Deulofeu to return to Barcelona at end of season according to reports in Spain. With Jeli looking like going along with Heitinga, we need 3-4 good players in Jan window. We are short in MF and up front at mo so I hope Roberto has irons in the fire

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we will see at least 2 players arriving in jan, maybe more as we need strength and depth to keep in the hunt for the top 4

Agree0 Disagree0

Delboy only cannot go without Bobby's agreement. But sure we need MC, CB and ST.

Oscar Cardoza. 111 goals in 166 games over last 7 years and available at a reasonable price. Seen the links and rumours before but still only 30, 6'4 with a lethal left foot. Can hold it up and bring others into play. In our system he would play in the style of Giroud. Fast wingers buzzing around him. Plus anything in the box this guy will sniff it out and rip the net off. Massively underrated player and when I see people mentioning players like Shane Long. This guy far more attractive proposition.

Agree0 Disagree0

But at £13m out of our price range.

I reckon he would cost less than that now Mushy. Benfica aren't loaded, but his wages might be a problem. He might be one of those that would sooner pocket a wedge in China or somewhere than test himself in a proper league.

The game will go one of three ways: We win and people on here will be loving the football and think we are a shoe in for the champs league. Or we lose and people will be saying the bubble has burst and that they are fed up with passing from the back. Or we draw and there's a mixture of the two!

I trust the good eggs on this site to give a good dose of realistic optimism whatever the scenario!

We have had one blooper, and we were still the better team in the match. Osman is not rubbish, he has been good for us this season but shouldn't be in the position he was due to his lack of defensive abilities. For all the doom and gloomers. give your head a wobble and look forward to the game tomorrow. We are still having a cracking season. COYB!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Osman is still an important player for us, he has changed a few games in our favour this season when he has come on as sub

would anyone else try and get edin dzeko of city doesn't get much game time and has proved he can score in the premier league. thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would love dzeko but it would never happen. He is on 145 k a week and Dortmund where quoted £25 mill a few months ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Super sub at best.

I will eat my hat if that's the team tomorrow. I think more likely is:
Joel
Coleman, Jags, Distin, Baines
McCarthy, Oviedo
Pienaar, Osman (or Mirallas)
Barkley
Lukaku
Can't see Pienaar being dropped.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oviedo cm? I would guess
Howard
Coleman Distin jags Baines
McCarthy osman
Mirrallas Barkley pienaar
Lukaku

Massive game next against the Saints on Sunday. OK so they might only have been playing Cardiff (with all their off field problems) on Boxing Day, but that 3-0 scoreline was a statement that they can hurt teams when they break quickly.
Without Howard and Barry we're going to have to be at our best from the rest of the team. I think the key players will be James McCarthy and Ross Barclay. With another full house at Goodison the crowd will also play a major part. I just hope that we can be patient if things don't go to plan from the off and support the team whoever Roberto picks to start.
Onwards and upwards.
COYB.

will be a big test mate and I expect lukaku to be kept quiet by lovren who in my opinion has looked incredible this season so we need our wide and central players to be at their best and considering mirallas is running at luke shaw I don't have high hopes for him to have much of an impact, barkley against schneiderlin will be a good watch but I suspect schneiderlin will prevail, pienaar vs clyne should be disappointing but the greatest test of all will be for our full backs, oviedo vs lallana and coleman vs rodriguez, this game can be won and lost from anywhere on the pitch, good game for the neutrals and nail biting stuff for the fans of these two sides

Good post Mike and I totally agree with you. Let's hope the result against SAFC was a blip and that 3 points are gained for us.

Nothing to do with everton, but can I say i'm glad we don't have a person chairman like cardiff.just goes to show these foreign money men are interested in 1 thing. money.i generally hope malkey gets the support and backing of his new club because he will get a managers job very sharpish

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it's a case of be careful what you wish for dentielad, a large influx of dosh is not always the answer to a clubs problems, I know bill is not everyone's cup of tea mate, but I for 1 appreciate his work..

Thats what i'm saying Ed. We don't have a chairman who is a billionaire but he has the clubs best interests at heart. i'm glad Tan didn't try and buy Everton. couldn't see the change of strip colour going down too well lol.

Careful what you wish for in any takeover, my eyes have been really opened by what's happening at Cardiff . Better the Bill you know than the Tan you don't

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Discussing how mackay gas been treat.feel sorry for the bluebird fans over this one.absolute shambles of a chairman.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - I'm with you mate..

Think it's a disgrace at Cardiff changing the kit being by far the worse offence, the only thing I can say about the sacking is didn't we have this conversation last year about Southampton
