I can't look at the league table without feeling really angry at the moment. This is without doubt the best squad we've had at the club since the mid eighties yet we now languish behind clubs like stoke, west brom, swansea, newcastle and west ham. How has a club that has finished 5th 6th and 6th in the last 3 seasons and not outside the top 8 in the last 10 years suddenly accepted such a torrid league position. Listening to the most decorated captain in our history describe the league position were in as 'were we should be' in his commentry on thursday was like a punch in the stomach. I accepted a couple of months ago that we wouln't challenge for a european place this season but anything but a top ten finish is totally unacceptable with this squad of players. Looking at the table tonight that is fastly becoming a pipedream.

I lifsten to ratcliffe and think does this man want everton to ever win another trophy as he was the most successful captain in our history yet I listen to reidy snods sharpy diamond and almost all of are ex players and they al want us to succeed yet this person who let's not forget revelled in Shrewsbury knocking us out of the fa cup and has the gaul to slag us off whever given the opportunity this is the same guy who took Shrewsbury into non league fòtball and also deprived pat van den hauwe the opportunity to relivev25 years of 1985 because he had a grievance with him

{Ed025's Note - i must admit i have lost all respect for him al..

I agree it's bin disappointing in prem this season but feel really confident about tomorrow since Martinez has took over we have completely dominated arsenal in all games we have played even though we have not bin winning of late we are improving as a team and not losing at the moment I think we are actually struggling against the smaller sides as they are defending deep against us arsenal won't don't believe for one min we will go down but best we can hope for now is 8th 9th personally I would take that this season if we were to reach Europa final and possibly win tbh I really believe we can go all the way in this comp also I think Gibson can make the dif on the run in if kept fit he the one player we have that can play that through ball and get us moving forward much quicker must start tomorrow wins are coming have faith people Martinez will come good players must take some blame for the current situation

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - i enjoyed that coby...good post mate..

I know commentators aren't supposed to be biased, and I think Ratcliffe is over compensating, trying to be neutral, but coming across as a pratt, but won't it be good if for just one game we had someone totally blue banging our drum. I vote for swan and degsy to do the next commentary. We might have to put them in seperate cages though!

Jeez I do not like looking at the present league table. Tomorrow a point would be good; the ar*e have to come and win it so you never know we might get more.

{Ed025's Note - they will be hurting from midweek zulu, so im expecting us to get the backlash of that mate, i think we will have to be at our best to get a result..

Tough ask but after this Palace result anything other than 3 points at the Emirates tomorrow and we are back in the thick of things,
Martinez you need to forget about putting yourself in the European shop window - your not Luis Enrique's replacement, start looking at our bread & butter competition get some results ffs.

28 Feb 2015 17:36:38
Sorry to correct you mate but although we have dropped to 14th our points difference between us and 18th spot is still 6pts and a much superior goal difference effectively means we are 7pts off the drop.
But that is not good enough for Everton FC

{Ed025's Note - thats right mushy..

28 Feb 2015 21:02:20
Of course you are correct, at the time of posting games were still being played. As for magic mushrooms I reckon Roberto must have them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I know this is the Everton banter site, but seeing as the red side are our bitter rivals, just a quick comment on the news: How did they get away with breaking the UEFA financial fair play rules. Poor old Hull City must be wondering what's going on. It is obvious to me that the spending of LFC has been in the region of 400 to 600 million over the last couple of years. I accept they brought quite a bit in from Suarez, but I cannot think of much other income they have generated from sales. Even Man City have been punished and they have hardly spent anything in the last couple of seasons. The whole thing stinks to me.

{Ed001's Note - it is because the money was lost due to the stadium, that does not count under the FFP ruling. It is a mess by UEFA, these things should be obvious for all, rather than having to be argued about afterwards.}

28 Feb 2015 11:01:38
What loss to stadium Ed? What cost have they had in the 100's of millions? I looked at the rules and they are really a set of rules which then have a get-out clause at the end which basically states that UEFA have the right to interperet what is and isn't generated from footballing activities and can punish/not punish clubs as they feel. Sounds to me like the off side rule.ie as clear as sticky thick mud.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they wrote off the debt incurred from the previous owners work on a new stadium. I do agree though, the rules are not good.}
