Other Premier League clubs replace their managers because their chairmen and boards are absolutely bricking it in fear of relegation and the dire financial implications for their clubs. Either BK and our board are absolutely certain that we'll survive OR they have no fear of the financial disaster that would befall our club upon dropping out of the Premier League. Maybe there's a secret contingency fund that's been stashed away over the years - all that money that some posters have said has come into the club but not been spent - and we'll have to dip into that. Conspiracy theorists - please fill your boots are on this one! ;-)

What will be RM's excuse after tomorrow's match against Stoke City if (when) we lose? A variation on 'the players didn't "enjoy" playing against a "parasite" team' is favourite I reckon!

our loan lads scored 3 tonight! get them back quick?

If they were good enough - even in the eyes of our deluded manager - they'd surely have been given a chance to challenge our under-performing first choices this season rather than being sent to the lower divisions. I doubt that any of those currently out on loan will get a chance at Everton - unless we're relegated, in which case they'll be all we have left after the better players have to be (or demand to be) sold.

So if results stay as they are we will be 15th unless we get something at Stoke. Not looking goods is its lads

According to an old saying, the only certainties in life are death and taxes. Well, I'd say there's now a third: RM's unacceptable post-match excuses. As Oliver Cromwell said to a Parliament that was no use anymore: "You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately. Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!"

just a thought, if roberto goes, while we all are thinking Billic, klopp, klinsman etc as replacements, BK would be thinking Lambert, warnock and curbishley.

Don't get me wrong, I do like BK. I truly believe he loves Everton like we all do. I do wonder though if he is regretting those embarrassing interviews after the RM appointment. I did cringe when he came out with the, "I am absolutely in awe of this man" speech. Flippin' heck, Bill, it's Roberto Martinez, not Frank Sinatra or Elvis!
None of us like the taste of humble pie, but when you're going hungry sometimes you've got to stomach things you hate!

We are in a mess as everyone knows. You all know I like to quote statistics. Well here is a good one. we have looked better in recent games everyone says. but we have won 1 of our last 11 league games. Still relegation form! I for one think we will pick up a couple of wins and hopefully this and a few draws will be enough. I am hoping Ossie gets a start soon and brings balance back to the team. With him in we can also play Mirallas and that is 10 times more potent than with Naismith, Barkley or whoever else on the wide position which they can't play.

Bring back Ozzie that tells you everything you need to know about the ambition some people have.sorry and a sad day when I read things like this.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - to be fair richie something has to change, our midfield is very much of a muchness. you could see the difference when gibbo came in, we looked a lot more effective, ozzie can be very clever and does score the odd goal so its not that bad a shout for me mate..

03 Mar 2015 20:01:21
As you know Ed I have been saying it all season. The defensive midfielders do not bring an attacking threat although they are very effective at breaking up play. I have seen Ossie play probably 12 games this season and the team has functioned much better. Gibbo played well against Young Boys and Ossie was on a par with him although only for a few mins. I keep pointing out his 50 odd goals in 400 games. McCarthy, Besic and Barry will not total 50 goals added together no matter how long their careers last. Those 50 goals turn losses into draws and draws into wins. The guy is 31 years old. not 36. I will just add the proof is in the pudding. I have been ridiculed for saying this in the past but will wait and see.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - dont get me wrong degsy ossie is not a long term answer, but we need different options and maybe he could do a job short term..

Hi ED25 I know your children are Reds how did that happen? a strange one as usually we follow our Fathers ways especially football. also ed at what point do we say enough is enough with RM getting worried now the entertainment level is zero? Thanks for taking your time out 2 answer Ed.

{Ed025's Note - my lads friends were red alan, and they got attracted to the dark side by them, it was the 80,s as well when they were at their pomp....enough has been enough for at least a month now mate, its time for bill to pull the trigger now, but im not sure he will..

For banter page:

I think we did play 'OK' against Arsenal (we never get much there) - but yet again, we conceded 2 goals.
We're conceding (1 or) 2 goals almost every game now - it really reminds me of when Southall was on his last legs - and we very nearly got relegated - if your keeper let's in 2 goals a game you're going to get very close to relegation

Martinez will eventually switch too Robles when he has no choice - but let's hope it's not too late by then.

Howard has been great for us - and he will always be welcome at the club but you have to be able to recognise when your keeper is not making those 'unusual' / difficult saves that some keepers do make - he's only making the saves you'd expect him to make - not the difficult ones that keep you in games

that might be why Martinez can't figure out why we keep coming away empty handed when we've played ok
2 goals keep going in - often against the run of the play

Mr Whelan has resigned as Chairman of Wigan, I wonder if Mr Kenwright keeps himself abreast of football supporters views and the fact that his appointment as Manager seems only capable of managing with Yes men about him and only plays his favourites in the Team. I would (as most of us I expect) love to hear from our Bill.

Hi guys.ed, I've had to change my name from Zacki to Zackiii as the login procedure on the new site has gone awol.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed033's Note - Could you explain your version of awol please?

People can log in by using:
1. A Reply Form
2. The Create New Post sliding form on the right hand side of the page
3. The form you see from clicking the Create New Post link on the top menu
4. The login.php page from clicking the Login Button.

Which of these 4 didn't work for you? But now does work for you since you logged in as Zackiii

03 Mar 2015 14:49:40
. it wouldn't accept my email address to log in so had to re-do it with a new name similar to the original so people would recognise who I was.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed033's Note - To log in, you don't type an email address. The log in requires a username and password. If you type in an email address in either the username or password field then it won't accept it.

i would imagine that if you typed Zacki as the username and password for Zacki in the password field of any log in form, you'd probably log in as Zacki

Don't blame Gareth, he's only relaying what his manager believes and remember players take there lead from the manager, so is it any wounder that the likes of Barry, Jags and the rest of them are talking shit as they have to listen to shit everyday.

Can someone tell me why evertonians are so weird? We play stoke and no doubt jonathon walters will be booed, why? Same with holtby last season and walters before. People boo and shout 'kopite!' Really? I thought they were evertonians, when zamora came on against us 'booooooo!!' Why? what's he ever done? We have plenty to moan about so why shout kopites at evertonians just because they don't play for us? Seems a bit pointless really

Jon walters is a kopite swan, his kids go to the same school as my lad and on sports day wore liverpool kits.Jon has never claimed to be a blue? don't know were you got that from.

03 Mar 2015 14:06:59
Quote from 2011 after scoring the winner against liverpool, he said Inflicting Liverpool’s first defeat of the campaign was particularly sweet for a player from an Evertonian family.

“It’s a Blue family so they are all happy, ” added Walters, who was born in Moreton.

“The majority of my family are Evertonians, although my wife’s father is a Red.

"I’m a bit happier because I’m a Blue.

“A goal’s a goal but it is always sweet to score against Liverpool really.

"My brother was here – he’s a Blue and he was made up.”

You see now that's funny because I remember when he missed a penalty against Liverpool, commentators going 'the boyhood evertonian with the chance to win it for stoke'.

When he came on against us, commentators saying he had a season ticket with us as a kid. His wpedia page says he's an evertonian, my dad said he's an evertonian and he mentioned it on twitter a few weeks ago, he's a blue.
