Hey Ed 025 have you heard anything about Palace making an offer of £7 million for Niasse mate, looks like if true we might have to cut our losses and cash in cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i have not heard that GB but if its true i would bite their arm off mate, i like him as a person but hes not likely to get a game im afraid so its the logical thing to do mate..

Almost sounds too good to be true eh mate.

{Ed025's Note - i think its a fair price GB, im sure he could do a job for someone but i just dont think thats us mate..

The crap that lad had to put up with and the way he was treated and his response and dignified attitude should be a lesson to many players. Wish him nothing but the best of luck. Not forgetting he actually scored some important goals for us.

{Ed025's Note - i fully agree DFS..

After reading the sensible posts below about realistically how long this rebuild process of our team would take, i had a good laugh to myself to think that some posters thought this was going to be a quick fix and even taking as long as one or two seasons at most, everyone at Everton from Mr Moshir, Bill and the board along with Marco and Marcel have all said there is no quick fix, we have all heard this from the horses mouth so get real this as some of the Eds keep repeating is going to take a good few windows before we get anywhere near remotely close to the finished team, in the meantime everyone needs to chill out and above all be patient, there is one excuse though I have been expecting to read but hasn't happened is that this is all Bill's fault lol, in the meantime let's be thankful we don't have Big Sam or Koeman anywhere near the team now.

Also forgot to mention the Quality of the players being brought into the Club under Marco and Marcel now, just compare to what was brought in by our previous two so called Managers no contest, be thankful we can even compete now in the market thanks to Mr Moshiri and the Board we are very lucky to have them.

Tell you what GB. I believe that Mr Silva is and was a bad choice and someone somewhere has made a huge mistake in A. Choice of advisor. B. Listening and taking that advice and C. Hiring Mr Silva based on that advice. Do you remember Bill Kenwrights reasons for hiring Mr Martinez, there were two of them A. Wigan beat us 3-0 on the way to the FA Cup and B. Wigan won the FA Cup, no mention of their constant flirt with relegation and his finally taking them down. I really hope that Mr Silva can change into the Messiah a lot of you believe even though the evidence is not there, so far all I see is after 6 months it is all unfolding the same as at his last two Premiership Clubs.

Agree GB. Regardless of what happens to the manager in the short or long term, the team is of a higher quality already from what it was last season. We have replaced Williams with Mina. Baines with Digne. Bolasie with Richarlison. Add to that Gomes and Zouma on loan and we are much better equipped. Once they all knit together we will be much improved.

Exactly it's not Rocket Science is it Smit mate!, Give them time DFS Marco and Marcel will get it right but as I and many keep telling the few non believers on here we were in an awful state and it's going take time, BELEIVE.

Ducks Fly South. Brands had a hand in agreeing to Silva coming on board. Does this mean you do not think Brands is a good acquisition too?
Im not sure how up until the Liverpool game it all looked like it was unfolding like his last jobs. We are going through a sticky handful of games. This happens to most teams over the period of a season.

To make a judgment that it is all unraveling after 5/ 6 games, 2 of which were City and Spurs is definitely a bit knee jerk.

I just can't see how before this period anyone could foresee anything but an improvement on the last 4 seasons.

Don't even want to think about the last seasons Smit lol.

I have said what I said smit and stand by it. His stats are worse than Alardyce, the same as Watford, not checked Hull, perhaps you would like a go. Olimpiakos, , he did Brill anyone would do well there. I played for Hong Kong and combined services and I was crap, what does that tell you, totally different level. This fella will go the same way as Martinez and end up managing somewhere like Belgium where he cannot lose. You refer to brands, you know as well as I, that it was not just Brands. Brands has really good contacts but out of respect and professionalism, he just cannot go rip off his old Clubs or disrespect contacts. Brands is a very good acquisition, Silva is not.

03 Jan 2019 16:48:38
Sadly I brlieve that Moshiri has not got a clue how to pick a manager and all the money in the world will not take us back to the top without the right leader.
Clubs who have spent and failed, let's start with Leeds been as low as the third tier. They spring to mind.
So many big clubs just spiral down because the owner will eventually stop spending that worries me.

I think a bit of perspective about who we have signed and who signed them I personally don't think we have signed players that are so much better than some of our previous managers. They have been good signings but we did sign some good players under both Koeman and SA aswell. What I do like is we are trying to get players coming into/ at their peak or players with great potential.

Not sure who I'm replying to here DFS or BCT?

The problem with all the 'I told you soers' is that they are nowhere to be seen when we are playing well and we look a good side. No posts, no replies. Nothing to moan about so why contribute.

As soon as we hit a sticky patch they are all of a sudden mystical football genuises and very active on here. They can't wait to say 'I told you he was rubbish'.
Well if we win the next couple of games they will no doubt scuttle away until the next sticky patch.

But they are allowed their opinion like everyone else, and if they are right I am sure they will be on here letting us know how they had it sussed from the start.
But if they're wrong and Silva does well then I am sure we will hear very little from the I told you soers.

There are only two three mate a very very small minority to the amount of posters on here but hey everyone has an opinion and that's what makes this site so good even if a couple are so negative lol.

Smit, I have various devices, I use BCT as my main one and believe it or not Ducksflysouth on my main comp. I do not believe, I have ever said I told you so nor have I insulted anyone. I initially applauded the recruitment of Koeman but decried Martinez from the very start for the same reasons I decry the appointment of Silva. If Silva does prove to be a winner I will readily admit I was wrong. There are many reasons I believe he (Silva) was hired, same for Alardyce as it happens. Obvious if you think about it.

03 Jan 2019 20:36:25
Well your previous replies and posts DFS are all over the place, showing no sign of patience with the club.

You post negativity at the everton highrachy 2 weeks into the summer transfer window because they haven't made a signing then weeks later you back Silva because he has signed 2 Brazilians. Now we are back on the negativity about Silva because things aren't going well.

You championed Dyche for the job and you would have us watching the mind numbing football he would have subjected us to.
No thanks, not for me, but each to their own eh.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2019 21:18:12
A. I backed Brands for the signings but also said and still maintain we paid a premium for Richarlison because of our tapping up of their Manager. As mentioned many times Brands is the one we need, the bloke has good contacts. I think that Dyche would still do a good job at a Club like ours with the resources at hand. My preference though if a vacancy became available (like many others) would be for Benitez, he could take us to the next level. All this though is irrelevant as we have a Manager already. Incidentally if boring football enabled us to finish consistently in the top 6 I would take it. Football is a results business. Not for me such utterly stupid statements as 'I would rather see us relegated playing good football than stay up playing the football of Alardyce'

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2019 22:12:38
There is no evidence of boring football getting any team into the top 6 consistently, its actually quite the opposite. Tottenham despite spending a lot less than the so called top 4/ 5 get in the top 4 almost every year. Arsenal who spent very little after the stadium was built, made top 4 often enough and won a few cups along the way. Funnily enough both by playing attacking football.

Benitez as much as I like him as a coach, under delivered with Liverpool, considering the amount of money they spent every window.
Dyche had 1 fluke season but one thing is for sure, he will be available for work pretty soon.

As always when transfer madness time comes around we will get linked with lots of different players. Some you'll greet with 'Yes Please' and others a 'Get Outta Here' or words to that effect. Despite Mr Moshiri's riches though we don't have a bottemless pit of money and even if we did FFP rules limit what you can do. We know where needs strengthening and we hope something can be achieved. However, I wouldn't get too excited until something actually happens.

We need some out of the door first Big H then we can realistically free up wages and recoup some of our expenditure.
I hope we can get rid of Schneiderlin and Niasse and get a striker in on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2019 16:53:36
Also no top players are likely to want to come to this failing giant of a club. We need a manager who can build without a lot of money and stabalise the club as Moyes did. We also need a lot of fans to get real and support this approach in a big way.
Yes we need the new Moyes to get us consistently at the right end of the table then worry about trying to really win things again, this needs to take 5 years. Winning a trophy is not relevant to us we need to build the foundations again of our once great club.

{Ed025's Note - i certainly dont want the new moyes DC...i could not stand the bleedin old one!!, lets give silva a chance and not be so fickle mate..

I get why people are slagging off Silva and I understand that comparing him to BFS is not saying bring Allardyce back but I think Silva needs more time to see whether he's right for the club or not.
He needs to look at what he can do to improve the squad this window. I think he should be looking for:
A pacey striker who can finish. Might be difficult in January but perhaps on loan from a club just knocked out of champions league. A pacey right winger who can cut in, cross and score and track back Again may be tricky in January but if we get a striker then this might be less important as we can play a proper 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 using DCL and/ or Cenk.
A first choice right back. This could also make getting a right winger less urgent as they can help out Walcott.
A replacement for Gueye who can pass more.
Getting any of these in would make a big difference I think otherwise we are relying on DCL and Lookman and Kenny to step up and will have to keep Gueye.
If we can get 2 or more of these positions sorted we will shoot up the league but the January transfer window is rarely easy. However. Hanging on until the summer I think is risky.
The question is what would be the best position to fill first? There are arguments for any of them.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed0333's Note - it really baffles me how some fans want rid of Silva already? Imagine having to go and clear up Koemans and Big Scam’s crap. That is not something that can be done overnight and takes a few windows.

03 Jan 2019 07:01:46
Short answer Bunny and Ed0333, they are impatient. I admit I have found myself getting more and more frustrated recently, but I counter that with the simple facts that we have much better players now and we are playing - for the most part - more attractive football. There are still issues to be resolved which all takes time, and as long as we don't drop too far down the league this season I hope Marco and Marcel are given the time to sort them out.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Jan 2019 09:02:27
It would be a mistake getting shot of Silva now. Even Pochatino said we along with spurs had the worst fixtures over this Xmas period. We looked leggy and lethargic in last game. I'm sure we will get back to our way of playing ASAP. We obviously still need reinforcements. A replacement RB may not be a must if Kenny plays like he did against the Leicester. Definitely a striker needed either permanent or on loan. RW is essential and another CM. It'll come good. We were never a quick fix. Unfortunately a lot of our fans are quite demanding.

{Ed025's Note - arent they just dentie..

03 Jan 2019 10:17:02
This is the big conundrum though Silva's selection of players and tactics? When he gets it right and the team are fresh then we move the ball really well and look like a completely different team. Unfortunately since the derby with the exception of one match we have played very poorly. For me a right sided midfielder would be a priority, I was hoping Bernard would be able to do a job there but he is too left sided for me. I am not sure a striker would be the savior most are thinking as I don't think we create enough finishable chances. I think most of us agree that unless Silva is given the time to build a squad capable of playing the style of football he wants then we will be going back to square one yet again. I am not sure who is the right man to build a team capable of challenging the top 4 what I do know is that if we keep getting rid of managers after a string of poor results then we will never get there. Stability is key to building confidence a good side has bags of confidence. As long as we don't get relegated which is very unlikely then two full seasons should give us an idea if he is the right man for the job or not.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Jan 2019 11:27:48
The benefit of a striker would be that we could utilise Ricky on the left and right which in turn helps us to utilise Bernard more.

Calling for Silvas head will always come after a run of bad results from the supporters who didn't want him in the first place.
It is expected and their perogative to want who they like in charge.
Half a season and we are 3/ 4 points away from 7/ 8th i can take. History shows that the likes of Bournemouth and Watford will tail off as the season goes on. I would be very surprised if Wolves and West Ham are vying for 7th and 8th come the end of the season. This leaves us fighting it out with Leicester for 7th. We will recover in the 2nd half of the season with 1 or 2 additions.

I still have the performances of last season etched firmly in my mind and a few off the boil performances won't erase them.
We need to take stock at the end of the season and re evaluate if need be then.

Not a case of getting rid ed333. We are stuck with him now. I don't boo my own team or staff from the terraces, I don't pay for a fly pass. I just voice my opinion on our pages. Our family, it stays in house.
