If you fancy a laugh go on the RS site tonight. They're now discussing whether they should bid for Lukaku in the summer as 'Plan B'.

Lucky we have people like Ed001 to put us straight then isn't it?

{Ed007's Note - 'Straight' and 'Ed001'... now there's 2 words I never thought I would see in the same sentence!}

That one made me laugh Ed007. I don't often laugh as well, well done.

In the past, I have always given BK the benefit of the doubt despite his lack of success finding substantial new investment or new owners. There were also the PR debacles, but the appointment of Alan Myers - and subsequent improvement in PR matters - proved to be a good move. So why the abrupt departure of AM? I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but something just doesn't smell right about his departure - in fact, without a suitable explanation from the club, it stinks in my opinion. How many directors, chief executives, and other senior staff have left the club in recent years - apparently because of disagreeing with the direction being taken by the club and therefore (we must conclude) disagreeing with the strategic leadership of BK and his like minded directors and senior staff. I now await the chorus of "we told you so" from the longstanding critics of BK.

Bk has not found new investment cause he wants to be the main man take a look at clubs who have been for sale less than six months an been sold and much lesser clubs than us ie fullham west ham reding and many moor English an abroad. I can't help but think he tells us he want to sell but really that's the last thing he wants

Agree0 Disagree0

If you owned everton and they were doing ok in ~7th place, would you sell it?

No everton fan would sell the club they loved whilst things were going 'OK'

Unless we found an abromivich or sheik who could do a city/chelski then selling to another 'just' multi millionaire won't make any difference so Bill will never sell to just another 'mini rich' guy like himself - why would he?

He's never going to sell and we're never going to get past the much richer clubs above us - now that its all stitched up by the champs league money
This is it now for the next 50 years - get used to it and try to enjoy it for what it is.

My team to face Arsenal would be:
Howard
Coleman
Stones
Distin
Baines
McCarthy
Barry
McGeady
Barkley
Pienaar
Lukaku
Big decision to include Barkley in the team, but I think he has had his sit out and could play an important part for us. I have included McGeady because he has individual talent like Mirallas and Delefeou but can keep the ball a bit better. I think we need Pienaars intricat passing. The rest of the team is self-explanatory. Although I wouldn't mind too much is Naismith started and we brought Lukaku on later on in the game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would have the same but mirallas for mcgeady instead an I would defo start with lukaku

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd leave Lukaku on the bench and start Naismith. When he came on against west ham, he made a hige difference to the game. He gets tired quickly though. I think even West Brom had him play super sub for majority of their games.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd play both Mirallas and Delefeou and leave Barkley on the bench. Same defence but add Osman just in front of Barry and McCarthy. So you'd have a front 3 of Lukaku, Mirallas and Delefeou with Osman providing the cover that maybe Barkley wouldn't. Do them on the counter with pace. Similar 433 system to Chelsea's 1-0 at the Etihad. If Osman is a liability then Barkley off the bench early 2nd half.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on Oli. We need the strongest team selection to start. For me Howard in goal and not Robles. The back four speaks for itself with Stones replacing Jags. In midfield McCarthy and Barry and in front Pienaar, Osman, Delefeou and Mirallas with Lukaku up front. The bench should include Barkley, Naismith and McGeady plus Robles and the kids. This game is winnable if we hit them hard and early. After that Stoke game they are vulnerable and Lukaku looks hungry again and with Mirallas should be good for at least a goal apiece.
Let's hope the 5000 make themselves heard and consign Wenger to another season without silverware.

barkley
mirallas

with naismith, pienaar and mcgeady/del boy coming on when we need an added spark

Agree0 Disagree0

Apologies Mike. Too many sherbets.
I'd drop Delboy out of that line up to the bench as well.

Just read about the under 21-s against bolton and saw that mcaleny bagged the winner. Nice one.I didn't know he was back from injury yet

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I was following the club's tweets and witnesses were buzzing at the quality of the strike. On a sour note, last night was Stuart Holden's comeback for Bolton. He lasted 20 mins and could barely walk off the pitch. He was once a potential target, real shame because I always thought he was a talented player but that's probably the final nail for him.

Is he really that good? 'Flatters to deceive' if you ask me - like Mirrallas his decision making goes to pot in and around the 18 yard box when he often fails to slide the ball to someone in a good/better position - last week McCarthy threw his arms in the air when Gerry refused to slide him a good shooting chance, preferring to go turn back and go the other way, which resulted in a near miss so he got away with it, but if there's one thing that hacks me off its a greedy stupid player that thinks of himself way before the team

We're not used to greedy players at everton and the fans won't forgive him too many more chances like the McCarthy one (if it means we fail to win a game)

You don't mind it so much if we're 2 up but not at nil nil when we need a goal

He looks a bit like an arrogant spoilt kid to me to be honest - his demeanour I mean

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I understand where you are coming from, the guy doesn't pass enough. He reminds me a little of Ben Arfa at times, in the way that he sometimes turns it into delefeuo V the defence and not everton V the defence. So many step overs. lol. He is a very good prospect and a good player aleady, he just tries do do a bit too much on his own.
