This saturday we need to play distin he will be able to deal with delaps long throw ins and jags will be able to take care of crouch, we need to play billy because if you notived at bolton baines was more confident going forward and we had more of a sting to our attacks. Get coleman running at there defence taking on players and making crosses get saha to keep shooting low in the corners because i have been watching some videos on sorenson the stoke keeper and he seems to lack in diving for low shots get some crosses in for timmy and im pretty sure we will have em!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Jags be able to deal with crouch? you mean a 5'11 person dealing with a 6'7 person? cool story bro

As I said earlier on a reply post..I really like billy but he is just lacking in confidence I think.I know I'm 1 of the few that like him.just think he has the attributes to be a really really good player..great left peg and goal scoring ability.just my opinion..nice little article off moyes here.

www.clubcall.com/everton/moyes-throws-down-the-gauntlet-1344952.html

Westy {Ed025's Note - he has had enough chances for me...good game last week, but his negatives vastly outweigh the positives..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

In terms of technical ability he is leagues ahead of anyone else in our squad. The issue is the pace of the premiership, games bypass him. If he ever got up to speed he would be our best player. I remember one of his 1st games for us in the Europa League, his passing was immense, so direct and cut throat. He has an eye for goal and can take on a man. Its a real shame it has not worked and i dont see it as a Moyes transfer fail because ability wise 9 mill is nothing for him. Watch him get bought by a mid to top table Italian team and watch him tear that league to pieces.

Would like to see us go in for Odemwingie in Jan hes quick and knows were the goal is what you think Ed do u think he would be a good addition to the squad? {Ed025's Note - i was asking for him pre season, i think he has bags of potential, by no means the finished article but a good investment at a reasonable price!..

Believable0 Unbelievable2

He's about 29 aint he? When will he be the finished article? {Ed001's Note - I think you have hit the nail on the head there, no one realises just how old he is when they think of him.}

I'd love to get Anelka, but alas his wages would probably be comical

Believable2 Unbelievable2

One thing is for certain is that a striker is needed, defoe and donovan on loan would be great and maybe take a chance on someone like maynard, who i think is a quality player.

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - that would be great bez!..but i doubt arry would let us have defoe...just in case we pose a threat to a european spot..

Agree2 Disagree0

Harry's a saggy b**ch. And on the Anelka thing, a week or so ago, Saha tweeted Anelka saying he is very sorry to see that he will be leaving the blues, he then went on to drop a hint and say: "but you know, Everton play in blkue too ;)"
Probably doesnt mean much, his wages would be sky high too.

Bily played well on saturday i think moyes will start him again at the weekend! If drenthe is fit then we will need his pace! Maybe swap drenthe for osman in the middle, there about the same size so were not losing any height plus i think drenthe is stonger than osman and a hell of alot quicker.
Howard
Hibbert jags heits baines
Coleman felli drenthe bily
Cahill
Saha/vellious or denis

Its the same formation as normal but gives us pace in the middle, felli will protect the back four and drenthe can join the attack! Stoke are a big strong team but lack real quality providing we keep the ball down and play to feet we should win! Cahill is a must for this game he will challenge for everything against the big players he will win his fair share of headers aswell, also vellious or denis should start i think stoke will be too phyiscal for saha, bily and drenthe could swap if things are not working!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know I'm probably going to get slated for this haha..but why the hell do I like billy..think he could be quality.just lacking in confidance I think.there is no doubt he can shoot.got 1 hell of a left peg on him..just wish he put all his heart in the game..

Agree1 Disagree0

Good shout. Because Bily had a good game on Saturday he's got to play against Stoke to maintain that boost in confidence. I'm not his biggest fan but I reluctantly think now is the perfect time to start him.
Not sure how long Distin is out for but we could do with his strength and height for Stokes long throws and set pieces. Heitinga just doesn't cut it for me sadly.
Playing to feet is a must too mate... If we start with this long ball business against them we'll regret it. Keeping a cool head and picking the pass is key.

Bily does have a cracking left peg but his head seems to be elsewhere most of the time. I think all blues are gutted about him really. You never know pal, hat-trick at the weekend? Ha! I hope he surprises us all!

Wizard of Osman

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah if he scores a hat-trick we will all sing his praises and have lots of hope for him..be like a new signing, but we will see..

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesn't get stuck into tackles does he - and gets the ball robbed off him like taking a sweet from baby

but yeah - scores 4 goals a season - and assists another 4 - unfortunatle loses the ball 632 times in an average season

Agree0 Disagree1

Moyes will start Billy because that's what he does, if you have a good game, you start the next. I'd like to start Vellios up front (would start Straq but Moyes won't do that, he looked very annoyed on the bench at Bolton, probably sick of sitting on it). I love Osman, but he's just far too slow. He always gets the ball, runs forward to start something and is then engulfed from behind

Does anyone know if an agreement is in place ie, an option to sign Drenthe at the end of the lone deal. thgfest

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I believe his contract is up next year so he will be a free agent. The problem is that other teams can come in for him too (and probably will). Lets just hope he falls in love with Everton and wants to stay.

Talking with a mate I used to go to college with after the game at the weekend. He now has his own PR consultancy/media firm (really just himself but it sounds better when you say it). Anyway he has heard through his work contacts that due diligence on a takeover is about 4 weeks away with one of the two I stress two interested parties, he didn’t know any real details of who the interested parties were but reckoned that negotiations were coming to a conclusion. Take this with however large a pinch of salt you want but he is a mate and appeared genuine in what he was saying.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

We will know in a month or so then! Hope your mate is right!

My Predictions For This Weekend:

Newcastle 1 - 2 Chelsea
QPR 2 - 1 WBA
Tottenham 3 - 0 Bolton
Blackburn 1 - 1 Swansea
Everton 4 - 1 Stoke
Man City 5 - 0 Norwich
Fulham 1 - Liverpool 2
Wigan 2 - 2 Arsenal
Wolves 2 - 1 Sunderland
Aston Villa 1 - 3 Man Utd

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Sorry lad, can't see us winning 4-1. I think it will be closer because Stoke aren't the easiest team to play against. Maybe 2-1 or 2-0 to us but can't see us scoring 4 or 3.

I see the two officials who cocked up the Newcastle pen decision against Utd are to be dropped from the prem at the weekend but Martin Atkinson received no such retribution after his Rodwell howler. Once again the FA kneel at the feet of Fergie. Disgraceful. (Wavertree Blue)

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Did we really expect anything else? Pathetic isn't it?

Agree1 Disagree0

And was aloud to Ref the Reds#### v City at the weekend once again giving them everything.Didnt here Ming Kenny moaning about that PADDOCKBLUE

Agree1 Disagree0

The way the FA deal with the "big" teams compared to teams like (ok, technically there's no team like us) Everton is almost as bad as racism - and they deal with that alright don't they?
