Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the pace of Lennon and Coleman will be used tactically on the right wing by RM.
Coleman had seemed below par this season, but I reckon that's due to McCarthy having been struggling with the hamstring injury, as I believed it was McCarthy dropping in and covering that allowed Coleman to surge forward.
Likewise with Barry being able to fill in when Baines surges forward on the left - most usually with Mirallas on the left since Pienaar isn't the first choice left-wing these days.
Besic is great and will no doubt take the Barry role as soon as possible - especially as Besic has played centre-back and should be comfortable dropping back between our two centre-backs just as Barry often does when other players are on the offensive.
I also wonder if Atsu can show the good form for us just as he's been doing for Ghana - depending, of course, on RM selecting him.
I'm sure that RM wants to use attacking pace against the darkside, which surely means that Mirallas and Lennnon - if ready - should start. Naismith behind Lukaku to start with Barkley on the bench. McCarthy - also if ready - will surely start.
But what the heck do I know?

On Coleman I think the fact no body has even been trying to overlap hasn't helped either. Lennon will do this all day long

FFS McGeady will still be first choice

So, with Mirallas, Lennon, McGeady and Atsu in our squad, we should now have cover for the wide positions.
We've got Lukaku and Kone for the number nine position.
We've got Naismith and Barkley for the number ten role.
Hopefully - and injuries & suspensions notwithstanding - RM won't be selecting square pegs in round holes for the front four positions, but will be able to rotate players in their best positions (especially for Thursday/Sunday fixtures). Just a pity that Lennon can't play for us in the Europa League, as he's cup-tied.
Only other downer imho - despite what other posters have opined - is that we currently don't have a fit Osman or a fit Pienaar to come off the bench if/when we need a little guile or clever play "in between the lines" up front.
We also have cover - experienced & youngsters - in midfield & defence. Pretty much two players (or better) for every position. Just concerned re the goalkeeping cover.
All in all, credit where credit's due to RM (and BK) re the transfer window: OK, some posters wanted loads of changes - for various reasons (!) - but we kept the likes of McCarthy, Mirallas, Coleman, Barkley, etc., when they were clearly being linked with other clubs. I just hope that we tie up Garbutt to a new contract.
The summer transfer window will surely be when there will be movement in and out of our squad. Cleverley looks like he's RM's choice for the Osman/Pienaar role - even if he's held in such low regard by several posters! I'm also wondering how many of our youngsters - especially those on loan like Lundstram, Grant, McAleny, etc. - will actually be in next season's squad or will move on.
Hmmm - I think I'm slowly coming out of my deep, deep, depression about Everon that I've been wallowing in since before Christmas.
:-)

{Ed025's Note - it will be a really sad day if we do sign clevs mike..he makes mcgeady look like maradonna..

The only worry I have about signing Clevs is how will the other players react. Knowing that they will have a team mate head and shoulders above them might have a negative effect of the team morale. I hope they realise how lucky they will be to share a dressing room with such a player.

The good thing though is Clevs is such a humble, talented, technically gifted player, ( a one in a generation if you will), that he will thrive here. Clevs for Captain. I can't wait for the season to end now. Get him in.

{Ed025's Note - you know...somewhere in my evil mind i want to sign him....just to get your reaction mike.. :)

Agree with everything Cowpat.except the Osman bit. Our best performance of the season was Wolfsburg away (home wasn't bad too) were Osman played a full part in breaking down 2 Wolfsburg attacks and played the balls out of defence for our 2 goals. He was outstanding. But as usual got little praise for an exceptional performance in holding midfield. not his usual! We have still only won 2 games all season without him. But I am starting to annoy Swan now so I will shut up!!

HI FELLOW BLUES JUST A QUICK POINT TO PONDER IF WE PLAY ARRON LENNON WONT HE TAKE THE SPACE S COLEMAN TAKES. WHEN HE PLAYED FOR SPUDS THAT WAS HIS AREA.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he should play higher up the pitch streety..

I have said before that is why baines and Coleman have not been so effective this season we have been to narrow Naismith Barkley and eto so opposition full backs push up and restricts our full backs getting fwd. good post cowpat we have all bee frustrated but if you look at the squad now it is balanced with quality. Just need a a rb and cb next season. I think rm made a mistake with eto I don't know if he disrupted the team as personally but he is a no10 and we had two players in that position already. Hopefully Roberto has learned from it.

THANKS ED025 YOU JUST GOT THE JOB

Agree0 Disagree0

Haven't been cleverlys biggest fan to be honest but I think he can play the Osman role of linking attack and defence nicely. Also if he is on a free I wouldn't complain too much at least he would be fit unlike the ever crocked Gibson. Still young and showed promise early in his career, would be nice for him to come good for us!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - come on clarkey....surely you cant be serious mate?....he is awful..

At least Clarkey has got a bit of a clue. He sees the wonder of Clevs.

Ed, you will be drooling next season as Clevs sprays the ball 5 yards backwards and sideways, keeping the ball like the midfield metronome that he is.

C'mon guys we need complete rebuild this does not include cleverley or Martinez! End of!

If anything else he is another body, are squad is always short and he is a young England international available on a free. If he joins I hope he proves you all wrong, unlikely as that is!

. forever the optimist me. but you know, if we were to beat the Reds at the weekend I think it would change our fortunes around & bring back maximum confidence. we have drawn 3 & won 1 of our last 4 so there has been an improvement of sorts. at the end of the day I'm Everton through & through & whoever a in charge I just want things to improve & go well for the remainder of the season. in my opinion Bobby should drop Mcgready & play Lennon from the outset so we have him & Mirallas bombing down both wings - this will enable Ross to be played back in his naturally best position therefore giving Rom much better service from all angles. for me, there's no coincidence that our improvement has been ever since young Stones has returned to the team, considering a lot of our problems were defensive errors.

I read in our Australian Paper today. Quote and article for Tim Cahill from the paper. He had interest from English Premier league clubs, he couldn't bring himself to play against his beloved Toffees. "I seriously always have a love for Everton that will never die and they know that as much as anything" he said. "I think they're buzzing I haven't gone to a different EPL club. It would have been impossible. I wouldn't have played against them just because of how much the club means to me". It brings tears to my eyes. He is a legend of the club. I wish more players not just Everton players would be loyal. I look at Stevie G as much as I can't stand him he has stuck with Liverpool and could have gone anywhere at his peak! God I'm proud to be an Evertonian.

{Ed025's Note - i think we all feel like that aussie, good post mate..

Most of us Ed. I have seen one or two posts mocking his ability and associating him with the Moyes era which apparently was crap!

Agree0 Disagree0

Any negative post about cahil when he was at our club then them people don't have a clue about football

Agree0 Disagree0

Cahill was a unique player nobody else like him in the PL also DM did a great job just time to move on RM great first season moving on but somewhat stuttering now, Evertonians are patient are are getting used to improvement so we need to see changes happening now!

G'day everyone, I haven't been on for a little while as most of the regulars will know I'm a passionate Everton supporter and I am also very involved with the A League and work with numerous clubs. Over the past few months we have been working to try and expand the Australian game and myself and a few others have been working with a few English clubs and to my delight we have manufactured an agreement that will see Everton and Central Coast Mariners form a youth development partnership. I just wanted to come on and inform anyone who hasn't already heard and to state my excitement about my two loves working together for the future. It's a great opportunity for all involved.

Great news, Everton have formed a partnership with Australian team Central Coast Mariners. We need a keeper, Mat Ryan, the Australian Keeper is a Mariners product and a fantastic Keeper. Hope this means that Mat will be coming to us next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ryan plays in Belgium

True. His mum still lives on the Central Coast, and he still has friends at the club. I can dream can't I?
