I just wanted ti say how proud and made up you should all be for what big balls bill and roberto have done this week.

I am absolutely buzzing you have sent those historyless charlatans packing with there tail between there legs.

The sooner Merseyside rules the league again the better.

We're the best fans and the most successful football city in the country and we both need to get back on our perch.

Here's to a great season lads and ladies

Question for John Stones.
Where were Chelsea when Everton apparently beat amongst others, Everton to sign you?
You were overjoyed to sign on the dotted line of your contract John to come and play football at one of the biggest Clubs in England. You have also very recently been rewarded by the Club with a new 5 year contract, which, once again you very willingly signed.
Do some research on Everton Football Club John and you will very quickly realise that Everton FB is a much bigger Club than Chelsea FC. Chelsea were an average Club before Abramovitch came on board, & their history is dwarfed by that of Everton.
You clearly want to play in the Champions League.so do 40,000 Everton Fans!
You clearly want to win trophys. so do 40,000 Everton Fans.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side John, so stay here at Everton help Martinez build a side strong enough to challenge for those Trophys along with Ross Barkley, James McCarthy, Seamus Coleman, Romelu Lukaku, Tom Cleverly & all the other lads who want to wear the famous Blue Shirt. The Everton fans have taken you to their hearts and fully realise that you undoubtedly have the potential to become one of the best ever defenders this country has produced. A "Rolls Royce" defender is how I have read you have been described. Please put all this upset behind you & do what you do best. Help put our great Club back up there where it truly belongs. winning titles etc. It's not always all about money!!

I totally disagree with the thought that a 21 year old who threw all his life being alive Everton have won 1 cup and made 1 final, most current players on the market won't even be aware we have won anything, were not playing in the 80s were here now and were miles away from getting any were near were we used be, we don't win anything these days whys a kid from Barnsley going to care we won a cup in the 30s

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - bloody hell mike...what flew up your nose?..

28 Aug 2015 23:33:31
Yea I agree a lot of people said there was a lot of problems in the camp with certain players and that Martinez could not control it, we'll obviously it was wrong as he has manage to keep players and tie them down to long contracts so players must believe it what he and Everton fc are doing not being funny but Mirralas, McCarthy and others could leave to go and play champions league football if they wanted, the thing is we all want the same thing for Everton, we keep saying the board have to go, but we all know that's only going to happen if serious takeover happens that give us financial backing to match the so called big clubs but that's not just chucking money around like they do, I mean our brand needs to be marketed better and that comes with success, but we need to keep our DNA you see with Everton now although I never liked them they did things right on and off the pitch yes the payed big money for players but always blended it with youth products they sold there soul and now look at them chucking money at anything and any big name that comes up, I remember Ferguson calling some team noisy neighbours for throwing money around trying to buy title, I don't want that, I like the fact we don't do things to gain attention with media and that we deal with issues in house, like now with the Gibson incident considering it was in papers the club seem to be keeping a lid on that, now if that was any top 4 side media be having a field day, mind you stones probably done him a favour there by his media circus. I want investment as much as anyone but only if it takes us to another level, mind you if there is any rich sheik out there who seen how we handled the stones deal we have just sent out a massive statement about football and the integrity of the game first club to stand up and not get bullied into selling one of our best players this is a significant step I believe with all the money coming in the next 2 years make every club stronger for sure but it makes clubs now like us and west brom able to turn down big money bids would never of happend few years ago if west brom were offered 20m they would bite your hand off no need to sell just to balance the books they can sell on there terms now, people say money ruins football it doesn't it's getting stronger clubs are growing more money is coming into the game more billionaires want in as it's the place to be they will buy clubs to compete and I predict in 5-10 years time you will have 5 or 6 teams that will be contesting for title a financial expert recently has claimed that over the next decade maybe less 3 or 4 multi billionaires will buy premiership clubs he went on to say that over last 6 months he has heard in the financial world of the wealthiest that they are itching to buy clubs and have been for long time but explaines it's all about business timing and now that deal involving premier league with overseas payment on its way football is going to explode, I wish I could remember what magazine it was in as read while waiting at dentist , it was great read from someone who is not interested in football but financial insight, there is hope after reading it

Evening Ed025 and Toffee's.

Ed, seeing as though you boys have been linked with Johnny Evans all season, I'm very surprised you haven't approached Celtic about Virgil Van Dijk.

Van Dijk and Stones?
Winning combo mate.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i like him dags and would love him to come, the fly in the ointment might be that he will have to displace either stones or jags, which may not happen anytime soon..

28 Aug 2015 22:06:32
Ideal replacement if you lose Stones, and at a fraction of the price.

Plus, Jag's ain't getting any younger mate. 33 I think.

Have to be honest, would love him at Arsenal Ed.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - stones is staying dags, and im so proud to be an evertonian at the moment, our club has made a statement of intent here by refusing to back down to the russian oligarch and his portugese puppet who tried to rob one of our crown jewels, if only all clubs acted like ours football would be a far better game, the bullies at stamford bridge are sporting a big black eye at the moment because david has slain goliath here, and our chairman and manager deserve high praise for bucking this trend of the richer clubs (not bigger) treading on those less fortunate..

28 Aug 2015 23:05:26
Absolutely Ed,

In the past you have lost big players, Rooney to Utd, Lescott to City and Arteta to Arsenal (sorry).

Is it just me as it seems the 3 transfers Martinez as been talking about for weeks seems to be happening saying 2 will be attacking players well with Rodriguez done deal and defender mori almost done just leaves the no 10 position left, now the only one which seems to have any substance to it was Yarmolenko now it started off as strong links but seems like that has died down and apart from the Bernard story being run by a couple of papers that seems not true as there owner has said we have had no inquiries regarding Bernard apart from those two there has been no other targets so I think either Martinez has been doing a deal somewhere els and both clubs kept very quiet about it or the yarmolenko deal is been pretty much done and it will be deadline day deal. Martinez knows who it is the way he is talking as states 2 players coming in our attacking players

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Aug 2015 20:04:19

{Ed025's Note - he would do for me JJC, but there are no links to us mate..

28 Aug 2015 19:13:59
I understand keeping our best players but we are sinking. I don't want to sell or see them go. We need the money we all know this. I'm only saying we are a selling club for now because of this but keep doing it get out of the Red & in the Blacknthen keep our players & build. Rite now we are on thin ice & with the men at the helm I see us doing a Wigan. Last season was terrible. RM isn't changing tactics and we are seeping goals. We are patching over holes. Wright it off & start again. If we could get 60 plus M. Pay off & buy young standout talent where we could give the starts (do what Germany did in essence) in 5 years we're going to have a total different side anyhow. So I say sell invest. eat, sleep, footy, repeat till we are the big club fighting for everything.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed025's Note - now thats what i call pissing on our parade BaB..

28 Aug 2015 20:06:13
I don't think we need the cash as much as you believe, especially when the tv deal kicks in. This is one of the reasons clubs like ours can knock back bids for our young talent, other teams will be able to do the same. The days of stock piling young talent, like Chelsea etc do, are coming to an end I reckon. We have shown this week, and I hope this doesn't change before the deadline, that we can't be bullied into selling our better players.
During the last ten years or so we have steadied the ship financially so I don't know why you think we are a selling club. The only players that have left, JS is the exception, are those that request to leave. Think Fellaini, Arteta and Rooney. We were not selling them because we had to raise cash fast, well maybe Rooney was for that reason, but because they expressed their desire to move on. Yes, Stones has asked to leave but I'll put that down to being badly advised. He will be back to his usual self in no time, no thanks to JM and the russian cockney mafia.
I am not RM's biggest fan but I think he has changed his approach slightly since the Watford game. If we play with one less DM then we counter attack at speed and look better for it. I'd say there is more to be optimistic about than there is to be down in the dumps mate. When Rom, Ross and Gerri combine they look unstoppable, throw Kev into the mix and there is a bit of creativity there. Sort out the defence and we will be fine this season. Especially with no euro league to put up with.

A big statement made by a big club this week. everton are not pushovers and operate intelligently. If we sell our best assets we not only lose players but the bond those players have forged.
when Southampton started to sell, it took away any hope of doing something great together. ever since, every player of theirs touted in the press for a move has wanted to jump ship. If we had sold stones and Coleman imagine the effect on the likes of lukaku and others. everton grew in stature in the last few days. Big club is about more than money and silverware. it's about integrity and identity with the hopes of the fans.
We'll done Bill!

Everton Football Club has completed the signing of young Uruguayan prospect Leandro Rodriguez on a four-year deal to June 2019.

The 22-year-old striker has arrived at Goodison from River Plate Montevideo for an undisclosed fee.

Rodriguez netted 19 goals in 71 games for his hometown club and is regarded by Everton manager Roberto Martinez as a player with the talent to develop into a real threat in the Premier League.

"He's a young talent - one of those elite, talented youngsters who we like to bring in, " said the Toffees boss. "Mason Holgate is a clear example of a really strong, young English defender and Leandro Rodriguez is a young striker with a real knack of scoring goals.

"But he's much more than that, too. His contribution is a lot more than that and hopefully we can provide a path where he can develop and enjoy his football. If he can do that, clearly that's going to bring goals to the first team.

"He probably won't [need time with the Under-21s] because he has played enough games with his first team in Uruguay in a really competitive league.

"If you look at the amount of strikers that come through those environments, you don't get surprised about the quality of these players.

"I am not saying that to put pressure on the boy, but he is a player we can be very much excited about in the future."

Hi Ed, Been away for a bit as not too well but that's all now in the past. Everton all serene and quiet and then slap its all let loose because of the nonsense of money doing all of the talking. The Stones saga and now the latest about Coleman, it just shouts at me at how toxic the open transfer window into a playing season is. Reprehensible as it is, the fact that players are suffering alleged abuse when their heads should be fully engaged in playing to win, is nuts beyond reason. God knows what the impact is on the other players let alone Stones himself. I am bracing myself for the final few days of the transfer window fiasco when finally this nonsense will stop. Then someone needs to put the foot down and tell the football authorities that this exercise was not a success and change it back to what it was. In the meantime a game in London that we need to concentrate on. Football I love, the crap I do not.

If he accepted it, it would send a statement out to the media and other clubs, and also buy Stones some goodwill amongst the fans who aren't too pleased with him. Also, I personally think that now he is a first choice centre back and our No.5, he should be on more money than 30k per week (in terms of modern wages).

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2015 11:14:23
Not sure if I can believe the story in today's rags about John Stone being visited by fans at home. If it is true then what has happened to our club?

That said, I took my son to Southampton and he was given a lot of abuse by some so called fans. They told him f off, that he was a person, and other things that I will not put down here. He is 6 years old.

It was his first ever Everton game, and to say he was excited is an understatement.

In the weeks leading up to the game I told him as much history of the club as I could. Told him about the reason why there is are two Everton FC's, how the Everton Free School helps people, and basically got him to be proud to be an Everton fan.

He wore his new Everton goalie top to the match. Then he basically got abused by some Everton fans. Again, he is SIX. He was scared stiff, obviously so, which just made the "fans" do it even more. Strangely enough, when two police officers arrived the abuse stopped. Very brave people whoever you were.

He has not even asked to wear his top again since that day.

And the reason he got picked on? Because he does not have a scouse accent. We were even told we were "too posh for our club". I left out some words in that quote.

So am I surprised if the John Stones abuse story is true? No, unfortunately I am not. I find it very sad that people think it is remotely OK to act in such a way even exist, but they do.

I must be honest, if the story is true then if I were John Stones I would be doing my best to force the transfer through. And our "fans" will only have themselves to blame.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - sad to hear that sussex, we should see ourselves as a global brand and not be so insular, i hope you told your lad that 99% of our fans are decent people, and to take no notice of these so called fans who,s agenda is at best questionable, i hope he has not been put off mate as we need to carry on the excellent support this club has, get him to do a post on here under your IP and i will try to reassure the young guy that even though im a scouser not all of us are so bigoted and shallow and its a very small percentage that is..

28 Aug 2015 11:01:29
This Funes Mori is left footed right? Anyone know if he can play left back? If Galloway isn't match fit I'd really rather have an actual defender in the match squad ahead of Oviedo, I love the guy like but he was being targeted and exploited by Barnsley, and he's much better going forward as a super sub anyway

My big concern is that they aren't going to be first choice type players to put pressure on the starting 11, Funes Mori is cover for Jags and stones, and Rodriguez is cover for Lukaku. Any other signings that we're supposed to be getting in before the deadline surely need to be players that will offer something NEW to the first team? The type of player (or players) that will keep the likes of Ross, Kev and Gerry on their toes. I really hope we can make a major signing in the attacking midfielder (or No 10) position, Yarmolenko would have been perfect for me, but that deal looks dead unfortunately. definitely need a star signing or 2 in the final 3rd of the pitch though, or it could be a long hard season for Ross and co. Any thought Ed?

{Ed025's Note - im with you ITB, we need at lest one stellar signing to gee up the lads, still a few days yet and the merry go round has not even started yet so im still hopeful mate..

Yarmolenko has increased pressure on Kiev to sell him now by stating that he will see out the remainder of his contract and go for nothing

This sounds better than

Yarmolenko is going to see out the rest of his contract at Kiev

Ed hold onto the singing voice kidder, he's coming, never give up until the window shuts or he signs for someone else

This one won't go away until he signs for someone else. So I'm still optimistic.

For those of you not on Twitter or Youtube. Martinez said Rodriguez will be announced later today and will NOT be one of the 3 signings, he is for the youth setup at the moment. Said he hopes Mori will be completed today but international clearance could take a few days. Stil says he wants 3 players, Mori and 2 attacking options (obviously a Number 10 and hopefully a Striker). Of course most of the talk was about Stones and the media would not shut up about it. Martinez refused to comment on the way Chelsea have acted throughout the whole thing. Said Galloway is a doubt for tomorrow. Said Stones is in the right frame of mind and said players should not be in these situations when the season starts. Think Martinez has been utterly phenominal in throughout the whole Stones situation. He's a phenomenal talent playing alongside a phenomenal group of youngsters like Ross Barkley, Gerard Deulofeu and Romelu Lukaku. Says Mori speaks perfect English, will be a phenomenal signing, thinks Kenwrights statement was phenomenal. Think that about sums it up really, phenominal press conference, let's look forward to some phenomenal signings and a phenomenal performance against Tottenham.

it seems to me that the club have stood firm on the Stones transfer and that is a true statement of intent, I hope the lad has a really good season for us and as he represents the club the fans will treat him respectfully! What we really need now is for the club to make three good signings to cement the resolve they are displaying to the fans and help them get over the Stones saga and really lift our season!

Quote from Chelski's pages

I really like Everton BTW. I hate Liverpool, so its only natural I'd like to see Everton do well, but their fans have shown themselves to be ignorant to the ways of the world. They now have a player who actively asked to leave, and yet they are holding him against his will even though they would be compensated above and beyond what Stones is worth. that's something you'd never see us do. So who is the classless team?

Ignorant and classless

erm pot and kettle come to mind here

Did anyone listen to the sports bar last night? Peter Macpartland was on it, he's an Evertonian, Jason Cundy, is a Chelsea fan. Not only did Peter completely destroy anything they said, all his arguments flew over Cundy's head. Jason Cundy, a man who thinks Stones should do a William Gallas and threaten to score own goals to leave, well of course.

I was listening to it in bed Swan, normally don't mind listening to Cundy even though he is a bit of a toss pot, his voice sends me to sleep quicker.

It was embarrassing the way he acted, I was fuming, didn't help me get to sleep last night the tit, was still awake at 1am and not good when up at 4 am, I nearly texted the whopper

Ed 25 I mean no disrespect to you our any other ed, and I mean that but ed002 is the one with contacts and is in the know about a lot of transfer activity just wondering how come he very rarely posts on this site we including yourself have a lot of questions about transfers that we would love some insight into just wondering when and if he could just plaster it on this site for us and if he had already done it well my apologies I just did not see it.

{Ed025's Note - ED002 certainly is a fountain of knowledge stef, you would not believe the contacts and people he meets on a regular basis and we are very lucky to have him, a while ago he got a lot of abuse on this site and decided to take us out of his editing window, but after a request from myself he now has us back on his list, he has posted some info on here but its hard when there is not much happening mate..

28 Aug 2015 09:40:02
Think he stopped posting for a while after he was given grief after Lukaku signed because he didn't think it would happen, which, to be fair, barely anyone did. Bit pointless losing some general itk information from him. Having read the other sites, he seems pretty legit.
