Bitter disapointment afder a great perfomance, but forth in the league afder 10 games, only one defeat,. plus robbed of six points by piss poor refs. Play like to-day and who knows what we might do ?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Well things could be worse like like being way down the table like the bitter reds.

Yes we should have won today, and yes another defensive error. BUT WE ARE 4th!! After 10 games. We have only lost one match. And we are missing our key defensive midfielder. Our goal this season is to qualify for Europe maybe even CL. So assessment after the first quarter is....?

Mission accomplished, now lets fight to stay fourth and earn the right to play in Europe next season.

everton were superb today, so unlucky not to win, people should be made up how the team is performing instead of having a go. we need to stop conceding early goals though
school of science {Ed025's Note - i agree mate...when we were playing defensive football, but scraping wins, the supporters were moaning(me included)now we are playing free flowing attractive football, they still moan!!...ok , so we have had a couple of draws too many, but hey, i am so proud of the way we are playing, and the plaudits we are getting from the pundits...its a great time to be an evertonian guys,,,,JUST ENJOY IT!!

Once Gibson is back that will hopefully help to our defence out a bit more and we will stop conceding so many goals! But until he's back why not at distin as a defensive midfielder! He will add strength and pace to the position both of which we are currently lacking in the middle!

Frustrating, the slow start and missed chances cost us the game yet again! Have to beat Sunderland next week. COYB NSNO

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Sunderland are going to feel the backlash next week from today's result. {Ed025's Note - i hope so mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

If we cant beat Sunderland then we might as well give up. The worst team in the league by a country mile.

Mike {Ed025's Note - the league says otherwise mike, MON teams are notoriously difficult to beat...very dull but resolute..dont underestimate them!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok ed, maybe not the worst, but they are useless. They have had about 15 shots all season. We should be beating them with little fuss.

Mike {Ed025's Note - as i say mike...not a massive threat going forward, but very solid defensively..

I know I'm going to get slaughtered for this but moyes is doing my head in lately, we've had 4 draws on the trot and were conceding as many goals as a team fighting relegation,we've not been playing man utd's or chelseas, but teams that we should have at least won a couple, could he of not tried something a bit different to try and get 3 points today,I know going forward we look good and we havnt lost again but over the last 4 games what an oppurtunity we've blown with the fixtures we've had, everyone can see the weakness and he's done nothing to stop it, as i say I know I'm gonna get stick, but I'm angry at what I think is a wasted chance
Ste c

Believable5 Unbelievable6

I agree with you it feels like a defeat.weve dropped a lot of points this season already im not saying every game should be won but 4 draws on the spin and coming from behind in each of them to by the way isnt good enough really.at the end of the season these points already dropped against teams below us added to points we could likely drop against the so called big sides are likely to cost us a place in the top 4.i wasnt a lover of gibson but its obvious were missing his presence sitting in front of the back 4 the defence is looking shakey and likely to conceed in every game the sooner gibson gets back and also may i say tony hibbert too the better.i doont wanna sound to negative about today we created enough chances to have won that game twice over.the second half i dont think fulham came over the halfway line mirallas was tearing them apart they where all over the place.for whatever reason we dont know moyes decides to take mirallas and jelly off we should of kept both on imo this then gave fulham the opportunity to come out there own half and start to put us under pressure in the closing minutes with two of our main goal threats taken off,ok jellys not scoring as freely as of late but even so he puts a shift in keeps defenders on there toes.weve gotta start converting them chances were creating soon as poss. ive got a feeling someone is gonna take a hiding from us soon hopefully next week against sunderland.jimmy

Agree0 Disagree0

I wont slaughter you but will point out that we have only lost once so far this season. With a bit more luck and referees giving us a bit more we would be challenging right at the top not just as 4th. Get real, other teams know we are much improved and are playing as hard as they can to take points off us. We absolutely battered them today. Hey we are 4th and when we play the so called top teams I think we will do ok. Pe patient. Moyes is building a solid foundation. Once jelly starts scoring again we will be a top top side. {Ed025's Note - love that post mate...there are another 16 teams who would love to be where we are..

Agree0 Disagree0

You should give the team some credit for having the character and believe to come from behind in games and not losing. {Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

03 Nov 2012 21:30:43
can i just clarify although my txt was negative,im made up were we are in the league, and watching some of our footy has been breathtaking and yes weve shown character, but weve got a problem defensively which isnt being fixed and i cant help think with the fixtures weve had we could of got more points, but maybe i should get real and accept 4 points out of 12 and be happy with that, i was just hoping we could of got more from this run of games.
ste c {Ed025's Note - supporters always want more ste..its the nature of the beast mate...just enjoy the ride fella..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yesterdays result was hard to take after a fantastic performance but a lot of people would have taken that result before hand Fulham will be in the top 8 at the end of the season and lots of teams will not play or get results off them. Liverpool game is a derby and that game could have gone either way QPR we had a man sent off and came away with a good point and believe QPR are in false position and will not be at the bottom come end of season and Wigan have just beaten Spurs at home. so are the 4 draws we had really that bad or could they be valuable 4pts, 3 away games and a home game in a derby. The most important thing is we are playing some of the best stuff we have seen for years and agree we are going to stuff someone soon especially when Jelavic gets his goal scoring confidence back.

Robbie

Agree0 Disagree0

No worries blue mate. After years and years of misery we now have to look deep to find something to moan about. A few weeks ago I heard we were top in Europe for creating chances and forward play. Yes ahead of Barcelona ETC. I will see if I can find some stats to post. Degsypulford

Brilliant effort Everton. Really disappointing we let that second goal in. And boys how about scoring the first goal. Our last 5 games we have been behind. Moyes really needs to address this. Look how early sides get us.
Southhampton 6min
Wigan 10 min
QPR 2 Min
Red 14 min
Fulham 7 Min.

One last thing, any Everton supporter who bags any of the players today should be shot. They all played well. Schwarter was the difference. End of story.

Hi Eds and fellow blues, it's been quite some time since I've posted but I've missed everyone dearly and need to vent my frustration haha. Anyway two points dropped again, a very quiet game from Jelavic and as for Neville and Coleman they are just not good enough. I feel for Naismith he had two good chances which he missed but the lad doesn't even get a chance to get into the game. He got a goal last week but doesn't get a chance to really build on the confidence. Felli and Mirallas played incredibly and the big man was unlucky to not get the hatrick. Some positives but all in all Moyes needs to take a good look at his team selections if we are to stay in competition for top 4.

we were superb today, moyes mistake with jelavic sub and coleman giving the balls away for the goal was sloppy but we should have been out of sight by then, anyway another game unbeaten and we have sunderland (h) reading (a) norwich (h) should be 9 points before we get really tested with arsenal, city and spurs after that

what is the story with r defence this season unreal cant keep a clean sheet never mind us needing another forward r a midfielder we need another central defender have no faith in heitinga or distin(only because hes getting on) another draw draws r useless how many games r we gonna go behind in i prefered when we were playin less exciting football and winning over this p.s am starting to get peaved with howard hes really dodgy not confident in him at all thank god for jags

Urgh yet another draw our great start has really fizzled out, yes we're dominating but were not winning last 4 games weve drawn or lost not good enough. Get gibson back Neville really needs to stop playing in cm he add no creativity what so ever rater naismith there we need to tighten up the defence and stop conceding early stupid goals jelly seems to have lost his form big style thank god for Fellaini get him tied down to a long term deal and tell his dad to do one! Coyb let's get back to winning ways thought I was going to enjoy motd tonight..let's just hope the reds lose tomorrow or they will be within touching distance ad look at the way we have played in compassion to them! That shouldn't have happened I think our problem lies in cm if we were a big named team eg barcalona real united Chelsea do we think that uefa would have stopped out move for vidias oafe (spelling) I don't and if they hadn't I think we would have turned these draws into wins and then we'd be right near the top. Also moyes fancy signing a contract yet? If he does leave us who would everyone like to see come in? I'd like Roberts Martinez, he would get on with kenwright as he and his chairman have a very similar relationship to that of moyes and kenwright and he rejected the reds surely there's no one else? Anyway glad I've got that off my chest coyb

Why is defence so weak when ever we have to hold a lead? Really disappointed and with spurs losing what a chance. Lets give DUffy a chance
Barrym {Ed025's Note - we still went above spurs into 4th barry....we do look great attacking, but i agree that the defence needs work..

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I agree with the Ed on this one and look at the positives. Going forward we are looking superb and should realistically be at least 6 points better off minus 3 for the reds 'defeat'. We should've had at least 5 today and whilst it's uncharacteristic to concede so many, I think maybe DM is thinking we can outscore most teams. Jelavic needs a goal asap as he normally would have scored at least 2 today. Shame really, but if we can keep playing like that then I, for one, am confident we'll finish top 4-6

Agree0 Disagree0

We should play Johnny in midfield instead of Neville and play Distin with Jags. Neville doesn't give us anything going forward and Johnny would give us cover when Baines/Coleman go forward.

Still pleased with 4th and only 1 defeat this season

Fluffy01016

Agree0 Disagree0

Duffy is nowhere near ready for the 1st team yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

One reason why we're leaking goals he goes by the name of Darron Gibson. {Ed025's Note - thats true mate...but we cant just rely on gibbo to keep us as a tight unit, some of the others have to step up to the plate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Football is a team game and defending is not specific to the back four.
The problem, as is often pointed out on this site, lies in the weak midfield combination of Neville and Osman who DM continues to select.
He then unbelievably decides to drop Distan in favour of Heitinga presumably to address shipping goals?
Also, with Coleman at RB we are extremely exposed and vunerable.
Even without Darron Gibson, our key holding midfield player, we have sufficient options to select from which would provide better cover, support and balance.
Whilst I realise that we cannot win every game and today's performance certainly merited the three points, I think understanding where improvements could be made would strengthen the team and turn draws into wins.
With the benefit of modern technology, the coaching staff should be able to analyse every aspect of games and see what seems obvious to a lot of supporters.

Our defending has been woeful this season, it needs addressing asap!. We have always been very strong defensively what's going on, there seems to be no order in the back line anymore, always getting pulled all over the place.

I totally agree i am sick of moyes sticking with phil neville the guy is over the hill thought with 10 minutes left he would bring hitzlperger on fresh legs but no he sticks with a 35 year old who plays every game and never rests him this is the premier league every club rests there older players

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree Moyes never seems to use the substitutes either not any at all or waits until the last few minutes. For the last few years our bench has been very weak but this season and especially today we have got some good options who could be used to freshen up the team with maybe 20 mins to go.

I just wanna address the way these kopites are obsessed with calling us the bitters when the fact is there's no1 more bitter in this city at the moment than them.
So lets look at the 3 facts why there more bitter than us
Firstly there's not a more bitter team in the world than them they way they to man utd( that 19th title just killed them off) they are so bitter towards them it puts our bitterness from the 80s out the picture.
Secondly The D.I.C deal that fell through coz lets have it right if that would have went through for them we all know they would of been out of sight and they way they missed the boat on that is the funniest thing since michael thomas's winning goal in 1989!
Thirdly the money ming kenny and damien comolli wasted for them the other year that eats them up to the core ive got a red mate ( and he actually go the game, rodge D)who tries to defend the signings and say's "oh but the money we made on torres bla bla bla we only lost £20mill" there insane ed. Its a good job them 2 were'nt working in america coz if u worked for a major company over there and you blew a £120mill on them they bang u up for 50+ years for fraud.
So i think we should start calling them the bitters because how can we be bitter towards a club that is on a rapid decent there finished and we all know it

You complain when we come on your page, yet you can't stop talking about us...we know when we've read all there is to read on the LFC page there will be more on here! You complain about it but you're encouraging it! It kind of doesn't matter what you call us does it, it will have no impact on past, present or future...You say stuff about our team that isn't true, and we know that, so it has no effect. You say stuff about our team that is true, realistic honest supporters will know this already. So what's the point?

All I know is id far rather be a 'bitter' red than a bitter blue. Wouldn't switch places with you guys for anything. You may have finished above us last season, I'd still take the league cup and a European spot. Finishing above Everton is no biggie. And you guys have had a great start to the season, but I'd still far rather be in liverpools position to Everton's in the long haul. In fact I wouldnt swap what we've done for any other teams. We might not have won the league for 22 years but we have achieved plenty in that time, including the greatest night CL football has ever seen, and one of the most loyal players the PL has ever seen as our captain (cue Chelsea jokes - hillarious!). I would never swap that for finishing above our rivals occasionally. I used to have respect for you guys, I haven't been using these boards for that long, but some of the stuff you guys were coming out with Last weekend made me realise why they call you guys bitter. {Ed025's Note - jog on mate...your loyal skipper was begging to go to chelsea...i bet hes gutted now!!....and let me tell you...liverpool are the past...everton are the FUTURE!!

Agree0 Disagree0

All liverpool have at the moment is potential, nothing more. Everton, on the other hand have proven international players who can produce week in week out. That potential may or may not materialise into a good, quality side. I, myself, would prefer to be a 'bitter' blue than a 'bitter' red every day of the week. We know what we have and what we have is quality throughout the side, not potential quality, proven quality !
