Team i would LOVE to see next season:

GK. Howard
RB. Naughton(loan)
CB. Jagielka
CB. Heitinga
LB. Baines
RM. Oxlade Chamberlain(loan)
CM. Fellaini
CM. Barkley
LM. Pienaar(4m)
CAM/CF. Naismith(free)
ST. Jelavic

Bench

New GK
Hibbert/Neville
Distin/Duffy
Rodwell/Osman
Gibson/Junior
Gueye/Cahill
Rodallega/Vellios

5th place a realistic aim with that team, but 4th not impossible.

Total cost of Naismith, Naughton, Pienaar, Oxlade Chamberlain, Rodallega, New GK would probably be around 7-8m(excluding wages), i no this wont happen but i'd be a very confident blue going into Goodison if this was the team, but obviously il sing & support them no matter who comes COYB! IMWT! FTRS! cant wait for the season, i will finally be of a legal age to have a match day pint Whayy!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

There are some good players on a free from Rangers lets get some of them

Agree0 Disagree0

Naismith and Aluko-the rest are garbage

Agree0 Disagree0

We would NEVER get the ox on loan,Arse wipe need him

Agree0 Disagree0

The Ox needs to play games and with podolski and giroud signing for Arsenal plus they already have Walcott & Gervinho i just cant see him getting regular 1st team action

I like the look of our squad even though people tend to say it's small we have good cover and good players throughout.
If we can keep all our players this season and somehow sign Naismith, Pienaar which is realistic and Donovan which would be a bit more tough! and maybe a loan striker (or free) then the squad would look and be more than capable of reaching europe again.
We have not played in europe for 3 years and a club of our size needs europeon football.

I know everyone knows our squad but just thought i would write down players so you get an idea of how good and versatile our squad. Makes you realise what a chance we have this season (with hopefully the couple of signings iv'e mentioned).

GK...Howard- Mucha? (or new gk if he is sold)

RB...Hibbert- Neville- (Coleman)

CB...Heitinga- Distin- Jagielka- Duffy

LB...Baines-(Distin) Garbutt, Bidwell

RM...Donovan-(Coleman, Osman, Naismith)

CM...Fellaini-Gibson-Rodwell-Barkley-(Osman, Cahill, Neville)

LM...Pienaar-Gueye-Osman

AM- Cahill-Naismith-(Osman, Baxter, Felliani)

ST-Jelavic- (Naismith)-(NEW STRIKER LOAN/FREE?)- (Cahill)-Anichebe-Vellios

What do people think, am I just being a over excited blue or does this squad have a good feel and look to it? Experienced players, young players, players at there peak, FINALLY some pace, creativity, hard work, strength and players that can play in numerous positions!!?

Come on Moyes and Kenwright get a couple of players in early or just before the first game starts against Man United and we could have ourselves a great squad capable of anything this season we have waited long enough for silverware! Too long for a great club like Everton!

Good post mate, just highlights what Osman has brought to our team over the seasons, so versatile, another fine example of what our great team has brought through the ranks.

Degsybluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Degz, he's so underrated, just like Hibbo.

ToffeeTony

Nine in a team would leave us a bit thin

Agree0 Disagree0

Last poster "nine in a team", have your read the original post properly mate, he wasn't saying nine in a team but covering positions

Degsybluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

Nine in a team? You obviously didn't read the lads post properly! READ IT AGAIN.
Good post, agree with Degsy, underlines Osman's versatility and makes you think IF we can make a couple of signings the squad is good enough to achieve europe and some long awaited silverware!

Not that we're linked in any way at all but would anyone take Jozy Altidore and how much do you think he's worth?

Bobcat

Believable0 Unbelievable3

I don't know, i'm not a big fan but he s still young and had to offer. For the price, something around 5-6M I suppose.

Kevin Davies would be a decent addition to squad on a free. Lots of experience and got a few goals in him. He may be getting on but can bea handful at times. Be good from the bench.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Honestly, come on mate.

Rodallega is on a free

watching the match and moutinho is a class player. his defensive play is brilliant.

Andy

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Moyes loves that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy I agree. The boy is pure class. How much do I wish we had him 4 years ago when we were bidding for him.

We can dream, COYB

Ok, I know I'm a bit daft but I've only just worked out how to get on other clubs sites, so I was a bit curious.

Had a look at the Kopites page and the first thing I saw was this.

G'Day All,

Just a friendly reminder if It is true Sigurdsson has had his head turned by money he is not Liverpool material.

I sooo wanted to reply but thought, I'm not a trolling Gobsh**e

Just a wild thought.....
If we all buy a Baines no3 away top at £64 - say 100,000 fans, including family, those that don't go to games for what ever reason, foriegn fans, and a few for the kids etc and then Baines leaves, it would cost 6.4 million in refunds, not including postage, which would discourage the club/board too sell or could up the asking price.

Thoughts?

Or am I just losing it, now the Wife is not here to tell me what to think?

Gods Doctor

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Stop this nonsense 100k Baines shirts really? Next thing you'll be telling me is that Moyes had an option to buy Joao Moutinho for 7 million euros in January but declined. Oh wait a minute...

Agree0 Disagree0

And here we go with the r/s comments. Do I need a place to start to begin picking on how "big" players won't come to you, how everyone you want to sign is a "Liverpool supporter" or how your deluded little minds still think that you're a big team when upon further inspection you're just reminiscing on videos from the 80's when you were a half decent team. Liverpool FC - The laughing stock of British football.

Is it just me who now thinks that the 24-25 milion we got looks like really shrewd buisness!. after watching him in the euros, he looked a shadow of himself. At everton he was fast/ strong, lean! and played with freedom and imagination!...That was exciting to watch..Now lacks all of the above, and must be at least " stone overweight. In the modern game players must be athletic to sustain a long career in the top flight, It appears to me his exhuberant life style could shorten his career! george best and paul gascoigne spring to mind, Shame!...

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Who are you on about jolean lescott

Agree0 Disagree0

Who?

Gods Doctor

Agree0 Disagree0

Got ya, Rooney, my Bad!

Gods Doctor

Agree0 Disagree0

Lost his edge needs to play with love n joy can only gt that at everton .he dusnt love the mancs never will .he needs that edge that all the money in the world can't buy .somethink u can only gt thru love he's tried to fight it but he loves the toffees

Agree0 Disagree0

I take it we are talking about Rooney and not Lescott. Anyway, good business on both counts!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry ,I was thinking a head of my self and left his name out! Wayne Rooney!

Agree0 Disagree0

If he loved everton that much, he would, ent have left in the first place.
"ONCE ABLUE AWAYS ABLUE"Yeh!!!..

Agree0 Disagree0

The difference with Rooney is that at manu he is played as a midfielder come striker and Ferguson has made him into an all round player. He basically coached out of him his ability to take on player's which we seen at Everton and in his early days under Eriksson at England. Remember his goals at Leeds and arsenal away. Unless he gets fitter he will never regain that ability and ferguson Will use him deeper. Waste of talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is still easily England's best striker and is a intelligent player but i kind of agree with you.
He has lost that freedom he had when he was at Everton and for the first couple of years at Man United, i mean me and a friend were talking a couple of days ago and were asking ourselves- "when was the last time you saw Rooney power past a player?" "Look determined during a game?" "Chase down a defender" i know these things aren't massivily important for a striker especially when he is still scoring 20+ goals a season but he does seem to have lost a edge to his game and does look overweight

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't blame Rooney for wanting to leave we were a shambles at the time and going nowhere, so loving Everton has nothing to do with it as it was a career move, and he hasn't exactly done bad since. Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

He just isnt a international player 3 tournements prove this theres been a lot of players like that john barnes mc manaman ashley cole milner very few take there club form to an higher level playing against better standed of player even messi hasnt hes used to playing with teammates who no is runs

i was just thinking if we sold either fellaini or baines who would it be? i hope we dont sell either of them but if we did i think id keep baines. one of the best defenders in the league.

Andy

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I would sell Baines would be easier and cheaper to replace than Felli, i can't think of anyone that even comes close to the type of player that felli is and i think you would need two players to replace him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see Baines being wiv us for life! Plus his connection wiv Pienaar (assuming we sign him!) and the creating of most of our goals, where as Felliani, even tho I luv him and think he's our best player, I dont see him being 100% loyal to our club especially wiv his dad so if 1 had to go, i'd rather Fella but here's hoping neither leave

King Chong

Agree0 Disagree0

My mates had a drink with moyes .he said if were gona lose anyone it will be fellani to a champions league side not a certain thou n the baines link with man u is a load of rubbish .main priority is pienaar n a cuple more 2boost squad .this was in krakow no lies n he's deffo stayin at everton

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if Moyes had a drink with them why in the world would he tell them about transfer news?! You'll have to come up with a better story next time.
Joe EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Everything about moyes havin a drink in krakow true joe the blue Felliani is the one he's worried about leavin not Baines it's not like it's let his transfer targets plans out .its just common sense he's after pienaar cud lose felli

Arsenal ate trying to offload players to cut the wage bill one of them being Carlos vela think he could be a good player with the right management what do you think ed . {Ed025's Note - not his biggest fan to be honest, but i said that about gibbo...just shows you what i know..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Wasn't a big fan of him at Arsenal, But He has been awesome in Spain this year
Toffeepidge {Ed025's Note - real sociedad..

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of all the Arsenal "rejects" i'd realistically only take two. Chamakh and Arshavin. Chamakh for his height and aerial ability and Arshavin for his "pace" and the nostalgia of him putting 4 past the r/s. Good times.

MikeyBlueNose.

Agree0 Disagree0

If they really are keeping Van Persie and playing a 3 up top with Podolski and Giroud then that leaves Walcott out in the cold, i would take him in a heart beat, he would be great on our right wing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Walcott?
Apart from the fact he supports Liverpool, he would cost over £15m and he would want to be by far our highest earner, I think we would squeeze a deal out... Only if we get past them small stumbling blocks though

Agree0 Disagree0

Walcott under moyes wing, I wish

Degsybluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

Walcott would become one of the worlds greatest players under Moyes

everton should get naismith to put pen to paper now and worry about the legal niceties latter before another club comes in. charles green is a buffon, could not find his own ass with both hands, man will destroy what is left of a great club.
