Would like to see this team out against Wigan.......
Howard, Neville, Hibbert, Heitinga, Baines, Pienaar, Gibson, Fellaini, Donovan, Cahill, Jelavic........What do you think Ed???????

DonnyToffee {Ed025's Note - looks good to me donny..

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Good team, but a little bit unfair on Denis.

Agree0 Disagree0

That looks a good team but i would be interested to see how denis and jellyman would work together......grbefc {Ed025's Note - i think we should give it a go...jellyman is a different type of player to denis, he has a bit of finesse as well as power..

Agree0 Disagree0

U cannot drop dennis even if it for a half u cant drophim when he high on confidence do u agree ed {Ed025's Note - i like the guy mate..he gives us a different dimension, i know he is prone to losing possession at times..but his positives outweigh his negatives for me..

Ive ad the team for tomorra. Unchanged from midweek. Personally think the same team deserves to play. Heard it here first. {Ed025's Note - and where may i ask did you get that?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Don't be stupid, Moyes only picks it an hour and a half before kick off, stupid. I am sure he will have to sleep on it anyway with thr decisions he has to make.

welcome back ED 25, what a few days its been, were all on cloud nine at the minute, and you have to give moyes credit here, the 4 signings hes made this window are all perfect for pure balance and variation to the team...come on boys, a nice 3 points tomorrow.

BATTO EFC {Ed025's Note - cheers batto...i think dave has found his mojo, i have not seen him so happy in years!!, i just hope that we carry it on through the rest of the season mate..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Agree Ed. it's nice to see DM getting a little dosh has made a massive difference to him and us. Positive thinking means positive football and I for one am looking forward to the rest of the season. Roberto be afraid... Very afraid!

Toffee ace {Ed025's Note - the thing is ace...we have always said that we dont need megabucks!..just a new face now and again to freshen things up, we have not spent a fortune (compared to others), but the hope , and excitement it has given to everyone concerned with the club ,,has been brilliant..long may it continue..

Donovan will be a massive loss when he goes but hopefully Drenthe can play on the right once he learns a bit more about making the correct decisions during games, he's really exciting but sometimes i find myself screaming at him during games and then 5 minutes later cheering because he does something magical, now Pienaar is back he has to start on the left because no matter what teams used to do to stop Baines and Pienaar it was almost impossible because they link up so well.
My team after Donovan and when everyone is fit would be;
Howard
Hibbert Heitinga Jagileka Baines

Drenthe Fellaini Gibson Pienaar
Cahill
Jelavic

Subs
Mucha
Neville
Distin
Coleman
Osman
Rodwell
Straqualersui

Would like to see Barkley on the bench but i can't see Moyes using him till next season, that's why i haven't put him there.
Also good players in reserve in Gueye, Vellios, Duffy, Baxter and Mcenely with experience in Mcfadden and Hanahmen
Ste Blue Nose

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree with most the team, but i would have Strag and Coleman

Howard
Coleman Heitinga/Distin Jagielka Baines
Fellaini
Drenthe Pienaar
Ginson
Jelvavic Straqualursi

maybe put Heitinga rb with Distin in the middle, then Coleman rm if Drenthe seems too much of a liability in big games

Agree0 Disagree0

Errrmm only one question really, why is tim cahill in your starting eleven? surely you havent forgot hes been crap for over a year now? straq all day long to start, hes a battering ram n a work horse, jelavic will think hes found a soul mate playing with him, city where scared of straq, jelavic would feed off him to such great effect, a battering ram and a finisher or a finisher with a past it player who's main attribute used to be arriving late in the box which he can no longer do as hes slow now

Agree0 Disagree0

Cahill, crap? You having a laugh? Did you see him Tuesday? {Ed025's Note - he was very good..

Agree0 Disagree0

So many people banging on about Cahill this season, how he has lost it and why do we play him. He was awesome on Tuesday night, battered around, bloodied lip etc....battled through every challenge. Lay off Tim he has proven to be a legend for our club. Long may he continue to play!

Agree0 Disagree0

Players like tim deserve to be ambasadors for our club, dedicated, never put his head down, he is a real hero. How anyone could doubt him I don't know.
EFL {Ed025's Note - i agree mate..he epitomises everything that is good about this club...even though i dont think he is up to playing every game, he should be signed up for life..

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotta say the comments about cahill are funny, yes hes been a great servant and has been great in the past but before tuesday hes been awfull for a year+ yet ofc he does up his game and seem like the old time cahill when we play city, utd, chelski, the s**te but still you do not play a player based on he used to be good, it would be like throwing the brazil ronaldo upfront now just because he used to be unreal, 442 with jelly and straq is a must over cahill now, you dont accomadate a 32 year old just because he was good, impact player from the bench

I had a dream last night that hibbert scored twice against wigan n one was an absolute screamer. Just thort I would share {Ed025's Note - martin luther king also "had a dream"...only not as far fetched..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I am convinced he will get a goal this season. Just got a feeling, he has been really good this season, probably the best he has been ever.
Also he has had a few moments where he has found himself at the back post, if he scores it would brilliant especially if it was at goodison, the crowd would go proper mental !
Paul EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

But Moyes always prefers Neville.

Agree0 Disagree0

King copied almost everything he said from others but I think this guy's dream was definitely an original - not even hibbo has ever dreamt that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Look what happened to King... {Ed025's Note - yeah...he went down as an absolute legend..

Still buzzin about everythin that happened at EFC on Tuesday night. The signings and the performance on the pitch were fantasic. It was also great to see the atmosphere at goodison special again. All that we neeed to see now is Goodison to capacity again. So i'm hopin that at the next home game we get to see the ground as it should be, loud and full! Thank you to the lads and David Moyes for making my week. COYB IMWT.
James

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Totally agree James. Tuesday seems a long time ago, but still buzzing on Saturday morning! BlueTone {Ed025's Note - but we have got to keep the feel good factor going, if we lose to wigan, it will negate all the good work done on tuesday...so come on guys...we like the cheshire cat syndrome, so lets keep it going...COYB..

Anyone see the latest interview with straq? Saying he doesn't just want a permanent move to us he wants to earn the " no9 " shirt, the lads just quality him n jelavic one a work horse one a finisher we might finally have something in terms of getting goals :) And both really want to play for us

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I'm getting butterflies thinking about it haha.can't wait

I think we need a few new chants to get behind the lads so what do you think of these

(to the tune of 'I Just Cant Get Enough - Depeche Mode)
Oh Steven Pienaar, Came back to Goodison
I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
When he sets up Bainsey or when he runs ahead
I just can’t get enough, I just can't get enough
He went away but blues in his blood
And I just can't seem to get enough of
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Steven Pienaar
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Steven Pienaar

(To the tune of 'Paradise' - Coldplay)
Nikica Jela Jela Jelavic
Jela Jela Jelavic
Jela Jela Jelavic
Woooahhooooh

Nikica Jela Jela Jelavic
Jela Jela Jelavic
Jela Jela Jelavic
Woooahhooooh {Ed025's Note - lennon and mcartney are safe....but not a bad effort mate..

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Lovin the peanut one. Would rather him set up the jelly man though to get him off the mark on his debut, then score another 2 for a hat trick on his debut - cottee stylie.

Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

Pienaar sets up Jelavic:

It's peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time

(Chorus:)
Where he at 4x
There he go 4x
Peanut butter jelly 4x
Do the peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly,
Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat 2x

Ok Ed..Any news on a new stadium? {Ed025's Note - no mate..i think its a long way off, and until we get some major investment...its not even on the radar..

Believable0 Unbelievable2

03 Feb 2012 13:47:13
ed what is the likley line up for tomorrow? i know its hard to say mate, dan + elliot {Ed025's Note - well guys...in my opinion, it will be the same as tuesday, except for jellyman replacing denis...i think peanuts may start on the bench..but in the end...im not the manager..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Il be gutted if he drops straq for jelly man , should be cahill being dropped all day not straq

03 Feb 2012 12:20:39
stop thinking that wigan will just roll over ? they have to beat everton and they will really be up for a fight on saturday..I watched them draw with chelsea at home about a month ago and they really were unlucky not to beat chelsea ..so get set for a corker and stop taking wigan for granted they can be very dangerous on the day esp in that freezing cold staium its like the north pole in the summer . but love all you blues so keep the faith ..

Believable14 Unbelievable0

Totally agree m8.Wigan can play some decent football at times on there day there good.we should win teams like this but you just can't bet on it,I'm hoping for an easy win.but Like you said cant guarantee it

Westy the blue

Martinez is so under-rated they play better football under him than they ever did. {Ed025's Note - i agree with that...he is a quality manager..

Think Moyes will go with this tomorrow:
Howard
Hibbert Duffy Heitinga Baines
Drenthe Gibson Felli Peanuts
Landon
Stracq

Moyes will probably rest Distin as it is weak opposition and we haven't conceded many with that defence. Also I think Stracq deserves to keep his place, and also Moyes likes to keep his unproven players on the bench, this will not be a problem for Peanuts as he already knows the system/what to do.

I think Drenthe will play as he will really put the defence to the sword with his quick feet and pace. Donovan just in behind the striker but drifting out when Drenthe likes to cut inside onto his strong foot.

I'm going with a 3-0 win -
Duffy (Donovan assist)
Stracq (Peanuts assist)
Jelavic (Bainesy assist)

JM

Believable1 Unbelievable4

He wont leave Cahill out mate, Cahill covered 8 miles against City and him and Straq really worked hard, i think he will go with the same line up with maybe Pienaar starting instead of Drenthe, he might even bring Duffy back for Hibbert

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with second post, can't see him leaving Cahill out, he has looked more confident since his goal against Blackburn and he worked unbelievably hard against City, i know straq did aswell but Cahill was everywhere and don't see Moyes leaving him out, I think it will be the same team to be honest though..... Straq and Pienaar on the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

Not straq on the bench.... i meant to say Jelavic and Pienaar on the bench (ooopppsss)

Agree0 Disagree0

Drenthe is suspended by the way, 5 yellow cards.
EFL {Ed025's Note - the peanut can do his job for us....now that we have got strength in depth ;o)

Tough call for moyes tomorrow with team selection (a welcome headache), i think if jelavic is ready i would start him with denis up top, and drop cahill to the bench, because denis works so hard for the team he is normally spent around the 60/70 minute mark so moyes could swap him with another work horse mr cahill! the wigan defence will be constantly working for 90+ minutes leaving the jelly man to score :-) i think denis deserves another start as he has lead the line better than anyone has for a while now!
Also pienaar should be ready to pick up from where he left off linking up with baines so i would drop drenthe to the bench and let him watch how its done! And hopefuly when donovan goes he will take over from him but at the moment he is most effective from the bench cant think of many players better than him to come on for the last 20 mins, once he sorts out his decision making then he will be one of the first names on the team sheet!
Gibson and felli are beginning to look good together! Felli has been outstanding last two games, easily one of the best midfielders in the prem! The back 4 looked weak on paper tuesdy night but managed to reduce city to 3 shots on target with all there fire power thats a massive achievement! Hibbert did well in the center but ill be happier seeing him back on the right! If distin or jags are ready then one of them back in to partner heitenga who has been playing brilliantly at the back and should keep his place! Baines has been looking a bit jaded of late but with pienarr back i think he will come alive again! Neville! Im undecided! Hes a great captain but his pssing has been awful i think i would bench him and play hibbo instead!
We have pace, hunger, work rate, height, strength and now creativity! Im excited about the rest of the season and i think the players and manager are aswell! I reckon we can reach the final of the fa cup and finish top 8 possibly 7!
Lets 3 or 4 goals tomorrow and really push on! Coyb! {Ed025's Note - really good post that mate....i think felli has got a new lease of life with gibbo in there, and i think he will start with jellyman, but on his own in a 4-5-1, even though its a bit slack on denis, who has been great recently

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I said on this site when he signed that I thought Gibson was a good acquisition. He's comfortable in possession and he is a good passer. I think his influence will grow and with him and Fellaini, we now have the look of a classy partnership, which will benefit the whole team. Moyes now has choices - when fit, I can see Rodwell playing in a 5 man midfield in some games and Jelavic and Straq palying up front in others. Jelavic, Piennar and Gibson in, Billy and Saha out - great business! {Ed025's Note - not going to argue with that mate...there is going to be a big battle for the midfield spots...and with ross looking to break through, the competition will be fierce, thats all good in my book..

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes will start with same team I reckon. Jelly and peanuts on bench. Yummy {Ed025's Note - jellyman will start i think..

Agree0 Disagree0

Jelly has missed the last 2 games with a virus so he deffo wont start {Ed025's Note - not deffo mate....he trained yesterday, so it cant be that bad..

Agree0 Disagree0

So many slagging off Gibson as well when he joined! hilarious isnt it everyone now saying they told us so! ha
Think he has a bit of the Roy Keane about him if goes on to develop a bit more! {Ed025's Note - if he turns out to be a roy keane...we will have just made the buy of the century..

Agree0 Disagree0

its all a bit of luv in on this everton page at the moment.at last we have brought in some new players, i think people are quick to forget and that we have spent maybe 6-7m in this transfer window which is nowhere near the money we have had in from players sold this season.arteta.yakubu,beckford and billy.when the summer comes will we be buying or selling. on the plus side is straq started to play well and the squad looks alot stronger.hopfully a good win at wigan on saturday
school of science {Ed025's Note - i think we are just enjoying the moment sos....and who can blame us?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Please dont drop strach he is the reason for our recent form what a differences made in energy up front making things happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree , denis's energy has invigorated the team ,play him then bring jelavich on after an hour.
