How about a swap deal with Arsenal. Barkley for Perez? Would give us another quick striker up top. Thoughts.

Good shout that NBTB mate, if not Perez what about Giroud, cheers mate GuernseyBlue.

I'd prefer Giroud or wellbeck over Perez.

29 Jun 2017 21:42:47
Arsenal mate of mine was baffled with the game time Perez got, and when he did he took his chances and looked a decent player, if Perez is valued at £12 million and Everton now asking £25 million for Barkley, I would try a cheeky part exchange, Barkley for Perez and Girioud. Or Perez and £13 million.

Hi Ed 025,just seeing what is going on at Everton at the moment one cannot but fail to be impressed with the way this transfer window is going, it is not even open but true to his word R K is getting a lot of his business done early before training starts, and they look very good signings along with the imminent arrival of Keane and Ramirez, if this carries on through the rest of the window this will be our best ever, couple this with Mr Moshiri and his backing of R K to the hilt, and soon our new stadium this is a hell of a time to be a Blue, as I have said before I have been a supporter since the sixties and this is putting us in the big league, we have waited for this time to come for a very long time, i am so happy to be on this journey, and thank Bill for getting us our new manager and our new owner, long may it continue, cheers GuernseyBlue.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - its going great at the moment GB and im sure we are all impressed with the speed and quality of our recruitments, we must remember though that integrating all these new guys into the squad will take a bit of time so hitting the ground running may not be instant, what we dont need is the moaning to start if we dont beat all before us mate especially with the tough start we have, its very exciting though as you say..

29 Jun 2017 21:18:53
Cant agree with u any more there ed its gona take time to gel the amount of player we are geting in an for them to all wrk as a unit am sure rk will get them going can't wait to be in the lower gwladys singin my heart out my dad always said an brother u will not remeber is wining a cup its the 1995 wembley was unreal and amazing the fans go wild but i think at age of 26 its looking like we can challange for some silver now i hope so anyway hahah Coyb we all got trust in the manger an the owner an back them as fans through the ups an downs 💙Bring on the season.

Early start in the Europa should help with them all to gel!

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 23:16:47
I did think about the gelling factor but I think RK has looked at the squad last season and identified what we needed and has tried to take a proactive approach. I think europa league starts for us mid July I really believe we will finish above spurs this season .

Hi Ed, which other forwards are we looking at? Are the likes of Dembele being looked at or is this paper talk? And is Niang all over now (hoping so) ! Cheers!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - niang wants arsenal deano, we are still very interested in dembele and dolberg as far as i know mate, sandro is still a bit up in the air but we are still heading that queue..

29 Jun 2017 22:37:55
Nice one Ed, haven't seen any of Dolberg and hoping if we were to land Dembele that he'd cut it in the Premiership. Excited for the season ahead!

{Ed025's Note - i think we all are deano..

Hi Ed, bit confused about something regarding Work Permits:

So Onyekuru will be going on loan to Anderlecht next season because we can't get a work permit. What will be different next Summer? Would he be guaranteed one?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - not guaranteed one hugo, but if he played for a significant time and maybe got an international call up then things like that help mate..

29 Jun 2017 19:41:17
Will playing CL/ EL help too?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yes hugo, it all adds up mate..

29 Jun 2017 19:36:24
How does it work with footballers. Having lived and worked outside EU I know that it comes down to whether a suitably qualified person in he home country is available and wants the job. only then can the hiring company recruit from outside their 'home territory' however football is a little more subjective. regarding the suitably qualified person. n that note does it purely come down to other qualifications, i. e. number of intl caps? Given Belgium is in EU and he plays in Belgium, do you know how their permit rules differ to ours. given we are still an EU member?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The permit rules are much stricter .}

29 Jun 2017 20:17:15
Great! Thanks Ed! Really excited about the signing of Onyekuru.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have to admit i never seen that one coming hugo, but its great to see up and coming players like him picking us over the so called bigger boys mate..

29 Jun 2017 20:51:31
Im guessing itll get much stricter once we are out of the EU too?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats certainly a factor hugo..

Time to get a few off the books now - if Simon Grayson gets the nod at Sunderland, McGeady will be a certainty to follow him there. Then Garbutt, Steklenburg, Galloway, Jagielka, McCarthy.? Loads of business still to be done. Exciting times!

Believable0 Unbelievable4

29 Jun 2017 18:12:34
Personally I'd definitely sell only McGeady and Garbutt out of them. Possibly McCarthy as it seems he wants to go. But Stek and Galloway I would definitely hold onto. Jags I think has at least one more good season in him as we have Europe and all. He would be a very good player to have on the bench and play sparingly for me.

29 Jun 2017 18:17:57
Keèp jags for another season at least.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 19:37:50
Of I was being selfish i'd keep Jags as well but I think he is better than being a bench warmer and deserves a move.

Same goes for the rest really. Robles should go as well as he is going and needs to be playing weekly. Keep Step as cover.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 20:20:31
It was really a compliment to Jags I was making. I didn't mean him to be a bench warmer. Imho Mori, Jags, Williams, and more than likely Keane would be good cover for two places. I would actually like to see Holgate getting an odd chance there or even Galloway.

I think we'll need them all. My point was to get the best out of Jags and maybe even Williams it would be good to rest them on occasion and as that is happening introduce the younger ones.

Its a good mix imho and let the cream rise to the top in terms of who gets the nod for the two places. Good competition. Which is fantastic for the team. Especially with the extra games coming up and starting early. No doubt injuries will set in too.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 21:41:16
Agree with most of your points tadpole but not too sure on letting Jags go just yet.
A bit like Barry, his best years are probably behind him now but his experience and presence in the dressing room will be important with both domestic and European games coming thick and fast in the new season.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 22:49:06
If he was happy to sit on the bench I'd definitely keep Jags. McCarthy too. But any player worth his salt wants to play and we should do right by Jags if he wants to seek first team football. Either way, it's great to feel confident that we will start the season with a squad capable of troubling the big boys!

Morning all.

Just read this on news now that Chelsea haven't revealed any signings (Post linked with Lukaku) because they are waiting for their kit sponsor with Adidas to expire and their new one (Nike) to begin and then they can do all the revealing of the players in the new strips.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jun 2017 08:06:46
It's an interesting point. Brands are very sensitive about shirt launches and I can see why deals may need to wait. But I don't think this is the reason they haven't announced Lukaku yet, as I think they just haven't sorted the transfer yet. Maybe transfer fee is still an issue?

I think it will happen, but don't believe their shirt release is the reason.

I've got a funny feeling he is staying now Ace, got to admit would be nice with him and Sandro up front.

29 Jun 2017 11:10:41
Possibly Degs, yes. And that's a nice combo indeed. I also think he wants Chelsea so bad that he'll turn down others. Then might well stay another season. Or am I just wishful thinking?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 11:36:21
He could stay another season to drive his price down as he will only have 12 months left on his deal, agents ain't stupid and they make players decisions for them. If we want £100m with 2 years left come January that price is lower as the contract ticks down, then as a club if you leave it until that summer with only 12 months remaining, you play roulette as if you don't get him sold come the following January the player is free to discuss a deal with foreign clubs. I reckon the deal will be struck at around the £65m mark with potential add ons and sell on clause, just my opinion like.

Agree1 Disagree1

29 Jun 2017 14:06:36
unless i missed something has lukaku ever said he wants to leave? i don't want to sign a new contract is no way to define his immediate future i think he will leave but would not be suprised if he has intended to stay another year all along and its poss koeman is aware of this. but like i say he probs will go cause of the links to other teams. kinda wanna see the back of him tho if i'm honest wanna see players who want to play for efc and the rom saga is defining in one way if nothing else. he wants to play elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 15:06:00
I sort of get what you are saying BlueGray87 but there is one vital thing you have missed out, that is the greed of the agent. I don't know how much his agent charges in commission but I will wager it is between 10% and 20%. Now 20% of £100m is a massive £20m where as this time next year sell for £50m and it is worth £10 to him. Never underestimate the greed of the agent when advising the player on what is "best" for them.

29 Jun 2017 17:04:25
He might not have said he wants to leave but he has said staying at Everton isn't really an option which amounts to the same thing in my opinion.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 17:36:12
I think he's gone and yes I am gutted. But I hate to say it Everton fans are not helping the situation. I read a report regarding Lukaku posting a sarcastic twitter about playing on a different 5 a side pitch with no Chelsea crests obviously it wasn't good towards us fans. Well the reply comments from the Everton fans let's just say you wouldn't show your mother. We are giving absolutely no reason at all for him to change his mind. We brought it on ourselves.
I'm using we because we are all tarnished under the same brush.

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jun 2017 18:04:10
I think his agent charges more that 20% judging by the kerfuffle with the Pogba agent fee that was under investigation.
And to be honest right now I would like to see Lukaku gone, I thank him for his service to our club but would prefer we move on from the circus that surrounds him and move the club forward concentrating on football matters!

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 18:23:37
He should read some of the Chelsea fans tweets about what they think of signing him because some of them aren't pretty either Mowfee.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 20:25:26
Mowfee82 even though I am totally 100% against any sort of abuse towards players. We did not bring this on ourselves.

Lukaku brought it all on himself. He has never done anything to squash any rumours. Look at Coleman, within one or two days of being linked to Utd he came out straight away and said I'm going nowhere. Pity he's one in million in regard to football players nowadays.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 21:39:15
Please not Sandro cannot see what you all see in him, just not for the prem league.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2017 23:44:04
NBTB right there that's exactly what I mean. You say you're against abuse, but literally in the next paragraph you're saying he brought it all on himself. So you're literally ok-ing it. However he's constructed his business by talking to the media playing on a football pitch with Chelsea crests. He doesn't deserve to have his twitter account over run from stupid Everton fans hurling profanities at him. If he goes I'll be gutted but you know what. I'm still breathing I'll get over it. End of the day it's a game for us and a job for football players. People take it too far.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2017 08:18:20
Oking it, not really. I don't agree with it. It is wrong to give too much abuse. There is a line that is broken too often.

However at the same time I feel no sympathy for Lukaku as he brought it on himself. I don't see Everton fans hurling abuse at Jags, Baines, Barry or pretty much any other player. Maybe Barkley a little. Why is that Mowfee82?

Its because these two players have shown little respect for the club recently. Especially Lukaku. So therefore even though I'm not for the abuse I'm not going to condone it as in my opinion they brought it on themselves.

Barkley not as much. He is a little confused imho but Lukaku wanted out of Everton before he even became an Everton player.
