In my opinion, next season we will see John lundstram blooded into the team and we will sign Barry to help him so that when he retires he will have a ready made replacement.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i would like to see that jesse..

Good passer of the ball, not flat on his feet and being young and wanting to impress, will probably throw himself into tackles.i agree that if we keep Barry then Lundstram will not have a better role model to learn off.

Hi Ed025 and fellow blue girls & boys. Just a quick one. Does anyone know anything about a new stadium/redevelopment of Goodison Park?

Also, we had planning permission for a new museum/offices to be built on the car park behind The Park End, what's happened to that. Maybe i've missed something but that seems a little strange especially as 'it would pay for itself'.

Now, if something would pay for itself and cut running costs of Goodison (by moving all offices to the new museum/offices) and make money through the museum and tours, why hasn't this been done?

If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Everton Al.

{Ed025's Note - it was supposed to start in summer 2012 al, i dont know what has happened there mate..

Maybe i'm looking to much into it but it does seen a little strange that to me. Why build a new museum/offices if we're building a new stadium or redeveloping The Grand Old Lady? Wasted money? Or maybe it's just another promise that has fallen flat on its arse?

I don't remember reading anywhere that the plans had been cancelled, it just seems to have never started. Thanks anyway though Ed.

I think we should switch Baines to right back and give him a go there. Distin could have a go up front too with his blistering pace. Not really.just wanted to see if Oli Jennings was taking note.he says all my posts are the same and he does not read them.
Thanks Oli.

{Ed025's Note - dont take things too serious degs, its only banter mate, a lot worse has been said about me, but then again i have the power to ban them.. :)

03 Mar 2014 21:08:21
well they usually are the same, if you're not defending moyes you're moaning about howard not scoring enough goals, give it a rest mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Degs, your posts make far better reading than than Mike Ox-Longs match ratings mate. The bloke seems to slag off the same players he don't like every week and praise the ones he does, it's boring. I find myself agreeing with a lot more of what you post than that fella does mate so don't worry about it. If you read all recent posts it's like he's engaged to his PC. Let's all hope Leon, Pienarr and Ross Barkley all get on the scoresheet against the Gunners as they've all got blue blood running through there vains whether he don't rate them or not, maybe he'll pipe down a little. COYB! let's make it to Wembley . again

goodnight sweetie! mwah

Agree0 Disagree0

I promise I didn't read it! Haha Hmm well yep a slight stretching of the boundaries there and perhaps a bit harsh. I merely skim through your posts. As Ed eludes to, I do live in fear of the dreaded axe. But whilst i'm still here ill crack on.

With respect, you are a broken record stuck on repeat. And this ain't The Dark Side Of the Moon either. More Safety Dance by Men Without Hats. I can hear the baritone now.

Your 2 week crusade against the squad has grown a bit tiresome. And as self proclaimed leader of La Résistance, I have attempted rational response to combat that crusade. But you choose to ignore those and focus on what has become a very boring war of words with Swan. I think we are all aware you don't agree with him most of the time. Let it rest?

Im positive when it comes to our club. I believe this has been the most enjoyable season for decades, not that you would admit that out of fear for old David reading, who might take it as a personal slur. I like Martinez. I enjoy watching the football he trys to play, I love we turn up to any ground and I believe we can win, and I know the players representing us have had it drilled into them that we can win.

Im not naive to think we are suddenly going to go from dull non achievers to CL qualifiers in 1 season. I see a team in transition. At times of defeat I don't see what is, but what could be (what will be) in the future. Given that stance, do you see why a fellow Evertonain might become bored reading the relentless deluge from the DegsyPulford school of criticism? I mean, how many words/posts does it require to simply say we need a few more goals?

Agree0 Disagree0

Again you're absolutely right Oli. At heart we're all Evertonians and this season has been a breath of fresh air. We're now going into games believing that we can win (even against the top four clubs - the derby excepted). We were good enough to have taken something from both Spurs and Chelsea away so we the need for bickering and disagreements amongst ourselves? Leave that to Utd and the RS when they implode (as they probably will against City and Chelsea at home and hope

Agree0 Disagree0

Again Oli I completely endorse your comments. Why the need for the bickering and baiting of each other. We're all Evertonians at heart and should be proud of the way that Martinez has changed our style of play this season. He has installed a belief that we now look to win each game as opposed to parking the bus under Moyes and hoping for a draw at best which normally meant a defeat against the top teams.
Let's leave the moaning to the RS when they drop points to City and Chelsea at home and possibly Utd at Old Trafford.
We can certainly catch Spurs with two games in hand after this weekend and possibly still overhaul Arsenal (looking at their fixture list) having dumped them out of the FA Cup this weekend. onwards and upwards. COYB.

Does anyone know if this is the first time an English cup - league or FA - has been won by a team of complete foreigners, as city's team was yesterday?
(English subs weren't used)

03 Mar 2014 19:55:53
i have just been looking at the fixture list, 4th is still a possibility, we are currently 11pts behind gunners and pool and in the next 3 games

everton gunners pool spurs
Cardiff (a) spurs (a) Manchester United (a) Chelsea (a)
Swansea (h) Chelsea (a) Cardiff (a) gunners (h)
Fulham (a) Man City (h) Sunderland (h) Soton (H)

we could potentially close the gap to 2 points with a game in hand,
gunners have a tough run coming let's hope we put a good run together from now until the end of season.

its not over till me maaa sings

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i hope your ma does,nt read this toffo.. :)

Out of them games, us and Liverpool will get 9 points. Arsenal 1 point and Spurs 2 points.

gunner 62 I've nothing against you personally or dagenham gooner. But what is this brown nosing that's been going on since Christmas between yourselves and the RS? Bezzy mates it would appear if you read some of the banter and for what reason?
The game at the weekend is massive for both clubs and I hope it lives up to the expectations. But what is this ridiculous allocation of just over 5000 tickets when you know that we would sell out? Standing? Flares? This is a cop out when you know that AFC are worried about Evertonians out singing Arsenal fans at their own stadium. Will those top tier seats now be offered to the prawn sandwich brigade or will they be left unsold? What I do know is that Everton will make their presence known with our fans shouting and singing throughout the match. We had a great match in the League with our boys more than holding our own over the 90 minutes a few months ago. So expect a battle and should it go to a replay (which I know you will not want looking at your fixture schedule over the next four weeks) I hope EFC restrict your allocation similarly to prove a point.

My wish list for the summer:

Lukaku/
Remy

Doumbia/
Gomis/
Batshuayi

Colback (if free)

Delefeou (loan)

Sahin on loan from Madrid (highly ambitious I know considering he is on loan at Dortmund)/
Benega/
Benat/
M'vila/
N'Koulou/
Defour

Barry(very important)

Martins Indi

I also feel another right back is needed, especially if we qualify for europe. Maybe another winger aswell, preferably on loan. Any suggestions for a right back? Bacuna looks decent, but maybe a bit pricey for competition for Coleman.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Also, I would get rid of Vellios and Gueye. What do you think about the oriinal post Ed 025?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its a great wish list tit, but not all of them would be affordable mate..

03 Mar 2014 16:53:44
lukaku-depends on the price
remy-i like, depends on the price though, under 10m get in

doumbia-no thank you, been linked to the prem for a while, doesn't seem interested
gomis-bit old
batman-deffo

colback-good player, hope we get him

doofy loofy-deffo want him back

sahin-LOL, flopped at liverpool couldn't handle the pace, he is also injury prone and rather, well, static most of the time
banega-meh
benat-meh
mvilla-mon£y, by god he loves the money
nkolou-the centre back?
defour-maybe

barry-deffo get him signed

martins indi-havent seen much, meh

bacuna is a liability at right back, we do not need competition, we have that in hibbert, we need a 17-21 year old who can step in to colemans boots, sam byram was linked a few weeks ago

Agree0 Disagree0

N'koulou, ye he was not meant to be put there he shoul have been put as another potion to Martins Indi. Benega, Benat, and M'villa are good players. although M'villa's motives are certainly questionable. I know he was not a success at liverpool, but few were at his time there. I still think he is decent and a loan would free up funds for other players. Gomis is not the youngest, but a cheap alternative to the others. I think if we could afford Lukaku, and he wants to come, we should get Lukaku. A current goal scorer with a lot of promise- a must is available. Fair on the RB, Sm Byram would be a good one. Could you think of alternatives for the other players?

for central midfield i'm a huge fan of jordy clasie, has everything a midfielder needs, provides a lot of bite, solid range of passing, quick, two footed, can shoot and will put in a tackle, also a big fan of leon britton, bit old though, ki at sunderland is a fantastic footballer, if swansea don't want him i'd happily have him, brilliant player, at centre back, omer toprak has impressed me at leverkusen, dunno who is realistic tbh just thinking of a few, at right back, byram is the obvious one, mattia de sciglio is talented, doubt milan would sell him but can player anywhere along the back four, up front obviously batman, I love manzukic at bayern, would never happen though, morata, bony and ings are more realistic, on the wing, doofy loofy is great if not we have young matthew kennedy coming through, if need be players such as viktor fischer (ajax's best youth talent in years) and eduardo salvio have both impressed me, I particularly love fischer though, most are not realistic, just off the top of my head though

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue-tit I think a lot depends on the remaining games this season. I'm sure that Mourinho doesn't rate Lukaku and that he'd sell if we can compromise on a fee. But if Chelsea are looking at 20 million plus, then we surely look elsewhere. If Lukaku starts scoring again regularly (as he was after signing him) then let's see what Chelsea want. But it's a catch 22 situation. If he bangs in another 10 goals before May, he prices himself out of a move to us. If he slumps again, do we really want him or should we be looking elsewhere?
