Totally agree, looked quality against Porto tonight, looked far more lively than any current Everton forward.

Champions League football. That's what Leicester offered the same as Arsenal offered Lucas so we had little to no chance of signing him.

I think we still regret not getting Messi, Ranoldo and Paul Dikov. It seems to be a common theme with Everton!

On a serious note I don't think we were even in for him except on Twitter and News Now. We were linked with a million different players. We got what we got, no need to dwell.

Questions should be asked and answered as to our recruitment policy, I can't believe with the funds we have it was all last minute .com as always!

{Ed025's Note - if only it were that simple wakka, we did try earlier but clubs are reluctant to part with their best players until they have a replacement in place, i have questioned this in the past myself and it can be achieved on occasion but its not as easy as you may think mate..

29 Sep 2016 12:42:05
It's frustrating Wakka I know. I'm no different but I never really worry about players we don't get. We'll do alright and each window we'll get better.

I think by summer next year we will have players in place to come in and a better understanding of each other. They had 5 minutes this window to get things organised.

Surely we have players on our radar either those we didn't get or those new that have become targets. Now I would imagine talks may be ongoing with clubs and agents already.
Us getting into Europe is paramount this season if we have any chance of getting a few marquee names in!

{Ed025's Note - maybe pre-contract agreements is the way to go wakka?, it will cost mure but a guarantees the purchase..

Imo the player we should have signed was Wesley Sneider for the following reasons:
He still has two or three years of top football in him
He would have made an immediate impact in terms of midfield creativity
Ross would have benefited from his experience and skill
Medium term he would have helped the progress of our younger talent breaking through
We could have signed him for c£5m
I feel we missed a real opportunity to add real creative class to our squad, oh let's not forget he knows where the goal is.

{Ed025's Note - no arguments from me there fancy..

Just one point to consider about all the players we should and should not have signed. We have a pretty full squad so have limited squad space. RK and SW will know the type of player they want to bring in. Each player they bring in will take a squad place, so they may be reluctant to bring in a player just to help youth development. One of our problems is the fringe players at the club are not really wanted by other clubs McGeady being a prime example although he doesn't take a squad place he is still on the books can we afford to move players out on loan because we can't sell them. We do have to stay with FFP rules so unless we can get rid of players reducing the wage bill. I would have liked to see Sneider just can't see that sort of thing happening while we have players on the books we don't really want.

Maybe one for January as he is still at Galatasary and when you Google his name it says his salary is €4.5m which is not a lot in modern football terms. Maybe his age could be a factor but saying that it hasn't affected Barry. We are crying out for a player who will drive at defenders from the centre of the park and who isn't shy to take a shot if it's on. Let's see how the players react to 2 straight defeats and then after the international break we have a real test away to City.

hope you right mates, but getting a late deadline day loan signing from West Ham says it all for me and I cart see it getting better in January? and still no news on the ground?

Guys,

When a player signs for our club where does he stay at night?

Do we have a house where our new-comers stay until they are settled or do they stay in a hotel or maybe they stay with a team mate.

I bet 90% of you are contemplating putting down tent or training ground changing rooms or something similar like the YMCA. ( On hindsight being scousers maybe 95% of you )

I am genuinely curious about this for no other reason that I have nothing else to post.

Hi Grumpy I know we use to have a deal with one of the hotels in Liverpool for when we had players we were looking at signing that where here for medicals and contract signings but I don't know what happens after that it's a good question hopefully someone can help.

In the search of some light hearted banter, does anyone have any new Dark Side Klipperty Klopp jokes?
Although these have been around for a while here are a few of my favourites:-

Oxo are releasing a new red and white cube to commemorate Liverpool's season.
It's called the laughing stock.

How many Liverpool fans does it take to change a lightbulb?
None, they all just sit in the dark and talk about how great the old one was.

Did you know Liverpool will be playing water football next season. They are 20 000 leagues under the sea so they're bound to win at least one of them.

Q: Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, an intelligent Liverpool supporter, and an old drunk are walking down the street together when simultaneously they each spot a fifty quid note. Who gets it?
A: The old drunk, of course; the other three are mythical creatures.

St. Peter was manning the Pearly Gates when 40 Liverpool fans showed up. Never having seen anyone from Liverpool at heaven's door, St. Peter said he would have to check with God. After hearing the news, God instructed him to admit the 10 most virtuous from the group.
A few minutes later, Saint Peter returned to God breathless and said, "They're gone. "
"What? All of the Liverpool fans are gone? " asked God.
"No" replied Saint Peter "The Pearly Gates! ".

Liverpool is a large football club with huge overheads consequently a promising young reporter asked Jurgen Klopp “How many people actually work at Liverpool Football Club? ”.
“About half” came his reply.
