Ed, not really sure where to ask this sorry.

I'm not sure whether it's true or not but heard man city are putting a buyback clause into the iheanacho deal. I know this is something the big Spanish clubs like to do but iv not really heard of it happening over here. Are you aware of any clubs who do this? Or do you think this might become more popular going forward?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - its becoming more popular here lately cropper mate..

03 Aug 2017 10:28:07
I think I seen Ed002 say Chelsea have been doing it regularly for a while now. Thank god it was after we got Lukaku. As bad as Martinez was at least he left a whopper of a money deal for Lukaku behind him. Has helped us to strengthen the squad this summer.

Well it looks like we still have fans stuck in a negative mindset. I'd understand if we didn't have new investment, new sponsorship, promise of one of the most exciting stadiums in the world, 11 new signings, more signings to come, Europe and finally a realistic chance of winning a trophies.

Every time I think about how much we've changed as a club over the last 18 months I can't get the grin off my face. Yet some have this unrealistic expectation that we should be shopping for Neymars and beating everyone 10 nil.

Express an opinion but try and take into consideration where we have come from and take the positive of where the club want to get to. They are trying everything they can.

That's one game Glennk. Even the mighty Barcelona can't win them all. I couldn't be more positive about everything to do with Everton. Top post BlueJohnUns.

I fully expect us to put the game to bed in the first half tonight.

It was our first competitive match last week with new players to integrate so Koeman will be starting to formulate his starting XI and there's now competition for most places which the players will know. You only have to look at how he treated Ross last season to see that he's not scared to drop people or call them out if they're not performing which will get the best out of most players.

Can only think that the people being negative are either new to the Club or don't understand what progress looks like. QPR tried to buy a whole new team in one window and look what happened to them.

Why am I reading that we and Utd been given a 2 week deadline for Leander Dedoncker from Anderlecht who are pricing the 22 year old at 25/ 30 million. If this is the case why are we messing around. Don't haggle just pay the 30 Million and you have just bought an absolute mustard midfielder. People talk about making a statement of intent. Signing him would be that. If Everton stopped working on the Sigurdsson deal to get this through. I really would cream my pants.

If the Everton gods are looking down. I beg you to make this happen.

Looking like the £450m package for Neymar from the world's best team is getting done quicker than us signing a player from Swansea lol.

As a Liverpool fan I agree, when have Everton ever spent such money? Even if it has been recouped from lukaku s sale any other year that would have just been pocketed. I still think Everton are a step behind the other top 5 (don't shoot just my opinion) but it's not by far, the window is still open and that gap could be made up with the right signings. It's good to see the Liverpool teams finally both looking good with bright futures, I don't think lukaku will be missed and I don't think he'll push united much further but again just my opinion. Quit being so negative and be ready for this season, ou have an awful start so if wins are coming instantly don't start slating a system which is finally working your way, good manager, willing owner, you will only get better, who knows in two/ three seasons time is two battling for top spot ;)

Neymar can agree a £198 million transfer in wot, less than a day, yet we struggle to get a £50 Mill deal done, because we haggle, we want the player, pay the price or back off and leave it, still need a striker and centre back yet, COYB.

A new contract for Jags and a rumoured new contract for Barry--what a joke--we are supposed to be moving forward--this is a giant backward step--just blocks the pathway for the younger players to come through--

Jags and Barry are not the future--get rid now--.

Agree3 Disagree9

02 Aug 2017 19:18:03
Both jags and barry still have plenty to offer our squad. Granted they may not be starters week in week out. However both have plenty of experience to pass onto the youngsters who will no doubt be given opportunities even if its only in a cup run.

Hey wirralblueboy did you used to post under the name ---fox--- on this site?
He was really negative as well and used lots of hyphens in his posts.
I think it makes sense to give both Gaz Baz and Jags short extensions to their contracts.
Both have very valuable experience and would get snapped up in an instant by lower half of the table teams.
Their presence in the dressing room and on the training ground is invaluable.

I could understand people throwing their toys out their pram if we went and signed players of that age but to merely extend their contracts to keep experience is a good move the younger players need people to learn from and the older pros offer a wealth of knowledge to the younger squad members.
Could eventually make great future coaches as well.

At the start of the transfer window EFC shot out the gates and purchased players at will knowing full well that they were going to recuperate the money from Lukaku sale - no haggling just paying what clubs wanted.
Now it seems players are still wanted but the haggling has started which would suggest to me that yes there is money to spend but not what some fans believe there is - I would hate to imagine if Lukaku didn't want to go - who would we actually have bought!
To be honest from the couple of preseason games I have seen I see no real progress:
We bought a keeper from a relegated club - klassen is too light weight for the premier league - we bought some player who cannot get a work permit - keane is the same as stones - ramirez is the only bright spot but saying that we were not his first choice club - a player on a free whose club seen nothing in him and finally Rooney who is here purely for marketing purposes.
Compare this to other top 6 clubs who are finally spending and they are buying quality players at top prices - something we need to learn from.

Your a ray of sunshine this morning aren't you Intel, I for one am looking forward to this season and looking at the transfers we've gotten in so far I think we are stronger Pickford future England number1 great shot stopper and amazing distribution, Klassen needs time to find his feet but what he lacks in being lightweight he will make up for with technique, Sandro nothing much to say think he shows it on the pitch, have to agree with Martina why? And Rooney yes we will sell shirts and build our profile up having him which isn't a bad thing but he has something to prove to a lot of people including himself and I'm glad he's doing it at Everton.3 more players to fit into RK's plans and we will have a strong squad to cope with 3 trophies and the league.

First point to note is we are not top 6, also Spurs have spent nothing.

What Klassen have you been watching, must be a different one than me as he looked lively last week, give the lad a chance will ye

I was going to type more info about the players we have bought but can't be arsed wasting my time on you, you need to change your name too as clearly have no Intel whatsoever, everyone is allowed to put their point forward but yours is just negative drivel, I will pass your future posts by from now on as waste of my energy.

ha ha just read your previous posts, you need Prozac mate, you have one stating "not convinced about this new stadium lark" then there's another "not convinced with RK", are you a Blue or Koppite just trying to cause trouble.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 13:43:22
Give your head a wobble lad. Don't even know where to start here.

Firstly, half of the players have only played one full game (everyone gets a run out in friendlies) .

Secondly, you can't really comment on how good players are until they have settled in. Give them a chance! And as regards signings arguably our best player last season was signed from a relegated team.

As regards money, the eds are right, don't worry about it. At the end of the day Everton are a business. even to a rich football club £5m is a lot of money. If you were the chairman then we would go the way of Leeds Utd throwing the odd £5m away willy nilly. Put it this way, if you went to a market on holiday and you had £100, saw a watch in a market for £50, but you knew you could get it for £45 wouldn't you haggle a bit? The same principles apply here but on a far larger scale.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 13:57:08
Everton have made strides but the teams above us have made bigger ones. What happens in the next 3 weeks of window will determine our season. Pace out wide and a top class striker are most important.

The reason we bought players eat is because they had a release clause, we met them and got the player, gilfi at one point was valued at 25 million, then Swansea changed it to 50 million to ward suitors off, this is why we are haggling, as for the rest of the rubbish you have written INTEL you obviously no nothing about football, I mean wear did half the Chelsea players come from, other leagues and seem to be doing very well, we have klaasson who scored 20 goals from midfield seem pretty good to me, kean is a fantastic young defender, pickford england number one, and it goes on, if you have nothing better to do but be negative go support the other side.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 08:09:21
I've said for the last 3 seasons Barkley just isn't progressing and he needs to go. I'm not going to retract what I said. But I'm just wondering am I actually missing something if the top 6 clubs are interested if the reports are true. I've always said he's stupid not taking Koemans offer he'll never get in a club higher positioned than us. Yet here we are with all of them circling.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he is english mowfee and will interest the bigger clubs who dont mind shelling out for someone to sit on their bench mate..

02 Aug 2017 09:17:07
To be fair to the lad, he has probably come to the conclusion that he is going to be sat on the bench at Everton so why not sit on a bench for a champions league team.

Agree3 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 01:39:00
Dowell going on loan to Forest will be good for the lad I believe. It's unlikely he would have got much playing time given the midfield we have at the moment. So getting regular game time should serve him well. Still think he is one for the future, so will follow his progress with interest.
Really hope it works for him.
