Can I just say how much I love Everton football club and how much I'd love to see newcastle (my club) and Everton will both next season be fighting for champions leauge, both similar clubs, massive fan base with not having to much success and also some of the nicest supporters I have met. Proud Geordie and also proud follower of Everton football club.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Nice of you mate, would love to see us and Newcastle get more of what they deserve.

Spot on mate. Jlaff

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry pal, after Pardews wise words last season, I hope you go down again.
Nothing to do with Newcastle, just Pardew.

Gods Doctor {Ed025's Note - i like newcastle doc, their supporters are one of the best in the EPL..dont blame the club, for what one idiot says mate..

NOT so wrong was I? tp. {Ed025's Note - about what mate?..

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Regarding no money no transfers its all smokiing mirrors but everybody here called me a pessimist no its obvious efcs transfer window use was a shambles. most of the blues on here are very clued in and entertaining but there is a lot of deluded blues who actually thought we were going to buy someone decent we all wasted a month of our lives in hope and the love of efc tp. {Ed025's Note - we had the money tp..no doubt about that...the biggest disappointment for me, is conspiracy theorists like yourself, who try to undermine the club with sly digs..

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewis holtby made an impact at spurs, Sturridge has given lpool a major boost, arsenal have improved with a Spanish international left back, Chelsea sign ba, no ones undermining anyone pointing out major flaws in how we do transfer business, squad needed boosting, not signing a player when out of all the teams chasing fourth place are s was the greatest need is simply not good enough and has hampered are chances big time, stop defending a totally inept policy of doing transfers, complete joke

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh TP life is so hard mate, poor little old TP, didn't get his players he wanted, BK was lying, Moyes was in on it too, we are in such a bad situation, god man shut up moaning you miserable git.

This time last year and the year before and the year before we were near the bottom with worse players, we have a cracking core of a team with some great prospects to come through and always finish well.

Picture this, go back to the start of the season before any matches have been played, I am going to offer you a deal as follows

The chance to be 5th in the prem at the end of Jan with some great creative players and to keep Felli and Bainesee

Are you going to take this offer or not, things are not as sad as you make out mate

Degs

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough degs but I was still right about that transfer policy and thanks for your kind comments ed tp. {Ed025's Note - your welcome mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

R you kenwrights chauffeur, the board again fail and again people put up with it. be happy with fifth or sixth, then. I like a lot of blues want champions league, if you don't have high standards expect to lose Baines and Felliani and moyes it's about time you started looking at the shirt crest when you defend half wits who run the club

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2013 21:55:57
I wanted a couple of players in too mate but it wasnt to be, at least we know we have money to spend in the summer, hopefully.

We need to get behind the boys and Moyes, it would be a nightmare if he left us, I think he needs to sign his contract asp though because it will be unsettling for the team.

We have got another cracking striker too now called Victor Anichebe, hopefully he can push on now and show us what he is capable of, Uniteds defence will have a nightmare with his power, i'm betting on four all again

Sorry poster slamming me who is anonymous, not taking you on mate because you are clearly on the wrong pages, kkkkkkkoppite

Degs

Agree0 Disagree0

We will get behind the team, but can't blame fans for bein cynical about transfer business and are approach to it. its affected us on Saturday you can't tell me your as confident now as at the start of jan. will the money still be there in the summer like the arteta money was last year. these are facts that are hurting the team. the squad is not strong, yes we will have a good go but really feel again a golden chance has been hampered by the board, we should be buzzing not feeling that even the are s can catch us

Agree0 Disagree0

Silent poster isn't a koppite do you represent a forum for evertonions, because if you think my views are those of a koppite you are delusional, these are views of most blues I know who will continue to back the team but feel the board are not matching or backing the mangers plans for matching the top teams. don't insult fellow blues my views are the same as most blues at this time a feeling of a missed oportunity that in the summer could really hurt us

Agree0 Disagree0

Solidarity reg, love the blues, hate the board

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted on this site a few days ago about some fans secretly wanting us to fail so they can indulge themselves in some Billy-bashing or Moyes-bashing or whatever and tp has just proven my point. .

The sense of self-satisfaction and smugness (whether right or wrong ) in his posts is truly sad to hear from someone that claims to support the team!
Oh well let's all just hope for a good win at the weekend : )

aflm78

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no smugness in my posts I adore efc and my love affair started in 1962 and I have not missed many games since then. i'm not an armchair supporter. and I don't make personal comments about you or any one so try being more dignified with your comments tp. {Ed025's Note - i realise you are a true blue tp, and we all have our own views mate, but you sound like we are in the bottom 5, not the top 5!...no one likes to hear disparaging comments about something they love, i know you are just airing your feelings, but try to be a bit more positive, it has been a great season so far, and there is no reason why it cant get even better..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok cheers ed. keep up the good work tp.

Listen mate you could not wait even a week before coming on here to gloat. yeh that's right GLOAT.
That is what you were doing after all. the old ' I told you so, I was right and you were all wrong Na na na na na'
that's called gloating, and gloating comes from a sense of smug, self-satisfaction at being proven (or at least believing so) right! So don't come on here and give me that nonsense about being dignified.

You make think you are a loyal supporter but you're not. You are a negative, moaner and negativity breeds more negativity and helps nobody certainly not the team. You're prob one of the ones that boo's DM's decisions and the team if they don't score 4 goals in the first half against relegation threatened teams, but still think you are a good supporter! My major concern is that we have to play all of the other teams in the Top 7 again before the end of the season. Cheatski, Spurs, The Arse & the Reds play, at most 3 of the others.

Just saying {Ed025's Note - that is not really a worry for me..the better the opposition, the more we raise our game...our worst results have come against the so called lesser lights, such as reading, QPR, norwich, villa etc..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Surely that's a good thing - playing directly against our rivals. If we want to get in champ league then we are going to beat these teams.

I think we play better anyway as we can counter attack more against these teams then the likes of norwich who are happy to get a point from us. jm

Agree0 Disagree0

Only hope you're right. Whatever happens we have major say in the European places

Agree0 Disagree0

We must start winning our home games again, the last few home games have been frustrating draws, still think we will finish 5th

Dave EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Its sad that some fans view playing the teams around us as a negative. Its a great position to be in, it essentially means that 4th place is in our own hands, beat those teams (Spurs away is a massive game) and we will get 4th.
Personally i'm going for 1-2 against Utd, we will be one nil down with 20 to go, Jelly man with a brace off the bench and his season and ours will sky rocket.
Squad almost injury free now just the right back issue. I feel the strong Everton finish coming.

Svenny

Agree0 Disagree0

The last few seasons we have not dropped many points in the second half of season. we gain a lot of ground but normally too far adrift to catch up this season we are 4 points from 3rd now. have a good second halve like last year I think we will get 4th heres hoping for that good second half like last season

Agree0 Disagree0

We can all say we should have brought so and so in from the transfer window the fact is that we only got one player in let's get behind the team to push on upwards and get behind moyes. fair enough heitenga was awful let's see what moyes does in the summer sure he will stay. ryanfromleic coyb.

Match fixing scandel ed's 380 games fixed in European games in 10 years! Are you surprised and did you, like me think Villareal away was defo a fix, people were calling us bitter and saying we were making excuses but I was convinced that night we were robbed we weren't wanted in Europe because there was already 5 teams in it from England and they weren't happy with it {Ed025's Note - at the time...i think we all said as much..

Victor will get better and better if he can stay injury free, his strength and finishing have been great recently

Dave EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Vic seems to play better down the middle than on the right or left and being given the starting slot instead of Jelly really seams to have done his confidence the world of good. Hopefully he can keep up the performance level and bring the best out of the Jelly man. I think coming on as an impact sub may just get him back into the sort of form we are saw last season. Once he gets a couple of goals then hopefully the floodgates will open. COYB

Degs

Why would you say that, ok if we lost any of our key players in the transfer window but we kept everyone. That shows intent in itself. Its the same squad wich got us to fifth and if it wasn't for some really poor ref dicisions we would be higher. we got mirallas back and Oviedo ( excuse spelling) looks promising my chin is up and looking forward to beating united AGAIN this season. I have just returned from holiday and watched the highlights of the Villa match. That has got to be Johnny Heitinga's worst performance in an Everton shirt. As a lot of previous posters have said would like to see Jags back in the middle for the Manc game.

On a positive note, Big Victor looked like he had a good game. Love the way he out muscled the defender for his goal. Plenty more of that please Vic. Looks like he is starting to realise his own potential.

Alastair

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Victor is a confidence player, he seems to be getting better and better with more playing time and the goals are finally coming

Dave EFC {Ed025's Note - he is like a new signing dave..

Agree0 Disagree0

He's still not 'mega' though is he?

If we're going to be top 5 or 6 team we need a top striker not a work in progress - other teams seems to get them - like swansea or newcastle or other teams below us - and we get big vic and 'somethings not right' jelly man

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2013 11:47:40
People are going to think I'm being negative but I think I'm more of a realist, due to the lack of activity in the transfer window I think we are going to have a real struggle on our hands to finish in the top 6, definitely not impossible but difficult none the less. So I think Davey has to freshen up the team by giving some of the young guys a run, I understand him trying to break them in slowly but if he babies them too much they are going to end up like Vic he's only just starting to progress and he's 24. Duffy has looked really good when given a chance, he's a strong physical guy and will chop in with a goal from set pieces.
Ross is a no brainer the guys a real talent and again a strong lad. He's been around long enough I think it's time to throw him in the deep end and I can't see him sinking.
Even though he's younger I think it's time to start introducing Green he has signed a pro deal now I think it's time to break him in slowly along with Stones. I hate to say it but you look at Liverpool, united and arsenal they show faith in their young players and look at the result. We have seen some great talent slip through the cracks by simply not giving them a fair go.
Come on Davey the futures blue and these guys are the future!
Thoughts eds and fellow blues?

SydneyBlue

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I agree with you syd, but I don't think we're in any worse position than we were before the january window. very few teams around us actually REALLY strengthened and some of them will struggle just as much as us with missing players and injuries. as long as we stay healthy (admittedly easier said than done) I think top 4 and maybe a shot at the fa cup is a real possibility.

definitely a good idea to trust some of our younger players. would love to see vellios, barkley, stones, oviedo, duffy all given a good go

evertom

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2013 11:45:54
After watching our last 2 games. Yes, we took 4 points but I think the fact we didn't strengthen in January will be the downfall of our season. I know fans refuse to be negative or criticize the board and that's good in a way but for me we have once again stood still like we did in 2004 and 2009 when we were on the brink of doing something special we just stood still didn't freshen the squad and fell behind Tottenham etc.
Gutted. I think the season now will be a fight for 6th place with Liverpool which will still be decent but you can't help thinking we have missed a chance here of top 4.
No matter what I will still spend my money watching the lads and cheer them on, my priority now is to win the FA Cup, 17 years is too long for a club like ours.

Steve

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Totally agree mate but people need to see past all the glad we have moyes group. were run by a bunch of persons including moyes 11 years and nothing, look at swansea- laudrup will bring them silverware in his very first season! i'm scottish myelf and love what my fellow scot moyes has done (top 8 team) his time is up surely people need to see this, this as much as i'd like it to we just don't have a good/big enough sqaud to get champ league. this summer should be a time of change, players and manager included {Ed025's Note - ahh..no name i see?..another keyboard warrior, who thinks he knows whats best for the club..

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll say this once again: IMHO the Agent Johnson era on top of the post-1985 European ban for English clubs did for us. What BK and DM have done during the past ten years is amazing and anyone who talks about 'where we should be as a club' needs to take a reality check. Every other club currently in the EPL (including all the so-called big ones apart from Arsenal and Liverpool) have been relegated at least once during the past fifty years (some even going down to the third and fourth tiers) and we've had a few narrow squeaks ourselves. Whatever happens, the club will carry on - once a blue, always a blue!
C. A. Jones

Agree0 Disagree0

Read your reply mate. You are either a fan from a different club or a very negative pessimistic person. I wouldn't go that far mate. Just disappointed we didn't get a couple of players in too bolster the squad and push on for 4th

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2013 11:39:21
Revealed today that over 400 games in europe have been fixed. Collini (spelling) was involved in over 30 of them.
Villareal away anyone? Never get over that!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Surely most of these fixes were for gambling purposes by criminals - like those in cricket - and not by the clubs wanting to fiddle results. The exception, I concede, were those in Italy a few years back that led to teams being demoted and trophies being taken away.
Concerned Citizen

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is true it needs to be thoroughly investigated, by Everton at least, and maybe we should receive compensation / damages from someone - UEFA? - for robbing us of champions league money - I'm not joking - Colina was employed by UEFA to referee matches and if he's fixed some like the Villareal game then UEFA are vicariously liable for the unlawful acts of is employees which causes damage to others - it's called 'tort' law - get your lawers on it everton

We are beginning to stutter and the CL will slip away. As a matter of urgency, David Moyes needs to resolve his contract. Deny all you want but this ongoing saga it is affecting the players. Can you imagine if this would happen at MU?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Yeah maybe not at man united but pep guardiola would only sign one year deals with barca for the last few years he was there, and he'd wait til deep into the season to renew his contract, and those players didn't seem to be bothered, so why should ours. they are professionals after all

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2013 10:44:30
A number of blues appear to be going to war over th Johnny H situation and DMs selection of him. Johnny is a top player who is having a nightmare phase in his career- my only objection is that DM who is a top manager picks him at mo. Is it really so wrong that efc supporters raise this issue? We must always question bad descisions that are blatenly obvious, we know our history and our football!
We are not JH or DM haters!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Sorry pal I've never liked him, I was at his debut Pompey away he got utterly destroyed, he's great at fist pumping, he's a phoney this season I've seen him pull out of tackles pull out of headers and even pull his leg out the way when he could have scored, that was in a away game Fulham I think, the guy just can't be bothered, the sooner he's gone the better, I can except players having inferior levels of skill but I when they stop putting in the effort that's unexcetable, it's cancerous and can spread if not nipped in the bud, cancel his conract and pay him up and ship him out, and be done with him,

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2013 10:05:22
how long will Hibbert still be injured for? He's the missing link now and we desperately need a decent right back that can defend first and foremost.
If he was fit then Johnny would not be getting a game.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

But why spend 3m on a full back and sit him in the stands. good move!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm forst poster and also agree with second post - an england U21 guy that cost us 3m has got to be better than a guy who cost us 60k from Ireland hasn't he?

Away games to come Man utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Norwich, Sunderland, I can see us losing 5 games there. A couple of things;

against united we have to play neville at right back. I don't like to criticise our own players but johnny has been poor all season and jags needs to stay central. it has to be either neville or stones.

we also have to stick with victor up front. i've never been sure of him, but he is on a roll at the moment and absolutely bossing defenders. he can definitely have his way with uniteds poor defence this year, especially with fellaini getting a lot of attention. these two will free up peinaar and mirallas a lot hopefully.

last one, if moyes does leave everton, which god I hope he doesn't, I think thomas tuchel could be a very good shout as a replacement. currently manages a very good mainz side in the bundesliga. working on a smaller budget than we are. understands how to build for the future and compete right now. it would be a risk but I think it might be worth it.

Absolutely agree with Neville as RB Tom, also with Big Vic, he is playing great and the Utd defence will struggle against his strength.

Never heard of the manager but for me mate it has to be Laudrup or Martinez, hope Moyes doesn't go though as it would be a big miss for us.
