Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

Hi Ed I think its been 4 months since R K came in with Mr Moshiri and only recently Steve Walsh so not much time but I think they have now seen what needs to done at Everton, we are 7th in the table at the mo and with the investment on the pitch and new stadium coming we are in prime position to kick on up the table, i firmly believe we are going to be a lot stronger after this window with many comings as well as goings this is a great time to be a Blue, GuernseyBlue.

Im not letting myself get carried away. Must admit its hard tho. Do i think we will be stronger not just after this window but i expect us to be stronger after every window. The future is definately bright but i think it may take another year or 2 before we become serious top 4/ 6 potential.

I think we are grinding out results and certainly playing more like a "team". Lukaku seems to have finally got the message that his responsibilities are more than just sticking the ball in the net. Valencia seems to give him support and although Valencia is not the worlds greatest footballer, I liken him to Marcus Bent for workrate. I am surprised Koeman does not start him every game. But I think we are way off top 6. At least 5 players away.

I like Valencia as well Degsy, he puts in a good shift as does Kev now. I think RK rotates as he doesn't think the front 4 wide players are fit enough yet. As for Rom I wouldn't be surprised if he is told not to bust a gut closing down all the time as he is the only CF we have that gets goals regularly he has to play 90 nearly every match.

Not too many posting about the win we had today. If we lost I'd say there would be 3 times more posts about it.

First 80mins were hard to watch but the last 13 were brilliant obviously. Funny when Valencia came on the game completely changed.

Imho Barkley was thoroughly deserved motm. He was right on the button. From the start he was playing ball and not over thinking things. Davies handled himself very well and looked a true professional. A mention also for Mori thought he was solid. I thought those 3 in particular were the best.

Lennon was the only one I thought was not in the game but at the same time he helped out in defense regularly.

Good win. Onwards and upwards. Well done to all involved.

Hi NBTB my sentiments exactly, fantastic win, new lad was great and so to was Ross, i really would keep him and with a few new recruits in the window we would be buzzing good to get 7 points from 9 over the Christmas period with games coming thick and fast great result, good post mate GuernseyBlue.

Agree1 Disagree3

02 Jan 2017 20:07:56
I like the look of that lad Davies, agree on Mori, at times his timing and reaction have been lacking rather curious for an Argentinian International. Yes Ross was in the game, think sometimes some of the critics don't understand Koemans comments on him, hence rumours of swap deals or being sold, when he is going nowhere.

02 Jan 2017 20:31:36
Isn't it funny how we are talking about winning a game in the last 10 minutes when the same players last season were only ever losing games in the last 10 minutes.

I wasn't at any stage nervous that we would lose today once we had scored. So much better under Koeman.

03 Jan 2017 05:39:43
I agree with you NBTB. Think Lukaku also deserves a special mention. Despite his little tantrum about the penalty, his hold up play and distribution in the second half was probably some of the best I can remember seeing from him.

IMHO him and Barkley often need to carry the team and get a lot of stick when they can't do it week in and week out which is not really fair seeing as both of them are still only 23.

Some very good points in these posts. Barkley def man of the match. Davies looks composed. Valencia BIG contribution. I would add Mirallas and Baines both starting to look fitter again.

Yes CToffee I was in two minds whether to mention him or not. He did have a good game and his effort level has improved a lot this last while.

I think a good window would be :
IN
Lookman-add for squad depth maybe replace mirllas when he's ready
Berahino- replacing Geri
Scheniderlin replacing gueye for afcon then Barry at the end of the season
Depay-replacing bolaise
Dolberg-get him in now to bed I. And replace lukaku in the summer

OUT
cleverly
Gibson
Jagielka
Lennon
Geri looks on his way out.

Good list but still need a ball player. a banega/ mata type of player, as a priority as competition or back up for rosd.

What do they rest of you think? Thanks.

02 Jan 2017 19:01:27
Not sure I would let jags leave. Especially not without a top class replacement as that would leave us with 3 cbs including Holgate. Also he is our captain and has been a very good servant for us.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jan 2017 19:18:42
I've never liked jags alsways been shaky on the ball yeah he's good at last ditch tackles and blocks but he's only doing them because he's caused them to be last ditch due to his mistakes and pace I think Williams holgate mori and this smith from Ipswich would be enough. Forgot to include him. I think Robles isn't a good keeper far from it to but he gets clean sheets because do think he tell the back four where to be he's always talking to them something I've never seen steklwnburg do. Think we need a go in the summer Leno, timo horn, butland, Pickford Have we any intrest in them ed for the summer.

02 Jan 2017 19:55:07
Agree with some but would not want berahinho, Brahimi yes. As for playmaker, I know it's out there but let's bid £30 MIL for Payet, even though it's very unlikely, it sends a message out that we mean business. Most exciting times on and off the pitch for a while.
In Koeman, Walsh and Moshiri we trust.

Already been said Eddy, that it is very doubtful Man Utd will loan or sell us any of their players, Mourinho sees us as direct rivals, but money always talks loudest.

We already have a ball player in rossi barkley. When we get better quality around him he will show his worth trust me.

Hey

. ya know what. a progressive team selection today including Tom Davies n DCL and Funes instead of Jags. would rather have had Kev instead of Lennon but hey. gutted for DCL going off so early as he looked lively. ok the first half wasnt the best but the energy levels in terms of the midfield was so much better with Davies/ Gana combined. second half we were the better side. took the game to Soton and looked cohesive. Barkley was linking up well n showing confidence. Valencia n Mirallas made a difference. ok Soton had chances but can anyone deny we deserved to win by that margin. its not perfect but hey, we are getting there. COYB

Yes GuernseyBlue. I mentioned 10pts form last 5 games in the live chat. Only game we lost out of it I thought we should of got a draw.

Looks like a momentum is building. Let's hope it is sustainable and they keep improving. Imho they will. Future looks bright.

Hi Ed brilliant win today and I would take that all day, but 80mins in very poor game why does it take the team so long to get going, GuernseyBlue.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - They have been told to stress out the fans as much as possible GB - it is punishment for the poor behavior of the fans in the summer.}

Love it mate, GuernseyBlue.

It is professional football for God's sake. You cannot expect to roll Teams over, if you want that go watch Sunday Morning Park Football. It wasn't a poor game but what it was, was a tired game. No matter how fit you are it is impossible to play at this level on full intensity every couple of days. Now back to my pint. P. S. watching WH v MU, what a plonker that Mike Dean is.

Agree1 Disagree9

02 Jan 2017 19:25:46
That made me laugh Ed002. I agree GuernseyBlue the first 80mins were pretty bad. In fairness Koeman did rotate the squad a good bit over the last couple of games.

Tiredness should not of been much of an issue for us. Maybe for Lukaku, Gana, Coleman, Baines and Williams but not for the rest. They are the only ones I can think of that played every game over the festive period.

It was a tired game, Southampton had their chances but we were the better side. Some good stuff from the lad Davies. Would love us to revert to the system we had against Leicester (couldn't get to that one) , as we looked comfortable and playing wingbacks enables us to stop Teams getting out. A deserved win.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jan 2017 17:44:53
First 10 mins looked good until Calvert Lewin went off and reverted back to one up front. after that ross Berkley burdened with being only creative player. game lacked pace and quality until Valencia came on. I think the lad is playing for a move but to be fair he grinded out a few chances. making one goal, getting a pen, and them Baines tenacity sets up romelu. overall not great team performance but they grinded out the win.

02 Jan 2017 18:25:07
Not a poor game though Jcl. These column writers they see snatches or listen to fans in the bar afterwards and then label the game on hearsay. What it was, was exactly as you said and that brought about by tired legs. We don't have the quality in depth at the moment in order to give players a rest. That will soon change hopefully.

Koemans interviews definitely sound more like he is getting the team somewhere near where he wants them to be. Anyone else get the impression he is a lot happier now.

New Year and new sense of optimism for the year ahead.
I feel this calender year we will see are great club transform from a side that frustrates us and seperates us to a team we will all be proud of.
The infrastructure that is in place will see us release the players that do not fit our new model and bring in the players to take us onto the next level.

If for example we look at Tottenham, they have improved from being top 6-8 to now being considered challengers for Top 4 and maybe even title challengers.
We are maybe 2 full seasons not including this one away from being in this bracket.
Manchester City are a perfect example of having a superstar manager (allegedly) and superstar players, yet they do not function as a team.

This is why i don't want us signing players based on name alone if they are not going to function in our team.
The times they are a changing blues, but we need to be patient and support the players and management as each and everyone of them whether you feel are good enough or not, are doing a job in the rebuilding of our great club.
Lets not forget, we were born not manufactured.

Looks like witsel has gone to China. This is the same player who chose to go to Russia instead of coming to us (or picking out of a few other clubs) . Now he has apparently chosen China over Juventus and a few other clubs. I'm sure he has chosen that because of the better quality of football and not because he is now the 7th highest paid player. just saying.

Well the window is open i will be looking at this transfer window every minitue now till it ends hoping we get a few good quality players in depay and sneiderlin would be a good bit of buisiness if we don't take forever getting them done coyb.

Hi Ed. I think it's fine a pretty straight forward to understand maybe throw your predictions in for each game?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I am too superstitious to make predictions, that is why I haven't included any. I know it is silly but I can't help that I am ridiculously superstitious.}

02 Jan 2017 09:51:44
I like the layout of it Ed001 and read through it every time to find out who's injured or struggling to play.

{Ed001's Note - someone on the Man Utd site just suggested getting other editors to give their predictions instead. So I will try and do that from now on.}
