Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

I know Twitter isn't the best source for transfer rumours but I would just like to say I have thoroughly enjoyed the Everton account these past few days. Whoever runs it is class. Really good engagement with the fans. Been on top form. Check out what they have been doing and compare it to the boring other clubs. The good side of social media.

I personally think Umbro have pulled a master stroke in doing a deal with us.

They are looking to rebuild their brand having been the main supplier of England Football Kits for years.
With the right marketing team they may well be looking to.move away from the image they have developed in recent years and look to up their profile and get back to quality.
It would appear they approached us to do a deal which is an indication they want to be linked with our improving image as a quality team.
We are not in top 5 of prem league for no reason.
We have a quality manager
Quality peoples club image
Quality team
Quality coaches
Quality players
The list goes on.

The deal is done, let's support them as they have clearly wanted us.

Hopefully Umbro actually design us a kit instead of the bog standard templates we have been used to

Just wondering if anyone thinks that the reason we got the Czech goalkeeper is that Howard is thinking of moving to the MLS next season, to finish his career closer to home? I think I remember reading that somewhere ages ago. Am I being paranoid? Wouldn't be the first time. Gah! Who's that in the garden? Oh yeah. I ordered a pizza.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hope not. Despite the gaff against Sunderland on Boxing Day, Tim has been our most consistent keeper since Big Nev.
He's one of the few good things to have come from Utd at a decent price and I feel he's got a fair few years left in him yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2014 23:09:57
nigel martyn was a class keeper, better than tim imo

Agree0 Disagree0

People may say i'm mad but for his age i'd say tim krul is one hell of a keeper.just has a poor defence in front of him.id have him or even begovic to replace howard IF he left.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - I'll get in there first,you're mad.}

05 Feb 2014 09:10:39
Begovic is a class keeper. Looking at 10mill plus if we tried to sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tim is good.compared with some of the keepers we have had over the years. Some have been pretty poor. I would put him nearly up there with Nigel Martyn.

Am sorry but Av I missed sumthin ere when did footy kits become a fashion show, all these so called lads sayin am not wearin umbro need to have a word in the mirror, get a grip ay lads the only badge that matters on the kits and all the other merchandise is the everton badge I didn't care less who makes the thing as long as it's everton so let's all man up stop actin like little divas an get behind bill an bob, sum people r never happy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Feb 2014 21:50:30
Totally agree and I coudltn have said it better myself

Agree0 Disagree0

Me, I'm always happy, I walk around with a spring in my step almost whistling I'm so happy but, if it's alright with you, I refuse to wear anything made by peacocks/primark standard.

For the record Iconix Brand Group who owns Umbro, makes most if its money supplying cheap/crappy sportswear to America's equivalents of our Home & Bargain, Peacocks and Primark, therefore I will voice my displeasure at a club of this stature lowering its standards to this level.

Agree0 Disagree0

It does not matter who's name is on the brand of the kit just look to see where they are made and the quality of the materials used! The IMO only difference between Nike and Umbro are the marketing departments. If its got our badge or name on it then that all that matters to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha umbro r a football brand that has made great kits over the yrs, it's a kit at the end ov the day and I bet when it comes out u buy it for your kids, it doesn't matter who makes the thing as long as great players wear it so man up ay cooper Wud u rather us wear a Armani kit Wud ya an pay 120 for the kit

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it a rest DB Cooper, not only is what you're saying utter tripe as IBG own Macy's, not exactly a 'cheapo' store is it? Also who gives a flying **** who make the kit? Umbro have had a good track record with us, as long as it's an Everton kit, I'll buy it just like every other season.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's your prerogative Bitter, you can buy 100 kits for all I care. Umbro is yesterday's brand, cheap and nasty, not fit to represent and lead a fine institution like Everton Football Club. If wanting the best for my club is utter tripe then so be it.
----
Johny - what do I need to 'man up' for exactly? I don't like umbro, and I will not wear it, if you don't like it you know what they say - tough titties.

Agree0 Disagree0

By the way johny, Armani doesn't make football kits and never has so that's a totally irrelevant question.

And to answer your other question - no I wouldn't buy it for my kids. Like any self respecting man I have standards I'm not willing to compromise. I've not bought any merchandise this season due to the badge, next season I will not buy anything due to the badge and the manufacturer. I trust this answers your question to your satisfaction no?

Feel free to wail and moan all you like.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree with db cooper,,,, let's be honest if liverpool announced a new deal with umbro, what would we all say? we would prob laugh our heads off at it, call them cheap and nasty etc . don't say you wouldnt. everton as big as they are need to be aiming at the big market, puma, adidas etc . not umbro it is cheap and nasty and like db myself if i'm looking to buy new gear for myself, kids etc, I swerve umbro and am sure the majority of you all do the same, poor decision by everton,, see no financial figures been released. hmm

dont think its fair to criticise db just because he has good taste

out of interest who actually designed and made our kits over the last 2 years, was it Nike or Kitbag? one obviously holds a great name for itself, the other I had never heard of until I was told we had association with them for our kits. If it were Nike, why was our kit a basic bog standard shirt which could have had any teams badge stuck on it, while other clubs who have their kits made by Nike could not due to the like of watermarks printed into the thread?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nike designed our kits Craig but as we're not in their 'elite' group of clubs we get sloppy seconds. We are the only club in the world who don't make a single penny from wearing Nike. Kitbag is just the distributor.

New kit deal - 35m over 5 years, have the club thought about what there going to loose on future lack of sales? This is not the 80's people don't go for the likes of Umbro, Gola or Hummel, I didn't even buy any of the Le qoc sportif merchandise for that exact same reason, Bill get your head out of your backside, all this making us more marketable is a load of tosh!
I'm never happy am I Ed lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - your not baz...try eating some chocolate instead of sucking them lemons mate..

I'll try that Ed but in the mean time I'll just vent lol,
Are we indirectly funding Newcastle United? as Umbro cr@p is usually sold from the likes of Sports Direct!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think it's that bad. It a kit if everton are making more money than the nike deal which was obviously only a two year deal why not even arsenal have left nike and gone to puma 60mil for 5 years. It's not that bad as everyone is making out, we are currently not in the cl so it's a good deal

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't realise that having a diamond on our shirts will see us relegation favourites for next season.its just a make.my mates wear clothing makes I wouldn't wear but I still talk to them and see them regularly.no pleasing some people.Barca had kappa make their kits a while back but people bought the shirts even though it was considered a chavvy make country wide.

Agree0 Disagree0

No one has mentioned anything to do with relegation, yes it's a make, what I'm getting at is marketing value, worldwide Umbro has how much appeal, zero IMO, you only have to look on the JD app to try and find any Umbro related football equipment, because I can't find any, I mention JD as I'd say that's the main sports store in the UK these days and that's where I'd go for my lads boots equipment etc
It's just a backwards move IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

The only people who I hold to blame for this new deal are the fans. Nike supposedly pulled out of the deal because the design of the new badge on the 14/15 shirts was a cost they were unwilling to incur. Yes it's great that we spoke out about the badge, but don't be blaming the club when we hold 50% of the blame.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever the umbro deal is - wouldn't it have been better to negotiate a deal, or wrap up a deal, at the end of the season when there's the slight possibility we could be in the CL and would be in a stronger bargaining position?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't have a go at Bill for this! If you want a new owner look at Cardiff, I would take umbro over turning the kit red any day!

Agree0 Disagree0

What's that got to do with the price of fish?

Agree0 Disagree0

Could be worse. At least we're not with Warrior!

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely and I'm old enough to remember the 1970s home shirts with the Umbro criss cross long sleeves worn by Mick Lyons, Martin Dobson and Andy King et al. They were classy and matched the stadium designs around the Gwladys Street and Bullens Road stands.
At the end of the day money is what we need and if Umbro are offering us a better deal than Nike then we go for it.

Yessssss Signed with UMBRO Great news for the club! We are now wearing the same as some of the best teams in European Football! Just to name a few

Slavia Prague, Stockport County, Sligo Rovers, FC Riga (Latvia) Mika Yerevan (Armenias Finest) And my Favourite from Bobbys homeland of Spain.Prat!

There is many more no mark teams wearing umbro and no big name teams. So let's hope Everton are now the Umbro Family Favourite and they pull out all the stops and give us a decent wedge because if not this is a very poor move by the club! Umbro have been bought and sold to 2 different companies so it doesn't bode well for them. But In Bobby We Trust Allez Allez Ohhhh!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lol could be worse it could of been Warrior and City wear Umbro as well u left them out.

Agree0 Disagree0

City used to wear Umbro Stef, they now wear nike.

Agree0 Disagree0

Best pair of boots I ever owned were umbro Alan Shearer boots actually returned some Nike ones for them :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - mine were george best ones AL..they laced up at the side.. :)

Thanks for the correction bitter its just I don't pay much attention to them anymore they bore with there riches lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah City swapped to Nike this year. If its more money than we got from Nike i'm happy if not its a poor move because the Nike casual gear was pretty nice. Umbro boots were good in the 90s but you don't see Ronaldo turning down Nike boots for the double diamond do you haha and Warrior make for the RS but they have one of the best kit deals going even if they do look like a christmas jumper but let's be honest even if there kit was nice would we ever admit it? No because it would still be aload of Shi. Sorry Turd

Hi ed I asked the other day about fourth official tweeting about something going on today, @everton are at it now and they have just tweeted follow them from 2pm today! It could be all rubbish but I'm intrigued so I will be keeping my eye of them to see what's happening! You heard anything?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - twitter is very unreliable si, so i dont follow it mate..

I think it has to do with the tower being turned blue or Ross Barkley signing a new contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

They are all being bused from FF to a secret location. Could be a new Ground deal perhaps?

UMBRO

Agree0 Disagree0

5 year Umbro kit deal

Agree0 Disagree0

Its actually the umbro deal lads were going back to umbro its just been announced not exactly exciting is it.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a new kit deal- Umbro for the next 5 years

Agree0 Disagree0

It's probably to do with the new kit sponsor announcement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, Kit deal with umbro. No more merchandise for me, I refuse to wear such cheap tat.

04 Feb 2014 15:52:57
didnt get my hopes up, now i'm glad I didnt, all it is, is a five year partnership deal with umbro, wow, this is worse than when we got excited in he summer, only to find out it was just goodison in fifa, typical everton #buildyouupjusttoletyoudown

Agree0 Disagree0

New kit partnership with umbro

Missing ed definately something happening gregg pledge and other media on it but all sworn to secrecy

Hopefully it will be a better kit than Nike supplied!

Hello all what are people's views on naismith I like the fella just think he is not quick enough sometimes however I like the way he has found the goal just lately long may it last, any other views?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cahill was never the quickest or the most technical but people worshipped him. I think people should stop trying to pick fault with Naismith all the time as he's never let Everton down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we ask anything more of a striker than to hit the back of the net? If he wasn't scoring we could look at other aspects of his game then. But for now let's just hope he can go on a scoring run.

Agree0 Disagree0

He might not be quickest but his positioning and know how is second to none. the runs he makes are world class he seems to anticipate where the ball is going to go before any1 else, and that is a very dangerous quality to have. After his first goal vs villa he said to pienarr '' Everytime" and I agree start trying little dinks around the box because naisy will be onto it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll support him if he's wearing a blue shirt but like many others on here I still have my doubts. Yes he scored a nice goal at the weekend against Villa and he's been played out of position this season on the wing, but I still think of him as being a free signing when things went tits up at Rangers and possibly not good enough for us. I hope I'm wrong obviously but I'm yet to be convinced.

I'm curious as to what everyone's perfect Summer transfer window would be. Going on figures stated on this website, let's say we have £40 mil to spend (Europe included), my perfect Summer would be:

Ins -

Deulofeu - Season Loan
Jay Rodriguez - £15 mil.
Barry - Free
Dennis Praet - £8 mil.
Bruno Martins Indi - £6 mil.
Batshuayi - £8 mil.

Outs -

Gueye - Free? (Surplus to requirement)
Vellios - £2 mil.

Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Feb 2014 00:38:07
15m for jay rodriguez? hell no

Agree0 Disagree0

Ins:
Fernando (free) - out of contract,
Akinfeev (free)- out of contract,
Traore (12 mil) not wanted by manager,
Deulofeu (loan) more time to mature,
Indi (6 mil) linked for a while good cb/cdm,
Lukaku (18 mil) surplus at Chelsea,
Barry (free) out of contract
Gauld (4 mil) future star
Ince (free) out of contract

Outs:
Hibbert (free)
Pienaar (4 mil)

This would be epic and would make our squad super strong (champions league quality perhaps). The reason I say pienaar out is because he is looking out of place this season. (Not good enough imo)

Agree0 Disagree0

Martins Indi. 7-8 mill
Batshuayi. 8 mill
Doofy Loofy. on loan
Barry. free

players I think are realistic but may be too pricey

Lallana. ? Mill.
Gylfi Sigurdsson. again not sure how much but as we would be dealing with Levy I'd say as a fringe player no less than 50 mill.(joke)

Agree0 Disagree0

Swan, Southampton would never sell Rodriguez for anything less than that and in my opinion £15 mil. would be a steal for a player of his quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2014 11:41:14
A player of his quality? Same goal to game ratio as jelavic, don't get me wrong he is a decent player but 15m is too much, he has barely had a full season playing good, we could get a quality striker and one or two squad players for that, if southampton won't sell for less then look elsewhere he isn't the answer to our problems up front

MIke-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Are all those players going to play for free then Swan is all well and good most of them being out of contract, but they demand inflated wages a as we have a tight wage budget anyway it would just not be doable.

Agree0 Disagree0

That reply was suppose to be directed at Tmh not Swan

Agree0 Disagree0

Here is my two pence worth regaring transfers (if we get into CL):

Striker: Bony from Swansea -15m
Striker: Traore (Loan)
Winger: Delefou on Loan
Midfeilder: Collback (Sun) Free
Barry - Free
Defender: Indi - 5m
Foster (GK) - 5m

Out
Howard - 3m

Thats £22m!

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2014 16:07:14
howard is a better goalkeeper than foster

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree..

If we get champions league
Indi 5m
Barry free
Colback free
Delefou loan
Then Lukaku or Muriel for 20-25m
And Batshuayi or fingbasso 5-10m

If we don't get CL lukaku/muriel will be out or reach

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if chelsea get falcao, which seems likely, we may get a good deal on romelu mate..

First of all he did ask our dream summer. Originally I would have had vellios, Hibbert and Gibson out to free up wage and some funds. And secondly I see you are quick to criticize swan but I don't see you actually answering the question of the post!

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2014 20:44:40
okay

out:
osman
vellios
gueye

ins:
messi
ronaldo
ribery
falcao
ibrahimovic
gotze
hummels
robben
and yaya toure

happy?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets be realistic swan!....osman is going nowhere.. :)
