Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

Im sat here so frustrated at our club at the minute, & i'm trying to figure out how much trouble we are in.
The question i'd like to ask (i probably know the answer) whos choice/decision/fault is our transfer inactivity? The manager in January said a GK was a priority now he says its not, he says kone is the answer if lukaku is injured, Now, does he reallly believe this or is he dealing with what he has? Anyone with any sense knew we needed 5-7 players in the door. So is the manager even more deluded than some think or is he being let down by a board that has no clue how to run a club that can compete with mid table teams fiancially? (my guess if i'm honest) Now, there must be some money available as we have tried to sign players. In May Martinez was very open about having identified his targets, He has the cheapest two so far+both good deals in my opinion, but tbh we are in
desperate need of at least 1 cb, lw, acm, fwd, and a gk! So we have strenghtened the only department we weren't in desperate need of, that doesn't make any sense, until you see the price of the deals. So what next Do we sell somebody(bodies if you are the press) do we sign a few bench warmers and not improve our team for the 2nd season in a row and get the well we kept the group together crap or do we surprise everyone and buy 2-3 players who improve us! The next four weeks are going to be very interesting blues, big games manager & board under scrutiny, potential departures/unrest! i'm worried this will be worse than deadline day 2011. Hope i'm wrong

We really need to be signing first team players that are going to strengthen our team, I think Van Dijk is a good player not as back up but to challenge Jags and Stones for a start, we also need another GK as a long term replacement for Howard. I would have Austin as a striker I think he can push Lukaku all the way for a start or could be an option alongside him. We need more creativity in CM and a left sided midfielder who can provide the service for the strikers. We don't need journeymen to fill the ranks if indeed we have the ambition to push on!

I'm not an expert but it looked to me that David Henen went off with a hamstring injury after 30mins at Tranmere. One positive is that we have players of real potential in Ledson, Donoghue and Davies.

I was working on west hams new stadium in February til April doing the steels in the roof. To be honest it's not a very good football stadium. It holds 60k, they don't even get 30 at the min. The lay out of the ground seems strange it don't have any atmosphere and there ain't much architecture to it. It's basically concrete with cheap plastic seats I have some pics can I post anywhere. When they play the ground will be half empty and dead.

If we had it God knows what we could pull in

This is getting depressing now, the stones, McCarthy, Lukaku tabloid rumours, have we actually got money to buy before we, if we have to sell, and have we actually got targets, because players I've seen us linked with have gone elsewhere, its time the Everton board stepped upto the plate and pull there fingers out, cleverly and Deulofeu only medioca at the best

Ed, any word around the club as to why we are still yet to find a new owner? We are getting left behind year on year. Selling Stones would be another sign we are financially vulnerable to the big boys. Can't stand mourinho arogant t@t

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - no news at all on a new owner stanny, imo bill does not want to sell, he is looking for investment so that he can remain as chairman and for me i can see his point, my beef is that with all the sky money coming in we should be able to keep up with the stoke,s and southamptons of this world mate..but it seems we cant..

29 Jul 2015 21:49:19
I'm hoping that the reason we ain't spending has got something to do with our new stadium and putting some faith in some of our youngsters

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hmmm, that is a very nice outlook on things revs, if a little naive my old friend..

29 Jul 2015 22:03:05
I think I am being a little naive mate. Just clinging to the hope that there has got to be some sort of decent reason why we are stood still

Going to be a lot of very embarrassed people on here if Stones isn't sold. Would appear club have no intention of selling him. What would be good now would be if they bought another CD to add to the squad and strengthen that position. Make a statement to Mourino that he can't have all the sweets in the shop. Oh and another striker please.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Like your chums down the road at Liverpool have been told - nobody cares when a club "makes a statement". An entire city based on cliches?}

29 Jul 2015 19:54:03
totally agree Woburn, too many on here have, rightly or wrongly, bought the hype the press have been peddling. I expect him to be in the starting line up for the Watford game unless we are offered silly money (40m will do!)
ed002, to be fair, every player has his price no matter what club they play for. Ronaldo had one at utd, Suarez and Sterling at Liverpool, Bale at Spurs. And football in general is littered with cliches, not too sure what you meant by your last comment

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about "every player has his price". That might well be another cliche.}

29 Jul 2015 20:40:55
I was asking what you meant by "an entire city based on cliches"
When you said "nobody cares when a club makes a statement" I assumed you meant the club can say what they like, they will sell in the end.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - No, it is simply another football cliche used by fans of Liverpool and Everton.}

29 Jul 2015 22:16:52
Ed 02 sounds like he's looking for an argument probably a cockney beaut. Don't rise to her comments lads. Think he just learn't to spell cliche so he wants to use it loads.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Your spelling really is something else, "learn't". But as you are unhappy with any input I have, I won't provide anything further.}

29 Jul 2015 23:06:23
Wrong Ed the fans care. They really care. Because they have to believe. That's just how it is.

Berbatov released from Monaco, if we're that skint surely he's worth a 1 year contract? Mind you we'd surely have the laziest front line in the Prem.

If you are not rich, buying and selling players is like doing the same with buying and selling a house:

Can you sell the old on?
Is the offer to purchase subject to selling your old one?
Do you have to sell it before you can buy a new one?
Can you settle the mortgage on the old house?
Can you afford the mortgage on the new one?
Can you get a positive survey on your old one?
Can you afford the interest rate?
Is the house in a good area?
Does the new house need work before you can live in it?
Have you been keeping up with maintenance costs to keep our house decent value?
Did you buy your existing house as good value for money or because it had a swimming pool?

Well McGeady and Kone have expensive mortgages and are so dilapidated we can't sell them. Barkley has been found to have a leaking roof and we never noticed. Hennen is a good property but a lot of work is required. Cleverly is not in the right area but a sound investment. Del Boy is a long lease and the seller may change his mind when we do it up a bit. Distan was old and falling apart. Payet and other good properties were out of our reach and it was a buyers market at the time. Stones prefers to be close to schools and decent transport. We have to sell to settle existing bonds (Lukaku). Mirallas looks a nice house until you find it was a dodgy builder who built it.
Basically, we live in a run down area without the chance of finding a decent house to live in. Our kids are out of school and want to move on to a better suburb.

I am not an estate agent by the way but I am sure you understand.

Dare I say Lukaku going down might not be the worst thing in the world. That statement is depending on the severity of course. Maybe now Martinez will finally capture a decent backup striker. Let the rumors begin!

Very inpressed by the fringe players to-night, but, even if the injury to Lukaku proves to be minor, it shows what a position we would be in if it where to happen afder the window shuts.Kone, no thanks, or maralis, if he stays, good through the middle, but even if his attitude is spot on, gives us no options, in the air, we must sign another proven striker, if Martinez cannot see this, he is an even bigger fool than I took him for.

Couldn't agree more. Isn't it funny that now that people watch him real time that there is now less criticism. I suppose though that he'll be leathered the minute he has a poor one.

He's a decent player just think he was made a scapegoat because of United's poor results.

What did he do that warranted any plaudits missed a free shot wide of the goal from 15 yards, let's see how he plays come August not against Dundee who played a shed load of kids aswell

I think he will be good for us he has lots of energy something we lacked last season and it's something we need back, been one of the reasons we have been use too for last 7 or 8 years
