A bit drunk tonight and feeling a bit more positive after looking at the league table.

1) a win tomorrow takes us 4 points off champions league
2) we drew away against the premier league top team
3) lost 3 times this year but against the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placer teams. Man Utd have scores 4 goals for the 3rd game in a row and are on fire. Kane has 37 goals this year and the 2nd highest goals scored this year in the whole of Europe.

Hopefully the team will do us proud tomorrow 🤞.

We have also only won one away fne in 71 try's against the so called top 4 since the premier league started in 92/ 93. Liverpool away 1999. this alone is embarrassing. we don't need the big teams to beat us. We beat are selves every time we're scared we're to defensive we got no ambition no hope. Liverpool lost to Swansea at home, Chelsea lost at home to palace etc etc I know these results are few and far between but you cannot find one season since 92/ 93 besides the derby 99 that we won away at a big team in the league. it's hard life being a blue, and I am staunch I go home every game and 80% of sways. start giving us some hope an something to shout about an we might just get on board.

Sorry but don't knock POWPOWPOW
What he is saying is FACT and that is an appalling record to have .
I think someone who is a season ticket holder and away supporter cannot be called negative by his support given the fact we win nothing for over 25 years and one top 4 finnish only .
All are saying a win today we be in top 8 etc but it is the manner we are playing that is the problem .
Everton are known for their entertaining attacking football BUT are play is woefull
Yes we all want Everton to win but come on let's play with some flair and attack teams well at least at home.

A win tomorrow would put us firmly in the top 10 and only 4 points of the top 4. That should eradicate a bit of the doom and gloom.

To all the blues who are adamant that we will be ok and RK is the man can you explain why players like Barclay, Mirralas are in the position they are, wanting to leave or unhappy, Naisse being treated appallingly and now talk that Lookman is unhappy
Surely there must be some issue with the players and RK
Even Davies seems petrified to kick the ball forward as if he is going to be screamed at if he makes a mistake.
It seems to me the players don't like RK and if that is the case it won't matter what anyone of us think!

30 Sep 2017 16:47:17
Barkley has got more abuse from the stands than from RK, Mirallas has fell out with every manager we've had and it's attitude that's the problem, Niasse was not wanted by the fans until Lukaku left and pretty much everyone thought he was garbage and lookman is an U23 coming from Charlton that has to learn his trade.

Davies is getting the same treatment now from the stands to what Barkley got and what started to affect his performances when Martinez was at the club.

I'm not saying he is blameless but some of these players need to get some balls. If they were doing their job properly the manager AND the fans wouldn't be on their back so much!

Well said BlueJohn top post mate.

Agree2 Disagree2

30 Sep 2017 17:34:44
decent post bluejohn but u say if the players were doing there job properly, to many are being played out of position there is os no balance to the team at all, that is the managers fault, look at the limmasol game, to holding mids at home a poor first half, then what does he do in 2nd half kenny was on his own down that right hand side alls he had to do was put lookman on but no he puts klaasan on and tries to fit 3 number 10s in yet again, it just doesn't make sense, if we would have started that game width gyeye holding lookman an vlasic on wings and gylfi behind a front 2 we would have turned them over, that is down to koeman its not acceptable at all its not rocket science is it.

Agree3 Disagree2

30 Sep 2017 18:59:55
The reason Lookman is not getting a game is obvious from the times he's been on the pitch, he gives the ball away too much. That means he has two kids on the right if Kenny is on there with kenny who ends up having to clean up the mess left by Lookman.

Lookman is going to be awesome but he needs to learn when to take risks as most of the time he does it in his own half but he's a kid and will learn.

Also I don't like two cdm's like everyone else. I believe and have said more than anyone on here that you either play one of them with Davies the no.8 or Barklay/ Klaassen with one of them.

The problem with the no.10 is that we signed Rooney. I wanted him to succeed but he has proved the doubters right as he gives the ball more than anyone. He looks mentally unfit to me and also looks like he's put weight on since signing.

I think Vlasic is a striker and not a winger. He also looks a damn good one and someone who can hold that ball up. Personally I'd be playing him before any other we've got. Also he makes quick clever runs and Sig is starting to pick them out.

In all of this though they are still footballers but they can't do the basics until something bad happens and then they kick into gear. That's not the manager thas all down to them on the pitch. It's not Koeman but Williams giving the ball away and conceding a goal, it's Rooney giving the ball away and us almost conceding a goal, it's Klaassen giving a free-kick away and us conceding a goal. These are the issues that are not helping but yes are part of a bigger problem. if we can sort this out though it bloody well helps.

Not an Everton fan but although lookman may look erratic at times on the pitch he's one of maybe two players with any pace, without him it's sideways passes and no insertion. Vlasic has a bright future but it's definitely not as a striker.

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Sep 2017 22:17:55
To be fair he doesn't look erratic he just gives the ball away in poor areas. He's only young though and you'd expect him too. I'm not having a go at the lad he'll get much better.

As for Vlasic It's just my opinion on what I've seen. He may or may not but for me he looks like a goal scorer and could develop into the role. As a winger yep he can do that as well.

Agree with the posters who want more sound at Goodison. I am pretty sure that Koeman will turn the results around, the squad is too good for this not to happen. What I am not certain about is if he can get us playing attractive football. Every game I put on my Everton shirt and turn on the TV hoping to be entertained. This season I am not, in fact I am bored out of my mind. Koeman states that the players are "scared". I agree with him, they are scared about making mistakes so they take the easy way out and pass backwards. Koeman has shown that he does not favour players like Lookman, Barkley, Mirallas and until recently Niasse and Kenny and picks his old favorites who play the way he wants them to play, dull and boring stuff. Davies for example has shown he has a instinctive footballing brain which you can't coach. You either have it or you don't. What you can do is make the player so scared of making a mistake that they regress which is what Davies has done to a certain extent this year.
What Koeman needs to do is pick a more attacking team, give the forwards full rain to run with the ball and attack especially on the wing. They will not be successful every time but it will be more entertaining. Defenders should not make mistakes but forwards and supporting midfielders should be encouraged to have a go. To those who say getting the points is more important than playing attractive football may I suggest that playing good football brings its rewards both from getting points but also getting the fans behind the team.

It's quite interesting when comparing the current feeling about Koeman with the feeling about Martinez this time 18 months ago.

For the record I personally believe Koeman to be a better manager. They are worlds apart in personality (Martinez being overly positive and pandering to his players vs Koeman being overly critical of his players) .

They do however share a stubborness, being unwilling to change a system/ personnel that clearly are not working. They also both love square pegs in round holes (Koeman with his 3 no.10s, Bobby with lots of strikers/ cms playing left wing) , and they love to play their favourites whether they are in form or not.

The fact is, unless Koeman adapts and changes the system, he will have to go, and I doubt he will have as long as Martinez had because of the amount of money he has been given.

Given the debate at present re RK
I pose a observation that I would be interested to share .
As the people's club we generally stick together and don't really moan unnecessarily but having worked in Quality Ass I know those who moan, protest about service tend to get further than them that don't, that's a fact of life.
If RS or Utd for example were being served up what we are and were still waiting for a digger to take up position at Bramley Moor after Kings Dock, Kirby etc they would be hell to pay!
I not saying we should do what they ALMOST CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE but I do think management know we are better as supporters than them but the end result is we are perhaps treated less seriously because of our tempered approach resulting in slowness and a general malaise.
Before you all start screaming about £150M and the new ground Yea I know but that's only occurred in the last year or two
I am talking 22 years without silverware for what is one of the greatest football clubs .
Ok you can all shout at me now but views would be interesting re the Psychology aspect of us being non proactive.

To be fair Trebor we have protested more than most clubs in the EPL in the past. Planes overhead, marches to Goodison and constant bickering from the stands, even running onto the pitch to have a go at the manager. I've never been so embarrassed over our supporters ever. Ruzombalak (excuse the spelling) recently showed us a thing or two on how to support your team even when it looks like it's a lost cause.

It seems to be the culture now with our fan base.

This is my team. Pickford, Kenny Holgate, Jags, Baines, Lookman, Schneiderlin, Davies, Vlasic, Siggurdsen, Lewin. in a 4,4,2 line up. Width and steel in the midfield.
