I would like to post my opinion here if, which is almost certainly yes, that Lukaku leaves next season what would everyone think of replacing him with 2 strikers, Slimani and Hernandez. I think especially Hernandez would be brilliant considering his previous
PL experience. HEY EDS DO YOU THINK YOU WGOULD PABY MORE THAN 25M FOR HERNANDEZ, he is scoring well in the BL.
I would also like you all to consider my fellow countryman Wes Hoolihan in the blue jersey. I know he is not young 31/ 32 but he bossed midfield v Slovakia and because he is older wouldn't cost so much.

Cheers all

COYB.

{Ed025's Note - chicarito is doing very well emerald, i dont know how much he would cost but im sure it wont be anywhere near £25m mate, as for wes hes an ok player at best for me and we need to aim higher..

Bony would be a nice addition for 20 million, throw in one of Imemarld's and that would be even better, Niasse is here and Kone is off in 8 weeks or so.

This summer, Lukaku will have three years remaining on his contract, could someone explain the process, wherebuy we could be forced to sell?

I don't think any club could be forced to sell unless going into liquidation.
The problem is you can't make a player who wants away play well!
Prime example John Stones, refused a move to Chelski and has been pants since!

Having three years left to run gives the club 2 options when not wanting to sell.

Play hardball and tell the player to hang fire for another year but jeopardise his transfer value

Or allow the transfer but call the shots with the transfer fee.

Having said that there maybe an agreement with the player to leave if champs league wasn't achieved.

IMO, contracts are not worth the paper they are written on.

I may be wrong, I'm sure the Ed's can clarify, but I believe players under 28 can 'unilaterally' cancel their contract with the club after 2 years of service, irrespective of length of contract remaining.

I think the 'parent' club, in Lukaku's case, Everton, can seek compensation from the buying club, if the player triggers the cancellation of the contract.

Like I said, I may be wrong.

Bottom line, contracts are just expensive toilet rolls.

i didn't agree with some one saying that stones could replace barry in dm, but watching last night I think he would be better playing just in front of defenders, a sort of david luiz going forward but better.

I must admit I can see Stones in this role yes.

I said that a few weeks back that he would be more suited to a Eric Dier role that Spurs use. He is good carrying the ball out and can also spread a decent pass.

I think that Stones playing further forward would limit the time he has on the ball even more so and we would leave the centre halves exposed when he is caught in possession. I think his best position is CB, he just needs to learn when to get rid and when to play out from the back.
