Any thoughts of a Joey Barton transfer? {Ed025's Note - no way wezz..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

First of I think this is bullcrap, secondly I don`t think Martinez would put up with someone like him. Sailor

Agree0 Disagree0

Should be a goverment health warning against this man, he's a nut case.

TT

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes a good midfielder and would be ideal if tamed and motivated could be the general we let him go withbaines {Ed025's Note - too many skeletons in the barton cupboard for me, i hope the club are bigger than that..

If Man U activate Fellaini's 22.5 mil release clause we could get much better than paying 20 mil for McCarthy like medel for 6 mil and Honda maybe for 5-7 mil and Moses or mcgeady for 8 mil and 4.5 mil much better than spending it all on one player ed? {Ed025's Note - i think Mcarthy is well overpriced, and there is better value out there..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

McCarthy has potential but is not so good at winning then retaining possession. Felli is quality for that. Stats show him as the best in the Premiership. McCarthty is probably worth 5-6million. unless he inproves with age.

I get the feeling that RM rates McCarthy so highly that he is prepared to pay whatever it takes. Everton fans are going to have to hope that RM's judgement is right.

People need to let up on Fellaini. Everyone says 'he only plays when he wants' and he's 'disinterested'. He was terrible against Wigan and had 2 or 3 other games where he didn't quite look up to it, but in 85%+ games he was by far the hardest working player. He's had our highest distance covered stat for 2 consecutive season and you can usually see him sprinting back to help out the defence immediately after sprinting forward to attack. People have too short memories. {Ed025's Note - fair point AB..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

When he's was awful last season the whole team was Wigan being a prime example so it's unfair to just single out him. I think he will be even better next season in a box to box role under Martinez he'll be impossible to mark arriving late in the box to get on the end of crosses.

Agree0 Disagree0

I see your point AB but on his day he's virtually unplayable yet he only seems to do it when it suits him, against a 'bigger' club or when he's in the mood.
You can't deny he does look disinterested at times because he absolutely does. I'm not aware of the stats that he covers the most distance but stats, taken in isolation, are meaningless.
Maybe he does cover a lot of distance but he doesn't do much to affect the play when he's in a mood and he's never far from being wound up and sent off.
The bloke's a liability and we would do better getting £20m than having this wannabe big time Charlie at the club who thinks he's better than he actually is.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's the point I'm making. you say he only plays against the 'Bigger' clubs. That's not true. He was fantastic against them, but played excellently in countless other games. You, along with almost everyone else it would seem, have forgotten this. His form was less impressive in the second half of the season, but he was incredible in almost every one of the opening 19 games and was still good in the last 19. Every player has off games, just because he has perceivable personality issues, you take his more seriously.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is worth mentioning that to be fair to Feli our previous manager did like to play him more as a 2nd striker and target man. On his day the lad is pure class, I think we will see more of that this season as I suspect he will be playing more as a box to box cm which I think he with thrive in doing so and show his best most of the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's the point of this wonderful site we can have a go at players within reason of course. so please back off and let us have our say.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is actually 8 pm. on Wednesday on the west coast were the game is played. 11 pm on the east coast of America and 4 am Thursday in the UK.

Agree0 Disagree0

The guys on here slating him sound bl*ody stupid.

Fellani is awesome and has been one of the most influential midfielders in the EPL last season.

It was interesting to read he made more successful tackles and scored more goals than any Manchester United midfielder last season and they won the league.

Not too shabby, ay.

He's an Everton player who can make the difference for us AGAIN next season and I for one hope he stays until the end of his playing days because he is a class above most out there.

McArthy isn't a patch on him. The guy from Seville? what because he's from Seville, a second rated team in La Ligue, he's better than him - not a chance.

Wake up - smell the coffee - and jump on the bandwagon that recognises a great player when they see one. Marouane Fellaini - Awesome.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's very FAR from a great player, very inconsistent and plays when it suits him.
You didn't see Peter Reid, Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira play when they felt like and stroll around when they can't be asked did you? They were great players.
Fellaini is slow, can't pass more than 10 yards, is always likely to get sent off and inconsistent. On his day unplayable but that's about 1 in 6 or 7 games the rest he's a 6/10 average. Extremely overrated and won't be missed as we play better stuff when he's out of the team.

That doesn't add up as USA are 5/6 hours ahead depending on what part of the states you are in. {Ed025's Note - its actually between 4 and 10..

Agree0 Disagree0

The us are actually a few hours behind us so 4am sounds about right

Agree0 Disagree0

It is in san fran, on the west coast of USA, 7-8 hours behind the UK {Ed025's Note - just 8..

I still we should go and get Defoe while I think Jelavic and kone could score 15 each the flip side could be they won't I think we will create lots of chances but then again we did last year out problem is conversion rate is not good buying someone like Defoe for 5m I think he would score a bundle in next 2 seasons I know he is at the later end of his career but 5 million for someone who could easily score 40 goals got to be value for money

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cleverly is astep backwards don't rate him tom efc {Ed025's Note - nor me tom..

So when does Fellainis release clause date end? Lot of rumours United are coming in for him

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tomora at midnight it is dead according to reports but how true they are, are anyone's guess.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell him and get someone who actually wants to be here. Can't see us missing him that much, he only plays when he feels like it, which is usually 5 or 6 times a season against the 'bigger' teams.
We don't need a disinterested player on our hands and if he continues to show this attitude I can't see anyone coming for him and he will be benched.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you see the photo of him during training in the US, giving the finger. It went up on the official FB feed last night for a short time (until someone noticed!)

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm all for keeping Fellaini, but if Utd were to come in for him, would anyone else consider £12.5m + Cleverley? Then also buy McCarthy with the money. Both previously coached by Martinez, with an understanding of how he plays and have plenty of potential between them with premier league experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

If united aren't going to meet the clause and want a player plus cash deal 15m plus Hernandez

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez wouldn't want to come to Everton.

A swap for Fellaini alone maybe, but not Baines as part of it! - no way!Their combined total would be in excess of £40m. Rooney's not worth that these days!

Omg Rooney has met BK utd are preparing an offer for fellaini and baines and using Rooney as the deal clincher Rooney has told BK he wants to come back and finish his career at goodison but while he can have huge impact his aim to pick up a trophy and fire us to champions league he's aware of financial issues with wages, will take a massive pay cut and be on huge bonus pay for goals scored and gaining champions league, he wants to give back to club and be loved again

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I had that dream a few times myself but keep waking up in the real world, and by the way it would be his agent meeting BK not Rooney himself as he is under contract with Utd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't want him back, he's fat and overrated. Wouldn't swap him for Fellaini and would want £10m on top if Baines was to go the other way.

So, the official website at last has some info about the injuries to Alcaraz and Gueye, which explains their omission from the tour squad to the USA.
The omission of the younger players from the squad (which is 24 strong anyway) isn't worrying IMHO, as several have already had some pre-season game time and/or have already been given professional contracts - plus RM has said he wants to bring them through.
That just leaves the omission of Francisco Junior. Does anyone think he's now surplus to requirements - especially as we're reportedly interested in several other centre-midfielders?
