Happy retirement to one of my favourites growing up, Steven Pienaar! That partnership with Baines was a thing of beauty!

So. Because the question where will we finish has been asked a million times, I thought I would ask. How many points do you think we will finish on?
See my answer below and because I am bored, I have shown my working out too.

5 home games left, 2 of them against RS and city = 0 points.
Brighton, Newcastle, Southampton = 7 points.
5 away games = 3 points

Total = 44 points.

What are your predictions guys?

{Ed025's Note - 42 for me smit, my rationale is that when we are safe we will down tools mate..

02 Mar 2018 18:47:54
I will go in between and say 43 points fingers x, but hey I would like to ask who do you think will be in charge next season, i would love Enrique or Simeone but just don't know how far Mr Moshiri will push the boat out for our next manager.

He's got to protect his investment surely GB and think long term imo. It's a risk whatever he does. Stick with FS and stagnate? Get another makeweight in just to steady the ship for a season or two? Or get someone with a proven track record who is both willing and able to take us forward. It's a no-brainer for me regardless of the cost and either of those two would be a massive declaration of intent on his part.

Think you are right mate it seems it is now or never after what's happened with the previous managers, should be an interesting summer.

We will get 30 without a shadow of a doubt from the remaining games so total 64 πŸ‘Š Okay Okay 24 giving us total 58 with the only 2 loses against the 2 obvious teams MCFC and LFC πŸ‘ What?! Okay Okay Okay πŸ™„ Just trying to be positive and be a believer - I said Believer not Belieber - 😜 At the very least 10 giving us 44 like Smit666 says πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™.

I reckon.
Burnley away 1-1 as they have this thing called 'team spirit' that we have sort have heard of, but decided to not bother with.
Brighton home 2-0 because hopefully they'll be tired from the coach ride.
Stoke away 2-1 to them, through Shakiri and some bloke who's never scored before, because its us. Our goal from Niasse rebounding a header off a pigeon.
Citeh with cuco playing 0-1,000,000
Citeh with let's say. Robles at LB 0-1,000
The rubbish home 0-4 (but they still leave as a bunch of shaving gel touting mercenary pirates, so at least we have that)
Swansea away 1-1 if the Ayew brothers have a row over who used the last of the toothpaste (but if Swans don't beat West Ham I suspect they're done for)
Newcastle home 2-0 if Moshiri sidles over to Rafa at half time and asks "Do you know any good managers? "
Huddersfield away 2-2 if they overdose Niasse on red bull
Southampton home 2-0 if DCL gets away with a dive and Robles continues his stunning form as LB
West Ham away 0-3 because we simply can't allow Moyes to beat us. It just wouldn't be right.
So I'm going on a wing and a prayer for another 14 points. That doesn't sound realistic when I say it out loud, so probably more likely another 7 points. We are surely capable of one or even two wins and / or a win and four draws.

{Ed025's Note - love that OHEFB

Brilliant OHYFB. Yes Robles at left back is a great shout. I often wondered myself if we should get Big Dunc registered as a player again? Not as a center forward, but as a central midfielder. just behind Schneids. we could do without a center forward and just let him roam around behind Shneids kicking him up the arse when he was strolling around. Ok he might get sent off, but at least the entertainment value would be there!

Wow, that is pretty damning, even those who have backed and stood up for SA can't defend stats like that. Terrible.

When your manager says things like 'We were close to a result but Watford scored late on' (how dare they! ) you know it's time to put aside any benefit of doubt you tried to afford him when he was first appointed. This is the same guy who will probably set his stall out exactly the same against Burnley yet he expects a win to take us level with them. The man has some valid points about how long our away form has been bad, but if he thinks playing the way he wants is going to change that he's delusional. Roll on the Summer so hopefully we can put this Winter of discontent behind us.

First time I said this but he has to go. Comparing us to West Ham and Newcastle. Nothing wrong with these clubs. Its what he implied. Very disrespectful. Gave him all the backing I could and hoped it would work. Nothing but a win against Burnley and Brighton is acceptable. A proper showing against these is badly needed.

Allardyce has to Drop Cuco Martina for the Burnley game surely we could play any of our midfielder in this position and pose more attacking threat, Liverpool have done it with Milner and United with Young, Cuzco is not even a good defender he needs to be more ruthless in that position anyway he has failed in my opinion
We need to create a better balance in the team and I see this must be the first step.

baines back in the squad this weekend pal if not fit then we have garbutt on the bench no need for more square pegs in round holes.

We have too many square pegs when what we really need is lego, if we are to continue the children's toy metaphor. Garbutt hasn't been considered a peg of any description by 3 managers now, so I don't think we should get our hopes up about a LB saviour waiting in the wings. At best, he's ranked as an amorphous Everton blob, like playdough, along with Klassen, Sandro, Lookman, Vlasic and apparently Tosun.

I think there is only one or two left footers in the whole squad. That's half the problem. Attacking wise, Sigs tries his best on the left, but it is all too predictable. so we only have a right sided attack. The opposition only have to stop our right. the left is almost non existant. and thinking about it. without Coleman, the right is pretty poor too! How did we end up with this unbalanced squad? This goes back to Martinez and Koeman. I don't think the manager helps with his comments admittedly. but the squad is full of under achievers, kids who are like rabbits in headlights (but do try their hardest) and a load of right footers trying to play on the left. We lost too many quality players over the last 6 years and didn't replace them with good top quality ones in the right positions. How bad we would be if Rooney had not decided he wanted one lat go in the Blue shirt!
