I think Mirallas played a fantastic game today and I'm really pleased for him. He really excelled when Valencia came on. Valencia was really good as well. Holgate was fantastic. He should play ever week. The lad is a star. Gaye was brilliant. Stek, that was awful.

While i agree we need a couple if new signings it amazrs mr that people on here always say this or that player would be a decent one. These are always the players that appear in the press such as Keane. Nobedy on here said he would be before this mornings papers said we want him. Same for Depay 6 weeks ago - not a mention. don't ask me who i would like as i will leave that to Koeman and Walsh, not the national press.

I'm presuming you mean my post? Of corse the players that papers mention are going to be in my mind. Doesn't mean I can't think they would be a good buy just because a journalist somewhere has came up with it. i'm not an idiot, obviously I don't think my opinion impacts what everton actually do. I posted my opinion to see if anyone had any similar thoughts or different preferences.

Not sure what ricktee's point is really. I don't usually if ever engage with conversations about bringing players in.

But it's called a banter page for a reason. To have the banter about all sorts really.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Dec 2016 01:07:15
True nbtb. Plus to be fair a lot of the banter will come from what the rags print as its a focus point for banter.

On a plus note that was a much better performance today. If we had played like that for the last few games we would have more points now. let's just hope they keep it up and improve on it.

I saw the interview, what a load of garbage. No wonder everyone hates Man U. Thank god we did not get this flog. He is the special tool, not the special one. And his refusal to answer the journos question on Rojos disgraceful challenge or the penalty just proves what a one eyed fool he is. He and Martinez dead set live in fantasy world.

Mourinho is a bad loser! Thing is he is also a bad winner. So whatever the result. the other team deserved nothing and the FA pick on him. he is not 50 years old. he is 5 years old! lol.

05 Dec 2016 10:24:55
See he didn't mention Rojos challenge or the fact that they were time wasting from the off in the second half, yes that's definitely trying to win it.

Before the game I said I was embarrassed to take my lad, his words on the way home then where I no we only got a draw but that's the best game av ever been to, our fans are boss. Massive improvement for me today well done blues.

7.1m Gueye out plays 100m Pogba. So forget how much they cost, just buy the right players. Hopefully this is what Walsh will do.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

04 Dec 2016 22:06:11
Yeah someone keeps telling me we shudnt buy bargain baisment players from Championship clubs. That's one from Villa. championship. Stones was even League 1 I think. Coleman Irish League. Baines, Jags too from lower league clubs. To be frank I don't care if they come from the Wirral Sunday League when they have quality. Everyone has to start somewhere! As long as they end up with us giving performances like that. I don't care!

Agree3 Disagree0

04 Dec 2016 22:43:28
Agree with both posts. That was I presume they aim of the game by bringing Walsh in. Look what happened at Leicester. Players bought for minimal fees considering what they achieved last season.

Not saying its going to happen with Everton but if he is as half effective here then we are definitely moving in the right direction.

04 Dec 2016 23:12:49
Don't forget Holgate guys, thought he was superb when he came on.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Dec 2016 08:16:22
Like I say players from the Wirral Sunday League will do me if they cut it for us. 85 million Pogba would do too. but realisticly are we going to make signings like that? No! So let's get our players from anywhere as long as they help us win summit!

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Dec 2016 19:30:59
Obviously not where we need to be but thought that was a decent improvement. Gueye weren't the only one that was arsed. Though mirallas put a shift in which was good to see. Valencia actually gives us another option up front.

In the next 2 windows I think we need (not counting for any major leavers)

Gk - forster or begovic as potentially a cheaper option
Cb - would love van dijk or Keane but fear we will lose out to bigger first. Loads to look at overseas
Lb - not sure on this. Rodriguez would probably be my no 1.
Cm - this one is to replace Barry. Think schniederlin could do a job. Also I rate arter from Bournemouth
Cam - some pressure on ross. Not sure on this one. Dunno whether we should go for a big signing who might bring the end of our diamond or someone who can be versatile and cover other positions
Winger - would really like brahimi but would be happy with a loan move for delay
St - lookman could be a very good signing for us who could cover across the front.

It's a shame that our youth isn't getting much of a look. 1 or 2 of the above could potentially be covered. In terms of January, I think a gk, cb and an attacking player should be our priority.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

04 Dec 2016 21:22:15
Add a centre mid into the January list and it'll do for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Dec 2016 21:50:09
Think that would be my next pick. Just know it's hard in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Dec 2016 10:29:34
January is never the right time to buy and i would be happy with just a couple of additions to give us a plan b maybe until the end of the season.
You don't usually get quality in tje winter window and if you do its at inflated prices.
The summer is when we should see our squad take shape and consist of players RK wants and needs for his system and philosophy.

Well done to the blues today after a terrible first half they showed great spirit second half and could have won it . but don't know why we had to wait for our three players to go off before we started to play well? But still it's the best we have played in a while so credit where it's due.

Also good to see barkley upset with not coming on as sub shows he cares and is hungry for a game.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

04 Dec 2016 21:01:25
Was definitely the best we have played home and away for a long time but also agree with the comments that seem to echo my thoughts, why oh why do we still give teams a head start. Mind you lots and lots of work still to be done and a few players shipped out. Finally if we could match just half of the cash value of players United had on the pitch, that along with Koemans undoubted ability would certainly give us a lift up where we belong.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Dec 2016 19:28:11
I would start with the side that finished the game against Watford other than bringing Bolasie in for Del. For those who said about starting with Del just have a look at how tired he was at the end after playing only 20 minutes. I think this is why Koeman does not start him.

One criticism for the manager from today was starting Cleverly. What did he see in training this week to justify a start because it wasn't shown on the pitch as he was awful.

Last thing is how different the game would have been if the referee had done his job and dismissed Rojo for an absolutely disgusting tackle. To think that Steks only contribution was his mistake shows that we should have won that game.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

04 Dec 2016 21:08:11
Del does look tired. I wasn't aware he is unfit. What I wonder now is how does he get away with it? With the wages they get and being professionals you'd think being fit would be a basic necessity.

Cleverly's involvement I think was more about not playing Barkley than playing Cleverly. I agree we could of won it only for that big mistake by Stek. Utd looked the better team for periods but we finished very strong.

Holgate and Valencia have to of done themselves good in terms of getting a start.

A draw without Jags or Barkley. A kick up the you know what will do both of them no harm. Competition for places looks more tense now. That should only benefit Everton.

05 Dec 2016 10:22:25
I sit in the Upper Bullens NBTB and i watch him gasping for breath after 10 minutes. I can't see him being here start of next season unless he works on his stamina.

RK wants to integrate a pressing game and Del won't fit into that philosophy if he hasn't got the lungs for it. On a positive note we looked dangerous when we went 4-4-2 and had numbers in utds half.

One thing i took away from that game was what i thought about Pogba all along and that is how on earth is he a £90m player, and also please give Rom some videos of Ibrahimovic, even now supposedly at the end of his career the fella is top quality and i would rather pay £60m for him than Rom.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Dec 2016 13:08:14
Im not doubting you bluegray. I'm just amazed at this day and age he's not put into line. I thought if a player was that bad he'd be pulled aside or singled out. Maybe there is an underlying health issue with him. If not then he should be made do extra training or at least do something about it.

Ibrahimovic is totally top class. A lot like Ronnie O'Sullivan in snooker. Both are extremely talented. Both in my view are one of the most naturally talented at their games in a long long time.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Dec 2016 19:03:07
I wonder if RK has been reading this forum? I've been banging on about playing with 2 up front for most of the season and today he only goes and does it and we looked a different team when the more natural Ener came on.

You can't do it every game but when you need a change this is the change to make.

See Geri was back to his best with his fitness as well 😂 and to think he is a professional athlete.
I would start with the side that finished the game against Watford other than changing Del for Bolasie.

It's only when he made the changes that we looked anything like what we should Cleverly should never be on the left when we got better siting on the bench makes me wonder if he knows his best team yet poor old Barkley what do you think Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im wondering why we dont play like we did in the last 15 minutes and not like we did in the first 80 AB?.. the standard from both teams was very poor mate ..

04 Dec 2016 22:08:45
Part ws because Utd decided to shut up shop and accept a point. As soon as we scored, they came out and played a bit again. it could have gone either way then.

We have 5 players who are dire, especially cleverly and mori.
Watching us against Utd I can see why we are struggling!
Under martinez we played slow patient football and the even average players can adjust to this but under koeman he wants fast high tempo football and you need a good players at least as bang average joes get found out and look lost. I have complete faith in koeman and he just needs a couple of transfer windows I just hope the rest of the fans give him time.

Great reaction and a draw is no shame, but Zlatan should answer for his heel to Colemans head. He knew exactly what he was doing and rojo, truly shocking.
P. s
Pogba is awful, can't believe how much he cost.

disagree on Mori, he is a good player but he made one error for me and that was one of judgement for their goal, if he had reacted straight away instead of standing and looking, we would have won that game 1 - 0.

I have been going to goodison for as long as I can remember but this season is my son's first season ticket, he's been the odd game here and there in the past but this is his first full year and am embarrassed to bring him to such a silent ground, wer getting out sung by a handful of away fans every week, now I no the team aren't giving us much to sing about but I say let's make her rock today, really get behind the lads from the off let's show my son what it's like under the lights at goodison.
