TommyBlue, thanks for Aspen Baardsen,
had to look this one up .
A Yank, on loan 2002/03, played 1 game,
conceded 4 gaols, got to be the worst record.
unless Ed, thinks he was a class act like Dobbo.
Nice one Tommy.

Garath baraths "thinking time", is now starting to verge on the disrespectful, yes he did a good job for us last term, but we also saved him from footballs scrap heap, so MR Barry, put pen to paper, or say no and have your agent hark you around for a few pounds more, your price is already too much, and your ego is becoming priceless.

I agree. He was blowing towards the end of the season too as his legs started to go. Thanks but no thanks for me - he's taken too long.

Your lucky I gave you the time of day to read this post, and even luckier that I'm going to reply to it. First things first, hi there, nice to finally meet someone who works very closely with Everton's transfer dealings, it's such an honour to have your profound wisdom about everything that is happening with the Gareth Barry deal (sarcasm). How do you even know whether Roberto Martinez wants to offer Barry a contract, Mr. ITK? How do you even know whether Barry really wants a move to Everton but the club won't offer him a long term contract due to his age, Mr. ITK? Think about what you post next time, no one has a clue as to the specifics of the Barry deal so stop acting like you do. Sorry if this comes across a little aggressive but I'm pissed off with people calling Barry 'disrespectful' when they haven't got the smallest idea on how transfer negotiations work.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty sure Martinez has said that he would like Barry to stay, I'm also sure he said that he will give him time and respect his choice! And I'm 100% certain that this is a rumour site so posters don't really have to think about things before posting, if this was a 'fact'site then I would understand your response but it's not so chill out!

Well said, BB, I completely agree.

Pod, you're clearly a fellow Blue so there's no point in starting a scrap, but are you really suggesting that, should Barry sign for us, you're not going to give him your total support because he took the time to make sure that the deal was right for him and his?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Barry wants a 3 year deal at 60k a year but Everton know his legs won't last that long, lucky if they last a whole season

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2014 23:29:52
why won't he last a season, he breezed through last season, aslong as mcarthy is running not a prob, similar to stephanie g of the other side, he never been blessed with pace so aslong as he an make a tackle and spread the play he can get at least a solid year, then season after euro and cups if he can't cope with league demands.

i agree 3 year contract is too much but he defo got 2 years imo

@John Ant - no, I'll support anyone who wears the blue, even if we do end up signing Cleverly! What I am saying is that if he can't make up his mind then we should do it for him. Clearly BB has laddered her tights to be so upset and no, I'm not ITK, but Bobby says he wants him and if we have not offered anything then Barry should just come out and tell us. He must know the fans are getting frustrated and if he doesn't then he's not interested enough in being one of us.

You do realise giving him a 3 year deal does not mean he will be here 3 years, he may stay for 18 months and then go to the mls to play for nycfc, I want him back regardless of whether or not he is on a 3 year deal, he was brilliant last season, we know what we are getting with him, its all well and good saying we should by someons from europe who is 23-24 byt there are not guarantees whereas with barry, there are

I don't know if any of you remember my post a few weeks ago. The one predicting that this transfer window would be quite unique in the fact that Premiership clubs all have an abundance of finances (lots of dosh for those who don't understand).yet there is still a limited amount of players available. I predicted that hardly any players would move until the last few days of the transfer window and I also predicted that when things do finally start to get going, you would find average players going for mega bucks. I said some clubs would panic and pay silly fees for poor players and some would find themselves without any new signings. Even the bottom teams in the premiership have an abundance of cash. So why should they sell their best players when they don't need extra money.they need better players. There will be an influx of players coming from lesser known leagues. eg the South American and East European leagues. The one club to buck this trend is our nearest rivals. Fair play to them for lining up their ducks. They will also soon have a massive amount of dosh to target young up and coming players and make silly offers. That is one that really frightens me. We can do without any of our young stars having their heads turned with offers of financial security like we cannot offer ourselves! The final few days are going to be weird. I can see really average players going for 20 million plus. The likes of Lukaku and other proven goal getters will be in the 30 or 40 million bracket. There is too much money in football now. Suarez at 80 million sets a benchmark and he comes with the risk of a possible lifetime ban if he bites again or does some other nutty thing like headbutting a ref again. Weird stuff happening in our footy lads! 600 million to Manchester United for new kit deal! How can we ever compete with that? Just as we seem to be closing the gap on the pitch, the money side of things takes it even further away! Rant over!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The real irony is that we all agree most footballers are overpayed and overhyped and this showed in the performances of the england team this world cup, the cream of english talent in the premier league failed whereas so many lesser player have shone!

I think we will break our transfer record this year if we are to make a big permanent signing, looking at some of the names we are linked to!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We will have to. Read my post about silly transfer window!

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2014 08:32:27
How come every player we have been linked with or looking at has gone somewhere else or about to? I know we can't afford the whole world's players but even I'm starting to get worried now because the so called big guns are getting the new lads in sharpish and getting them settled. come on bobby and bill give us fans a couple of decent signings and all is forgiven . coyb!

Who? Arsenal have signed no one or spurs, the reds have signed an average midfielder, sorry two average midfielders and an ageing striker, man u have signed englands most overhyped talent and a decent modfielder, city have signed a decent player at best, i'd hardly call it top business by the big boys

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I am a liverpool supporter but don't over react here, lallana, average? on what planet is he average. team of the season Southamptons best player all season and everyone was raving about him because he is a fantastic footballer and I highly doubt you know anything about emre can to even judge him and rickie lambert isn't going to play every week one of the best back up strikers in the league

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough swan good point on the arse and spuds. Fact is all the players mentioned in the same sentence as efc all look to be going elsewhere. Whereas barry and rom don't seem that arsed tbh about coming. that's all I'm saying. At least the other teams are making signings average or otherwise. And nowt from us yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2014 20:59:21
Ive seen emre can play numerous times due to good old online viewing, he's certainly nothing special, yes he young but there is a reason bayern let him go yet kept hojbjerg and weiser, that is because he is okay at best and my kopite mates (more than blues unfortunately) are going mad you paid 25m for him, who was he before the season just gone? He had a decent 4 months and that makes you worth 25m? We could get 50m for coleman then surely, southampton ripped you off good style, I like lambert I really do i'm just saying to my fellow blue he is nothing big to be worried about yet

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2014 10:42:39
lfcste don't get yourself too worked up about Swan and his opinions on player ability. Just reading the take on Lallana and then the 'good old online viewing' of Emre just made me cringe. You have a pair of top players there.

If we are interested in Caulker, then BK needs to pull his finger out because Cardiff have accepted a bid from QPR for him

Apparently QPR have had an offer for Caulker accepted. There was talk of our interest.

Ed do u think we'll make a bid?
