Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

I suppose Lennon is better than nothing. But in my opinion, he is another typical RM signing in the mould of McGeady. Scores 1 goal every 10 games. Goes past 2 or 3 defenders then balloons a cross into the stands. I admit he did improve his final ball last season and looked a bit better, but why has he been rotting in Spurs reserves if he is that good. It seems to me that Lukaku, McCarthy and Besic have been good signings, but the rest since RM's appointment have been poor. Not a single improvement on the squad. Gone are the days where we would bring in real gems like Stones, Mirallas, Coleman, Baines etc.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No pleasin some ppl

Agree0 Disagree0

I am definitely not a fan of Mcgeady but the transfer was arranged well before Roberto arrived even if it took place after. Maybe he could have blocked it but: a)He would not have known too much about him and b) He would have taken advice of the scouts and c)I think promises were made at the time to take him. Just my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Damned if we do and damned if we don't

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcgeady transfer was not arranged before martinez. martinez tried to buy him for wigan the january before, of course he knew him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm reasonably pleased with Lennon but I am also wondering if BK has put limits on RM spending because he is thinking if there isn't a good run soon there may be a change at the top.

Agree0 Disagree0

So Degsy not a great fan of Lennon then. If Lennon was playing for spurs regularly he would not have come to us so that's a mute point. As for RM signings then IMO he has strengthen the squad spending the funds available reasonably well. We not in the position to throw vast sums of cash to players ala RS Spuds QPR and a few others so have to cut our cloth accordingly. Every manager makes mistakes in the market but if you look at the cash spent on each of the players with the exception of Kone, McGeady who haven't really lived upto their price tags and Eto'o don't know what happened there? I don't think he done such a bad job as most seem to think. I hope Lennons signing will be just what we need as Barry and Lukaku were last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2015 12:54:38
'Gone are the days' so moyes' days then? Lalala

Agree0 Disagree0

Degs besic McCarthy two great signings lukaku is another great signing will prove his worth Robles looks like he might prove everyone wrong he could b good signing very young Kone not had a chance yet so won't judge Barry great player with so much experience great to have in squad Alcarez mcgeady Lennon have all cost pretty much nothin anyway so not all that bad IMO wot our club needs now is for people like yourself and others to start supporting the team especially the fans at games who are booing every touch of the ball in your case moyes is gone get over it :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Cobyone, I do support the team. Sometimes it is quiet all around me an I am singing on my own. I I've in Devon but have been to a few games this season. Most noticeably Lille home and away and ill be going to Young Boys away. I only moan on here and to my missus. It drives her nuts. but she and my son are both blue now. If people don't come on with negative comments, then there won't be any banter. and it is a banter site. Ask Swan! COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

Or in Degsys case a Leon Osman tribute page, featuring all his best assists and stats haha

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - love it gray..

02 Feb 2015 22:51:20
As much as I love Tim Cahill I think it's time we
Moved on. We don't need another ageing footballer
That's coming to the end of there career.

02 Feb 2015 22:37:34
Lennon done deal. Hope he takes his chance and puts pressure on others; it's a win win deal for both parties and has premier league experience; so should hit the ground running and I hope fast with decent passing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 22:16:37
anyone heard anythink about distan and reid?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 22:00:47
Distan out . Ried/kabull/chorluka/chriches in would be nice

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 21:11:36
I said weeks ago that I think Lennon would be a good signing I might eat my words but I think he will hit the ground running get us going forward faster and get the crowd off there seats some people need a reality check who do they expect us to sign?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree I like him he got pace and dribbles the ball good and good news for ed mcgeady be on bench now

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - that would mean he could still get on the pitch bretto.. :(

Two wide men with pace are we actually going to play to Roms strengths? We looked a much better shape against Palace. Lennon would provide width and pace plus McGeady would have to up his game actually trying to beat players and put decent crosses in the box. This could be just what we need. Assuming it all happens which is a big if based on our usual form during the deadline day shinanigans

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh true a least he may not start

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 20:45:49
I hope Bobby knows what he is doing on the Distin front. Granted he hasn't been the best this season, but the last thing we need at the moment is to get rid of one of our best centre halfs. Surely he would have a replacement sorted before letting him go?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed IMO letting Sylvan go now would be a mistake.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 20:41:14
Great news for Everton, although he is not at Finch Farm yet? If we keep Mirrallas it will be a bonus! Two great wingers in the team to put in plenty of crosses into the box, I hope! Give credit where it is due to RM & BK. Good boost for the squad and the fans.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 20:35:12
Lennon in, keep Kev, Pienaar to Sociadad, Atsu back

Reid for Distin plus fee

Cahill Return.

Why the heck do we wait till the Deadline Day?????

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - for the excitement..

02 Feb 2015 20:48:28

I can't take it! Me heart palpitations are kicking in!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - calm down QB...winnie parks and the yak are not coming mate.. :)

03 Feb 2015 00:07:49
Haha, I'm still recovering from the lack of Riquelme posts :)

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 20:32:37
Lennon instead of mcgeady all day long for me, I hope its not in place of Mirallas though

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 20:29:05
This must be the the only deadline day when I expected no business. so I did not buy my usual 6 stellas; sit down and hope for that 1 special transfer To happen.

shall I buy them? Or drink some turps to drown my depression that we are in a relegation battle this season with no mid season lift.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - have a nice cup of tea mate..

I will have 2 sugars in stead of the usual none; cheers ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good man zulu..

02 Feb 2015 20:22:18
I for one think Lennon is a good deal, I always liked him and he will be direct and fast something we lack he will pull defender's out wide leaving lukaku in the middle, I think rm thought mcgeady would do this but it's not happening for him ATM ATM!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 20:14:49
I'd be happy with mirallas staying (we are going to need him), Lennon on loan, Winston Reid for Distan swap and a cheeky striker would put a bit of faith back amongst the fans I think.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 19:51:59
Just like to put this out there, if Mirallas goes although I think he's a great player, good riddance, it seems he doesn't appreciate what we've given him here at everton! And I for one won't be applauding him when he comes back to goodison, seems like his attitude stinks! COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it seems a lot feel that way Cjt..

02 Feb 2015 18:24:40
This is just ludicrous and nonsensical behaviour by Roberto. I like Roberto but what is he thinking?! Eto'o, Ossie(out for season) Pienaar (out for a long time yet), Distin(West Ham Bound), all the baggage injured forever players, Alcaraz, Gibson, Hibbert, that's 7 down on the squad. Were into the most important part of the season, ya can't expect the youngsters to take over!!
If and I hope not but were struggling we need cool experienced heads to finish the season not headless chickens. Why he thinks the squad is big enough now is beyond me, when we have Europe to play aswell. Get a grip, we need some experienced numbers in.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im with you howie, it could be the most important time in the last 60 years though mate, not just this season..

There does not appear to be any humility in Martinez, the blokes belief in himself and his methods would be justified if he actually had the evidence to prove it. Not withstanding the Crystal Palace result, the next 3 games are absolutely crucial. I agree with the most important time in 60 years statement.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 18:04:29
My only complaint about today is not the fact that it's obvious that we are not signing anybody, it's the fact that the club could have made a statement to the fans earlier today and tell us definitively that nothing's going to happen. I know RM has said during the window that it's unlikely that we will be doing any business, but that could be that's he's playing his cards close to his chest, so it doesn't stop the fans from hoping that some signings will be made. So today, bk or rm should have just come out this morning and told the fans straight to prevent all this frustration and disappointment

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 17:52:48
Super Timmy Cahill had his contract terminated by mutual consent, is he coming back, would you have him? I would, no brainer, free, and loves us more than anybody in current squad, get him home

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 19:22:24
Yes! Absolutely yes. Even if it was just as an impact sub, his sheer presence around the training ground and dressing room would be immense. Just one more derby maybe?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 17:29:31
Well after my post about Tim cahill the other day. looks like he's a free agent. I'd have him back like a shot. anyone with me? even if it's only for 6 or 12 months

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeh in a heartbeat still has goals in him and if it were to happen think it would be a moral boost for players and fans which right now is what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

And for him to come off the bench on saturday and get the winner. if only)))

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 16:46:50
Desperately need some signings, even on loan, and keep our main players this window. Any news ed? I hope there is, or it'll be another waste of an evening waiting for potential deals

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i wish i could say yes IWJB, but i cant mate..

02 Feb 2015 16:37:43
Some negative posts on here, We aren't in a relegation battle. Stop moaning and get behind the team. We have had no money for years and always manage to punch above our weight. Hopefully we do get sold to some rich fat cat but until then. BK has the purse, move on.
5hrs to go something could still happen.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - with 3 of our next 4 being liverpool, chelsea and arsenal stan, we could well be in a relegation battle mate..

Anyone who thinks we aren't in a relegation fight is as deluded as Bobby

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree svenny..

If you read those posts you would see that everyone is behind the team. Being concerned and having an opinion opposite to sticking your head in the sand is not moaning, it is genuine concern.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 16:36:46
Blackett, 3 million, anyone rate this kid?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 16:13:14
Is it just coincedence that the two players who were rumoured to be disruptive in the dressing room, distan and eto'o, could both have left the club by 11 o clock tonight. I can understand why they would both be moved on if the rumours were true but for me its absoloutley insane not to bring in replacements given our track record of injuries this season, particulary at centre back.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 14:36:58
Just something to cheer us up on this dreary monday, following Sampdorias 5 - 1 defeat to Torino the Sampdoria manager called a double training session of which a Mr Eto'o refused to participate.
Maybe the all smiling happy go lucky chap is not the influence on the dressing room Bobby hoped he would be.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - just heard that svenny, i have to say it surprised me mate..

The thing is Ed someone of his stature would have a huge influence on the other players and if he was disgruntled or angry about playing time, a sly word here and there about the boss can spread like wildfire, well it would in my office anyway! So you just don't know what goes on behind closed doors but maybe he is a bit too big for his enormous boots

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - very possibly mate..

He was like that at anzi apparently

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 13:27:51
{Ed001's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Goal line technology is not always a good thing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The fact BK let him go on a free even though he was contracted probably tells you everything - just wanted rid of him ASAP. There has definitely been more fight in the team since he was excluded from the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 13:12:25
At the beginning of the season I thought that this Everton squad is one of the strongest we have had in years. I wonder be disappointed at all if we don't bring anybody in, I would rather see the Galloway's, Garbutt's given their opportunity instead of panic buying and getting ripped off

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i just think it would give the dressing room a lift revs, the galloways and garbutts can be fine players for the future, but this is still a relegation dog fight in my eyes and we need the experienced players to step up to the plate mate..

02 Feb 2015 13:27:19
I agree Revs, it is one of the strongest squads we've had in years; it's just that Bob Martin doesn't know how to use them properly.
It won't be long before a bad tradesman starts blaming his tools (no pun intended)

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 12:52:37
Lets face it, this is not deadline day for Bobby brown shoes, it is just a monday. Expect to see a couple of 1st teamers break down with hamstring injuries in training, a press conference highlighting how after beating Palace we are now in the key moment of our season to push on for top 4 and winning honours in cups we are not even in.
The Everton website will crash at 10.55pm making everyone think we signed someone big but it was just to update the merchandise page with sold out in all sizes of everything apart from XS and XXXXXXXXXL sizes, Kitbag aim to allow us fans to buy a shirt if we want sometime in 2016.
No business will be done we will finish 15th and lose Kev in the summer whilst also losing Distin, Alctrash, Osman and Pienaar from our squad and replace them with players from the vintage 2011/12 Wigan squad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - your so cynical svenny.. :)

02 Feb 2015 10:34:54
Hi Ed I don't know if its just me why wouldn't we look at a loan deal for Adebayor he's a proven premier league goal scorer and he's only 30 good replacement for Eto imo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think it is just you pablo mate, laziest man in football, and one of the highest paid...avoid at all costs.. :)

02 Feb 2015 12:14:24
seriously Pablo, I would rather have Jelavic back

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i would rather have the yak back murf..

02 Feb 2015 12:27:23
ha ha you have read about him too ed, apparently Reading bound, he must be getting on now mate

feed the Yak Reading, feed the Yak

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes still only 23 murf...at least thats what it says on one of his passports mate.. :)

02 Feb 2015 09:58:51
If levy wants us to take Lennon and 5m I say rip their hands off that 5m can go towards that gk we were after from molde at worst Lennon is a decent squad player its a winner for me

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Feb 2015 13:15:29
Think 5m is bit too low, with 18 months left on his current deal I think anything between 10-15m would be enough. But, since it is Levy and spurs, I'd do what he does and add another 20m on top!

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 13:17:11
Sorry Devon, didn't see the Lennon in exchange part. But I would rather take cash than having him in the deal

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2015 08:24:00
Ah well here we go again, Deadline Day! can't wait for the dodgy player sightings at JL airport, managers meeting agents at city centre hotels, shadowy figures behind tinted windowed Range Rovers and of course my brothers girlfriends aunty works at GP and heard . well in RM's press conference when asked about incomings he clearly said that if it was someone cheap and beautiful (his words) then you never know . mmm sounds like a Romanian Lap dancer to me!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - sounds good to me wakka..

02 Feb 2015 05:33:11
Not all doom and gloom, although this season has been pretty awful we are actually on a 5 game unbeaten run, unlucky at West Ham in the cup, decent draw against City,a hard earned win at Palace, not the easiest place to pick up points, the only down side was the home draw with WBA and the missed pen,we probably would have been happy with 4points from the last three league games but have gathered 5,just trying to be positive
