Just saw that the squad of 25 has been announced for the rest of the season.
Don't actually realise that we have a very good squad despite people saying its small and not great, i think we have good options everywhere.
Howard

Hibbert
Neville
Jagielka
Distin
Heitinga
Duffy
Baines
Coleman
Osman
Fellaini
Gibson
Rodwell
Drenthe
Pienaar

Mcfadden
Anichebe
Straqualersui
Vellios
Jelavic
Baxter {Ed025's Note - looks good to me..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Given that we don't have a pot to pxss in it is starting to look like a really good squad. Can't believe what a difference a week makes, I was suicidal before the Fulham game. Let's fill the DW on Saturday and roar another three points. COYFB!! (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Cahill ??

Kurajan

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, sorry Cahill !! I meant to write Cahill instead of Baxter think i was tired by the time i got to the end ! Baxter doesn't need to be registered as he going back on loan i heard

Hiya ed025 ! Were have you been fella ! What did you make of the City and Fulham games, first time ive saw this season a bit of passion, desire and commitment, i think the players knew Pienaar and Jelavic were coming in and no matter what footballers say, new players lifts the mood and atmosphere, you could see from last week that Moyes mood had changed dramatically, he was smiling and joking in press conferences for4 the first time this season and Pienaar revealed today that he spoke to Phil Neville last Tuesday about coming back.
Wasn't a suprise that the players had a change of attitude against Fulham and City.
Hopefully we can kick on and get back in the top 8 or 7 and snatch a europa spot and build again next season.
Whats your views for the rest of the season and are you happy with the new signings (Gibson, Jelavic and Pienaar )
I remember you saying ages ago you have always been a fan of Jelavic
ToffeeManSte {Ed025's Note - the mood in the camp...and the fans for that matter, is great ste, when we signed gibbo, it gave everyone a lift, and that really showed in the fulham game....when we knew we had signed the jelly man and peanuts...it gave the lot of us more belief!..and we showed that on our day we are as good as any team in the league by beating the league leaders!, moyes looked like dog with 2 d***s, and the fans were out of this world, at the moment everything in the garden is rosy...my only negative, is that if we had done these sort of deals at the start of the season...i believe we would be in the mix for a top 4 place, as i now think our squad is on a par with all but the 2 manchester teams, but hey...better late than never,,,COYB..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I agree ed, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal might have SOME better players ability wise but the squad and options as a whole is on a par with them and the likes of the other teams currently above us (Newcastle, Sunderland and Liverpool ) our squad is far better than Sunderland and Newcastle and not saying this because its liverpool but i think we even have the edge on Liverpool apart from strikers )
As you say if we did deals like this in the summer we could easily be up there around 4th or 5th especially how inconsistent Chelsea and Arsenal have been this season.
I would put Pienaar straight in for Drenthe on the left side, i know Drenthe can be exciting at times but he can also wind me up with his decisions and passing during games when he played the ball to Baines who crossed for the goal on tuesday i think it was the first correct decision he made all game haha, he's brillaint to watch sometimes though but i have to agree with Moyes even though people were slagging Moyes the other week, Drenthe is a better player from the bench for us, once he has learnt a bit at this level, i would like to see him on the right once Donovan goes.
Anyway, glad your back ed025, here's hoping for 3 points on saturday and more commitment and desire that we saw on friday and tuesday !

Isn't it funny that 72 hours ago, everyone hated BK. Suddenly, 2 signings and 3 points against the Champions-elect and Billy Liar turns back to Uncle Bill and the world is a better place. Will these 'supporters' be the same as the ones who slagged off Pienaar "the mercenary" (when Uncle Bill refused to match his contract with Arteta's) and who will be cheering him on every Saturday afternoon. Some of you really pee me off. I for one still want BK and the board out despite bringing back one of our best players of recent years. It does seem strange though that refusing to give in to his demands and allowing him to move at a fraction of his true value only 12 months ago, only to go cap in hand to Daniel Levy and beg him to release the player. It really doesn't make any sense to me. BlueTone {Ed025's Note - the thing is tone...all we have been asking for each window, is a small investment in the club, you can see by the gibbo signing, the way it lifted the team!...it was all we ever wanted, not massive buys...just progress..

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Ed, totally agree with you mate. For years I've been saying that. Imagine what DM could've achieved with maybe £10M every window? I was chatting to my Spuds mates and they agreed that had DM been given a tenth of what the ruddy faced, baggy eyed used car salesman gets to spend and we would be champions every year! It's the fickle fans on here that do my head in. Without money everyone hates BK. A bit of self generated cash and he's everyone's favourite chairman and can do no wrong. It stinks Ed and he needs to go

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think Gandalph is either BK or DM...did u notice not a word on the last day..to busy setting up the deals...and not been heard of since...
George {Ed025's Note - i ditched him george....he was dissing all the guys on here, and slagging the club off....and no one does that my page!!, the fact that he was a self confessed kopite, who revelled in duping the faithful, was the last straw..

I think we gave saha to spurs for free so when we buy pienar back we will get him for the same money we sold him to spurs for two or three million instead of six what spurs value him at what do you think also that would be good business fi
Or everton wish saha look but at us he looked like he was just picking up his wages every week and not really interested

Believable2 Unbelievable1

All the best Louis, hope you score sheds load of goals mate, always spent ages signing all the kids books on matchday and never missed anyone out. {Ed025's Note - i second that...as long as its not against us..

Agree0 Disagree0

Welcome back sicknote, I think I speak for us all you were missed fella

Degsy {Ed025's Note - cheers degsy..im almost back in the land of the living

Anyone else think lellyman looks like fellaini a bit

Believable2 Unbelievable2

And kanchelskis

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought he looked like Kanchelskis too! Now you've mentioned Fellaini.. you're right! Maybe Bill hasn't spent any money after all! He's just cut Fellaini's hair at half time for the Jelavic appearance then banged a wig on him for the second half and everyone's non the wiser. Wonder if they'll ever play in the same team? Interesting..... ;)

Wizard of Osman {Ed025's Note - a bit like jethro and jethrene..in the beverley hill billies...or is that too old wiz?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Not too old Ed... I believe Jethro was a cracking striker in his day though.

Wizard of Osman {Ed025's Note - imagine him and the jellyman up-front? ..

Agree0 Disagree0

Shame we don't have Saha anymore Ed. He could have sat on top of the team bus in his rocking chair.

Wizard of Osman {Ed025's Note - BK could be mr drysdale

Agree0 Disagree0

Best keep a lid on this stuff Ed.... If Bill reads this he will end up spending our summer transfer kitty on a Beverly Hillbillies/Everton musical in the West End......Shhhhhh.....

Wizard of Osman {Ed025's Note - full cast.. .. jed clampett........marouane fellaini . grandma..............louis saha , ellie may..............james mcfadden . jethro..................denis straqualursi . mr drysdale..........bill kenwright . miss hathaway......jenny seagrove

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I'd buy a season ticket for that Ed.

Funny how all the whinging about Moyes and Blue Bill has stopped. Like I said before.....wish for new Indian owners or Yanks and see what happened to other clubs to see what could happen to us. I still "believe" and want all you other doubters to try and remain calm. Blue Bill wants the best for us. He IS a supporter just like you and me! Believe in Blue ...its better than the dark side. COYB

Believable9 Unbelievable6

One result and a couple of new signings dont hide the fact that Moyes is a negative manager and we need new owners. Fair enough BK is a fan and wants the best for our club but the simple fact is HE CANT AFFORD TO RUN A TOP PREMIERSHIP CLUB

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a funny one isn't it - there are owners like at Manu and arsenal who expect to make a profit from their ownership - and then there's others like at chelsea and city who expect it to cost them money to take part in the premiership

Bill+mates seem to be bang in the middle in that they pay nothing in but also take nothing out - however they are sitting on a potentially massive gain when they come to sell - so they will make something like 100 million profit if they sell for 150 million - and that money goes out of the club into their back pockets.

Shouldn't our owners say that out of that potential 100 mil profit, that they'll spend 50 mill of it on some players for us and give us a crack at getting into the champions league?

That 100 mil profit is built on the back of the fans, managers and players - it hasn't been made by brilliant business decisions onthe part of the owners - that profit deserves to stay in the club.

the problem for us is that other owners of 'smaller clubs' like QPR / sunderland are prepared to put loads in to their clubs so we will fall behind eventually relative to them if we stick with Bill Notapenny

Everyone is feeling good at the moment - cos of the signings and the couple of wins and much better performances - but it could easily revert back to bolton/blackburn performances if the team slackens off again and stops closing down etc

however this team does seem to be taking shape and looks a bit handier than before the window

for me we need to start looking at a class replacement for the off-striker role as cahill comes to the end of his blue days - is barkely the man for that role?

There's also a lot of expectation now on Jelavic - what if he struggles and we're back to hardly any goals again? - then the grumbles will re-start

it's looking a lot better than a couple of weeks ago though, when it looked like we might go down :)

Clozem Downe

Agree0 Disagree0

It was going well until you had a go at Cahill, probably been our best player this last month

It has been confirmed that Steven
Pienaar will wear the number 22
shirt during his loan spell at Everton,
however Nikica Jelavic's kit number
is T/A (To be announced). You'll find
out his number on Saturday when
we go to the DW Stadium to play
Wigan.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Jelavic = 7

Just look on the EFC website. It's all there!
