Looks like it will be an interesting summer for us blues. The new agent of Rom has been his representative for a couple of days and is already showing his disrespect to the club. I expect he will agitate a move once the season is over. How much do you all think would be enough to let him go?
Not sure about the term 'super' agent, makes him sound a bit camp, 'elite' would sound better I think! But this fella must be of top quality as he assures us that he would have got Rom a starting place at Chelsea. If that's the case then Jose is a fraud, I mean he has blagged us all into believing it is him alone that picks the team. Never once has he given credit to an agent for putting a player on the pitch.

{Ed025's Note - roms agent is just one of a number of leeches and vampires who are sucking the life blood out of the game spud, if we let him go for under £30m then we get what we deserve mate..

Totally agree ed, football isn't the same with all this cash floating around it just attracts the vultures.
I'd say take nothing less than £35m, we want to make a few quid on any deal if it where to happen. But I'm realistic and think Chelsea done a number on us in regards to the fee we had to pay. Clubs will probably start the bidding at 20m, then it is up to the board to dig their heels in. This is all hypothetical as he may even stay, I've seen before, however, how these type of agents unsettle their player until they have to move. Fingers crossed!

{Ed025's Note - his agent..riarsehole..is angling for him to move spud, and it seems that agents are running the game now, so i do expect him to move mate..

This is all to do with Rom. I've said it time and again about this lad. His ego is bigger than his talent.

I myself don't care if he goes. Players come and go all the time. We haven't won the league with him and we won't go down without him. If he goes we just get a bag load of money and bring someone else in.

I care more about players like Barkley who genuinely want to play for us and understand what the shirt is about.

The fact Lukaku's agent wants to bin him off to a second rated league in italy says it all. It's all about the money!

what we need to do is replace BK with Levi of Spuds.
he seems to be able to get top dollar for average players &
other clubs (Chelski) must see Kenwight coming we it comes to the price they can him to pay.

. how about Fifa bring in a new rule - players can no longer have agents at all & any transfers are done only between the 2 clubs involved & representatives of the footballing body (I.e. - the F.A. here in England) act as the intermediary doing any of the necessary paperwork involved. that way tossers like Raiola & co no longer have a job & ruin the heads of good upcoming footballers who in turn ruin the forward planning of their clubs & expectations of their supporters!

{Ed025's Note - sounds good to me zacki..

. it's about time players were bought down a peg or two.there needs to be some asemblance of order bought back into the game.this & a sensible wage cap would kick out all of the problematic players & agents that our beautiful game currently has & would leave us with the real talents that want to genuinely get on & become to their clubs & country what we want them to be. you never know, we might even win the World Cup!

Trouble is that the rise in popularity of agents was down to footballers not all being 'the most intelligent' of people, so they were easy to manipulate by these unscrupulous third party representative, it has just got worse and worse. Clubs used to hold the power now its players and their agents hence also the ridiculous amount of money in the game.

I accept that all posters on this forum can express their opinion - subject to the Eds' rules about bad language and phobic bigotry - and the craic and entertainment value is welcome, BUT does anyone truly believe that all of our moaning about RM, BK, the players, etc., etc., makes any difference to what the club will actually do?
Not only are we posters just a small (albeit vociferous and strongly opinionated) section of the overall fanbase - and are probably ignored as such by the club as we're regarded as "unrepresentative" - but RM and BK have shown themselves by deed and word (although not BK of late!) to be single-minded (aka obstinate!) in pursuing their "principles" and carrying on down the path they've decided upon.
By all means carry on posting - I will, but only to vent my frustrations and not in the forlorn expectation that anything will be changed just because our posters demand it. In my humble opinion, it will take a massive demonstration of fan discontent, e.g. severely reduced attendances and/or serious crowd reaction (such as loud and sustained booing and similar anger), plus another couple of seasons like this one before the taxi is called for RM - unless he leaves off his own back. If he gets it right, then fine and the humble pie will be readily consumed by me. Hmmm - I'd love him to be a success, as that'd mean our club being successful, but I have yet to be totally convinced that he's now on the right track. One thing's for sure: BK is giving RM plenty of rope to hang himself when it goes completely pear-shaped.
Until then - and with no sign of new owners - I reckon that it's carry on regardless.
Ho, hum.

Agree Sid but it's far more humane to rant on here than kicking the cat!
RSPCA would have been called around many times to my place this season if no 'Banter Site'.

Cobyone. Me and my lad came to the same conclusion. Neither of us are Martinez fans. We reckon Silent Bill will probably only give him the Mirralas money to spend in the Summer then make a decision before the January window.

I cannot believe that Martinez has come out and said that Alcatrash has still got time this season to earn a new deal. Is this clown serious?

Yes, cause that's the way to motivate players. Tell them they have no future at the club with 8 games to go. Glad you're not in charge.

I agree with Leicester Toffee about not wanting to demotivate a player that might be needed for this season's remaining fixtures. However, I can't imagine anyone thinking that the player in question has performed consistently well when called upon and therefore hasn't shown that a contract extension is merited. As for motivating players, I wonder where Distin's mindset is considering that he's not had a sniff of the first team for a while and has only been appearing for the U-21 side as a (very!) over-age player. I reckon he would have left in the January transfer window if we could have got a decent replacement (maybe on loan) or had a youngster (Galloway, Browning, etc.) who was genuinely ready for regular first-team football. Thank goodness that Jagielka and Stones are currently fit for selection.

We're all entitled to an opinion, but tell me Leicester Toffee why we should motivate Alcaraz we wouldn't have got a decent offer for him even if we had included him in a lucky bag. I would rather give Browning or Galloway a go instead.

Whether he has performed well or not is irrelevant. When you have someone on your staff you have to motivate them as best as you can. It doesn't matter if you think you may be getting rid in a few weeks but for the time you have them you have to keep them keen. I have been a company director and have known that people will be leaving but you don't tell them until the time is right. I don't feel the time is right for us to do that with Alcatraz yet as he is still being used in some capacity and probably will be until the end of the season. You have to get real and understand how business and people work!!!

04 Apr 2015 09:19:03
I know and understand how business works, I have been successfully running a five million pound contract, employing 180 people, most who have been with with me for that time. I also know that if someone is not of the standard I need I don't offer them platitudes to encourage them to stay. If Alcaraz is offered a new deal, this and other websites are likely to go into meltdown.

see both points I'm not sure about you but playing in front of 40,000 at Goodison and picking up £45k a week would motivate me!
