Love Coleman to bits but I really think it's time we changed the RB position.
He's been an absolute rock for us over the years but he's just far too predictable and gives the ball away far too often for my liking.
I'd use him for cup runs and either give Kenny a long run or wait for January and enter the market.
Also Lookman has to start. he will be a class player given a run. and a better option than Walcott I believe.
My other concern is how does Mina get a game as to drop either Keane or Zouma would be unfair yet I'm desperate to see what all the fuss was about.
Silva starting to prove his worth with the displays and more so the maturity of his post match comments. only better times to come.

Agree, thought it for a few weeks now that Seamus has lost a yard of pace. He can still do a job but feel against better players he will get found out. He doesn’t seem to get forward as much as he used to. It’s a shame but like Baines it happens to everyone. I don’t doubt he still has the passion and we still love our 60k player.
Walcott is still a good player but had a poor game today and no player is guaranteed to start and it’s good that we have competition for places. Lookman on form looks a threat and deserves his chance.
Richarlison should be moved out to the left as I think Bernard needs time to adapt to the English game but when he does he will be a top player.
A Striker must be a priority ASAP Tosun is not a first choice striker and DCL is still learning.
It’s good that we have options though.

Keep singing yes do agree with you, United where pretty good today and we are a long way off being a top club but going in the right direction I think.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Oct 2018 05:59:58
I disagree with most of that. I think we were in that game. I think we created chances. I think in another game we might have sneaked a draw. I think we put a fight up until the last minute and went for a win. I also think it is a million times better than it was the last 3 or 4 seasons. Finally I think if we keep conceding 2 goals, we will not win many games. So although Keane and Zouma may be "playing well", there is a reason we keep conceding goals and I am not blaming Coleman for that. I think we need Mina in and then we will see how we do. We may not be a top 6 side yet, but we are certainly a thousand times better than last season and at least have a platform to build on. The top 6 sides do not concede 2 goals every game. They may score more than us overall, but the main difference is they do not concede as many as us.

It's not one our best grounds to go to but most of them put in a good shift, but it looks like Walcotts head could be elsewhere. Anyone fancy Vardy the papers are linking him with us again?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we do need a CF penysarn but im not sure that vardy is the answer, hes a bit one dimensional for me mate..

29 Oct 2018 07:15:23
Your right Eds but he will run all day mate, anyway it's only paper talk again, but what do you thinks going wrong will Walcott its two weeks running now he's not been himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i really dont know penysarn, the link up between him and seamus is not working as well as him and kenny but he has to make it work, he also needs to track back more as he left coleman exposed against their best player mate..

29 Oct 2018 07:22:02
Good call on vardy being predictable. He relies on pace the good sides nullify him. Said for ages on our flank defenders Baines and Coleman are WB's not FB's and often out of position
We appear to have sorted the LB with Digne though. At risk of repeating myself, recruit a CF (god knows where from though) , a RW and RB (Kenny a run as first choice! ) .

I was one of the ones who thought we were hard done by in some of early games, the Wolves and Bournemouth games. Some of the refs decisions against us have been nothing short of scandalous. I was at the game yesterday and once again we were robbed by the ref. Both teams had good spells and some good chances but a couple of dodgy decisions has robbed us of a point. It was never a penalty and Smalling should have walked.
I for one cannot wait for VAR to be introduced, because if we had it this season we would be a touch higher up that league.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Oct 2018 16:02:44
Tbh smit I thought smalling shouldve walked in the first half.
For me that was a studs up tackle from behind and how he never got a second booking for the pen is mistifying.
We gave them too much space again and we got overun.
We had the chances to win that game but as soon as he gave that pen to them it was an uphill struggle.
The positive is we kept fighting till the end and deserved at least a point.
We will get there though.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we will get there pauly, on the first issue he could have sent gana off for exactly the same thing (even though we know he got the ball) so we cant really complain mate..

29 Oct 2018 16:49:51
That's true ed and tbh I thought he was going to book gana.
I still think the smalling tackle from behind would be been a straight red at any other ground.
I'm keeping positive about the result though because we dominated at times in the second half but the referee determined the game and I'm tired of being on the receiving end of such bad decisions.
Arsenal and man Utd have resulted in losses and I just want to see us win those games rather than just have a good performance ya know? I'm happy we did enough in both games but it still goes down as failing against the so called top 6.
I honestly believe we will crash that party soon though so I'm trying hard to keep my patience.
Gomes is going to be one of our greats in my opinion and we need to get in first when he comes up for sale.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - martial played very well pauly but for me gomes was the best player on that pitch, he is a superb player and as you say i hope we have first dibs on him mate, we need a quality CF in january and then im sure we will be giving the bigger teams a hard game..

29 Oct 2018 18:02:56
Spot on ed. Totally agree.
The big question though is just who do we actually buy as a CF?
We need to unearth an unknown gem in my opinion.
That's the only way I can see us getting value for money.
It's a big ask I know but I really believe that's our way forward.
We would have to make a massive bid for any big name goalscorer and let's be honest here we can't offer European football just yet so it would be hard to convince an established name.
We shouldn't be looking at giroud either.
We should look to our scouting network to find the next big goal machine and get him at a reasonable price.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its a tough one pauly, i wanted arnautovic when he left stoke but of course that ship has sailed and he looks chelse bound im hearing, if want a big name then he will of course cost top dollar and even though moshiri is prepared to splash the cash its still a big ask, we may need brands to weave some of his magic mate and as you say get us the next big thing...well heres hoping..

29 Oct 2018 18:42:04
With most of us and reports saying that Walcot was/ is currently the weak link in the way Mr Silva likes to play then surely now we will see if Mr Silva is as flexible and if not ruthless at least determined in his approach to competition for places. Lookman for sure has shown in his all to brief appearances that he has that change of pace, ability and skill to improve on Walcott. Add the determined Calvert LLewin (spelling) into the equation and we will see what happens against Brighton.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your right BCT we will see how marco deals with the situation and what the pecking order is, as much as i like lookman i still think he is behind bernard and richarlison for that right wing spot and im unsure how he would fare in the right, richie has tried his best at CF but a blind man could see thats not his bag mate so i think we have to play either DCL or tosun, at least until january and hope that the club can get a quality front man in..

30 Oct 2018 16:40:29
Put in a £60m bid Lukaku 😜.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think we have moved on from him STB..

28 Oct 2018 20:23:11
Positive performance and very unlucky with the timing and award of the penalty against Gana
However it was obvious early doors that Martial's pace was a problem for Seamus and Walcott would need to put a shift in to help out, unfortunately he didn't.
In fact his lack of control led to both goals, the second totally galling as his lack of first touch control gifted the ball to Utd and instead of busting a gut to recover his mistake he ambles back, showing absolutely no awareness of what was going on around him.
He has been poor most of the season and Lookman needs an extended run because he offers much more in terms of skill on the ball, he also has a change of pace and has far more awareness of the possibilities around him. Given the chance I believe he will add substantially to the attacking threats we are posing the opposition.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - not far wrong there fancy mate..

29 Oct 2018 14:21:00
I'm not sure how much Lookman would track back, i wouldn't mind seeing Bernard on the right and Ricky on the left with Walcott and Lookman coming on as subs for a few weeks.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Oct 2018 20:03:32
He certainly is prepared to put his foot in which led to him berating Mata to the ball releasing Siggy to play Ricky in for the penalty.
The boy undoubtedly has the talent what he needs is the chance to show it by starting games. Look what Wilson, the Liverpool youngster, is achieving on loan at Derby. He was very average to start off with but Lampaard realised his potential and continued to play him and he is now really turning it on for both club and country.
And Lookman is better!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Oct 2018 14:12:46
I think that's a good shout Smit. I'd also start DCL up front against Brighton because I think the pace and trickery of those three could capitalise on Brighton's lack of pace at the back, although they have looked decent this year. I'd also start Mina in place of Zouma to bed him in before the latter is ineligible against Chelsea.

Either way I hope we put on a performance because it will be the first time I've got to Goodison this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Oct 2018 19:55:21
The only difference today was our goalkeeper was outstanding, utd played all the right through balls and crosses, that was the difference, too many times we got into great position twice Walcott and once Bernard with a player waiting in the box for a cross, only to be ignored.

Then when we get a decent cross in Walcott and Siggerson are both static in the box, not attacking the ball.

Can also add an absolute joke of a penalty against us.

We need a top class striker who can score on a regular basis.

Time and again over the past weeks, Digmi has put some great crosses in with no quality attacking them.

Get a striker and we will be fine.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

28 Oct 2018 20:25:51
Walcott was a bad buy and I think we are stuck with him he wouldn't be I'm my 11 maybe the bench untill he can be sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Oct 2018 21:30:54
I said earlier that Kenny and Walcot appeared to have a good understanding, whereas Coleman and he do not appear to have that understanding, the only reason i can think of is that Coleman makes the same runs as Walcot. It is a conundrum particularly as Walcot was persuaded to come to us on the promise of his being able to wander across the line. Under our new Management and system, we have to have width ergo as I said, a condundrum. We need not only a decent CF who knows where the goal is but a RW and RB in my opinion. Progress for me especially playing this good football at last, is for us to finish at least where we did last season, 7th to 10th with respect is not progress. However, We will beat one or more of the top 6 this season playing the way we do, I am convinced of that. Onwards and upwards starting with Brighton next week.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Oct 2018 19:54:13
As someone elsewhere said after Pogba scored via a very dubious penalty and Martial scored his usual goal against us we lost our confidence and our way for a bit and made United look better than what they are. The difference with past seasons though is we rallied and by the end we should have got something out of the game. Smalling should have seen red as should Young but so could Idrissa so I guess it evened itself up. Never mind. Even in defeat there were positive signs for the future COYB.

We gave 100% and kept gping to the end but sadly the right result but not downhearted a lot of good things today.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Oct 2018 18:40:47
At least we put the effort in today thought we played well but I kind of knew yesterday that we would get beat today as my 80 year old mum always says to me; they always get beat Everton.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

28 Oct 2018 18:33:43
Pickford was outstanding today and it was never a penalty for me, Martial made a meal of it. Well impressed again with Gomes, he is quality. Walcott had another shocker so I'll be amazed if he's in the first eleven for the next game. Bernard wasn't particularly great either. Richarlison has really got on my nerves lately by going down at every opportunity, he needs to stamp it out of his game and he need to be played out on the wing again. Coleman didn't have a good game either. Sigurdssons penalty was smashed in. Maybe in another game we would have ended up with a point.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - cant argue with any of that howie mate..

28 Oct 2018 18:46:46
Spot on Howie mate. You nailed it there.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Oct 2018 19:16:07
Fair enough Man Utd were better in parts. As Silva said though never a penalty if that doesn't happen we are good enough for a draw. Conundrum Kenny and Walcot together understanding. Coleman makes the same runs as Walcot no understanding. If we keep Coleman Walcot to the bench. Tosun up front and Richarlison Lookman on the flanks. Finally am an advocate of don't change a winning team. The team that started today was not the winning Team of last week.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - seamus and theo were poor today BCT, we need to change it a bit for me as well we are crying out for a proper centre forward mate, richie tries but thats not his game and we need him on the wing to create..

28 Oct 2018 19:52:07
Any decent CF will A. Cost a fortune B. Want at least European Cup. We are in a catch 22 situation. let's hope Brands (with his contacts) can unearth a gem.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Oct 2018 18:20:23
Today showed that there is still improvements that have to be made (over time) but I can definitely see us moving forward. Even in defeat today it was miles better that watching games last season. Digne has been that good so far he makes me forget baines! Agree with most posters a CF and RB are a must as soon as we can get the right man in. If not jan then summer.
Thing are looking up 😀.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

28 Oct 2018 18:08:21
Defo a vastly improved side to last year just a couple of tweeks in Jan and we can play against any of em.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we need a centre forward badly GB and a right back, on a positive note i thought gomes was the best player on the park mate..

28 Oct 2018 18:26:04
So do I Ed mate, though Jordan was outstanding.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - had his best game for us imo GB..

28 Oct 2018 18:41:07
I agree Ed. Gomes is very good. And is adapting very quickly to the PL. I found Wallcot disappointing, maybe needs dropping but not sure about a replacement. Zouma we need to sign permanently although he might not fancy leaving Chelsea. Lookman deserves a go from the start and Pickford is just superb.

I was disappointed with the end result as it looks like If a team are struggling we abluge by putting them back on track. West Ham and united for example.

But as has been said. It’s better than last season, although I’ve not seen anything as bad as last season since the walker seasons.

Plenty of positives still. But same old result Away to united. Focus on making Goodison a stronghold again and build from there.

As BJU said the other day. Anything from 7th to 10th with exciting football and I’d be happy, then build on that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - me too ace..

28 Oct 2018 15:30:03
Just seen the line-up, probably our strongest team I think.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Oct 2018 15:11:56
Doesn’t matter how much they’ve been underperforming as of late, that Man Utd starting lineup is very good, we will have to be at our very best here COYB.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Oct 2018 15:25:48
Everton starting line up not bad either with a strong bench as well.

I just want us to have a bloody good go, as long as we put a performance in, cannot ask for any more than that.

{Ed025's Note - 2-2 for me lee..

Haven't posted on here in a while guys, hope everyone as well. Gutting news about Leicester yesterday, an owner who has done so much for their club and city, it's amazing to see how the whole football world comes together and I also wish Glenn Hoddle a speedy recovery in a very sad day yesterday.

Been quietly getting excited about the blues at the minute, I missed the palace game unfortunately but we showed quality getting the goals at the end and it sounded like the atmosphere was great. I am optimistic about today which is hasn't happened going to a top 6 club for a while. I just hope we play our game and I think that's Marco will do, be a great benchmark to see where are at.
It's going to be another Oviedo baby day I hope today, come on the blues 2-1 to the ev.

Football is a funny old game as the old saying goes. I laugh at some of the posts on here and some make me cringe. I have had heated debates with some on here including the Eds at times. But when you see what happened at Leicester City yesterday. the word perspective comes to mind. We are all bouncing at the moment for the improvement in our club. How must Leicester City supporters feel after them winning the league and now the terrible news of the accident? One can only imagine and I believe everyone associated with this site sends their wishes to Leicester City.
