Right am going to say it. Tom Cleverly had a decent game today. In fact no our midfield was so poor we made him look good. That was an awful performance from start to finish and as much as we want to play with 2 wide men both Lennon and Mirrallas come inside far too often and leave the fullbacks isolated. We need to find a balance in midfield in order to progress because today we were just out fought and outplayed in the centre.

Despite what we are led to believe by highly paid managers, tactics are fairly straightforward.
In assessing the opposition you identify the player(s) who will pose a threat and ensure your team setup will nullify the threat. Conversely, you identify the weak areas you can exploit and include the. Players who are best equipped to capitalise on those weaknesses within the opposition. Simple really but RM and his coaching staff, despite the benefits of the latest technolog, seem oblivious to the obvious!
Benteke has scored nine goals in the last eleven games so we give him the freedom of the penalty area to score two headers and Delph is the player who creates so we don't bother to try and restrict his influence - tactically the height of naivety

Last time I had time to kill in Liverpool I decided to go to a pub and some bloke tried to sell me some socks.

Why change a winning team. No midweek game. No need to tweak the team and the balance and lose the momentum.

Have been going to evrton for longer than I care to remember, but, in the first 1/2, that is the most pathetic display I have ever witnessed, the players and the management should be ashamed to draw their wages, in fact to retain any credability, they should anounce that they are all going to give this weeks pay to a local charity. Mr Kenwright should not only dispence with the services of Martinez, but consider his roll in the demise of this once great football club.

I feel the same, but don't see me going to any more matches. I'm also cancelling my BT and ssn packages. One consolation is for Newcastle fans with what they are having to put up with on and off the pitch, so it could be worse for us.

I blame Osman again. Oh yes. he wasn't playing this week. Strange coincidence again that. Especially after our winning streak.in which he was playing. and the 11 games without a win.when he was playing. But no doubt he will misplace a pass in his next game and have everyone on his back again.

Can we move the posters name to be above the post? That way it'll be easier for me to avoid reading DP's repetitive, boring drivel.

For the first time in over 50 years of supporting Everton, I've got to the point where I can't be bothered. I'd normally be angry or frustrated or depressed about losing, but what's the point? Whatever BK or RM or whoever at the club has as their strategic plan to make us successful, I can't see what it is and - more worryingly imho - I no longer believe that they can deliver it. They've cured me of my addiction to Everton, so I'll just say goodbye to the Eds and the other posters and crawl away - no self-pity, no dramatic exit, no cries for help, and no more "once a blue, always a blue". Good luck, everybody.

Don't do it Sid.
we are all addicts,& will b back next season.
I'm 60 years a blue, & like me, you know it's in our DNA.

Come on Sid, the season is bad enough without losing the common sense voice of reason you bring to the site as well. We are all fed up this season mate, but come on, it is part of being a blue. It's only a few short weeks ago we were talking about supporting the team if we went down.

No matter how dire it gets Sid, you can take a Blue out of Everton, but you will never take Everton out of a blue. No matter how wazzed off we get.

I remember a lot of years ago under Gordon Lee, walking down Priory Rd and throwing my scarf into Stanley Part along with hundreds of other fans after we had capitulated against Arsenal, saying "That's it I'm done with this lot." It lasted two matches, it's the masochist streak in all us blues!

{Ed025's Note - i agree wedge..i hope sid has a re-think mate..

So the light at the end of the tunnel was an oncoming train!
Martinez sounded terrified about the prospect of playing Villa prior to KO, pathetic.
As we were then gentlemen.
