as long as Lukaku brings in at least 20 goals a season - if that happens you know you're getting what you paid for. Imagine if we'd have paid that much up front for him to turn out to be a donkey like Kone. That would be bad business. We can't just wade into transfer negotiations like the big spenders of the PL. Van Gaal can smash office doors in with his big, battering ram forehead and throw a wad of millions on the table and then that's it, no other club will get a seat at the negotiation table. Brenda can ask for his transfer pocket money from his American sugar daddy, but only buy players from a list that more than likely the owners son has gathered from players he's sort of heard of on his soccer video games.
Wenger can butter up and coax the likes of Ozil into his team, acting all nicey nicey, but then publicly rip them apart when they don't play well.
City will just buy any player these days, as long as they are young and English, because it looks good on the books. Then doom them to being bench warming shadows of their potential who beg to be rescued by Sunderland and Swansea four years later.
Chelsea will splash tons of cash on whomever they like, filling their ranks with quality from every corner of the earth, but forgetting that they can only field 11 world class players at a time, then sell them off like a bored spoiled child trading Pokemon cards.
Everton on the other hand watch. Observe. Wait. Take opportunities when we can. Keeping quiet in the transfer window is a good tactic, as we don't have the cash to match the big spenders, but we've bought players while waiting to see what other clubs do first. We might not like it as fans, but we've made some great, unexpected signings that have worked out well. We don't always get it right - for every Baines, Jags, Stones etc there's an occasional Russian Billy or a Kone, but when we get it right, we get a McCarthy, Lukaku, Mirallas and so on. I know it's frustrating, but softly softly catchee monkey has served us well for years.
As long as we do sign someone though. Otherwise I'm talking out of my Mourinhole.

Not many people like levy from Spurs but look what he did with modric and bale set a price and stool to it. Look at the players he bought with bale money. All he done was said this is the price pay or go away.

Ed can you honestly see us selling lakaku, stones.
I hope it's not what they done with Rooney, last minute deadline day so we can't buy anyone.

{Ed025's Note - its hard to say pb, there will be a riot if we do mate, myself i dont think either will go in this window..but that could just be me wishing..

27 Jul 2015 21:14:57
If Everton want to quash all these rumours then all they have to do is have the chairman come out and say they are not for sale. If they let Stones go for 26m, then they are practically telling every other club that they can be bullied into selling cheap. We keep getting told we are not a selling club, fine make Chelsea an offer for Hazzard for 30m, see how they react. Doesn't matter if we have the money or not. Let's just piss them off. How about offering the Mancs 20m for their keeper (we need one). Come on Everton fight back for Christ sake!

same old start to the season ed all the papers are trying to sell our players the board have done nothing even bill has only spoken to the Newcastle express Spanish bob just gets boring why can't anyone come out and say we are not selling our better players but then again if we don't sign one centre half and another striker/playmaker we will be in the same boat as last season so why not cash in on our better players we all moan but since the late 80s its always been the same we are worse off than stoke/west ham/Swansea even Newcastle and c place have spent money the problem is because we spent 28m on one clown every everton expected the same this year but that was 5 years transfer money spent in one go and the board now we have assists to recoup that money

I know I sometimes upset people with my views on Kone, McGeady, RM, Moyes and particularly Osman. all the people who have had debates with me will confirm this. There is one thing that I will say again and people can judge my views as the season develops.I firmly believe that Moyes was 10 times the manager that Martinez is. I believe the signings Moyes made got us into the position of playing fast flowing exciting football that had us challenging for Europa League places most seasons. I really believe that unless we sign a creative midfielder and if Stones and or Mirralas leave we will be challenging for bottom 3 position. Although we finished last season with a few wins, most were by the odd goal against lower teams who actually deserved something out of those games. We were close to losing a few of them. The league form did reflect Osman's presence in the team. ie when he was out injured we never won a game. So unless a replacement is found there, we are relying on an ageing player who is injury prone and not getting any quicker. Pienaar seems to invite tackles and get injured all the time now anyway. The bottom line is I believe that unless we make some major signings we will be bottom half of the table.if Stones and Mirralas go we will do well to reach half way. ok go on slag me off for my opinion.

Same old from Degsy I hear. But last season did turn out to be the positive revelation that everyone forecast didn't it? An improvement on the season before? And the quality additions of Kone, Barry and McGeady did inspire us upwards? Sorry guys. that's just not how I see it? Nor do I see Del Boy as contributing except as a sub or in maybe every 5th game. He is just not consistent. Lennon is also poor in my view.should we decide to sign. Yes he had the odd decent game last season, but he is one of those (in my opinion) who starts well when he gets in the team and then starts to lose confidence. I will post again 10 games in and remind everyone.

I have not took to much notice of the hamstring conspiracy that's been going on since rm took over but. Arr what ever am fed up of this fraud sack him just hope that's why we're not signing anybody because the board think/know rm is incompetent would love him to prove me wrong but I don't think he will and to be honest a can't be arsed giving him a chance although I have know choice. I have never been able to take to him to be honest to me it seems like everything he says is all from a script he doesn't come across as someone who loves everton like us he comes across as someone trying to love us just feeding us bull anyway like I say hope he proves me wrong but I'm not holding my breath. Oh wait a min I am holding my breath because rm is on ssn talking that much bull are living room stinks. Anyway off to bed depressed again tonight

I'M SORRY BUT I THINK OUR CLUB IS A JOKE!!NO MENTION OF POTENTIAL SIGNINGS TO GIVE THE FANS A BOOST.PRETTY OBVIOUS THAT STONES IS ON HIS WAY AS BOBBY AFTER CENTRE HALF FROM CELTIC.I JUST HOPE I AM WRONG. EVEN STOKE CITY HAVE MORE MONEY THAN US AND ARE HAVING A GO IN THE TRANSFER MARKET.THERE LATEST ADDITION COULD BE AFELLAY!! SOMETHING WRONG AT OUR CLUB IF WE don't GET SOME PLAYERS SOON?? WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK??

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think we should wait until the start of the season before we pass judgement lemur, even though at the moment it does seem a bit bleak..i also think you should stop shouting mate as block capitals are frowned upon mate..

27 Jul 2015 16:40:18
as ed says chill let's see what happens first

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2015 11:32:23
To be fair to the club, lately when they have said "no sale" they have meant it. Which tells me that first and foremost we put our top players on long contracts then keep them.

This summer there has been very real interest in Stones with Chelsea, McCarthy with Aresenal and now Lukaku with Man U. Granted not all resulting in bids.

This tells me that we have an excellent spine of young and talented outfield players. Add to that possibly the best full back pairing in the league, some very skilful and quick wingers.

2 maybe 3 signings (one soon and maybe 2 on deadline day) will strengthen us to a level that has got me really excited about the season ahead.

I don't care who Stoke Watford or West Ham sign! They haven't got the players we have or else Chelsea Arsenal and Man U would be bidding for them. And also remember if you sign too many first team players you suffer from a lack of continuity that can last a full season.

Now there are real concerns about the manager. Well I have them too. But only time will tell on that one. If we are far from where we need to be at any point this season then there will be no where for him to hide.

Top players with no Europe = top 6.

So I'm very relaxed going into August, as its in our hands.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - good post that ace...you have almost got me believing it mate.. :)

27 Jul 2015 15:45:54
A good calm response ace. We are all looking and sounding negative and even though I try to look on the bright side if life I admit it is a bit concerning. However, if no one leaves then we have a really good squad going into the season.

I feel we are a striker short. A CB would be nice but maybe some of the younger lads can come in now and again.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2015 16:28:25
I agree Blue, we could do with a proven PL goal scorer like Austin or Remy. Although if we enquire about Remy then you know what Chelsea will say!

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2015 16:46:59
agree toffee we have brought in two players plus I think if we can keep oviedo, gibson, fit almost be like two more on top of last season browning galloway mcaleny all ready to step up imo so we def a lot stronger from last season

Agree2 Disagree2

27 Jul 2015 11:27:52
Anybody else reckon Martinez picked his tactics up from watching Wigan rugby league side. They like sideways and backwards passes. Concerned with the lack of strengthening but will be patient as always and surprisingly I am looking forward to the 8th get to watch a load of new signings. oh wait that's Watford not Everton ah well back to the prozac for 9 months.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i dont think its that bad gray...but i do share some of your concerns mate..

27 Jul 2015 15:40:36
I do think that we are maybe looking to move players out to make room in the squad before we can bring anybody in. Quality is better than quantity. Well I am hoping this is the case and not the fact that we have a board happy with just making up the numbers in the prem in order to keep the money rolling in to add zeros to there bank accounts. Always was optimistic being a blue season on season ed but sooner or later you question whether its optimism or just naivety.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2015 08:50:16
The only creative midfielder we have is Osman and he is getting old. Barkley, Mcgeady and Mirallas are either useless, poor distributors or selfish. I thought we would at least get a creative midfielder. Forget about the back line. It concerns me we will only have 1 more come in cause we won't cope with what we have.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

27 Jul 2015 11:34:19
Peanuts is also creative but again getting on like Ossie

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2015 08:10:41
Ok so RM says he hopes to make one more signing this window.
We all know we are a CB short so rumours link van Dijk of Celtic.
We finished mid table last year with the current side, and have added only two signings, yet we have let two CB's leave.

So the question is Everton FC

1. Where is the money?
2. Where is the ambition?
3. where is a development strategy?
4. Where is a new stadium?

Agree with you 57 same crap every year martinez and moysie both budget managers and don't complain because they both never have the dough to get who they really want so bargain basement and loans shame really but look what moysie spent at United and got the boot still be there on the 8th 59 years old on the day cob luv ya

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2015 11:21:17
Martizez has said he is wanting at least 2 more players before the close of transfer window and indicated a CB and a #10. He said he needed a CB to replace Alcaraz and Distin. no word about Stones. He also said he has been very impressed with some of the younger guys I guess Browning and the lad we got from Wimbledon and he believes they will be pushing for selection.
The crap newspapers are doing a great job of unsettling the players, club and fans its almost like a frenzied attack on our great club, which obviously is very concerning. However I have faith we will keep most of our top players and we will come up with a Van Dijk a good midfielder perhaps roberto and a couple of good loans. we still have 5 weeks of the window left. At least this season the boys look fitter and sharper and I thnk Cleverly will have some fans eating their words.
Wellzee

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i love your positivity mate..

27 Jul 2015 16:44:09
We didn't really lose two CB did we? Think about it. Distan to slow now, and the other fella should never have been there in th first place. So are not really any worse off. In fact we are probably better off given those two are at least off the books. Bloody hell starting to think like Bill now.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2015 03:40:33
to think that a year ago we were pushing for fourth to were we are now is absolutely laughable, were sniffing round free transfers and players other clubs want rid, people say we were stagnant under moyes but in his last season we were dominating gmes like I have never seen before as a blue and with shrewd signings Martinez carried it on into his first season which i'm now thinking had more to do with players holding the existing folicy rather than the new one which came to fruition last year.

spain ditched the tika taki yet RM seems to have one train of thought and asking are cbs to play like Xavi and iniestas doing triangles off the keeper is ludicrous. the signings have highlighted is lack of knowledge on the transfer market I fear this year will mirror last but the board will be happy with 10th, looks like its wooden seats til I die if the money continues because mid table is win win for the board

Just looked around other teams pages and confirmed that we are the most depressing fans in the country, moan moan moan from virtually everyone on this site, speculation yet again regarding who we are looking at buying which results in yet more slating of the club, no one on here actually knows for certain any player we are looking at, I know its nearly the start of the season but its not as if every other club has gone out and spent millions is it, come on Blues, pick yourselves up will ye

Degs

Agree5 Disagree1

27 Jul 2015 08:24:42
Degs, almost every other club has spent millions! West Ham and Newcastle have both spent over £20 million! Even Watford have spent. As it stands we have spent the third least in the premiership with £4.3M. Bournemouth who we should be able to dwarf financially have spent twice the amount as us with £8M. Although I'm not saying we won't spend eventually you can see why people are worried as at the moment it does not look like we are going for that big signing that can take us to the next level. Also Martinez stated he knew his targets in January. If so get them in asap so we can actually prepare for the season. If we lose stones and have to play our horrific opening run with an untested centre back paring we could just be setting ourselves up for failure. Obviously as fans though we are all fickle and as soon as we spend £10M on someone I have never heard of I will be over the moon again but for now I am a little concerned!

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Jul 2015 09:41:04
In Martinez first season he was given far to much credit as the second season proved. In the first he definitely profited from the same never say die spirit left by Moyes, in the second he soon knocked that out of them. That pre-season hammering by Arsenal was no blip but rather a sign of things to come. RM just does not seem to accept his methods could be wrong both in game time and training (witness the hamstring toll). I am still waiting to be proved wrong but so far RM is demonstrating he is out of his depth.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i happen to agree with you dunc, it was ok at wigan to underachieve as expectation has always been low but at everton we dont suffer fools gladly, i would love it if he was a success as he is such a charming and press friendly guy, but the well being and status of our great club is paramount and if things start badly this season i would hope he would be replaced in the near future. now i must agree that our board seem to be very backward in coming forward with funds and they must also be held accountable, i am saying this out of concern for our club and just not having a go at them for moanings sake mate..

27 Jul 2015 11:25:50
Ed 25 you are such a pessimist and obviously dislike Martinez intensely by all the comments you made over the last 6-9 months. We have 5 weeks to go until transfer window closed I am optimistic we will get at least 2 good signings and a couple of exciting loans. I too am concerned for our great club and we were unprepared and awful last season however I believe we will surprise many people with our form this season
