Have a look at Sergi Roberto (plays for Barcelona) he's only 20 years old and he's a good attacking midfielder and sooooooo calm on the ball.
Worth looking for next season, maybe a buy? Hope so. Good times ahead lads!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's more highly rated than Del Boy a the moment and would cost an arm and a leg

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Mate, In Barca they consider him as the next Xavi. So they wouldn't sell or Loan!

. well with the topsy turfy results of today, it just goes to prove that every weekend between now & the end of the season will I'm sure bring it's surprises with some of the score lines concerning the top 6 teams in the premier league. of course, all everton need to do is keep winning their games & who knows, we may just clinch that 4th spot - if we best Fulham, the gooners next week & win our game in hand against palace we will already be in 4th place & ahead of the 'arse' by 2 points. I'm trying to be positive folks as there have been some really negative posts on here tonight.& just because the gooners gained 1 point from a draw? The situation in hand for us toffees hasn't changed tonight from what it was before that game at the Emirates tonight - we simply need to win as many games as we can between now & the end of the season. & with delefeo now back to his best, jags back & lukaku firing again, there's every chance from what I can see. & before I get any manic depressives telling me otherwise, just remember our gaffer is widely renowned as being 1 of the best tactical geniuses in the league & did actually have a spell as Wigan manager of winning 8 league games on the trot some seasons ago + of course the miraculous fa cup win with them last season against all the odds against some very good opposition too! So, whilst Martinez is in charge as manager. anything is possible as he is ultra positive, makes the players believe & quite frankly is everything that dour Davey wasn't!! Watch this space!! :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Todays result was not perfect, but I totally agree with Zacki, 4th place is still very much available, if we win all our remaining games we finish 4th. So to all the negative fans why not get behind the lads and we give it our best shot. It is a huge ask but not impossible, We start with getting behind the boys tomorrow against Fulham, if we fall short so be it, but don't give it up just yet. COYB.

think that's 4th place gone thanks to city

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Mar 2014 20:03:37
Its been gone since the derby, all the evertonians getting their hopes up, we are everton, it never has and never will go our way, sooner people realise this the better, we aren't good enough, lucky enough and most of all rich enough, seaons been finished for ages, just a case of getting the games out the way

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you really are a ray of sunshine swan, why do you think the season is over?, there is a european place to play for....get a grip mate..

29 Mar 2014 20:37:19
Yes can't wait for thursday night football against genk, freiburg and bursapor, how exciting, not to mention the disastrous effect it will have on our squad which will make next seasons premier league a whole lot harder, is this it? We are going nowhere, neither backwards nor forwards, our 'its not the winning that counts its the taking part' attitude is really tiresome now, seasons finished ed, nothing to look forward too, europa league or not, let's just get our remaining fixtures out the way so we can look forward to the world cup so we can laugh at england failing again, then get brought back down to earth next season and go nowhere, its not fighting for really is it?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - sigh..

Good lord who needs enemies when there are friends like this get a life, GuernseyBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Swan your a manic depressive mate your that bad you even transfer your depression to me I can't speak for everyone but I would rather have a chance of winning the Europa than nothin' and just because were in that it don't mean we can't do nothin' in the league other teams manage to do it so do us all a favour an give it a rest

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Mar 2014 21:21:58
Other teams manage it? Like liverpool, newcastle and swansea have done you mean? Oh yeah, well, that could be us, we also have no chance of winning europa, becasue if we do reach a big game, our player will, kinda sh*te themselves as they've been doing foe nearly twentie years now, mind you, its nice to know we won't get relegated, however, its not so nice knowing we cannot compete with chelsea, city, arsenal and liverpool because we don't have the moola to compete with them, hence, we will never go anywhere, anyway I don't need no cwtchs from anyone, its true like, with their rich owners, we have nothing, just have to keep up, never overlap them but just keep up

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats a very negative attitude swan, how about the fact that we might play the likes of napoli, juventus, schalke, athletico etc under lights at goodison, not to mention the prestige and financial gains we can make, im all for supporters having points of view mate..but christ..you make it seem like hell..

29 Mar 2014 22:41:15
Aye it will be good playing them at goodison, also travelling aswell to places like italt and spain but eh, when you mention those teams it reallt does destroy any possibility of us winninf it and what financial gain? Apparently you get bugger all in europa, you know I've been out and had some deep thoughts about us and ed can you see us ever competing with chelse and city? I can't and I ddont think we can even hope for it, we will never go anywhere, we are just in a decent car while city, liverpool and chelsea are miles ahead in aeroplanes, thankfully clubs like fulham and cardiff only have skateboards so they won't catch us, but we will never catch those planes so what is there to look forward too, what goal do we have? Maybe we think if we have a goal we might not reach it but if we don't have one then we are never disappointed, by god its difficult being an evertonian and I don't want any 'support someone else' rubbish, I love this football club but I just worry we will never experience any real joy, I was two months old when we last won a trophy, I couldn't celebrate it, I worry young kids growing up will never see us compete or do anything as a club, its not nice and i'm just worried is all, probably taking it a bit far like but its true, without money we can't really do anything

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - in that case...why watch football at all? the whole meaning of life, is to aspire to achieve greater things, can we win the prrem at the moment?...no..can we win it in the future..of course we can, a few years ago city were in the 3rd tier, and a laughing stock, you never know what will happen..

How the hell is 4th place gone anyway? If we win tomorrow which is very do-able we're on 60 points, we have a game in hand at Goodison against Palace which again is very do-able 63 points (a point behind the arse) and if we put in a good shift against arsenal at Goodison with a near full strength team with momentum I still seem to think it's in our hands. Arsenals last 3 results L6-0, D2-2, D1-1 . Evertons W3-2, W0-3 and tomorrow's which I believe we'll win. We're the team with the momentum going into the last 8 fixtures so I say bring them on! Some fans giving up cause the arse got 1 point. Get a grip. It's what we do that counts and we looked awsome at St James Park Tuesday night. I for one certainly haven't given up on Champions League next season especially with Bobby at the helm. COYB!

Agree0 Disagree0

Too right Peter. 4th place is definitely on, though after Palace beating Chelsea yesterday we cannot afford to take Fulham lightly today.
Swan's negativity amazes me. Even if we don't make 4th, the Europa wouldn't be a disgrace or disappointment. European football back at Goodison would be tremendous even if it meant playing PL games on Sundays.
But hey that's the worst case scenario. Let's be positive going into the last few games. Arsenal CAN be caught and must be particularly concerned looking over their shoulders at present. These next 2 games are massive. Let's go for it. COYB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously Swan, why don't you go and follow Bayern Munich cause they win everything or have everything. What's the point of following Everton if you are going to be so negative all the time. It's called mate "we dare to dream". And when we win some silverware, I will enjoy it with the millions of Everton supporters around the world. Off you go bud go and barrack for Bayern if you are going to support not bag The mighty Everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow don't know what's happened to swan last night but I'm guessing you're venting your frustration on here, I agree the Europa is a waste of time and we need investment (which in the prem we will struggle to get) to bridge the gap consistantly but my god that's about as negative as it gets, posts like that make me think why you even bother, pick a new sport and pick the champions make your. Life easier on yourself

Agree0 Disagree0

Despite how attainable (or not) the task of gatecrashing the top 4 and becoming a real force is, I like to think of it like this: When it happens, it will be so much sweeter to have done it without losing who we are or compromising for a rich owner who fancies himself on Football Manager.

I love everything about Everton, and I will always live in hope, because otherwise what's the point in me spending all this money watching them week in week out?

Don't lose hope Swan, I can only presume you had a bad night on the sauce last night.

Agree0 Disagree0

4th place a strong possibility.
Europa league. i'd have it . European football at Goodison. Also even getting into Europa league will attract a wider scope of player.yes they all want champions league but europa league is still European football.

Man city bottled it! That's an extra pint we have to make up now! We really need to win all of our remaining games! It's a tall order but possible!

Some good & young strikers which we could get in the summer and they really know how to create or score goals:
Victor Ibarbo - ST - Cagliari - 23 years
Alvaro Morata - ST - Real Madrid - 21 years
Iker Muniain - ST - Athletic Club - 21 years
Adrián - ST - Atletico de Madrid - 26 years
Kevin Volland - ST - Hoffenheim - 21 years
Roberto Firmino - MID - Hoffenheim - 22 years
Danny Ings - ST - Burnley - 21 years
Rubén Castro - ST - Real Betis - 32 years
Haris Seferovic - ST - Real Sociedad - 22 years

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nice suggestions, those here my thoughts:
Ibarbo - Good player, possible but may be expensive.
Morata - Non-starter I'm afraid, the fee being quoted for him is too excessive.
Muniain - Good player, more of a winger or Attacking Midfield. Will also cost a lot due to Bilbao's "Basque-Only" transfer policy.
Volland - Would love this guy, potential for a cut price deal if Hoffenheim go down.
Firmino - My No.1 summer target. Superb player, similar circumstances as Volland.
Ings - Worth a punt, will no doubt be over-priced though.
Ruben Castro - Decent, but too old.
Seferovic - Heard the name, but not seen enough to make judgement.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Firmino is certainly not an option.}

I'm curious to find out what everyone's team of the season has been this year. Here's mine anyway:

Cech
Coleman
Kompany
Koscielny
Aspilicueta
Nasri
Yaya Toure
Fernandinho
Hazard
Sturridge
Suarez

Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cech
Coleman
Kompany
Terry
Shaw
Gerrard
Yaya
Clevs
Hazard
Suarez
Sturridge

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - how did i know you would throw clevs in there mike? :)

29 Mar 2014 12:10:33
Mignolet, coleman, koscielny, distin, azpilicueta, toure, barry, sturridge, hazard, suarez, aguero

Agree0 Disagree0

Clevs is the metronome in the team. His 5 yard passes backwards and sideways are a thing of beauty.

I watched him against City and he had David Silva in his back pocket for the first 36 seconds.

He then went to right wing and Clichy started laughing his head off. I think he was just trying to hide the fear though.

Even when he was going to be subbed, Pellegrini was begging him to stay on. I think it was because he was enjoying the quality of Clevs play. As we all were.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mignolet
Coleman
Kompany
Distin
Baines
Oscar
Yaya
Gerrard
Silva
Negrado
Suarez

Roberto Martinez

Agree0 Disagree0

So we're all in agreement that Seamus has been our player of the season to date based upon these teams of the season. There's no way he should be allowed to leave in the summer whoever comes in for him, which they will. The days when we had to lose someone each transfer window are over. Resist at all costs approaches because he's under contract and can push this club forwards. I see him winning a medal at Everton rather than UTD but wait for Moyes to start his derisory approaches in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cech
Coleman
Kompany
Lovren
Shaw
Gerard
Yaya
Lallana
Suarez
Sturridge
Hazard

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha Lovren scores a few goals and all of a sudden everyone's raving. Koscielny, Mertesacker, Terry, Cahill along with our own centre backs all had better seasons. Watched him get brushed aside by Soldado only a week ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Lovren scored a few goals?, up to Christmas southampton had the best defence until there cbs started getting injured, mertsacker and terry haha both pensioners and cahill is average, distin was my other choice anyway why pick holes in my prediction nothing to say about anyone elses you joke

Just a general question to all supporters out there.

As we know we are going to need a striker or 2 for next season, would anyone be happy with Demba Ba? not sure about his availability/price/wages bit seems to do well when he does play for Chelsea, did the business for Newcastle.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Mar 2014 12:13:16
Im not too keen mate, plays when he feels like it, bit like adebayor, without the excitment adebayor brings other than scoring goals, better options out there

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he'll go back to Newcastle and he's not good enough for us.

Anyone ever thought that the reason we've had little to no money in the transfer markets for God knows how long is because we're saving for a bigger project? Just a thought and a few posters might poke holes in this but what if every transfer window the board has been putting £5-£15m aside to save up for a new stadium, or perhaps stock pile for a big transfer market. This idea may sound completely stupid as I've often thought that the club would have to declare this money when they release their financial figures every year, but is this the case? Could any of you economists shed some light on this for me?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's a nice thought mate but I seriously doubt it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wishful thinking but unless we're sending it to a South American bank so our current loaners who we are 40mil in debt to don't know I highly doubt it, we run on a loss that's not disputed the finances these days are in the public domain

What I would love to see if we qualified for the champions league

Ins:
Lukaku
Bony
Del boy(loan)
Torres(loan)- seems mad and I might get knocked for this one, but I can see Chelsea wanting two new strikers maybe keeping Eto'o on but they might not be too quick to sell on, so may want to evaluate whether to keep him or sell him over the course of next season. With Mourinho and RM, it wouldn't surprise me too much. (plus this is my ideal transfer list, not necessarily realistic) I'd play him out wide in a front 3, he looks good when he plays down the sides.

Barry(free)
M'vila
Rodwell(if on a knock-down price)
Colback(free)
Lescott(free)
Micha Richards loan
Smeichal (free, also horrific spelling)
A 3rd GK or could just use Springthorpe in an emergency

Out:
The same kids out on loan(unless any can break into the squad)
Vellios-loan or sell
Geuye-sell
Robles-out on loan to a premier league team for the season.

I'd keep Duffy for cover.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't think we would need McCarthy, Barry, Gibson, Roswell, mvilla and colback all for cm, we would have gone from being short to overloaded there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Too many players being brought in we just need 5-6 more players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Id go for
martins indi
batshuayi
will hughes
barry
bony
and a good AMC cover for barkley

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of the players we are talking about here are too expensive. I say, more realistically:

Colback (Free)
Barry (Free)
Tom Ince (Free)
Curtis Davies (£3m)
Lukaku OR Bony (£15-20m)

Add a couple of loans to that and I'd be pretty happy

Agree0 Disagree0

Curtis Davies at 3 million? That would be a bargain but I can't see Bruce selling for anything less than 10 million mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is every chance of a player from Chelsea on loan but it won't be Torres. If Everton do want Lukaku it will have to be for Ross B.}

Tommy that's the more realistic by far, with maybe the usual loans thrown in the mix, I would also think that if by a tiny miracle we get 4th we would maybe buy better

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 - I recall you mentioning back last year about a loan player from Chelsea possibly coming to us. Is it likely to be Oriol Romeu? Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No, it won't be Romeu. It is likely that Romeu will be sold in the summer if he can stay clear of injury. He has recently returned to Valencia who would like to keep him - and will be able to do so if they can get the new ownership situation resolved.}

Davieboy Blue, i'll admit my valuation of Davies was a shot in the dark, I realistically see him as between £3m and £6m, but just threw the lower figure in. He's a good player but wouldn't pay £10m for him.

I believe that the main thing is to buy players who have proven themselves at Premier League level, with the exception of Ince, who is a low risk gamble, as we would easily recoup the compensation fee given his age.

Hi lads, had a few too many again tonight, saw some sarcastic posts about cleverley being good, obviously sarcastic, I laughed, I cried, actually I cried first when I didn't catch they were sarcasric and laughed at what a flamingo i'd been, anyhow who do people think has been the best signing in the prem this season and the biggest flop, i'd go negredo or lovren for the best and soldado or lamela for flop

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Mar 2014 10:19:23
Swan this is too easy buddy, I think everyone may agree with me, as follows:

Best signing - Sir Bobby Martinez the great
Worst signing - Do I need to really say it, ask the Mancs

Agree0 Disagree0

Barry or Negredo for best
Lamela of fuzz top for worst

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilfred Bony - Best (we should of bought him)

Soldado - Worst (too much money for a striker that only seems to score from the penalty spot!)
