I think the best bet for our striker problem is to get a decent young forward, like Lenny Nangis, maybe as an investment, maybe on loan with an option to buy, as well as a more experienced striker on loan, like Moses, Lukaku or Ba. I still think Jelly has potential when used in a position he's more comfortable in, but who do you think would be the best loan striker out there for Everton?

Decent young player not easy to get loan to buy mate. But your option is so great for us. Nangis may be too young to bet for today problem solution. Isn't it?

Hi guys just had a bit of banter with a lad I know he reckons the city and united of now would walk all over the Liverpool/Everton of the 80's I had to send for a taxi for him obviously had too much. Just wondered who you chaps think would win. RED RUSS {Ed025's Note - our sides of the 80,s would trash them russ IMO..

The man united team ain't as good as thecteam from 7 years ago so that's a joke

U jus need 2 remind him that our Team now beat both the Manc teams, our team of the 80's different class! Them whe the days :)

Here's what I would do if I was bk apart from telling moyes to kiss me ring piece I would also fine him for trying to weaken are squad for his own personal benefit after all we are still paying his wages. Shame though because I loved the man and it seems he ain't arsed about upsetting a few of his former worshipers. LIAM!

After the rumours of honda, fer and so on. Looks like its kone and alcaraz. Not for me sorry. We need to improve and they aren't improvement on what we have. I'm hopin with roberto comin back from confed cup that he has other idea's and players in mind. Do blue's think this is the case or are we close to the mark on wigan players?

I think both will happen, to be honest (and a bit hopeful). I think it's only natural to raid his old club for players who he knows and are tried and tested in his attacking style. Kone scores goals, which is something we're desperate for and while he may not score many, he'll have better service from Everton than he did at Wigan. Alcaraz is a solid squad filler, especially if Jonny goes. The only question mark over him is fitness as he's good, but injury prone. More importantly, Martinez discovered Kone in the first place, so he does have an eye for a striker with aptitude for the PL. I have no doubt he's got a shortlist of names from the confed cup, maybe some players in the tournament who have been overshadowed by the bigger names being thrown about in the transfer window. Nigeria didn't do great in the tournament, but had some pretty good young players in, when so many of their squad was injured. Although if he's doing post match analysis again tonight for the final and he starts work tomorrow, he's going to be shattered, first day on the job. Don't sign Joey Barton by mistake Roberto!

To improve on what we have we need money, and that we don't have so instead of complaining we just have to get on with it and support whoever Roberto brings in.

Anyone watch the u20 last night what did you think of barkley, garbutt and stones performances, also ed which of these players were linked with do you think we will sign really want honda especially the price we could get him for as also could bring investment as he is an icon in Japan what you think ed {Ed025's Note - it looks at the moment like kone and alcaraz, honda really is 50/50..

The lads looked the **** they played well its just kane upfront couldn't hit a barn door! Stones and garbutt looked solid and quick, barkely played well also, long looked rapid when he came on aswell!

Barkley 710 played well and really can see his ability very skillful and powerful quite the combination got a bit of pace too definitely deserves more games for us.

Stones 810 looks very good very composed on the ball and only tackles if he has to and puts in some wicked crosses, imo he will either turn into a centre back or be the attacking right back we always wanted hibbert to be.

Garbutt 310 didn't show anything and seems very lazy has a poor cross and doesn't look like a defender also was his fault for the 2nd goal as he could of stopped it but didn't cannot see him having much of a future tbh.

Right seen as though that's sorted and agreed. Kone done alcaraz close and redmond is a little in the air. Agreed on that. because that's what am told. Other than that unsure for now.

So Garbutt has no future because he played one bad game. Logic right there.

Please bk (or baines himself) ensure that the baines trf does not go thru - how great would it be to annoy irritant Moyes in his first transfer attempt!

After the pathetic bid for Baines I hope he well and truly fails at United tbh.

How bitter, Moyes has had Everton punching above their weight for years. Any neutral football fan will tell you that. Also, how ironic that you don't have a problem with Martinez bringing players with him from the FA Cup Champions Wigan.

I'd hardly call it bitter. There's a BIG difference between BK telling Moyes NOT to come back for Everton players and Dave Whelan actively encouraging bids for Wigan players from EFC.

Additionally, Moyes was/is still officially contracted to EFC until tomorrow so effectively he's bidding for his own player, and knows what sort of price we would consider.

PS. I don't want any of the Wigan squad

I reckon Everton should sign Mexican under 20 world cup striker Jesus Escoboza, who got a goal against Mali in his socks. Well, one sock, but it's still a good bit of play for a one booted player.

i have been thinking, sell heitinga for 3million, buy lescott for around7-8 million and I would think everton should of had a sell on clause in his contract of at least 20-25 %, so we would only spend around 3-4 million for a good defender.

I doubt Joleon Lescotts release clause will be 7-8m

Why not just sell Johnny5 and get Alcaraz in for free and spend the £2m or so we get on Redmond? One up and coming youngster and an experienced CB and JH's extortionate wage would cover both.

Just been listening to talksport who think that its a good deal for baines to join man u for 15mil. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't baines in the top ten players in europe? Rumours of pepe going to man city for 20mil plus. Baines is twice the player. Drives me mad!

Do any of you guys have any idea of what wages the players at a club like Juventus would be? The reason I ask is that Juve will be very busy in the market soon as they prepare for their Champions League campaign. This means that a few of their fringe players will be available, & there are some cracking players amongst them.
I follow Serie A on ESPN & love to watch Juve. Here are some of their players I'd love to see at Goodison next season, (Please forgive any dodgy spellings!) :-

Cascerres - can play anywhere along the back line. Good tackler. Good going forward.
Pepe - Midfielder/winger. Scores goals, can take on players, always gives 100%.
Giovinco - Striker. Small, skilfull, tricky player. Good link up play. Thunderous shot.
Matri - British style centre forward. Decent hold up play. Scores some terrific goals.

One, or all!, of these players would take us up to the next level I believe. Really looking forward to the season. COYB! {Ed025's Note - the wages in serie A are very similar to the EPL tezza..

Cacares is on 80k, Pepe 70k, Giovinco 50k, Matri 75k.

Cheers for that. Much as I'd like Caceres, I suppose that puts just Giovinco in our wages structure.

If seems so, I'd expect Pepe and Matri would drop their wages in search of first team football, but I honestly wouldn't want either, they're average.

What would everyone's opinion be on signing Ba?

He's clearly not going to get played much, and shouldn't cost that much.

Would people prefer him over Kone?

I'd love to have him here. Scores goals out of nothing and would be more or less guaranteed at least 15 goals. If we had him last season we'd be preparing for CL football.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of Ba as a person to be honest Ed, I can't deny that I think he's a decent player though. We need a striker who can score week after week, and I feel he could do that.

Should be an interesting summer whatever happens though!

There was a rebecaa gorman in our class at school. she ended up getting locked up by the police for hanging round melwood and stalking some of the rs players. last I heard she was in styal for something.
