Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

It's murder having to listen to yet another report of a consortium interest in buying a Premier Club (Arsenal this time) other than Everton of course. Is our ground such a sticking point that puts off investors?

Ed, When was the last time (if any) of a genuine interest from an investor? I sort of suppose that even if we had, then of course the Government would intervene and put a stop to it. Personally, the thought of playing in Europe and righting past wrongs is far more fun than waiting for the invisible investor. {Ed025's Note - as far as i know mate, there has been no concrete offers from anyone!..

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Combination of stadium (which is a major sticking point), the price the board are asking and to a little extent the debt are all preventing the club from being sold.

For an investor or owner to buy this club, he will have to fork out a figure in the ballpark of 300mil (which won't happen at that price), the price for a new stadium, which is what another couple hundred millions and then a bit for transfers.

A lot of money, and that is just the start. Something is going to have to give, whether it be the board realise this club isn't worth what they want and they significantly lower the asking price or somehow, miraculously a new stadium is for built us.

Dont know where you got your figure from second poster, the fairies I think.

The board want 150 million, another 200 million for a new ground then another 35 million to clear the debt, total outlay for a top club £385 million.

If Arsenal are worth 1. 5 billion then I am sure £385 million is a decent price for our club debt free with a new ground.

Apparently Wigans Ground cost £32 million! Surely we could get something decent for £100 million?

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure this consortium wants a club that makes money not loses it, and unfortunately we just don't make make any money because commercially we are shocking, but Arsenal it's scary just how much money money they make and that's what these people see and I for one can't blame them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where we getting £100 million then from? Maybe Kenwrong has ring fenced the money.

I have it that, smith, oldham, is to be offered a trial, if it's true, it's not a bad idea, but he nees a lot of work to make him a prem player. {Ed025's Note - or we could just buy a lamp-post..

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Is this true Ed? {Ed025's Note - i suspect it is just rumour mate..

So sad with all the talk of an Arsenal takeover, that we can't even generate a rumour on the subject. come on Bill, give us a hope of something. even if its just to give us the old banter. that we are always involved with 3 or 4 inquiries.

After yesterday can we please stop this Martinez nonsense?. He would be a disaster for us.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

What just because his team rolled over to Liverpool? I remember a certain other team that rolled over to Liverpool last season also and that teams manager is suppose to be good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Been saying this for a while aswell mate. Most seem to want him as he is foreign, has a tan and wears a nice suit. The guy is tactically inept and has seemed to have spent his entire managerial career in the bottom 5. I don't like Moyes, (never have done and never will do), but even he has more tactical acumen than Martinez.

Mike {Ed025's Note - is there anyone you actually do like mike?..

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm consistent ed. I hate everything, it just make things a lot easier.

Mike {Ed025's Note - love it mike..great answer mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Not having a go Mike but who would you actually like as our manager?
Joe EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Frank De Boer would be my first choice, although we have no chance of getting him.

A more realistic one would be Lucien Favre from Monchengladbach. Although I doubt we will go for him either.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm going to get laughed at but for me Paul Lambert is great. If he keeps that villa team up it will only strengthen my opinion. Now I think we will promote from within with Neville, but looking around realistically there is no stand out candidate that would 1) improve us 2) see us as a realistic destination, your Hiddinks etc
So let's just hope Moyes stays hey

Svenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Mike. Martinez will always be a no for me. Too much time spent in the relegation dog fight for me, despite there always being some good players at the club.

Toffee ace.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would agree with you about lambert svenny, he's got a youth team at villa and did well at Norwich

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a big no to Lambert for me the last thing we need is a poor mans David Moyes

Youse have clearly all missed me ;), thought mucha did good yesterday as did our whole team but mirallas and pienaar were both fantastic, heitinga had a nice steady game but still. Would feel more comfortable with duffy at the back with distin now that jags is injured. Rafael, jenkinson and coleman have been the most improved right backs in the league this year (even if Johnson and zabaleta have had better overall performances this year), imo we should play mirallas up front with jelavic and have oviedo right wing as we looked more threatening with two up front, good day all round now let's push on and finish above the reds

Phil, COYB!

Ed What do you think the problem is with Jelavic? He looks a million miles off last season I still think he's a world class player. {Ed025's Note - I wish I knew mate, it's not for the want of trying though..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

World class? That term is used way too loosely

Agree0 Disagree0

His knackard I think don't forget the poor guy has been playing non stop for over a year now he needs a break.
I think next season we will see the old Jelavic back again.

Ed is it true that we have enquired about Denis Cheryshev again? I thought Madrid said a deal wasnt possible?
Joe EFC {Ed025's Note - according to my sources joe we have, either on loan, or loan to buy contract..

In Baines and Coleman we now have two overlapping full backs who can provide quality crosses, so isn't it obvious that we need a big number 9 to get on the end of them? I can go back to the days of Royle, Latchford, Grey and Sharpe. It's a tradition at Everton, and one that needs bringing back before we waste the quality we have.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Time have changed mate and it's that kind of thinking that will hold us back it's time to move on from that type of striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gray and Sharp

with Baines and coleman I would definitely be playing 3-5-2!

Agree0 Disagree0

That type of thinking won trophy s mate. Remind me what have we won recently?

jags to have an operation, seems like it was a really bad cut. Hope he won't be sidelined for long. Ihave to agree myself pienaar was excellent yesterday, and it was refreshing to see someone actually shoot from outside the box

pienaar was outstanding yesterday as was mirillas. Coleman looks like he's turning into a top right back to. I must admit when moves switched mirillas and pienaar wings I was unhappy but it proved to be a match winning decision (goes to show why he is the manager and not me). thought felli did ok in spells and it was no coincidence we starting creating chances when it was played on the floor. vic looked good again when he came on and thought ossie and gibbo had better games than they have of late. only 2 negatives yesterday. 1) no clean sheet. conceding from yet another cross and header. 2) jelavic didn't score. I was so desperate. for him to. was gutted vic never cut it back for him and shot instead. but think that shows his team mates no longer have much. confidence in him. oh and one. more negative is the injury to jags. hope he isn't out long and play duffy not heitinga.

really glad that we didn't miss howard today, shame we didn't get the clean sheet but it was a good win to get back on track, peinaar was out of this world today
